Life’s full of blatantly sexist things and the everyday heroes of the internet keep calling them out, poking fun at them, and shining a bright spotlight on them to make it clear—these things are not okay. And, bit by bit, society changes. Hopefully, for the better.

The r/TrollXChromosomes subreddit, an online group that’s been active for a whopping decade and has over 812k members, documents when women and men confront sexism, misogyny, and toxic masculinity head-on. Have a look through some of their newest posts that we’ve collected for you, dear Pandas, and be sure to upvote the ones that rekindled your hope in greater equality in the world.

When you’re done with this list, we invite you to read through our first article about blatantly obvious sexism right here. Meanwhile, scroll down for our interview with psychotherapist Silva Neves, who explained to Bored Panda what men can do to put an end to toxicity, misogyny, and homophobia. According to him, it’s about redefining what ‘male success’ means and teaching society to stop turning a blind eye to what’s wrong.

We used to have to kneel on the floor to check our hem lengths, and have uniform inspections. Early 2000's.

All the strictness for things like this goes away when boys are involved since apparently they don't deserve to be sent home like we do

Boys need an education you know 🙄 girls can just....be housewives or something. 😐 I am honestly so glad i went to school where i did because boys didnt get away with anything like this.

I stand by this...all of this griping about dress codes could be eliminated if schools had a uniform policy. If everyone wore the same thing everyday, it would stop kids from being harassed for not having designer clothes and it would save parents the pain in the ass of complaining kids to get current styles and never again would it be a struggle what outfit to wear to school. I have no idea why this is not a viable solution, other than people who would complain about taking away freedom of expression.

What do you do about the kids that have the expensive shoes or book bags vs the kids that have the Walmart brands? Do you honestly think the harassment goes away because you're all forced to dress the same? It sure didn't happen in any school i went to whether it was uniform or simply a dress code. Someone always has the "better" version & they will always call out the kids that dont...

The medical risks, symptoms and physical toll of pregnancy are much more severe than those of a reversable vasectomy.

This is what I've been saying forever but men's bodies won't ever be policed only women's bodies. They want to control women bc it benefits them the men in charge. They make sure to pit us against each other too so we control ourselves and they have it easier. It's insane

They can be reversed but it is not considered a reversible surgery. 75% success rate if you have your vasectomy reversed within 3 years and the odds keep going down the longer you don't have it reversed. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/contraception/vasectomy-reversal-nhs/

I just learned that there was a sterilization law passed in 1909 in California, US that allowed state institutions to sterilize women who are deemed "unfit" or "feeble-minded". This went on for 70 years. Stop trying to regulate women's bodies. Leave us alone!

And back then there didn't need to be any proof that a woman was "unfit" or "feeble-minded." All someone had to do was say they were and that was enough to have the woman sterilized and/or institutionalized. So very sad.

They are, but the body develops antibodies to your own sperm because they are blocked from leaving the body the normal way. So after reversing a vasectomy you might have a more difficult time getting someone pregnant because your body will still be attacking your sperm. That kind of why I'm hopeful that vasalgel will get approved in the US so men can get a effective, nonhormonal, form of birth control that last 10 years and can be reversed without any side effects. It still involves getting an injection into your junk so I'm sure lots of men will still puss out on getting it but hopefully that will eventually change.

I stopped taking birth control pills in my late 20s because they made me sick to my stomach to the point that thinking about taking it would make nauseated. Tried a diaphragm for a while, what a mess! then got an IUD, excruciatingly painful to insert. When it was about to expire, I suggested to my husband that one or the other, or both of us get a vasectomy or tubes tied. He said doing this was "too permanent " Neither of us had a burning desire to be parents. My IUD expired and I became pregnant. Then, he wanted me to have an abortion but I refused. I changed my mind once I became pregnant and wanted to have my baby. He couldn't get to a doctor fast enough to get a vasectomy after the fact. I divorced him.

