Digression here re: Ant-Man: OK, changing size by varying the atomic spacing is iffy, but it's a comic book from the 60s. Mass is more problematical, and the movie didn't do a good job explaining it. But CERN's LHC proved the existence of the Higgs Boson / Higgs Field, which gives rise to Mass. The real genius bit of the Pym Particles is that they act as a *Polarizer* to control how strongly the covered objects interact with the Higgs Field, allowing Hank and Scott to dial their mass up and down as needed. (Back in the old days of Marvel Comics, this *might* have qualified for a No-Prize.)
