People Talk About Which Celebrities Are Totally Different Behind The Scenes (30 Answers)
What you see isn’t always what you get. At least, according to the people on r/AskReddit, the third biggest subreddit on the site. Some redditors got together and started gossiping about which of the most popular stars and performers might not be as genuine as we might think.
The author of the thread, redditor u/0belisktheT, sparked a discussion after asking people for their thoughts on which celebrities might be “faking their entire personality.” We’ve collected some of the most interesting replies, Pandas, so have a scroll down and read through some of their thoughts and suspicions.
Entertainment, pop culture, lifestyle, and celebrity expert Mike Sington was kind enough to enlighten us here at Bored Panda about the relationship between celebrities and being genuine. Mike told me that it's difficult to know for sure if a star is truly being genuine or not. "You have to be quite a detective to figure out if a celebrity is being genuine," he said.
"Even with cross-referencing social media with media appearances, with what their friends and other celebrities say about them, you may never figure it out," Mike explained to Bored Panda how difficult things can get for amateur celebrity sleuths. "Some are actually that good at creating an image. And along with their team, it becomes an actual business. Even with all that, slip-ups occur. Watch for the celebrity apology which is almost a certain sign that something genuine occurred." Scroll down to read the rest of the celebrity expert's thoughts.
Got any ideas about which beloved celeb might be putting on an act? Want to rave about a chance meeting with a star in real life? Drop us a line or two in the comment section at the bottom of this article. Though, keep in mind that even if some stars might be pretending to be better than they are, many are pretty open about what they’re like. Though, if you want some more juicy gossip, check out Bored Panda’s earlier article right here where the relatives of celebs spill the tea about what they’re really like.

Gordon Ramsay…. I curse worse when I run a kitchen and it’s all an act… he’s retained like 85% of his staff for more than 15 years I’ve read… if he was really an a-hole they’d leave
I actually don't think it's an act. He is nice when they do good job but furious when they mess up, just like most people but he shows it
Gordon doesn't strike me as a poser. Cursing profusely and being an a-hole is NOT the same thing, there are plenty of complete a-holes that never curse.
And his mother. He does NOT cuss in front of his mother!
Load More Replies...On his India episode he seemed so relatable. And all his recipes are such fun to make.
Load More Replies...I've met Gordon, it was as he was just beginning to make a name for himself as a chef. He was lovely, signed stuff for us and was chatting about starting a career in food. I met several other celebrity chefs and he was by far the nicest and made time for me and my friends.
I've seen his first local "performances" when it was a small budget production and compared it with a more recent one in the same day and I could tell the difference was huge! I don't know if it happened naturally or if it was more "oriented": "Can you scream more and drop F bombs here and there?", "Can you please break something?", "Can you chose one of these insults I've written? I'm sure the public will love them!" "OK can we please try another take? You reacted too rationally." ...
Everything I have heard about him is that he's tough but fair. If you are trying your best, he will be lenient, but if you're being an idiot, he'll unload on you. That being said, I am guessing the personality is exaggerated for all of the kitchen competition shows. His cooking shows with just him in a kitchen are fantastic.
He seems to treat his workers quite fairly....just got to handle the cursing when you mess up...but that seems to be part of the package. Lol
Julie Andrews aka Mary Poppins. A family member worked with her very closely on a few productions. She's tough as nails, way smarter than she leads on, and has the mouth of a truck driver.
I actually have no problem believing this. Were there people who thought she wasn't smart?
you can be thought of as smart and still be smarter then you let on. I doubt there was many that thought she was stupid, but there might be a few that found out they had still underestimated her.
Load More Replies...Yes, she's had the nickname of the "Iron Butterfly" for quite some time.
Load More Replies...Being tough, smart and cursing (without being offensive of course) doesn't necessarily mean bitch though
Load More Replies...not hard to believe she's smart really and as for the mouth like a truck driver i can imagine her slinging curses at people.
Imagine the song "my favourite things" but with cursing instead!! Would love to hear that🤣🤣🤣
Haha me too...currently singing this in my head now trying to add rhyming cuss words! :D
Load More Replies...Okay, if people are going to confuse an actor with one part they've played, and then when they find out that they're different say that they've faked a personality there's no point me even reading this list.
Julie Andrews plays many, many roles that are prim, proper, polite characters, e.g. Clarisse Renaldi in the Princess Diaries films. Victor/Victoria and Sound of Music have her as an outsider type character but she still plays them in a very bright/polite/positive way. This is a clear pattern of roles that people may come to expect from Julie Andrews as a person.