Education is a vital part of the fight for greater equality, compassion, inclusiveness, and respect. However, alone without any ongoing and passionate support from us, education isn’t the panacea against sexism, misogyny, and toxic masculinity that some of us are looking for. It’s not a one-and-done kind of deal: it’s a long, arduous, exhausting process, a war of attrition between competing ideas.

“Better education is definitely key but it is also down to all of us to challenge it by not allowing toxic masculinity to keep going. It means that we all have to actively challenge misogyny and homophobia,” psychotherapist Silva noted in an interview with Bored Panda. He added that both misogyny and homophobia are “still prevalent now in the UK,” where he is based, and “too many people continue to turn a blind eye when they see it.”

Right? The fact that I don't want to actually engage with someone's genitals has no bearing on my belief that they deserve equal rights. Then again, many of these same folks insist that bisexual women with male partners are "appropriating queer spaces" because they "perform heterormativity" and have "straight privilege." And don't get me started about their claim that "Any straight person at Pride is a threat to the gay community." F**k gatekeeping. Whoever you are and whatever gender-related label you prefer, there are millions and millions of us who will make sure there is space for you. Come on in... or out. <3

This makes me think of that 365 film on netflix. Dude literally KIDNAPPED a girl and told her he was keeping her for a year abd she would love him. I only got so far in so I dont know if they had sex at all, but the fact she had to be carried kicking and screaming and then tied to a plane chair to stop her from escaping made me pause and turn it off. But to some people, thats ok because he was good looking and he took her to a castle.... I imagine those people would have also said the sex was 'noncon' not rape. Some weird people.in the world.

According to Silva, men need to do their part and be more in tune with their emotions, instead of trying to repress them as is par for course with toxic masculinity.

“We need more representations of men who embrace their emotions, talk about them and show them with crying, laughing, or hugging,” he said.

To be fair, a woman can drug and kill a man as well. The only difference is that women in our society are psychologically conditioned to live in fear.

Women can murder, but they do so at significantly lower rates than men. By your logic, men are conditioned to be violent, in which case women are correct in being afraid.

My sister and I were at a local hotel bar it was a girls night out we were all just chatting, She excused herself to go to the bathroom and came back completely flustered. Asked me to go to a specific room number to beat the crap out of a woman there. Me: “wait, what” Turns out when my sister was in the bathroom a woman hit on her and asked her to come up to her room and my sister being straight had no idea how to handle it. So I told my sister next time just say “thank you “, and realize you’re getting a compliment.

Something else that drastically needs to change is how ‘male success’ and masculinity are defined. “We also need to change the image of 'male success'. So, basically, we need to change society at its core because toxic masculinity is part of a faulty system of thoughts. That will take time, but it can start with all of us doing our parts about it,” the psychotherapist told Bored Panda.

Men can be feminists, too, and feminism is meant to help across genders. Men shouldn't be vilified for ordering a cocktail, crying, being the stay-at-home parent, or sitting next to their friend at the movies. Feminism helps everyone. Everyone needs to be in on the conversations... but remember that there are some things -- like my reproductive choices, for example -- that are not up for discussion.

Apparently the truth is not appreciated on this site. I know very few men who give a rat's a$$ about women's fashion choices, but women rip on other women for their clothes all the time. All the articles online or in magazines that criticise famous women for their clothes are aimed squarely at women (and gay men).

Can I just say, I really love when people can absolutely nail a professional look, and still manage to have an unnatural hair color. I’ve spent 16 years in professional work refusing to give up odd hair color choices because someone might be “offended”. One of my favorite managers had a good take on this - “I’m not naturally blonde, so what do I care if you’re not naturally green.” Reminds me a bit of the fight over visible tattoos.

It's one of the bigger downsides to Big Data - algorithms link a person's preferences to the point where their internet experience becomes an echo chamber, constantly repeating and reinforcing the original belief and excluding all opposing ideas. (One of the upsides of Big Data being the Wisdom of Crowds phenomenon, just to give a balanced view)

Here's a good analogy for this. Let's say I have a bowl of 100 jelly beans. 90 of them are safe, BUT 5 will make you sick and uncomfortable, 4 will give you intense pain and emotionally scar you, and the last 1 will kill you instantly if you eat them. Now, do you want a jelly bean? No? Exactly.

