It’s Christmas y’all, the most wonderful and furriest time of the year! No, that’s not a reference to Santa’s beard or his reindeer. And it’s definitely not about that fuzzy but still ugly sweater we’ll all be receiving this year. Again.
Today is about cats — specifically, cats enjoying Christmas to the fullest! The holiday season is a time to appreciate the small moments with family and friends, the presents, the delicious food, and last but not least, snuggling up with your favorite fluffy companion. With their humans at home for some well-deserved vacation time, these Christmas-y cats are making the most out of it, and they want you to be in on it too. I have had cats my entire life, and I’m 62 now I’ve observed that cats will climb, and potentially destroy, Christmas trees until they get to be at least 2 years old or simply too fat to fit between the branches. So either be patient or buy a very thick tree with extremely close-set branches. Oh, and hang unbreakable ornaments around the bottom of the tree, up as far as your cat(s) can reach. Breakable ornaments or those you care a lot about should go on the top branches.

At both Thanksgiving and Christmas, we have turkey. All our pets get their own little dish of chopped up turkey meat—-not a huge amount, but just enough to satisfy, since they’ve smelled it cooking all day. Those evenings are just so peaceful, what with everyone—-and I mean everyone—-in a deep turkey coma.