Almost all heavy metal rockers are anything but moody devil worshipers. It's always been hilarious to me that in reality, Alice Cooper is a soft-spoken Christian.
All the rage comes out on stage....no anger or negativity left for normal life after that
Load More Replies...Alice Cooper has a past client of mine backstage (who has many disabilities) each and every time he is in Sydney. He spends at least 30 minutes each time with him. He remembers every detail about him and his family. He makes him feel like a rock star.
Alice is a lovely person. He always was. All the make and posturing is what it is - just show. Also Gene Simons.
Load More Replies...My dad played golf with him once. It wasn't until they were done when someone asked what it was like to play golf with Alice Cooper. He said he had no idea he was playing with Alice Cooper. He was nice, polite and really soft spoken.
Load More Replies...I grew up in Phoenix area where he lives. You'd see him on the golf course a lot. He's very active! He donates a lot to the community and you can find any time there is some sort of celebrity fundraising event in Phoenix he'll be there. My favorite memory of one of those events was a baseball celebrity fundraiser during spring training. They brought out Cardinals (football players), Suns (Basketball players, Coyotes (Hockey) and then there's tiny Alice Cooper in an oversized baseball jersey, participating like the hero that he is.
Metal head here too, I’ll tell ya why most are nice, IMO. People get into metal for a variety of reasons. But many tend to be social outcasts, are often bullied for whomever they are, or sometimes just what they listen to (again, various reasons). The common dress attire probably doesn’t help. Anyways…Rarely do the “bullied and outcast” project the same to others, they know how it feels. Most just wanna live their lives. And the vast majority consider other metalheads like family perhaps for that reason. Many are hella smart and talented in various fields too. Just my $0.02 being my scene, avid concertgoer, and have played with a bunch of metal bands over the years. \m/\m/
This made me think of Jonathan Davis and Korn...great guys all were bullied when they were young which is evident in their music just listen to the lyrics of Clown...
Load More Replies...I was interested to get celeb expert Mike's take about the pros and cons of celebrities creating completely fabricated personalities for themselves. According to him, it can be a financially lucrative decision, but one that's exhausting.
"The pro of creating an image or personality is that it sells," Mike shared with Bored Panda. "The image becomes a money-maker which leads to more work." There is, however, a major drawback here.
"The con is it's exhausting. It's very difficult leading a non-authentic life, constantly worrying about what you're doing and saying. It can also be expensive, hiring people whose job is to create that image."
Old skool here: Marilyn Monroe.
She acted like a ditzy blond but behind the scenes she was hella smart and something of a literary buff (one reason she was attracted to Arthur Miller).
Marilyn Monroe was the ditsy blond, however... Norma Jeane Mortenson was not.
Both she and Jayne Mansfield were just playing to the 50s Male psyche - The characters they played were pure marketing devices. Both women possessed very high I.Q.s
A movie producer, friend of my parents, once heard Marylin Monroe recite a monologue from the ancient Greek tragedy Medea by Euripides. He said she was truly incredible and managed to transform herself completely into the tragic figure of Medea.
Given that "Medea" is a complex play about a woman being used, underestimated and stepped over by her husband while being quite capable herself sounds like a fitting role for someone with her history.
Load More Replies...I forgot who said this, but someone once said “…your womanhood is a secret power especially when you are working covertly, because most men never see you as strong and they underestimate your capability. This means that you can catch them off guard and knock their socks off like no one else.” (Or something along those lines)
Benedict Cumberbatch. He carefully avoids having any discerning personality, and we know next to nothing about him.
Takes talent. Good on you, BC
Yes! I really hate the fact that we live in society where the complete disrespect to any form of privacy is normal as long as the target is famous. Once they stop working, they should be treated just like anyone else. And all the foul articles about them should be forbidden unless approved by them before publishing...
Load More Replies...Actually it is because he is British. Most of them don't feel the need to publicize everything they do. The same can be said for Dame Judy Dench, Dame Helen Mirra and others. They just have more class than the so called stars who have to show off the bare butts.
I have to agree with you somewhat there. I'm originally from the United Kingdom and don't hear or read nearly as much about British celebrities (with exception of Tom Holland--people really seem to "worship" him in the United States) in news and social media. However, we still have our fair share of washed-up reality stars and B and C-listers the United Kingdom. However, I truly respect Cumberbatch's decision to not have ever facet of his life on display for the entire population. Celebrities are human beings and should always have the right to have a personal life that isn't in the public eye.
Load More Replies...I worked for him once early in the Sherlock years. He was polite, professional and would always reach out if he noticed I was stressed. (I was in drama school at the time, and he had attended the same one) He noticed my lanyard and asked what program I was in. Once he realized it was the same one he had done, he lit up and gave all kinds of advice for dealing with different acting teachers, dealing with other classmates etc. He was just starting to get chatty when more people came by, then he got quiet again. He struck me as a nice guy who was not ready to be a sex symbol and had no idea what to do with it. His default was quiet professionalism.
This is something that should always be respected...let them have their private personal life. I was so annoyed when Riz Ahmed got married and the headlines blew up because he was "hiding" his wife...rightfully so, look at what the media did when they found out.
Worked at a hotel and met Pitbull. Really polite guy and seemed humble. His whole crew got big a** rooms with the best available accommodations. Pitbull got a small single queen and he basically cleaned his own room before he left. The girl that was him was anything but basic
Wait, he was a girl oO !!!! That's the biggest faker of them all then !
He looks like he takes good care of himself, if you know what I mean.
Basic is slang for someone who is essentially fake.... Think of the girls in mean girls... Means he was likely with a nice, down to earth person and not some insta model lacking a personality
Load More Replies...What does that mean, the girl that was with him was anything but basic? Lol who gives a s**t
The expert also revealed to Bored Panda that the celebrities we're most drawn to, the stars we're most fascinated by, are most like us in terms of character. Like attracts like, whether we're talking about niceness, drama, or mystery.
"I’m going to be brutally honest," Mike told Bored Panda. "I think people who are genuine and nice themselves are more drawn to celebrities who are genuine and nice, and people who revel in drama are more drawn to the celebrities who are always involved in drama."
Rammstein. They look like they beat up old grannie for fun, but they are a wholesome bunch.
Also Slipknot. I played football backstage with them at a festival, and they were really sweet and polite.
Most metal heads and bands are total sweethearts. They're the misunderstood teenagers that got bullied.
Interestingly its the guys with the wholesome love songs also that seem to be getting a disturbing amount of sexual harassment allegations....
Load More Replies...They should do more puppy/kitten interviews with really hardcore bands, it's always hilarious to see the difference in stage behaviour and actual personality.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I first read about Maynard James Keenan's doggie. But then again, I'm sure he is a lovely person, so the little doggie shouldn't have been much of a surprise.
Load More Replies...Also, Iron Maiden. Most of those Norwegian death metal/black metal bands are actually wonderful, wonderful people, who do lots of charity work. For 99% of all metal it's just an act.
They are very thoughtful artists! Listen to Seemann. Or anything else they've done that isn't mainstream!
At least smarter than you think. Many songs of them have deeper meanings, not just "rah rah rah, grug gruh gruh"
The singer Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse is a thoroughly nice guy by all accounts. He plays funfair grab machines while touring worldwide and donates ALL the cuddly toys he wins to local children's hospitals. A true gentleman.
Mariah Carey
She gets away with being a diva because people love it when she “slays” people but she’s actually a huge b**ch. She’s constantly bringing down other women in the music industry, and people hate working with her because her demands are too high.
Now I have a reason to hate her besides having to hear that wretched "All I Want for Christmas" every day for two months straight at work.
That "I don't want a lot of Christmas" + "All I want for Christmas is you" combination is such an ingeniously subtle insult ♡
Load More Replies...When you have to demean and insult others to make yourself feel better or appear better you're the problem.
And when did she do that? You believe everything you read?
Load More Replies...28m for a company like Virgin is like 3000 dollars.
Load More Replies...Mariah Carey chartered a yacht I worked on. She was on board for two weeks and she was a nightmare. Her manager called and asked which of her CDs did we have, we had two, so her personal assistant brought the rest. The whole trip was listening to Mariah Carey listening to her own music wanting praise. Plus, she was never at any meals on time so her entourage had to wait at the table for hours to eat.
Just out of curiosity, are you on one of the huge yachts anchored in SXM?

