In 1982, I was a programmer helping Dixie Brewery in New Orleans transition from a 1954 keypunch machine to a second-hand 1978 'mini' computer the size of a Coke machine that had to be manually booted each day. When management was informed they would have to spend $5,000 each for three 10 MB removeable hard drive platters and $25,000 for the console hard drive reader/writer, my employer said they were shocked; so was I. $5,000 was worth a lot more then than today. That $5,000 would be $16,300 today.
The more efficient, longer range, gasoline-powered cars put them out of busines. If only they had government subsidies back then.
My dad had the Cutlass Supreme which looks similar and was had 5.4 l. V-8 and 0+60 under 7 seconds. I was in high school but he wouldn't let me borrow it. I had to borrow my mom's AMC station wagon.
I think that Russia date needs changing. It seems a lot of prisoners die mysteriously.
