On 24th February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. In response to this unprovoked and unjustified war, countries across the world are condemning the attack and rushing to aid Ukraine and its people. The Western world and its allies have stepped up to assist this brave nation by providing military equipment and humanitarian assistance.

"Here in Ukraine, we will be repeating this over and over again: Russia’s war isn’t only about our country. This is about all of us. Because of Russian hybrid warfare, everyone who values freedom, democracy, and justice is a potential target," Nataliia Steblyna wrote in the Kyiv Independent, saying that we all should stand together and that even the smallest steps may be significant.

Inspired and touched by defenders fighting on the streets and outskirts of attacked cities, people are uniting like never before. From protests to cyberattacks to canceled sports and cultural events, thousands continue to help the Ukrainian government and civilians in any way they can.

Although that is not impossible, Taiwan has The Taiwan Relations Acts with the United States which requires the latter "to provide Taiwan with arms of a defensive character," and "to maintain the capacity of the United States to resist any resort to force or other forms of coercion that would jeopardize the security, or the social or economic system, of the people on Taiwan." That said, China cannot just effectively invade Taiwan.

It's important to remember that China does not have Russia's best interests at heart. Whatever weakens Russia (and there can be no doubt that this aggression is weakening Russia) strengthens China.. Their "support" is a double-edged sword.

As the world watches the 6th day of Ukraine fighting Russia’s invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Parliament in an emotional message. The country has shown time and again that it is an equal member of Europe, and he expressed his belief that Ukraine deserves to be a part of the EU.

"I believe that we, today, we're giving lives for the desire to be equal, as much as you are. We are giving away our best people," he said. "Nobody is going to break us. We are strong. We are Ukrainian."

"We have proven our strengths. We have proven that as a minimum we are exactly the same as you are," Zelenskyy added. "Prove that you are with us. Do prove that you will not let us go. Do prove that you indeed are Europeans."

Why does Putin think Belarus entering the fray makes his point stronger? Everyone has been in agreement that Belarus is ran by a dictator for forever and a day. No one thinks any differently, so no one is going to buy the "liberation" side of Putin's plan when you're main ally is straight up, out in front, obviously, publicly a dictator. I mean Belarus barely even tries to lie about it.

Anonymous is the real future of what war looks like. They have decimated the Belarusian economy by hacking every major bank. They've pushed onto every digital device within the borders of Ukraine the country's offer of $47,000 and asylum to any Russian soldier who surrenders. They hacked the Russian Air Force frequencies and provided the means for anyone to listen or broadcast on them. Western News has replaced the Russian government feeds on every platform. Their motto starts, "We are Legion". There are few countries in the world who have the capabilities to counteract when they turn their full force upon them.

Anonymous has no leaders. Anonymous is not organized by anyone. Anonymous can be anything, or it can be nothing at all. Anonymous isn’t simply a group of internet hackers. Anonymous has no form. Anonymous is everyone, yet it can be no-one. Anonymous does nothing for recognition. Anonymous is a concept, not a group. Don’t forget that. They cannot stop us. They cannot stop the future. We are Anonymous. We are united by one, divided by none. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.

The tremendous courage of the President and citizens of Ukraine have inspired people, governments, and companies worldwide. There has been a massive outpour of support, with people mobilizing on social media, calling out false information, and getting together to aid Ukrainian civilians in the most meaningful ways.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, more than half a million civilians have fled Ukraine. The EU estimates that up to four million people may try to leave the country and has relaxed its rules on refugees, saying that the member states will welcome them with "open arms".

BBC states that refugees are crossing the borders to neighboring countries to the west — Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. Poland has so far taken in over 280K refugees and expects a further 50K to arrive every day. "Countries used to have time limits on how long refugees could spend in reception centers, but most are saying they are likely to waive them and that Ukrainians can stay in them for as long as they need to."

The hardest part is carrying the box. It is so simple, the instructions to set it up are literally 3 pictures as it pretty much sets itself up. You put the dish on the tripod in an open area, connect the 'box' and then connect the power supply. Plug your computer into it and then it does the rest itself

Governments also made essential and unprecedented decisions to assist Ukraine in its fight for freedom. From gathering resources to provide all possible help to agreeing on sanctions that are already weakening the Russian economy, even Switzerland has abandoned its historic neutral position on global wars to support Ukraine.

"Never since the second world war has the rights of one country been so violated by another. You cannot stand aside. To play into the hands of an aggressor is not neutral," the Swiss president, Ignazio Cassis, said. Switzerland stands in solidarity with Ukraine and hopes that sanctions will encourage the Kremlin to rethink its actions.

I would laugh, if it wasnt so depressing. What is happening in Palestine is now acceptable, whereas this is not? How can one be condemned and the other not? Why are the people of Palestine not supported in this manner when defending themselves, their lives and their property against attacks? Humanity is lacking in the world severely.