Julia Roberts! I worked on a photoshoot with her and all I gotta say is wow...from the moment she showed up to the moment she left, screaming at everyone about everything. An absolute b**ch to the nicest people who didn’t do anything to deserve it. Apparently, that is how she always behaves when there are no cameras on her. Lost every ounce of respect I had for her after that day.
Love her movies, hate her personality though, ever since my friend, who worked on the set of Pretty Woman with her, told me how she treated the model, who doubled her. She apparently doesn't have nice body skin, so a double was hired for some scenes. JR bitched at her whenever she could. Horrible, if you consider the double made her look better without getting credit for it.
Apparently, in the set of the movie "Hook" her nickname was "Tinkerhell".
I’m named after her lol. My mom adores her, so I definitely won’t tell her that :D
So many people get by and get over with their saccharine smiles, smh
Her half-sister Nancy accused her of bullying and causing/aggravating her depression in her suicide note. That says it all for me. And she's overrated as an actress.
During another recent chat with celebrity expert Mike, Bored Panda learned that we should put aside any and all expectations when we’re meeting our heroes, whether they’re well-known or niche celebrities.
"When meeting a celebrity in person, get rid of all expectations. Expectations can just lead to disappointment. Some celebrities are just like they seem on screen, some are not. You’ll most likely have the best encounter if you go into it with zero expectations,” Mike told me earlier.
Paris Hilton, she's not nearly as airheaded as she pretends to be
She has a crazy high IQ. She just understands what the public want to see in female celebrities, and unfortunately it isn't brains.
She went to elite private schools and had good grades. She took her TV money which was only about $7 million and made into a $4 billion business. BTW she does not have a huge inheritance waiting for her as her grandfather pledged 97% (outside of company stock) to charity, her father has done the same.
Load More Replies...Can we agree it would be impossible to actually be as dumb as she pretends... Not humanly possible?
I think it is humanly possible! You are just very optimistic that such stupidity doesn't exist
Load More Replies...Was watching a video of her with Brad Leone and it was interesting to see any time she'd start to break character before catching herself.
She acts like she is so out of touch with the real world because she is.
I never thought she was air headed in fact the opposite, she knew what she was doing..
Bono pretends to care about less fortunate people and he was named in the Panama Papers list of tax cheats. Hypocritical piece of s**t. Wyclef Jean's Haiti charity was a scam too, his AMA was a hilarious disaster. Heard that Ellen Degeneres isn't as nice as she is on tv.
The South Park episode about him is hilarious. 80 courics!
Load More Replies...Bono just lets you know where you can donate money. And U2 has Never paid taxes

The expert, who has met hundreds of celebrities during his lengthy career, said that we should try to be as genuine and natural as we can before meeting a star.
"Stay grounded and be yourself, it’s really just a situation of a person meeting a person. Keep it that way and you’ll keep the celebrity comfortable. You don’t want to scare them off!"
All the big kpop bands. They’re so overworked. There have been so many occasions where they collapse on stage from exhaustion. They basically sign their whole life away to a company at such a young age, often becoming trainees at age 13. And yet they manage to keep their public image so polished and perfect, with none of the behind the scenes explicitly on show.
There's been a few suicides in the last few years from K-Pop groups. The pressure on them is insane.
Not only last few years and not only pop music. Celebrity suicides have been happening for decades now in Korea. Mostly due to online haters, and, I know it sounds like not a big deal, but, trust me, the anti-fans and the over obsessed crews can literally lead a talented famous person into their own death. It's really sad. Japan has been having a similar problem as well. Wish people understood that, no matter how much you love or hate a celebrity, they're not just only human, but a human that doesn't belong to them fans, and will most likely never even meet, or interact with them, and that that's perfectly fine.
Load More Replies...They have no choice. Media (and some fans, unfortunately) are absolutely toxic when it comes to k-pop bands. Someone make stupid joke and boom, everyone acts like they murdered someone. If they don't smile all the time, they must have bad personality. Etc. It's crazy.
Name a type of celebrity and the change is big the workplace is toxic
Load More Replies...It just sad they're are not allowed to express their true emotion/feelings to portray that Perfect idol image otherwise a controversy can be end of their career. Many Idols are boycotted due to Drugs and even smoking or any Open relationship. Many times Saesang start to attack the Internet making fun of their Appearance and psychically hurts them just cuz they're in Open about their Relationship or having Bonded with the opposite gender. Many Idol k!ll themselves cuz of Bullies
I hate the K-Pop stans and HATED k-pop but… now I just hate the stans… thats really sad I actually feel so bad for them.
I changed my mind a lot about K-pop once I learned thatany Korean star that is found out to suffer from depression instantly loses all their fans and contracts (because Korean fans believe that is an offended against them that their love is not enough to keep the stars happy, or something), in a nation with stupidly high suicide rates because talking about one's mental health or therapy is seen as "playing the victim".

Jimmy Fallon laughs like he has a sniper pointed at him at all times set to fire when he doesn’t laugh dramatically

In the dictionary, the word insufferable is illustrated by a picture of Jimmy Fallon.
Yikes you guys. I find him a child at heart and endearing. I realize that this is part of his job, but also the reason he got this job. I've also never read a bad thing about him, well, until today from you guys.
Lol, downvoting something that was nice about someone else. BP is in a foul mood today.

