Twitter has become, once again, a battleground for the boomers and Gen Z’ers. The younger members of Twitter are just shooting off funny boomer tweets left and right. And to be honest, they are hilarious. On the surface, these funny tweets are just that — innocent. Thankfully, due to the lack of knowledge of modern technologies, many boomers are left reading funny tweets on Twitter and not tweeting themselves. But why are Gen Z and boomers battling each other, even on Twitter?
As with every rivalry — they all start with different understandings of humor. Boomer humor is the encapsulation of the 20th century. Old, like 100 years old. Jokes back then included “sir” and “ma’am” in almost every punch line. Now Gen Z humor is the pinnacle of the 21st century, using up a joke till it loses all meaning. Twitter is the best place for this kind of humor. Some of the funniest tweets came from the younger audience because they can make fun of themselves by accepting that they won’t reach the heights that boomers did. But they also like to remind them that the future is now [old man] and it belongs to them.
So, if you are out looking for some of the funniest tweets today that involve that boomer/Gen Z humor, we got you covered! We have collected a set of boomer tweets for you to enjoy. Upvote the tweets that threw some shade at the boomer audience. Don't agree with the idea in a tweet? Be sure to leave a comment down below.

Hey, leave the Nigerian Prince alone, he just wants to give you all the money. Good guy, I trust him with my entire retirement, so should you.
Damn, funny. Unfortunately,my in-laws did listen to those lying bastards.

Nigerian Prince: Hey, we are Facebook friends. She WANTED to lend me her money.
I heard a study today that both Boomers and Gen Z are equally bad with cyber security.
Nah. I just threaten to send 'em a link to my OnlyFans. Sometimes they leave skid marks.
Joke's on OP. Statistics show that the boomer generation catches the least viruses and trojans and uses the most cybersecurity products. Followed by older millenials and Gen-Z follows last. This includes things like using the same password for multiple accounts and risky behaviors like account sharing. FYI - my job is CISO - chief information security officer and I dealt with this stuff daily. And remember Gates, Jobs, Wozniak, the inventor of the www are all boomers. And fun fact: women use the internet with more caution and use better protection than men. (irl also I guess)
Yeah, but, we had to carve all our term papers with a chisel.
Load More Replies...So true!! Many of these folks who became parents decades ago received a Lot of financial help, including free childcare. Later generations didn't enjoy those same perks, which either weren't available or came w/ endless strings attached that included an Unhealthy lack of boundaries. But i digress... Boomers received So Much help along the way. But then, as their own kids started to plan for Life after H.S., too many Boomer parents selfishly told them "You'll appreciate it more if you do it all by yourselves, w/o our help". They felt entitled to Not help or plan for the future, not even for their own kids. Not talking poor families, but solidly middle class or higher. Many parents even continue to profit, via their stock portfolios, from the same high interest rate loans their own kids won't be able to pay off till middle age. Succeeding financially today requires that someone else gets screwed over or ripped off. Quality, charity, integrity, truth... these long-cherished virtues seemingly no longer matter. Worse yet,, Christians have fallen victim to the very same Idolatry (i.e. tRumpism) they were warned so strongly to Avoid. Thanks a ton, Boomers. Up is down now, thanks to y'all. Or, most of y'all. The Modern Boomer mindset is an unspoken admission that these folks felt Entitled to the help they received, then Corrupted their own society for profit. It's their way of indirectly admitting, "I had it easy, and that turned me into a Self-centered P*ick. I don't want that to happen to you". They can't come out & say those words, but there's the true meaning. Later gens will do better b/c we're nauseated by their hypocrisy, by their cold self-interest, and determined to do a heck of a lot more for our own kids, and everyone else's, Too. Our parents' & grandparents' legacy now? Besides a dying planet? It's our understanding that other people Do matter...a lesson too many Boomers somehow missed. Empathy matters just as much as those other lost virtues. We need to get them back, to save ourselves, and have a better future for those unborn the Far Right so "cherish" (until they're born, breathing, feeling & suffering).
Carpet was the kitchen of my childhood home when we moved in... my mom tore it up, and voila, perfectly beautiful hardwood flooring! Who puts carpet in the kitchen? Weirdos!
Oh, I know this one. It was a trend in the early’70’s that went bad. Bad as any trend could. People said they had never done it, but they lied. Actually the original kitchen carpet was super great and easy to clean. Warm in winter, cool in summer. Then they cheapened it and it became so nasty no one wanted it as it wouldn’t clean. Ours was the good stuff and was beautiful etc for about 20 years before replacement with wood.
Load More Replies...Boomers ripped up more carpets our parents had installed over hardwood than we laid anew. But who bothers to get history right these days? Actually, we do deserve the blame for multicolored shag carpets. Sorry.
Someone that got tired of paying five times more than necessary for the heat bill.
That's an 80s trend that needs to be boxed up, sealed up, and dropped into the ocean to rebuild a dying reef. Resurrect 80s Big Hair if you must, but leave that old style in obscurity.