Hi John - it's absolutely true. I have male cleaners and I explained to them the other day that I would have never allowed them to clean my house if they were Caucasian (I live alone) and that women feel less scared around Asian men. Omg they were so surprised. Yes we have to do the safe thing and assume we are under threat 100% of the time because if we are wrong the outcome is devastating. The outcome is something we will NEVER get over. And the outcome is a very real possibility.

Last night, I was catching the bus at 10:30pm and there was a drunk guy playing the guitar. I decided to get off at the stop before the last stop to avoid him (but it was also a slight shortcut). As I got off the bus, he stopped loudly singing off-key and said, "There you go, Lady, get home safe". We'd wear pajama pants with sweatshirts and flipflop (with a baseball cap if you didn't want to wash your hair) to class when I was in college. It was a women's college and some people got so up in arms about how we were dressed when we were walking around campus. There were literally newspaper articles about it. Fortunately the professors fired back in letters to the editor saying that, well, the students are comfortable and they're learning. It's college, not a fashion show. So mind your own business.

It's always bothered me that the original computers were women (literally), but somehow girls are just not as good at maths? Being a computer was one of the few jobs available to women, but girls in school are told that "maths is too hard for you". Oh, and when computers became machines they became exclusive boys clubs because they were threatened by women being good at using them. (I love this movie because it absolutely slams the race aspect as well, and seeing her use a computer machine gave me happy shivers)

My wife is an engineer. Sometimes when we watch this movie (for the 30th or 40th time), we raise our fists in the air. By the way, the scene when John Glenn says to get the girl to check the numbers, and if she said they were right, he was good to go? That was a near verbatim quote of what actually happened. Katherine Johnson confirmed it. Johnson also got Apollo 13 back home after their disaster. The stories are endless.

I agree, but I also think that we shouldn’t value STEM above other types of degrees/careers. Women should be able to learn and do whatever they want. STEM is not the be-all, end-all parade of geniuses that modern society thinks it is.

The question is why do we a society full of so many men hate women or at the very least expect them to be subservient, grateful and honored that a man pays attention to them much less marry them.

I have had so many men tell me that feminism isn't equality of the genders, I tell them that is exactly what it is, they say not anymore, and I tell them if they are not feminist, they don't support equality, that is it, end of discussion, and I couldn't continue to bother speaking to someone who sees me as less than them because I have tits.

Then they start with the "Then why isn't it called humanism?" crap. Not only is humanism a different ideology and philosophy, but feminism names the thing which is despised by and attacked in our society. So guys, if you're angry because men have trouble getting custody of their kids or because a Debbie calls the cops on you when you're at a playground with your daughter, or if you're pissed because you were always told to hide your pain and feelings, then THAT is why we all need feminism.

Best way to teach them this is by having decent male role models in their lives that treat them with respect as they grow up, and by having female role models that don't put up with disrespect from their partners.

I think everybody should teach their children, both boys and girls, that you should expect and receive exactly the same you give. If you give commitment, loyalty and respect you should receive commitment, loyalty and respect from the other part. Otherwise it's not a relationship. We should never put up with a person that doesn't respect us. Never. It's not worth it.

@Neil Powell — You need to get over your assumptions. I never liked ‘bad boys’ and steered away from those low lives, likewise most of the women and girls I have met throughout my life. Girls who were ignorant about the reality of the ‘bad boys’, with time, always end up hating the bad boys (if the girl remained alive, since ‘bad boys’ usually = sick abuser turned murderer, as proven by the statistics that says more than half of murdered women are murdered by a current or a former male intimate partner. The thing is, many of those perpetrators weren’t even ‘bad boys’ type, and this shows you, Neill, how sick and lacking in manhood so many of your gender is).