I've heard theories that he genuinely laughs at everything because he's not very smart
Load More Replies...I saw him do a remote podcast with Bill Burr -he's actually surprisingly normal when alone, and even has a normal chuckling laugh.
While we're talking about fake personalities on the Tonight Show, google Johnny Carson. The guy was an anti-social prick who never laughed or engaged with anyone once he left the stage.
I've been to "The Tonight Show", Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden and of all of them Jimmy Fallon was the nicest most likeable person. Conan was alright, making fun of the people in the audience, Kimmel and Corden were jerks, Kimmel hardly making contact with the audience at all, Corden ignoring us completely but Jimmy Fallon took about 20 minutes to walk into the audience, talk to people, answer questions, etc.
Adam Levine, a few years ago he had an act in Latin America's biggest music festival "Festival de Viña del Mar" in Chile, he was a massive a**hole, he asked the whole staff to not look at him in the eyes, instead made people turn around and look at the walls whenever he was walking, also he looked like he was hating to sing there as he had an angry expression all the time, his clothes were all dirty and his act was TERRIBLE (also he was like an hour late), the singing and everything he did on the scenario showed how much he hates to be there after like a 30 minutes show he stormed out and insulted everybody and the city itself. This festival is well known worldwide and there are an estimated 50 million people watching the show on TV and online, so everyone watched him being and a**hole and there was news about it around the world, so at the end, he recorded himself saying sorry and stuff.
He IS a massive d**k, he insulted the city by saying "f*****g town" and even the presenter of the festival spoke about his terrible experience with Adam and the whole band. Even to this day, Chilean people can't stand him as he insulted one of the most important events in our country.
100% it is so grating. I don't understand why he became popular in the first place.

Eddie Murphy is a major AH too. He forbids the staff on tv sets to look at him. Since I learned that from friends in the industry, I refused to watch any of his movies. You don't want people to look at you. I won't.
Look at it from his perspective. People always eye balling him because he's Eddie Murphy. At some point - after +40 years of fame and eye balling - you'd also be fed up with people staring at you. Not having to deal with staff staring at you on set is actually not that weird imho.
Load More Replies...What a massive amount of ego it must take to tell other people they aren't worthy to look at you.
"We tend to think celebrities are just being nice and kind because we think they have to do that to be successful. After all, who wants to admire a miserable celebrity? What we fail to realize is most celebrities are genuinely nice and kind, and you can definitely take advantage of that by being nice and kind yourself. That’s what creates a positive celebrity encounter," the expert shared his view that most stars are genuinely nice people.
Kevin Hart. If you watch that documentary about him, you see the mask slip a little when he loses the “everybody’s BFF” persona for a minute and is a REAL scumbag to one of his boys going on a completely unprovoked tirade about how “without ME, you’re NOTHING”
Think your comment through and see how long before you realise it is simply a prejudice. According to real research, far more larger men are total assholes (Angry, violent). But society accepts it because they think larger men are awesome.

Kesha. Her rapey boss made her act like a trashy junkie to sell more albums. She actually is not like that but a religious person.
to be fair, trashy junkie and religious person aren't mutually exclusive.
I don't know why being religious is seen as a personality trait or the equivalent of being a "good person". One word: TV preachers (OK, two words).
The music industry really preys on young talented women and loves to f**k up their reputation. Look where britney is now. Miley cyrus. Heck i even used to hate Taylor swift until i read up on her and shes actually a very smart woman who changed the music industry and if a guy had done the same things she did no one would have batted an eye. She didnt really do anything that outrageous, just kinda became villain of the week. The only real complaint about her was that she had a lot of boyfriends. Whereas how many male singers do nothing but sing breakup songs or all the girls they f**k at parties, and thats normal. All of them later talk about how they were pressured to behave in very inappropriate ways, when they were basically still kids.
Watching a porn movie does not equal "going to Catholic school".

I'm friends with someone who worked on a set with Bruce Willis. An intern at one point went up to him and told him how much he loved and appreciated his work. Bruce smiled and said thank you, and as soon as the intern walked away went to the guy's manager and proclaimed he would leave set if the intern wasn't fired immediately. The kid was fired and its pretty f**ked considering how much time and work he probably put in just to get to that point
Willis is rumored to be the highest level of narcissistic dickhead, totally unlike his fun-guy persona.
what a douche , smiles to his face THANKS HIM then gets him fired ...... for some one that plays a tough guy , that was a pussy move
Watch the video of Kevin Smith talking about directing him, It was a nightmare
It's always someone else who heard the bad behavior. I believe very little now.
An actor, on-set probably has a rider in his contract for no one to address him and take him out of character while working.
Came to say this. Actors pretty much always have a limited amount of people who interact with them on set. My spouse is a sound guy and oftentimes he is not allowed to talk to the actors beyond what needs to said to get the mic on properly. I am quite sure the trainee has signed all kinds of paperwork regarding rules on set. If all the people involved in set would come talk to the actors, they would not have time to do anything else.

I don't know why but I feel Ellen DeGeneres fakes her personality. Just look at her episode with the actress from 50 shades [Dakota Johnson].

I met someone who worked for her once, he wouldn't say anything specific but when I asked if the rumors about her being nasty to her staff were true he said I did 't know the half of it.
I don’t pay to what happens with celebrities but can someone fill me in? Because I know she messed up I just have never had the energy to find out why.
The mantra of Ellen's show is “Be kind,” which is funny considering she has relentlessly harassed people on her show for entertainment. For instances: Ellen made Taylor Swift cry in an interview when Swift's exes was brought up and Ellen turned it into a game that was embarrassing for Taylor. There was a Chinese boy who came to the show, and Ellen was really rude towards him and the translator because they didn't “speak English fast enough” (as if translating English to Chinese and vice versa is that easy). Ellen asked BTS creepy questions like if they hook up with fans, even though their fanbase is full of teens. However, people realised just how awful Ellen was after that episode with Dakota Johnson; it may have been a butterfly effect, but employees of the show began to report about the utterly toxic, and even racist work environment. Even if Ellen isn't directly responsible for that, she still has a responsibility to care for her employees since she's the face of the show, a show that tells you to “be kind.”