The Israeli Palestinian conflict has nothing to do with Israeli doctors aiding Ukraine - as they always do in humanitarian crisises. And this war is entirely different, Ukraine did not elect a terror organization to lead it and does not bomb Russia or send sucide bombers to murder innocent Russian civilians.

Other neutral countries such as Finland, Sweden, Austria, Ireland, and the Vatican also condemned the Russian war on Ukraine. Finland and Sweden, which are not part of NATO, announced they will send military aid to support the troops resisting an invasion by Russia.

"It’s the rebirth of a new Europe," Michael McFaul, a former U.S. ambassador to Russia, told NBC News. "It’s a historic shift. I think this will have major consequences moving forward for the future of Europe, for the future of the transatlantic alliance, for the future of NATO — just when all of those things were fraying."

The Polish people KNOW the pain of the Ukrainians. We share a lot of the same history against Russia. My great-grandparents had to flee Poland with my infant grandfather and siblings because of the Pogroms and the Bolsheviks. Then what our people suffered during the so called Soviet "liberation" of WWII and then during the occupation.....Never ever forget.

Western Ukraine is largely Polish, culturally, historically, ethnically. Let me be clear: they are Ukrainian, a Frenchman isn't less French if he's Burgundian or Norman. But to be Ukrainian and not Russian is to be very close to Poland. Russia invaded Poland, sliced it up into pieces with Germany, and combined the various pieces with land it took from the Polish-LIthuanian empire centuries earlier... and then tried to starve the entire land of Ukraine to death. And then talks to these Ukrainians as if they should be thankful that Russia "made" Ukraine.

If you are in Europe, but preferably nearer to Ukraine or Poland, please consider offering up a room or your home to these poor women and children! Contact your local aid services - there are many people here in Poland willing to transport these refugees through our country and to the next border. You wouldn’t believe how swiftly people are getting things done here! We have not waited for our government to call upon the people to help because there is not a minute to waste! Be PROACTIVE!!! Do something yourself to help and act now!!!

Hackers from around the world joined the fight too by disrupting Russia’s digital infrastructure. The Independent reports that hacking groups such as Anonymous and the Cyber Partisans "have claimed responsibility for cyberattacks on Russia’s banks, state broadcaster RT, and a Belarusian rail network reportedly used to move troops from Russia to Ukraine."

"DDoS alone will not bring down a regime", one German Anonymous splinter group said, but "Putin, who is using hacker squads and troll armies against Western democracies, is getting a sip of his own bitter medicine". Their goal is to obtain information and "keep the Russian IT apparatus busy" so that Putin's hacker troops "cannot do anything in Ukraine or the West".

I just heard the news here in the UK, that asylum will be offered to people who have spouses here (in which case, wouldn't they already be here?), or children under 18 here (in which case, wouldn't they already be here?). I suspect a lot of us in this country are going to be petitioning our government until they get their act together and welcome refugees.

It has been expanded beyond this now, because of petitions and protests. The claim is that the change implemented an hour ago should cover several hundred thousand people.

Russia becomes even more isolated as the sporting world moves to ban the country from competing in events. FIFA and UEFA have joined the International Olympic Committee to prohibit Russian teams and athletes from participating in international competitions. "FIFA and UEFA have today decided together that all Russian teams, whether national representative teams or club teams, shall be suspended from participation in both FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice," the two organizations said in a joint statement.

Some of you think US and EU should've done more, however, they're, at least, following the international law to avoid conflict the problem with Russia than we have a previous former leader that befriend Russia over bounty upon/mocked our soldier, had bloodshed and abandoned refugees during ISIS' war we have with Syria and rest of Middle East. See this, is why we need smart people like Biden, not 3rd rated Businessman.

Plus, the European Broadcasting Union confirmed that Russia won’t be participating in this year's Eurovision Song Contest because a Russian entry would "bring the competition into disrepute". The lead singer of Ukrainian folk rap group Kalush Orchestra (who are representing their country this year), Oleh Psiuk, told Sky News that their song has become an "anthem for Ukraine".

"This song which we have created [Stefania], it's the anthem for Ukraine and everybody is singing it," he said. "I think that the aggressor country must be banned from everywhere, from all the possible parts of the economy and politics because the people from their country don't realize that their country is aggressive and the aggressor for all the world, not only for Ukraine."

Yes, propaganda can rise the anger of the wrong people. I saw a video posted by a russian where the ukranians pushed the Indians when they tried to pass the border (i'm not saying it was right to do so), it was cut, with no context, imagine the indians siding with Putin ? They are so many, it would be terrible. The video showing the man not letting the black woman on the train is a good exemple too.

The whole of Russia is suffering and having to give their dreams up just because of one f*****g stupid and careless president. He doesn't deserve to be called the president of Russia. He came straight from hell.

The fact that the international community is so compassionate towards the ordinary Russians is the biggest surprise to me in this whole mess, and it makes me feel better about the state of humanity.

This one is weird because it's probably the most personal one to me. Living in rural, RURAL US, I am doing my best to keep up with Ukraine and show my support. I have a deep love for the Eurovision song contest....and now, no Russia. Good choice but damn - remember there are people in Russia who hate this war too.