They just create a cultural pressure not to discuss salaries, rather than make it a company policy that can be proved to be illegal. I will point out though that this is not specifically a gendered thing in intention - they don't want ANYONE discussing salaries, whether that's two men, or a man and a woman. (Although, I have to concede that the *effect* disproportionately hurts women and trans men)

I'm not actually for that. the company I used to work for did that, I was with them five years, was one of their best managers in the state. two of us carried the other five assholes who made the same salary we did. those five positions were a revolving door of s**t employees that stuck around for a few months before getting fired for rank incompetence. Damn straight I should be paid more than a FNG that can't be bothered to do the most basic aspects of their job. (like showing up.) Yes... wage equality should be a thing. yeah, wage inequality needs to go away, but it's also inequal if half the team carries the other half. Compensation should be based on the work they do, and that's it.

No. I was a victim of sexual assault. He was let out on bond, even after failing a lie detector. He committed armed robbery during that time. He was eventually convicted of both, with the testimony of 2 other victims(past CSCs, never prosecuted). His sentence for the armed robbery was longer. His CSC sentence ran concurrent. So, sexually assaulting me, repeatedly choking me, ripping my clothes off me as I ran away, stealing and wrecking my car were all freebies!

One thing that doesn't sit right with me is how most actual predators get to walk free (y'know what I mean. D Trump, Bil Cosby, Cardi B, Riley Reid, So many more) but innocent people who were falsely accused get their lifes ruined. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Well, this is not consent. Women are not sexual objects even when they want to be sexy or are having sex. Women are as sexual beings just as men are. Yet, society tend to discredit and ridicule even humiliate women sexuality while men's sexuality tends to be celebrated.

One line that turns up in too many books is "He stopped her mouth with a kiss" or "he shut her up with a kiss". Usually when the woman is angry or upset, so it's like "Well the little lady is having feelings, I'll just shut her up".

Women are not dismissible incubators. I wonder if men would be okay with an unwanted growth in their organs for 9 months, causing weight gain, mood swings, nausea, and basically a complete loss of bodily autonomy as strangers constantly pat you like a class gerbil. I assume men would not be okay with that. Why they think women should be is beyond me. If you want to avoid unwanted pregnancies, get a vasectomy.

I won't ever get an abortion because I believe a baby shouldn't be killed for being conceived, but I also believe women should have the right to have one if the want to. If you outlaw it, it will become more dangerous because women will still get abortions somehow and it could result in so many deaths. Let people have abortions if they want!

Besides the total assault on women's rights that abortion restriction enforces, there is also no good legal argument for banning it. A fetus has no legal standing and is not the property of any person (even the mother). Personally I disagree with having abortions once the fetus becomes fully viable and can survive on its own but the rights of the woman should always be honored without exception for a possible future life.

When I was in high school, some local politician came to speak about a law he was supporting that would require minors under 18 to have parental consent to get an abortion, because teenage girls are too young to make that decision. I asked him if that also meant parents should be allowed to force an abortion on a 17 year-old who wants to have the baby. He stammered around a bit but never really answered.

How come when a pregnant woman dies in a car crash her dead fetus is always referred to as an unborn child and the other driver if at fault can be charged with TWO counts of vehicular manslaughter? What makes her fetus and unborn child but yours is not just because you WANT to kill it? How is it ONLY a child when you want to keep it but it's just a fetus when you don't and you cannot be held accountable? I'm NOT taking sides, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.

I’m very against abortion, but this argument definitely helped me see the other side. If you think of it like someone not being willing to donate an organ because it would take a long recovery time, even if it would save someone’s life, it still seems callous and cruel, but less like murder.

I once heard that the rate of attempted suicides among men is about the same as that among women. But men are more often successful. A woman would take sleeping pills or cut her pulse. You can still save them in time. A guy jumps in front of the train or out of the window and is dead. Those might be clichees too, but women think more and men are more impulsive / spontaneous.

In the U.S., men are much more likely to use a firearm in a suicide attempt than women are. There's also a surplus of guns. If you own a firearm, it's more likely to kill you or one of your loved ones than any sort of intruder. Yet, people keep buying them.