I've met Ellen DeGeneres years ago, and I found her to be nice to a point...she's always looking for a way to turn ANY encounter into a joke, and she's very hyperactive around other celebrities, also looking for a way to use them as a punch line. That said, she was nice about giving me her autograph, though she made a snarky comment about the blank pages book that I had her sign in "Is this your diary? Any sexy bits?"
Jennifer Lawrence isn’t actually a party girl that drinks. She is a super put-together actress pretending to be relatable.
My former trainer worked with her, said she was a very down to earth young lady. She came into the gym, worked out, went home. No one batted an eye.
I have a good friend that went to school with her and she was apparently an absolutely garbage person. Maybe she's turned it around now but holy heck the stories I have heard.
'pretending to be relatable' is the only thing I've ever thought about her.
What a marvelous talent, to play so many roles so believable. Love you Jen.
Any of those YouTubers who are geared towards kids. If they were half as happy as they act, their eyes wouldn't look so dead
Not sure I would put influencers in the same category as YouTubers with children's channels. Not many are looking for make-up hacks or vacation destinations while watching Blippi...
Load More Replies...Nope its their fault they spend their waking hours making dumb horrible videos. My 10 year old son was watching one with mario stuffies and this handicapped one wearing a bike helmet and a pencil up his nose. The piece of s**t youtuber made MILLIONS before he got demonetized for having grossly inappropiate videos looking like a children's show
You will not convinced me that Blippi isn't up to something shady in his personal life
My kid loves him. He is incredibly annoying to us...lol...but I was pretty surprised when I discovered he is worth over 40 million dollars! I may need to start a YT show !!!
Load More Replies...Face it, most content for children is grade-A s**t, been that way forever, not just on YouTube. It's all about spending the least possible effort and money to make as much content as possible, for someone who basically doesn't know about their own shadow and doesn't care that they already watched 1234 episodes with the same exact plot. Not even people who love to work with children could stand that kind of work without being completely dead inside.
So many famous people look dead inside. It's hard to find someone who visibly puts their soul in their work, not trade it with satan for fame
You don't fake a personality, you have a persona which is a separate contextual appearance of your personality. The same way you might act differently in front of your colleagues vs your friends vs your family, some celebrities might have different behaviours that they put on to suit the version of themselves that relate to their public career.
That being said Samuel L. Jackson had so much success with some of the characteristics of his earlier roles that he constructed them very successfully into his entire career persona.
I think Samuel L Jackson is pretty general. Look up the video of him roasting the news host that confused him with Lawrence Fishburne
Which was deserved. Thinking all Black men look alike is racist. And other than both being Black he and Lawrence Fishburne look nothing alike. It's like confusing Brad Pitt and Steve Buschemi

Tom Cruise if brainwashing counts
Who's assuming he had a personality to begin with? There's always been something about him that seems to be missing, from his earliest films on.
with the way he supports scientology i wonder what dirt they have on him through all those sessions he has had. l ron hubbard was very good at understanding how 'leverage' can be used on people.
Inwill never get why this religious nut is still getting so many roles. He is not even a good actor
Scientology has people pulling strings in the film industry. "Hire Tom Cruise or we'll run this production into the ground and destroy your reputation". A lot of money finds it's way back to Scientology from movies with actors/actresses/directors/producers affiliated with the cult.
Load More Replies...Tom Cruise is not a good actor in my opinion ... he is only good at dressing up (which is basically more the merit of the respective mask / costume designer. I haven't seen a single film with him so far that he wasn't just "himself" for the most part.
this isn't an insult, I'm not saying this just to use a word to be rude, but I genuinely think he's a sociopath (or whatever the clinical word is). I'm not saying he's done anything bad (I'm not saying he hasn't either) I'm just saying his eyes have always looked like they are not in the moment, but are reading the room so he can portray the right emotion. I seriously think that is a big part of why he's such a good actor, and also why he's been able to be so successful, but I think he probably doesn't experience emotions quite like the majority do.
Well in theory you can be a sociopath without necessarily wanting to murder so yeah it's possible. He seems narcissistic pd to me though

Love the person in the comments saying "people just hate him because he's Christian", as if the vast majority of celebrities in America aren't also Christian. It's not his God that's the problem, it's that he worships a version of that God that hates homosexuality. Openly and vocally. He also has a history of exposing himself to co-stars and is a massive fan of hunting. Eff the guy, he's a b*****d.

It's really like a cult! And at some moment church people have to realise that this crazy antisocial behavior pushes people away from religion so don't blame the new generations for being atheists! The only episode I ever watched was his episode with Tony Hawk. He spent the entire time trying to sell Tony on these supplements for joint health and s**t. Obviously, whatever Tony has been doing, is working just fine. Finally, just to get Joe to stop, Tony had to be like "Oh cool, I'll have to check that out". It was annoying to watch Tony have to deal with that. He obviously didn't care for that stuff.
Tony Hawk seems like the real deal. I don't care about skateboarding or x-games or whatever, but hearing interviews with him, and people's stories, shows he is an intelligent, kind, and genuine person.

I know for a fact that Cetherine Zeta Jones is a b**ch who treats regular people like complete s**t IRL. I used to work at Mandalay Bay in 2002 and she expected you to wait hand and foot on her and then zero tip for anything you did. Oversight is one thing as we understand that it happens with celebrities, but not to this extent.
Jeremy Piven is also a MAJOR A**HOLE IRL. When I was working at a cafe in Brentwood back in 2005 he was notorious for being a d**k to all the waitresses there. So much so that he had to be removed on more than one occasion.

Demi Lovato. I believed it after their overdose but the second documentary promoting an album, coming out as NB, the selective outrage…it just feels like they are desperate to stay in the headlines and stay relevant. They have such a stunningly beautiful voice and are so talented! I wish they felt like they could just relax and be themself. I used to really like them but now I just feel sad for them.
Yeah... I'm a recovering addict n have dealt with an ED most of my life.. I'm open about both of these things for the most part but the only fucken time I talk about them unprovoked is times like this. The fact that EVERYTIME they open their mouth it's either about their own ED or their addiction it just makes me think that they're either lying about it or exaggerating for attention. N I hate saying that s**t because I don't like minimizing ppl or their experiences... but I'm an addict... I've spent years around other addicts.... n never have I ever met anyone who talks about their addiction n ED as much as them.. even in fucken NA n rehab Havent met anyone who talks about their past issues as much as Demi does. Keep in mind I don't follow them, I don't seek out interviews from them... I literally avoid them at all cost... yet I still hear about their addiction more than I even think about my own. Jared Leto. I used to be a huge fan of his band (30 Seconds to Mars) back in the day. He seemed pretty genuine and passionate about art and activism, based on old interviews I had seen. As time has gone on, he seems really self-serving and egotistic, like he sees himself as some profound artist who is changing the world.
I don't like the hate he got for Joker but I also don't like that he refused to accept his portrayal wasn't the best...like dude it doesn't always work out...accept it...don't go constantly saying to release some uncut version.

