There I was driving and the pole jumped right out in front of my car....
There is a gravesite like this somewhere. They couldn't get permission to move the body, so there is (IIRC) and 8 X 4 divided highway just there; the rest is regular 1-lane-each-way country back road.
There should be a double solid line down the middle of the road...NoPassingZone!
And not a dent anywhere upon its surface.....Go figure. I certainly hope this isn't in the U.S. I know our roads can be awful, but really...really?
Councils sometimes do this with new subdivision developments when the new wires will eventually run underground. They don't remove to power pokes until there are enough new subdivisions to justify the cost. I've never seen one that far out in the road though.
Just wrap some yellow caution tape around the bottom and it will be safe and legal.
What would it cost the city a whole $5.50 to add a flashing light on it for crying out loud.