I have taught my son from the age he could understand about respecting women. In my house, he is being taught this, every single day. What scares the crap out of me is that he goes out into this world, and the entire world is saying otherwise. I hope with all my being that he stands strong and realizes what his core values should be, those being taught to him, that they resonate from home and not the ugly public at large. I can do only do so much, and he is a good boy (9) and he said this to me just the other day "girls have it harder than boys, don't they mom), he said this because he witnesses it already. I love men, and I gave him a fair and truthful answer, about how each man is his own and he can learn now, as a boy, to grow into a man who choses to respect all people, and that includes women. He assures me, he does and will. But I am still scared as hell what will happen when the world gets into his brain and potentially overrides these sound beliefs.

My husband was in Time magazine for the women's march, he is a hard core feminist. Had a co-worker ask what I would do if something happened to him, if I would ever consider finding someone else. Told her no, I would just adopt more dogs and birds. I am perfectly happy to live just me and my animals, not worth the energy to find someone else. FUNNY HOW A WOMAN CAN GRIND ON A MANS D**K IN A CLUB AND NOT GET DONE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT BUT IF HE SO MUCH AS TOUCHES HER LEG OR LOOKS AT HER CLEAVAGE HIS A PERV

You’re talking about the club, as if you’re pretending that countless of males aren’t staring at women and girls (including young girls) in any and all places and trying to touch them in numerous occasions when that is what’s happening. You’re really senseless. Btw, at the club, who said the woman grinding on the man isn’t someone she asked consent from? Do you really not understand that women do ask consent first? (At the club it can be as quickly as a look and a smile from the woman that the male reciprocated); besides, the woman at the club is usually an attractive woman trying to do something consensually with a male she finds to be attractive; while when males try to ‘look or touch’ a woman, he usually does it without her consent and he is also usually a smelly unattractive creep. So F off.

If we all did those things they would just have more targets to choose from. Men don't care about "fair game". Please keep teaching women safety and start teaching men respect.

It is just about responsibility. You cannot expect to go around naked and not being sexualized. Action gives reaction. What you send out, you will attract. It's like irresponsibly waving your expensive watches and clothings and show off how rich you are. That attracts thieves (and golddiggers). THAT is why everyone should monitor their behavior. Men AND women.

Intentionally planning to put adult responsibilities onto children is cruel. This appears to be targeted at female children more often, maybe because domestic responsibilities are more often seen as "women's work"

My daughter was first and never cared for baby dolls or babies at all. When her sibling was born she wanted nothing to do with them. And people kept saying how strange it was that she does not care for them like a doll. So strange that people think a girl, a toddler girl, should care for a baby. As they grew older they have become best friends. But what a strange expectation for a female child. People are crazy.

I was the oldest and was expected to look after and care for my younger siblings. I hated every second of it. Of course I am childfree by choice. We get along famously as adults, but children should not be expected to be the caretakers of other children. It never really works out very well and is only done for the convenience of lazy parents.

That *is* meaning harm. He is signing a hypothetical daughter up for forced labor and unrealistic expectations of responsibility at a young age. That's abuse. Normal does not mean without harm. The norms in our society harm woman, BIPOC, LBGTQA+ etc. Stop assigning good intentions to people who are showing you they don't gaf about the feelings or well being of others. That's harmful. Pretending it isn't helps the oppressor continue to do it with impunity. If they really don't mean harm, when pointed out they'll change their minds. If they don't, well...

I work in a PURELY male dominated industry and my employees are constantly remarking about me being cool headed or robotic. That’s because I’m a woman and they aren’t used to people not being emotional. They’re used to their easily upset coworkers.

This is one of the reasons why I am mystified why a man would voluntarily want to become a woman. And an infertile woman at that - the person placed at the very bottom of society. You are signing yourself up to a life of unneccesary hardship. I'll never fully understand it.