Load More Replies...LOL my dad used to say that about the Boomers back when they were hippies! He wondered why they all claimed they wanted to be individuals but dressed all alike. I'm the last year of Baby Boomers & I had to stop eating lunch with coworkers since they were all complaining about millenials, even thought I think they really meant Gen Z. Gen X had a lot to do with the capitalist attitude - they were raised on attitudes & movies like Wall Street (Greed is Good!) & movies about how to get laid or run a brothel from your house while your parents aren't at home. They kept telling us that pure capitalism & no regulations would work for everyone, but didn't mention getting rid of the government protection of a corporation. I just recently looked up the history & creation of the corporate structure. It wasn't originally for private companies.
I don’t have a square to spare. I can’t spare a square.
Load More Replies...If us boomers have anything to say about millennials it should be that we raised them wrong if we're so upset.

Or perhaps you mean why did you build America into the strongest country on Earth?
America ruined itself, with its self-entitlement and superiority complex.
The ruin of America has been very recent actually. And I'm a millennial I think. But I'm pretty sure it was us and gen z for real. Downvote idc

Load More Replies...Umm, a huge number of Boomers were secretaries and can type much faster than Gen Y-Z...
I don't get this one either. I am not a boomer but Xennial. The generations before me had typewriting classes in school. I bet they type a lot faster than Gen Z which is good in swiping on the mobile and sometimes tablets but not in actual keyboards.
What do we want? To live in a society with clean air, clean water, access to affordable healthcare, a livable wage, and affordable housing. When do we want it? Now, please 😏
Even my country that has been voted to be the happiest countries many times in a row, is getting ruined because of climate change :(
Load More Replies...Yes, it is the perfect meme. At times, it also just feels like, "Ok Boomer" is said to every. single. person. younger than the speaker.
I don’t qualify as a boomer (too young) but to be fair they probably do get upset about being called a boomer. Snowflakes get upset about absolutely everything else. I sit in the middle smiling to myself.
If by "everything else" you mean the climate crisis, human rights violations across the world, racism that could fit in the 1950s, and the mental health issues that are finally getting attention (because they can be as life threatening as any other disease) then yes. Yes we do get upset.
Load More Replies...lol ... you mean human rights violations like segregated fountains, pools, schools, and buses, or not having right to vote when we could get drafted, or being denied careers in science, or being committed to psych hospital by husbands wanting to party? Imagine your lives if we had not changed those things.
Honestly, that's better than people who rate only 1 or 5 stars to "balance out the negative/positive reviews"
"I rated this place one star so it wouldnt get lost in the sea of five stars" No, Sharon, that's not how it works.
Load More Replies...Its the moving goalpost mentality :\ My boomer boss told me that because i meet all my deadlines, clear all my work on time everyday and go home on the dot, that means i'm not a hardworker and need to "increase my efficiency".
Because in our world, five stars means perfect, and nothing is perfect.
If that was true, five stars wouldn't exist. Six is perfect. Five is really, really good. Most things that are being rated five are fours.
Load More Replies...Don't know a single boomer who rates these places. Or believes ratings. How weird.
Boomer culture is NOT playing your music on said iphone without headphones that capture the noise.
lol ...this from the generation that plays WAP full volume on the train?
It will eventually. Fresh water supplies are diminishing on a global scale, which means more water restrictions & a very thirsty lawn. Although I can see boomers completely disregarding the restrictions, watering their whole property anyway, while running their ridiculously ugly cherub fountains.
About Green Tech: Those eBikes and electric cars are causing an environmental tragedy. More than Lithium mining, more than the toxins involved in manufacture, more than the child and slave labor used to manufacture them... stop buying bad technology. Stop 'influencers touting bad technology. PS: Those batteries cannot be extinguished like other fires. They need special chemicals and can burn for days ...releasing toxic fumes... even when submerged. Good luck with your 'green' vehicle if you have an accident. Also: forget the stupid grass lawns. Plant clover. It was the primary lawn until chemical companies told you otherwise. Cheers.
It's on every. possible. news. broadcast. Especially crime. Just sayin'
And at Christmas, and for Sunday night dinner, and when they call and put it on speakerphone without saying anything so everyone in the supermarket can hear, and in front of our kids so we have to remind our children that people's ethnicities do not have to be described or mentioned in every sentence 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
We make 170k, we don't give a c**p how to rotate a PDF. But considering we invented it and wrote the code to rotate it, perhaps we just enjoy making you do it.
Thinking about that boomer who demanded someone print an MP4 and now imagining one demanding a PDF printed upside-down...
Look you don't have to read it. It's generalization, qe know that a ton of boomers are great people. My great aunt is amazing and really progressive, but there's definitely a type of boomer that comes to mind when you say boomer, and it's not them or you, I assume.

