While most are pretty normal, the Twitter account The Best of Zillow consistently finds some funny, ridiculous, and downright strange ones, too.
These, let's call them, solutions, are a testament to human creativity and proof that what someone finds tasteful can make another sigh in disapproval.
But hey, ultimately, your home is your castle. Just because shelter is a necessity doesn't mean it has to be boring. Just remember that eccentric ideas are often harder to sell.

Everyone who has been scrolling through real estate listings must've noticed the climbing prices. Over the past two years, the housing market has experienced extreme demand and limited supply.
At the same time, inflation has ballooned across the world, including in the U.S. To get it under control, the Federal Reserve started raising interest rates in March 2022, making borrowing more expensive on top of higher base prices.
In 2020, the average list price on an American home was $374,500, with interest rates on 30-year mortgages sitting at 3.11%.
Today, the average interest rate is 7.06%, with the average home price up to $525,000.

It's still a bit too early to decide if home prices are on a downward trend. While there tends to be a seasonal downward shift as summer wears on, this year the numbers were larger than the average.
Usually, we see a decrease of 2% from June through August, but this year it was 6%, which could be promising for would-be buyers.

However, it's important to analyze these numbers in a broader context. In August 2022 prices were 7.7% higher than they were at the same time in 2021.
This means that looking from a longer-term perspective, home prices could still be rising. We'll have to wait to see the fall and winter numbers to have a more definitive understanding of the market.

I like the ceiling in the kitchen area. Nothing else. I think I'd develop some kind of seizure disorder in the room with all the zebra stripes. If have nightmares about the should of all the unnecessarily killed animals chasing me. I have no problem with hunting, if you use / eat what you kill, or if you're kíllìng a dangerous, invasive species that needs to be removed from an ecosystem. This just looks like a rich azzwhole who gets off on killing stuff

People spend millions of dollars to build & furnish this house & the others. All for different reasons, each is a horror house in its own way. So we can't afford to feed or educate children, prenatal care for mothers, healthcare or housing but it's important not to tax the rich so they can waste money on these monstrosities, who the next rich person will buy to build their own version of waste.

We just viewed a house that was nice all the way through until we got to the basement and couldn't figure out where some of the missing square footage seemed to be. Finally found a set of double doors back in a nook, opened it up to literal hell on earth. Inside were was a room full of dead animals: 10 sets of elephant tusks, 2 stuffed lions, a stuffed giraffe head, rhinos, zebras, boars etc. heads on all 4 walls. It was the most shocking thing I've ever seen. I'm guessing the surgeon who lived there had spent hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more for that "trophy room" and all the expensive safaris he must have taken to kill so many majestic & beautiful animals. You couldn't have sold me that house for $1 though it was listed for close to a million. It was tainted and ruined for me & most likely haunted.

What horrible two estate agent would let them list it line that???? That c**p is all movable.
One of the reasons why prices remain so high is that there is a shortage of inventory.
While new builds increased by 12.2% in August, this is partially attributed to supply chain issues.
Many builders were simply unable to get the supplies they needed to work on their projects, and many of these supplies finally made it to them at the tail end of summer in one big burst.

I think a home should be decorated in a way that makes the people living there as happy as possible. Regardless of whether other people think it's ugly or tasteless. Because that doesn't matter, you don't live there so your opinion is irrelevant. Unfortunately, sometimes it feels like everyone thinks like this: "You want your house decor to make you happy? You silly person, house decor is not to make YOU happy, it doesn't matter that this is YOUR taste, what matters is the taste of the general population. Even if they only see it on the internet and will never be inside your house anyway. Conformity to other people's taste is way more important than your own happiness."