I was a fan of his band when nobody even knew them, they were nice then. Always had heart for fans, would allow them to flock for pictures and autographs after concerts and when I was shy (I was overweight then) he hugged me and said I was important too. Cue to years later when they were famous and suddenly you couldn't stay after the concerts. Their tickets were insane prices and he had the weird Adventures In Wonderland where you had to pay a lot to meet them and get the pictures and autographs. And you could only get them to sign their newest CD which you had to buy. It was all about the money. I had lost weight, a lot, so I was lucky enough to get picked for the soundcheck for free and he hit on me. Old enough to be my dad. Not a fan anymore.
Actually met him, in the restaurant I used to work at. Really nice guy, took photos with al the staff.
Anne Hathaway, but I guess it doesn’t count if she’s been recorded being a prick to her staff behind the scenes. In Japan, she was voted worst celebrity to work with lol
Anyone know if this is actually true? Seems like any celebrity that is female and had a bad day or just objects to being treated badly is slapped with this label, so I'm always a little skeptical.
I looked it up, and I found nothing about Japan voting Anne Hathaway that. Without any concrete proof, it's best not to believe this submission - and I request you all to judge the rest of the submissions with this mindset: if you can't find any proof of the submissions with a simple Google Search, then you're not inclined to believe it.

I don't believe that Anne Hathaway isn't anything but a fine actress and a good person.
I apologise if I missed something and it is indeed an error on my part, but I googled this and found nothing. Nothing relevant to this submission. I found nothing about Japan having a system where they judge American celebrities on the basis of how easy they are to work with - plus, I feel Japanese folks have better things to do. In fact, when I googled about Anne Hathaway being in Japan, this is what I found: "Fans in Tokyo greeted the actress and even gifted her with a stuffed My Little Pony toy as she arrived at the airport." I agree. Larry's comedy is also not my taste, but his wife's family is from where I live and the couple have a home here. I have friends who have done work for them. I have never heard anybody who has met William Shatner ever say a nice thing about him. Which is weird, because he just has the face of a person who seems likable to me. I've heard a lot of people say Adam West was a HUGE d**k, but I met him more than once, and he was incredibly kind, complimented my outfit, let me take a picture with him, AND gave me an autograph. I try not to bother people, and I hated being that guy (even when I was younger and dumber), but he was at a convention when I did stop him, and he was incredibly cool with it.
Interestingly enough, I have met both Shatner and Adam West. First off, out of the Trek cast members that I have met Shatner was one of the kindest, honestly! No one beats Jonathan Frakes on that front though. Sweetest guy ever. So was Robert Duncan McNeill. He was the absolute nicest guy ever.. Brent Spiner is another story. That being said, Adam West is a colossal asshole.
Nicest of the Trek cast that I ever met was George Takei. He was probably the nicest celeb I have ever met. (I did not get to meet him but my husband was working one of the Trek conventions and actually got to have dinner with James Doohan and said he was the best... people working at the restaurant wanted his autograph so he started taking the cloth napkins off the table and signing them for everyone.)
Load More Replies...I've met William Shatner (at his birthday bash at the Star Trek "museum" in Ticonderoga NY). We stood in line for two hours to get a signed photo. By the time we got to him, I was tired and in a lot of pain (chronic pain disorders). He had just turned 90yo and had been sitting there for longer than I stood in line. He smiled and was incredibly gracious, though he certainly was as tired as I was, and likely also in pain. Very personable to his fans.
I've met him too and he was kind to me and I observed him interacting with others for a few hours too and he was kind to them and rather gracious. Someone at the event approached him to tell him how much ST meant to her late dad and inadvertently started crying taking about him, he asked about her he got emotional and gave her a hug. Maybe he's temperamental and divaish to work with but then most actors are. I don't think he's a bad person.

My wife and her friend randomly were eating at the same restaurant as Jason Mraz a few years ago. Despite publicly talking up the benefits of his raw food/vegan diet, they watched him down two cheeseburgers at a place that doesn't serve veggie burgers.
Well, personally I think it doesn't need to be a 100% vegan diet. I prefer a 80% 90% vegan diet, and some meat here, some fish there once in a while, etc ... should be fine. If I already have vegan food from Monday to Saturday, I would enjoy a good meat burger on Sunday then.
but he is public about saying that he is fully vegan and the benefits of it, so that makes him just trying to seem great.
Load More Replies...As someone who eats about 90% vegan, I feel like we should be normalising this. Like any change in eating habits, you don’t have to do it 100% of the time for it to have an effect.
Sure, but then you call yourself a flexitariër - you eat whatever you want to, sometimes vegan, sometimes meat. You do not go on rants about how all you eat is raw and vegan only. And he did.
Load More Replies...I don’t know this person, but does he claim to be a vegan or is he just advocating the benefits of raw/vegan food? I’m a meat eater, but more often than not I just eat vegetables and I do believe that eating raw food is good for you (not necessarily all meat though, but you can eat beef raw, for instance Steak Tartare). It worked for our ancestors.
I think if you're going to eat everything, don't call yourself a vegan or vegetarian. If you eat meat, you're not either. Call yourself and omnivore or a flexitarian, but calling yourself a vegan because you eat 90% plant based is just wrong.
Or, and hear me out, his diet is none of your business and he can eat what the hell ever he wants, for any reason and doesn't owe you, or anyone, else an explanation. It's not like he claimed loyalty to the vegan throne for gods sake, he just wanted a cheeseburger or two, or six. Who cares? His leniency of the "rules" of veganism in know way reflects of YOUR idea of what is "correct" or not.
Load More Replies...First of all, you have no idea what the restaurant prepared for him. Just because there are no veggie burgers on the standard menu it does not mean that Jason Mraz cannot get them there. Secondly, it is none of your business anyway!
The vast majority of country music stars are not “country” in any sense of the word. Most came from rich families.
I mean....most rock music stars don't live under rocks either. Our music taste has nothing to do with where or how we're born.
That doesn't make sense, since "rock" refers to the motion of rocking, not stones, whereas "country" is called so because it originated in, and reflects the culture of, the rural parts of the U.S.