You can even decide to only pursue romantic interests that fit your preferences. In my experience, men prefer us in natural make-up that doesn't look like make-up. Years ago, I went to a multi-level marketing "party". They did make-up make-overs with their products. I picked neutral colors, and my BF at the time greeted me later with "see, you look better without makeup"

Man, this is the first one I came across that is a new thought for me. Girls have to sit still and be quite while boys get to run around. Then you have the house chores that start at the age of 4. I believe in starting house chores early, but I am always shocked at how many men can't cook or do laundry. Like dude, you can't live alone or take care of yourself, pretty embarrassing that children are better able to live alone than grown men.

The annoying thing is, that they often get SO much upvotes >:(

Problem is, as with any social construct, sexism has multiple levels. You have "innocent" or mimetic sexism (literally just doing what everyone else does with no beliefs or understanding involved; seen almost exclusively in small children), passive sexism (weakly-held beliefs at best, mostly just doing it because they either don't know there's an alternative or haven't given it much thought; many fall into this category), active sexism (strongly-held beliefs, resistant to alternative viewpoints, very prone to cognitive dissonance), and extremist sexism (striving to enforce and enhance sexist attitudes and beliefs in others as well as holding strong sexist beliefs).

And society will no improve while we allow unexamined sexism, racism etc to be the norm. We aren't saying execute all sexists, we are saying 'if you are sexist, you should not feel comfortable that you are the norm'

Sayin this beforehand: Feminists/sane people: Want equity for all genders Sexist: Don't want equity or equality for all genders (Whichever gender you are from does not matter, anyone can be sexist or sane)

I think this might be an over simplification of feminism. Personally, if I had to label myself, I would say I'm an egalitarian rather than a feminist, but that does not make me sexist and in fact many of my views align with feminism.

YUP. That would take care of the gender inequality problem that "feminist" have. Because if you think one gender is better (or worse) than another.... YOU ARE SEXIST! It doesn't work as well in the opposite direction. When my former MIL tried to serve her son (my husband at the time) I'd be like, "He has legs, he can do it himself." Didn't go over well.

My MIL kept taunting my husband for "acting like a woman" when he, for example, washed dishes. It rankled me but in the beginning I let it slide. Finally once, my husband spilled something on the floor and, as he was cleaning it up, my MIL told me I should do it because "my poor son's become a woman". I finally snapped and told her something along the same lines as you. It didn't go down well, as expected, but on the bright side, it's been three years and she has neither spoken to me nor set foot in my home since.

Had an older family friend tell me not to start anything alone I didn't want to finish alone. Meaning, if I started making dinner every single night by myself, I can bet he will expect it for the entire marriage. The same could be said for what other "chores" you do around the house. She wasn't wrong either.

My grandparents were very accomplished professionals. I never saw my grandfathers treating my grandmothers as anything but equals. They married in the 50s and were married until both of my grandfathers passed away. Both sets of grandparents had partnerships. Neither grandmother was in the dark or left unprepared when my grandfathers passed away. I've expected nothing less in my own life yet haven't found it. I'm twice divorced but it floors me that both exes were clueless about things when I left. They were neither interested in discussing finances, etc. I controlled it all, but not for lack of effort on my part. First ex is remarried to a completely controlling woman...guess that's what he needs. Second was taken for everything he had and his credit ruined by his next wife because she opened up dozens of credit cards, charged them up and then never paid. She took off when s**t started hitting the fan.

I remember a professional volleyball player I knew presenting us his boyfriend and two of the girls in the company saying simultneously "oh, what a waste!" Without missing a bit, he said: "oh, honey, believe me, he doesn't waste ANY of me!" The thing that really for me thinking, though, was that both women looked utterly shocked, like his response was the most explicit thing they ever heard, when he pretty much had repeated what they told him.

It's normal to complain about your partner with your friends but it's the way it's done that matters. I know my hubby complains about me at times but I also know he speaks very highly of me too. Same goes for me. It's all about context.