You know, I've never heard the word 'panhandler' before today. I'm guessing it's an Americanism for beggar???

I'm a boomer. As a child we had a saying in our family to include all the swear words we knew. Imagine my surprise when I was working in my brother's garden a few years back. My brother was on the other side of this rose bush and had pricked his finger. I distinctly heard him mutter "s**t, bugger, damn, hell, fart."
I think it says much about the millennials that the wittiest retort they can come up with is "ok, boomer". Not exactly Oscar Wilde, is it? (Sorry, millennials will have to look up who he was).
Dude Oscar wilde is very well known on the internet. At least, the parts I'm on. Also it's not supposed to be a good retort. It's just a way of saying that we're kinda tired and we don't really care

Not sure that folks born in the 50’s and 60’s were real good at saving for retirement…. Yuppies were notorious Nouveau riche, bought everything they saw and left little for retirement. If they look down on you for not saving it’s because they learned the hard way. But yeah, go ahead and bash em for trying to warn y’all. This is how history repeats itself: deluding yourself into thinking your “generation” is facing “unique” problems that humanity has never seen before.
I thought yuppies were an 80’s thing rather than 50’s or 60’s. I was only a kid in the 80’s so I could be wrong but my mum says I’m right so it must be true.

Some of thes people seem not to have met the 'silver surfers' the older boomers who got to retire in their mid 60's when a lot of the internet was really gathering speed. Having the time and money to just sit and mess, they don't go anywhere without their gadgets. My parents are in their 80's and if they are off line, they are probably sleeping.
Another proud moment for the youth: “Capable of connecting to WI-FI!!” Y’all are on a roll here, 46&2 just ahead of you.

I'm 47. I tend to say "I didn't know they were still alive to begin with" 😆
Millennials comment "who" on articles about a recent deceased celebrity.
Not a Boomer, I've always said this. Every time my dad says 'did you hear who died?' Plus he reads 'news' on yahoo, so gets to know who more celebs are from that :)

You're obviously proud of your education system. Did they teach you investing? Ironing? Cooking? Basic car repair? How about compass navigation? Map reading? Math, without a calculator? Woodworking? No? Well, you're going to need advice from someone... and your peers are in the same leaky boat. You did get taught to swim, right?
THAT'S WHAT WE'RE SAYINGGGGGGGG YALL KEEP SAYING THAT WE'RE DUMB- YOU SET UP THIS FKIN EDUCATION SYSTEM. Also we get taught to swim in most public high schools, and we don't need to learn math without a calculator because we get taught how to make calculators, and we have shop- which is woodworking but with wires. We don't want advice from someone who hasn't lived through what we are. Not saying your lives weren't hard, or you learned a lot. l'm sure you did. But we aren't learning less, we're just adapting to our surroundings as the world changes, and that means learning different and new things, in different and new ways.

Load More Replies...These days Avocados are cheaper than the bread, even cheaper than lettuce...
SO true! I went to the market the other day and the cheapest eggs were $7.99USD for a dozen... and my loaf of bread was $7.98... while a huge Haas avocado was only $1.98 and can go with 4 different meals 😅 avocado isn't the culprit.

I don’t think it’s just the people over the age of around 65 that believe that spending less on nonessential items will allow you to save more towards a deposit. I think it’s anyone with basic mathematical abilities. The less you spend, the more you can save.

I'm Gen X, so I don't really care about the ongoing Boomer-Millenial war, but even I find this entire listicle fairly ridiculous.