Nicki Minaj. I mean she might be this weird woman who does sexual music videos. But she did donate to an Indian village without making much of a fuss about it.
She's also married to a rapist who refuses to register as a sex offender and the BOTH of them have been harassing n trying to intimidate the woman he raped n they've been trying to get her to like... revoke her claims even though it doesn't matter if she recants or not because he's already been convicted.... also, her brother was a rapist ... he raped an 11year old girl n she has vehemently supported him throughout all of it n now he's in prison for 25 years. So she may donate here n there and occasionally do good things for others... but as a whole ASS person... she's a rapist sympathizer, rape victim bully n has done more messed up s**t than good s**t. She's also a misogynist n religiously tears down other women to boost herself up, especially women who are more talented than her. She's a horrible person. Honestly speaking, good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things. It’s not enough to look at one specific instance, you have to look at the entire picture of their character. Actions speak louder than words, especially those actions that are done to those around the person in daily life - and even more when dealing with those that work “beneath“ the person.

She is a Scientologist however, and the backlash to her golden globes speech is a little evidence that people are waking up to this. She also smokes a ton, but I bet most famous people do that. Not that that is a "bad" thing, but it's never an image that actors want to portray.
If ppl don't know what speech/why there was backlash over it.. here's a link to explain it. I didn't know about this happening either so I had to google it https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5246497/amp/Scientologist-actor-Elisabeth-Moss-criticized-speech.html
Elizabeth Moss has 2 expressions...angst and fear...beyond those she can't act for s**t!!!
I can't stand any organised religion really, they're all made up control mechanisms and I'd love to see a day where there wasn't any. This criticism of her though just seems to be that she must be a hypocrite because the bosses of her religion ignored some sex abuse therefore she can't be a feminist. Did she run the religion? Was she involved in any of the sweeping under the carpet of any allegations? Why are we holding every day catholics or say mormons to account for what the leaders did/didn't do in similar circumstances? no one appears to call out every catholic that advocates for equality saying they're hypocrites if they call out sexism. If a catholic movie star said something about poverty for instance, would the press have jumped on them so heavily just because the leaders of that religion hold and control some of the most wealth in the world? nah this just smacks of cherry picking who you focus on just because you wanna find something..anything at all to bring them dow
You could say that corporations, government and big business are the new religions these days and as openly corrupt as they are, the majority of people still embrace it wholeheartedly.

She's just playing a characters in public I bet she's not even slightly the sake person at home.
I never particularly liked her until I saw that video clip where an interviewer asked her which she'd pick if she had to choose between (I think) make-up and her phone. She called him out and asked him if he really thinks that's all girls care about. Then he asked her how long she can go without looking at her phone. She said many hours, when she's spending time with friends she likes to be present and not be on her phone (I'm paraphrasing). Then he said something like that other girls can learn from her, and she said boys can learn too, everyone can learn. After that, I have *massive* respect for her.
Literally everyone, wearing a face that we keep in a jar by the door.
Yes, bc that is her job. And no matter how much $$ you make, you aren't expected to be "on" 24 hours a day.
You bet? Isn't this list for people who KNOW? Just guessing and throwing out crappy opinions doesn't count. Sorry. Have you worked with her? Then do tell! Guessing is just gossip and petty.
the fact that the world generally loves pretty, sexy women over the smart, generous ones especially in celebrities' is soo stupid.
Shes not skilled enough to play a character, she started off on shitty Disney live action shows. They can have great writing on their animated shows but totally s**t the bed when most of those same voice actors are acting in a actual show
First, she was on Nickelodeon and second, she started on Broadway when she was 13. She then went to Victorious, Sam and Cat, and then as far as I know never acted on Nickelodeon again. Also, I'm sorry but she has to be at least a little skilled judging by the fact that she has two albums in the top 5 most streamed female albums on Spotify, and is currently the most subscribed woman on Instagram. I've heard exactly 3 of her songs, and you can't deny that she is at least talented.

