The premise is simple: it collects memorable, high-quality images of rooms. The rooms, however, are anything but. From a clocktower in Brooklyn to a secluded cabin in the forest, they utilize everything the place to offer, creating an enthralling atmosphere you'd really like to soak in. As in, you wouldn't just visit these rooms, you'd gladly return to them time and time again. Continue scrolling and check out what I mean for yourself.

I used to clean houses. One house I cleaned had a library set up just like this. Windows on 3 sides of the room, a livingroom set up, desks and seating area, and lots of books. If only I could afford a place like that, I'd be in heaven.

To learn more about what makes a room great and interior design in general, Bored Panda got in touch with designer, stylist, and content creator Luke Arthur Wells. He said that function has got to be at the base of a room design. "No matter how good a room looks, if you haven't got the basics right including the spatial planning and the flow of the space, you won't enjoy using it and you'll want to change it again quickly," he said. "The details, such as ensuring there's enough room between furniture and walls and doors for you to traverse the space, or getting the layout of your kitchen appliances right so that you can cook efficiently, don't necessarily have to have a negative bearing on the aesthetic of the room."

However, function is usually not the concept people are most excited about when it comes to settling in. It's form. "This part is more creative and less measured than the functional aspect of the space," Wells said. "It's about creating a space that reflects you and offers a sanctuary from the outside world when you need it. While functionality is at the core of a scheme, that doesn't mean that you can't opt for objects that contribute to the aesthetic more than they fit the purpose of the space."

The designer offered the coffee table in his own living room as an example. It's huge, blocky, and too heavy for one person to lift—not very functional. However, it strikes the balance between a design he loves and the drawbacks that may come from this style of furniture.

Essentially, it all boils down to balance. "If you can get function and form to meet, then that's great design, but I think you need to strike a compromise between the two when they're in conflict. No space is going to be completely perfection function-wise and you may have to shift away from your dream scheme if it means your space is going to be less usable."

"Of course, there are design styles where form and function sit perfectly together," Wells added. "The Bauhaus movement, which has seen a style revival over the last few years, prioritized function over form in furniture design, but now these designs are coveted more for their good looks than their functional nature."

The most upvoted rooms in the subreddit are usually those where both function and form are intertwined: if it belongs to a building in the countryside, you often get huge, panoramic windows, "extending" the space into the outdoors, blurring the line between the two. If the room is situated in a 100-year-old house in the old town, it might preserve a little something from its original design, hinting at its rich history. You get the idea. In its 9 years of existence, the subreddit has grown to over 1.1 million members, and judging by the way they engage with its content, I think there's room to get even bigger.

I love this as I have always dreamed of having a lovely conservatory that 'brings the outside in' like this . As a lover of all things green and natural and tranquil it is my idea of something magical. So relaxing and it would be so lovely listening to the bird singing in the garden outside. Simple, but often simple things are the best.

And having each light fixture be a different shape and color is really just too much. It’s like the designer had a lot of good ideas and then decided to use them all. Not really as good as it may seem.

How is this not higher?! I love the balance between the neutral color palette and the very warm, plush, inviting contours of the seating. The color palette lets that spectacular view do the talking. But it would feel cold if the lines were angular; squishy-looking couches are just the thing here. I love this design.

Marrakech was the worst place I visited in my two months in Morocco. Relentless pressure to buy stuff and be shown the sights. I left the day after I arrived. I really liked Meknès, which afforded a much better look at Moroccan life than Fez.

I traveled alone in Marrakech for a week and it was really great! Like Andrew said you just have to fit in, tlk with locals, take your time to meet people... they don't have issue with french but like anybody else they like when you try to speak their language and show interest in their daily lives and culture. I was invited to eat and to drink tea by a lot of locals, they are really kind and welcoming.

It’s a modernist bathroom with a clean, sleek look. While a claw foot tub is awesome, I don’t think it would necessarily fit here with the other fixtures imo

It is Istanbul not Constantinople. It has been Istanbul for centuries it was conquered half a century before even the first European reached to America we don't see anyone call any north or South American city/ place with their formal names so why so determined to do it about Istanbul? It is unbelievably rude.

@Anna McHugh, you wouldn't be saying 'lol' if you were there. The explosion killed at least 200 people and injured 5,000 more. I'm talking about women, men, children. Civilians, nurses, and firefighters were killed. One firefighter was about to be married. She was killed when she ran to fight the fires. Many citizens said that the people near the site of the blast were reduced to charcoal. C h a r c o a l. This explosion ruined the "Paris of the Middle East." It became a symbol of the corruption in the Lebanese government. You wouldn't be saying 'lol' if you were there. Even the photos are gut-wrenching. There were photos of a wrecked hospital. Blood was splashed onto the walls. There was a photo of a sailor who survived the blast. His legs were reduced to shreds. So many lives were lost in the explosion. And you have the audacity to say 'lol?'

Oh God, who the hell would say that? What this Anna said, I mean! It was horrific watching all the different security camera, CCTV, home video footage of it all! There was absolutely nothing "lol" about it, jeezo! The hospital footage was devastating! The video of the bride was heartbreaking! There was absolutely nothing to "lol" about it! My thoughts are with everyone affected by it ❤️❤️❤️

Absolutely love the canopy bed. Gorgeous view of the water. I would be absolutely terrified that the glass would break.

I feel the same. I can see myself desperately balancing on the wooden frame/beam areas as opposed to stepping on the glass at all. :P

To simplify, it's like a box with mirrors, optics and LED projector which simulate natural light by high technology. There's even a simulation of the plane trail, amazing stuff.

Yeah, I don't like the way the sitting area backs up to the stairs. Makes it seem not so cozy and almost a bit institutional.

Believe it or not, Hamptons has some really cute bungalows and smaller condos! They are a bit pricey, of course...but it is not all mansions and massive beach estates there!

It’s got something to do with the website’s formatting. I noticed that it Capitalises Every Word In The Heading, but won’t let you have a capital letter anywhere else. So you’d get away with ‘Mac Donald’, but it would turn ‘MacDonald’ into ‘Macdonald’.

This cannot possibly be the Central Station in Detroit. That building has been an abandoned hulk since it closed several decades ago. You can find it on most Ruin Porn websites. It was purchased by the Ford Motor Company several years ago.

It's in the process of being renovated right now. I live in the area and have looked at that building for decades wondering why we would ever let such a beautiful building slowly die so I'm very happy to see it ready to bloom. It's really a gorgeous building.