It’s really sad how some people were looking forward to going to things like this or people who wanted to compete just because some f****r of a president wanted to invade Ukraine.

Yes, I don’t get this one. It’s not like Putin will care that Russia couldn’t compete in Eurovision. I’m not for any sanctions that affect ordinary citizens who want no part in this war.

Really? Because MÅNESKIN have achieved worldwide fame due to winning the competition last year. Even achieved great success here in the US despite half their music being in Italian. I myself have follows the band for years (found them back when I first started learning Italian) and never thought they'd get this big. N thanks to Eurovision they're topping charts, winning contests, playing famous venues across the world, becoming a household name. So I don't think your comment actually stands up anymore. Now ppl will be more inclined to watch Eurovision since everyone loves to be the first to "discover" new music. So I think MÅNESKIN might have changed the game.

Im really proud to see so many countries welcome Ukrainian refugees - as we absolutely should, but it highlights the inherent racism in government policies that deny Syrian and Afghan refugees the same right to safety.

Caro Caro - if you really do then please please get in touch with whoever is responsible for organising aid in your region and inform them! Be proactive! We here in Poland have not waited for the government to organise anything, there is no time for that! I don’t know of anyone who is not actively involved in offering homes, rooms, clothing, money etc.here , but it’s happening now, there is not a single minute to waste ffs!!! Call out to anyone who is considering doing the same - BE PROACTIVE!!! These people are not going to come knocking on your door for help!!!

All we are left with beside violence is economic sanctions. I wish there was a way to actually punish those responsible instead of a blanket punishment on everyone though

Don't even joke about it. Countries such as the US are calculating their response very carefully, to support Ukraine without starting World War III. The bright line between "helping Ukraine" and "joining the war" is sending troops into Ukraine and/or firing weapons at Russia/Russians. The US can give Ukraine as many weapons as they want; as long as it's Ukrainians firing them, we aren't in the war.

And too many recessions, likewise, I'm guessing. I have, too. It used to be a continuously repeating cycle. The stock market was allowed to keep running up prices and causing inflation until people quit buying products and drove us into a recession. Then, the acting president at the time would entangle us in a war to kick more money into the defense sector, and "stimulate" the economy. It helped (if you worked in the defense industry). But they had to shift the blame for the recessions, somehow, away from Wall Street. The result was the Clinton admin's 401ks. Now, Wall Street gets less credit for recessions and wars, and the people get more.

Ukrainian here. Please read this! The battle for the Europe's biggest nuclear plant in Enerhodar started today and is still in progress. Our army fights as lions, but russian bastards throw huge forces there. Tomorrow can never come. That will be a disaster much bigger than Chernobyl. Please, spread the message, ask your governments and NATO to close the sky over Ukraine ASAP. We can fight those fascist m***********s on the land, but they bomb us from the air. And if the missile goes to a nuclear reactor, well do I need to say more? No one in Europe is safe anymore. Putin is barking mad, he doesn't give a f**k about his people, not to say about others. Please, beg NATO to close the sky. THey don't hear us and we survived Chernobyl here and we know the consequences

thats what the Russians said too, about other nations, i.e the USA. The fact that we made MANY mistakes in the past, does not mean that we can't do good in the present or future. If we think about Morality, who is MORAL enough?, I can't name anyone who hasn't done something wrong in the past... not people, not nations....

He’s the most sincere and intelligent Pope the Catholic Church has seen. He refused to live in the papal apartments saying they were too plush and big enough for an entire family. Very modest and accepting man. So unlike the corrupt and self serving ones of the past. I’m a Catholic but was ashamed to be one, until he came along. I still don’t go to mass, but I admire and respect Pope Francis.

His title with the IJF was an honorary one, so suspending it is essentially the same as removing it. The actual president of the IJF is from Austria. The image above is actually from World Taekwondo who stripped him of an honorary black belt.

It's usually not a good idea to send weaponry to unstable regions... especially when it's not clear who the aggressor is. However, the Ukraine invasion is obviously an attempt by a warmongering despot, desperate to rebuild his crumbling empire and we need to do what we can to stop it.

By commenting to "hide" someone's BS, you're not only draw attention to an already hidden comment but giving attention to the person who originally posted the scam/rude comment. How about we just downvote and ignore them instead of giving them what they want, which is attention? They WANT their comment read and by drawing attention to it, they're getting what they want.

I'm ambivalent about this one. If there's one Russian official whose a big fan of "Goodfellas" and a speech from its director helps commit him to ending this war, its a good thing. On the other end, its a big deal when people like Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively puts money behind their words so it makes the rest of us (including these SAG winners) look like hypocrites. All of us have a budget, be it $5 or $50 million, to help others and its a matter of deciding if and where you want to spend that money. My money went to the Nature Conservancy last month so I feel pretty bad I haven't sent any to Ukraine yet.