Load More Replies...I hate to give him the “celebrity status,” but NikoAvocado. He use to weigh 200+ pounds less than he does now, could play violin and was just an average man. Then, he started Mukbang’s, and saw how many views he got. The crazier the video, the more views he would get. But unfortunately, it seems he is stuck in this lifestyle. He’s physically in terrible shape, I don’t even know where to start mentally. Everyone can hate that sack of potatoes but I honestly hope he finds peace and doesn’t destroy his life for views of youtube.
Here's an interesting article about him that I read: https://www.insider.com/who-is-youtube-star-nikocado-avocado-2020-1 . Very sad and inetresting. I hope he gets better soon.
The Rock’s “aw shucks” routine is getting old. If you pay close attention, you realize it’s an act and the second you go against him the conversation will not be amicable.
I’m not the poster but I actually sort of agree with it. I can’t remember which interview and what year it was from but it was on a British talk show called The Jonathan Ross show. I remember thinking “oh, that’s a bit off” in response to something the host said.
Load More Replies...I've seen a few of his bounce back videos aimed at helping kids seek help for mental health problems. Even if you think it is an act - he does them, he does them well and I know them to have helped at least a few kids. If the rock can say he has had problems, anyone can. And I'm not talking about interviews - I have never seen any - I'm talking about videos shown in schools aimed at children. So I'm going to say, well done him.
Hilaria Baldwin is a pretty obvious one if she even counts as a celeb
I know she's full of s**t, because she's my cousin. She doesn't have a single gene of Spanish ethnicity in her.
John Elway has a huge reputation in the service industry in Colorado. He supposedly doesn't tip and treats staff like s**t.
If you don't "believe " in tipping saying that the employer should pay a living wage when are they going to realize that they are not screwing over the restaurant. You are screwing over the server who just PAID for you to eat there since the government taxes the tips you supposedly made.
He's John Elway. He knows what tipping is. And I hope your rant about not tipping for some ideological, "But the restaurant owners should pay!" crap helps you justify your cheapness. I'm sure the servers would be so glad to know it's not a personal attack.
Load More Replies...Fred Durst. He looks and acts like an idiot in all his music videos, but he is ex-armed forces and doesn't take himself seriously at all. He freely admits to playing an idiot on TV.
I can't with Fred. He looks so much like my ex's doofus cousin, who really is an idiot.
Fred Durst was very polite to me. He said "Excuse me Ma'am" when he passed by me.
Kanye. He's a very disciplined performance, I can't believe he's like that in real life.
From what I've seen and heard, Conor McGregor is WAY more chill when there are no cameras around
I wish that I could give you a double multiplier for every like that comes your way after that comment.
Load More Replies...He is not chill. He's a pretty f****d up guy. Drug use doesn't help. In Dublin 2019, he assaulted a 52 year old man who refused to sample his brand of whiskey.
SO what you're saying is when the cameras are on, he likes to beat up civilians, but when they're off, he's a cool dude. Got it.
Can't be chill when he hits an 80 year old man for being honest about his whisky.
I can...& sometimes do....act like Richard the lionhearted....or...just another d**k...but I never lead with that...no reason to start your day in that mindset....
Had a baby in same hospital, same time his gf was in to have her son. A midwife I spoke to afterwards had been there for the birth. Apparently he was very nice and he didn't want to leave when visiting hours were over. He actually started crying and slept in his car overnight. Although they had to tell him to move because he'd parked in the ambulance bay.
TLDR: He parked in a hospital ambulance bay.
Load More Replies...Supposedly Die Antwoord is essentially putting on a really intense and deep art show and their entire persona is a complete act. If you think about it that is insane dedication. They're also covered in ridiculous tattoos.
They have been accused of sex trafficking https://medium.com/@theroarofburningmemories/we-need-to-talk-about-what-is-happening-with-die-antwoord-now-6665305fc366
they were recorded saying F*g once. Coming from a shock group with a white dude who doesn't mind throwin the N word around, Im surprised they havnt found themselves in even more s**t
Load More Replies...They yelled at a norwegian reporter when he asked if their persona and performances is just a type of art performance
Part of this persona is that they’re ‘white Afrikaans trash’. Except Ninja went to a really good all-boys private school in Joburg. And is 100% English
Yup, can attest to this, met Waddy back in the day, when he was just a pretty normal guy trying to forge a music career. Guess he found his niche smh.
I've read somewhere Jake Gyllenhaal puts on a fake public persona. Which is sad to me. I love that guy.
my friends mother is very good firends with jake gyllenhaal. like since childhood and he is a very nice guy like for real
After hearing All Too Well 10 min, I can't stand him. He seems like a jerk!
deerrp, yah are you said younger women go for older men now? F**k sakes my god parents are my uncle whos younger than my dad and his only wife is 20 years older than him..... But golly gee whizz Jake was TEN WHOLE YEARS OLDER THAN SOMEONE WHO WAS A F*****G ADULT

Oops. Only her personal assistant. Everything was relayed through her
This is common knowledge (there are LOADS of stories about her nasty and rude behaviour on flight crew forums. So many that they simply can’t all be lying). And James Corden, yes it’s common knowledge to us Brits. It’s why it has left us baffled that his fake self has managed to carve a successful career in the USA, but hey, it works for us and he’s taken off our hands.
Megan Markle - so called tv actress who has managed to snag a royal, appears to a bit of a dominant one
Somehow a lot of racists still have problems with her because she married with a white prince and they both decided to give the royal family the finger and leave the sh!t show.
No one has a problem with her race. Rather they have a problem with her assumimg that she knows everything including how a thousand year old institution should be run after spending all of 15 minutes being part of it. Good riddance to both of them.
Load More Replies...'so-called tv actress'? She's been in numerous films and tv shows, one of them running for around 7-8years...all of which she auditioned successfully for and then managed to be good enough at the job to hold them down. How many more would she have had to succeed in before you'd drop the 'so-called' from before actress?
Funny that you say that. She's been a successful actress and has her own money.
Load More Replies...Megan Markle playing the race card??????? How about a f*****g bitch
The biggest problem with this overly american actress is that her narcissistic attitude is the only thing keeping her relevant.
You'd have to be to have that much persuasion and influence of a prince.
A dominant one... of what? And again, with the guessing and petty comments. DO YOU KNOW HER? HAVE YOU WORKED WITH HER? No? Oh really? Then shut it.
I don't particularly like her one way or the other, but I can't say I blame her for wanting to get away from Britain and their super-weird and gross tabloid culture. Seriously, what is up with that s**t? It's the meanest gossip bullshit I've ever seen. GROSS AND WEIRD.
Here is a thread of unsubstantiated rumours, baseless theories and questionable anecdotes...cause...
No kidding. We just want to hate those we loved, I guess. No way for famous people to just be people.
Load More Replies...No one going to mention Boris Johnson. He built his whole career by faking a loveable, bumbling, good natured buffoon persona. Before the cameras came on, whenever he was on a TV programme, he would check his hair in the monitor to see it was the right amount of ruffled. The first time I saw him on HIGNFY I could see he was fake and expected him to get a poor reception, but the general public fell for it. Then he became Mayor of London and now look where we are.
"Thriving", is it? And that's why the number of UK folk applying for Irish citizenship has increased 2000%?
Load More Replies...Met Jeff Bridges when he showed up at my movie theatre on a school day; introduced himself as JJ (sadly I forget his wife's name), he was so nice and approachable, tipped me $5 just for chatting with them before their movie. Hilariously, he was wearing a Big Lebowski 'The Dude' t-shirt.
I've met Michael Jackson (a number of times) as well as his sisters Janet and La Toya. Janet was a bitch. La Toya was sweet and Michael was so humble. He smelt incredible too
I enjoyed realizing that towards the bottom of the list.
Load More Replies...What a terrible thread. Pretty much trashing celebrities and pretenders.
Back when I was a teen, my dad had a busineß trip in Miami and he brought me along. We stayed at a hotel that had a no tipping policy due to the amount celebs that stayed there. While having a lunch in the hotel restaurant, we saw Whitney Houston. As a teen, I was excited. What happened next made me despise her. She asked for ice water. The waiter brought it to her. Apparently the water was not cold enough. She threw the water at the waiter and screamed tirads at him and calling him everything but his name. It was then I realized on why Whitney's man treated her the way he did. It has been over 30 years and I still refuse to listen to her music.
my mom waitressed the dead milkmen one time, GIANT jerks that refused to tip and made sexual comments at her the entire time.
Well, when I saw them their opening act (The Dickies) was much better than they were, so I guess they deserve that.