She also doesn't remember that her mum shopped daily or more, you can't shop once a week and leave things around. The dates are there because you didn't buy it this morning to cook tonight. You could forget how long you've had it. She claims the doctor is rubbish for being unable to diagnose her mystery intestinal issues. Have you tried telling them you regularly eat room temperature meat? I'm no believer that the date is gospel, but they mean it when they say keep refrigerated!
Those intestinal issues may be from food additives and food colors. In America, meat can have hundreds of additives, including formaldehyde and steroids. Some folks just can't handle it.
Load More Replies...Alright maybe I'm the idiot here (gen x btw) but so many of these just come off as clueless to me. Discussing politics is not a generational thing. It may be less common in younger people (teens in particular) but it's not a boomer trait.
I agree, although most youth I know in Australia are happy to talk about politics too, because they are excited for when they get to vote. Don't get as heated discussions as the US seems to either.
Load More Replies...After reading 61 boomer slights that regularly complain about their politics and economy it’s Ironic that 62 would be a complaint about boomers talking about politics and the economy. But hey maybe we are onto something here. Not genZ or millennial, we should start calling them “Ironicals”. Everything they complain about is ironically exactly what they are!

Only if it's the one about me saying "Siri, when will it rain next?" Siri: "Not for three months". Me: "Surely you can't be serious". Siri: "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley". Then I remembered I'd left the phone in Airplane mode... I thank you.
Take your dang upvote lol ...now I have to go watch that again.

My mum doesn't have Siri, but she does have whatever the car connection is called to make hands free calls. It never understands when she says 'call Paul' (my stepdad) or a lot of other ones.

Load More Replies...Better idea: drop those TikTok and IG influencers. Yes, even those with the 'shopped butts that distort time and space.
Came here to make a similar comment. I think that Boomers were indeed the main population of Facebook and a lot of unpleasantness came out of that; HOWEVER, millennials and Gen Z have certainly populated IG and TikTok, and there's certainly a lot of unpleasantness there too.
Load More Replies...Then you feel wrong. Boomers are the generation least affected by Facebook.
My husband works in a bank, sure he gets pensioners who are struggling by being locked out of accounts, but he says these are usually easy to deal with. It's the fresh graduates that are the biggest problem. Every age group has people clueless about technology
WHAT??? THERE AREN'T??? Ok I know it's Universal or something but minions are cool.
You're high, right? Boomers don't go to disneyland, they've got better things to do.
Was there when it opened. I've been there a lot. Even hit Disney World at boot camp. Every time we went, the prices were doubled and idiots in the crowd quadrupled. It's so crowded the actors get surly. Circa 1990s: Reverts were trying to snatch kids from distracted parents.

I'm 28 and only do this because I use swipe texting and my phone is too big for my thumbs to reach across.
You know what? That's completely reasonable IMO. I enjoy that to : )
Load More Replies......or maybe it's just too ignorant to bother with. Would it be better if we just used one with 7 filters?
Load More Replies...So does mine. My whole family drinks a lot of water.
Load More Replies...Yes everyone knows that boomers don't drink water /s. My eyes are rolling so far back at these that I may never see again.
Wow, what a nasty little list. Still amazes me though, how my entire generation (Gen X) still gets overlooked. When I see things like this, I don't mind so much.
yeah, but how are they gonna insult us? literally the 'nevermind' generation arent going to be put out by petty insults. its much of the reason the boomers get so much flak, because they still rise to it!
Load More Replies...I think the generation that loves to pick on "boomers" is going to get a bad wake up call when it's their turn. Every generation gets picked on for something, if not tons of stuff. Most of you are going to turn older and when you do, there is a certain limit to what your brain is going to accept. In our home we're more progressive, and we try, but there are certain things we simply can't wrap our heads around. We just try to be kind. (I'm Gen X & husband is a millenial, btw).
Y3ah. I'm gen z and this seems... really s****y
Load More Replies...gen x here. this article has made me start to think the boomers have you millenial morons pegged. seriously, almost every item on this list makes most of you seem insufferable.
This is all generalization. I'm sorry to any of the boomers who read this, people suck. It's all true, but only about a very specific, small (but loud) section of people. Generalization sucks
Hasty Generalizations. Appeals to Ignorance. Causal fallacies. Appeals to Pity. Bandwagon arguments. This entire list can be summed up as a study in tu quoque fallacy. Ugh.
Remove complaints about computers and this list gets a lot shorter... For a generation that is giving up on computers in leu of using a phone which has 1/3 the functionality and 3/4 the cost, its a specific complaint that is less to do with a generation and more to do with the tech. 'OK boomer' only works when the individual is out of touch with the evolution of the world they specifically live in, not our personal perception of what they should know.
Only like 2 were worth an up vote. Do these people have their heads in the clouds or something. I knew it wouldn't be laugh out loud, but I didn't even chuckle. (From a Gen Y)
