One of the biggest disputes you will always find online is which decade takes the trophy as the one responsible for the worst fashion trends. Today, one of the most common opinions is that 2000s fashion was truly the master of bad outfits. But while the early aughts did have their fair share of questionable outfits and trends, a lot of people will argue that the ’80s and the ’90s weren’t any better. Others might say that whatever is in fashion today is the most hideous style since the 15th century hennin.
As with any other matters of taste, fashion styles are a subjective issue. Often, when something new becomes trendy in fashion today, we are very excited to try it out, but a decade later — or sometimes as soon as just a couple of years — we look back at the trend and seriously question everyone’s sanity for ever choosing to wear it.

Growing up I heard this style originated with people in prison using this as a sign they were open for physical intimacy. So i looked it up, turns out this did originate from the prison system, but due to giving inmate clothes that didn't fit and belts not being allowed due to suicide prevention.

I used to wear jeans which were ripped at the knees in the 1980s, but only because they were worn through and I was too cheap to buy a new pair. I stopped when I noticed it was becoming a trend among celebrities

I'm pretty short and slim, I've always looked awful in shoulder pads because it just looks so out of place

This is absolutely fine as long as the employer provides the uniform clothing and laundry thereof. Here in Switzerland most work crews will always be immaculate in their clean matching company-branded overalls - if you spot a building worker in stained ripped street clothing it's likely they'll be investigated as a possible illegal immigrant.

alot of the people commenting need to realise that alot of people dress the way that they do as self expression, not for 40-60 yr olds on the internet. you sound just like the people who used to shame what you wore as a teen, its not diffrent.