There will always be one little thing about your partner or spouse because they are a separate, complete human being with their own faults and foibles. And so are you. If I had a dollar for every time my hubby utterly fails to put his socks IN the laundry basket instead of just next to it, I could take us both to Disney World next year! If he had a dollar for every time I passive-aggressively maintain eye contact with him while picking up said socks, he could take us back again in 2023. But he does the dishwasher and the bins, and gives me cuddles after a long day, and compliments my cooking (which I love to do for him anyway because giving him food makes both of us happy). Socks will likely always be our little niggle, but they're massively outweighed by everything else. (His mother, on the other hand, is a ball and chain around BOTH our ankles, but that's a different cliche)

I annoy my wife sometimes, she annoys me. We argue when we help each other because neither of us are great at communicating and we're both stubborn and want to take the lead, but when it works...wow, it works. Relationships aren't always easy, but as this person says, if you're constantly moaning about your partner, just move on and make both your lives better.

I have had so many people tell me your spouse does not need to be your best friend. Maybe for some that is true, but for me I like the mutual respect, understanding and trust you get by being best friends and best friends would never put each other down only build each other up.

My husband and I do this jokingly. Let's clarify the above statement. If you are calling your partner names to your friends behind her back, then why are you married. If you're sitting in the room with your spouse and she calls you an old fart while you call her the old ball and chain and you both laugh....it's just ribbing. And if you call each other names during an argument, you need counseling or a divorce. Keep the lines of communication open...always.

tch.Not even a little ankle action. OK! Message received. no advances. gotcha. See, it's easy to send the right message. I went to the mall in my days-old jeans and messy t-shirt on a mission for paint and spares, total catastrophe, stank and looked like a hobo (WFH + building project) Girl didn't even look up. A week later I went dressed, shampoo'ed, styled, shaved and cologned. Flashed the black-credit card (not the worn, plain-Jim savings account for household expenses, like last time) Got a wink FROM THE SAME GIRL IN THE SAME SHOP. What YOU WEAR, SENDS SIGNALS!!! what you wear does as well. get it? Got it? Good.

THIS. This is what's wrong with a lot of feminism today. It's NOT the same as 100+ years ago when women didn't get votes because guess what, you get to vote. You aren't your husband's possession and cleaner unless you choose to stay with a man who treats you like that, you can go get a job if you want to or stay at home if you want to, you have access to all kinds of things you didn't 100 years ago. Stop making yourself out to be a victim because your great-great-grandmother was, you're trivialising what your female ancestors achieved.

They are not trivialising what has already been achieved, they are making a point about what has not been achieved since, there is still a long way to go for total equality. And just because women in some countries have more opportunities than they did 100 years ago does not mean we should just roll over and be happy with what we have.

My opinion: Generalization is bad as long as there is nothing backing it up. Basing stuff on gender is way too inaccurate to make any correct claim. To quote Monthy Python: "You are all individuals"

This American YouTuber lost it when she came to New Zealand, because when she had kids in the US, she lost her career and had to start over. Then she found out that we get maternity leave and our prime minister used it during her first term, and it really hit this woman that whatever problems we have in this department, the US is next-level horrible about it. It really sucks and I hope the US improves that.

Okay so here is the proudest moment of my employment. We were in a staff meeting and were told that we hired a woman for the front office and that she was very obviously pregnant and that shortly after starting the job, she would need to go onto maternity leave. We were all told that her pregnancy could not, and should not be a factor when hiring her. 5 years later she is one of the best employees we have and she told me that the day of the interview she was crying hysterically because none of her interview clothes fit and she thought since she was so pregnant she was just wasting her time cause we wouldn't hire her. I was proud of our office then, and I am incredibly proud of her now.

True. But a healthy society should help people (that want to) become parents without having the fear of losing job. And in some cases women are ostracized to become mothers and continue to have a job. Without the right amount of children a society can't continue to work properly. So yes, it's a choice and so have to be made responsibly, but shouldn't be seen with shame

to be fair... children do represent a very real, sometimes very dramatic change in not only your personal life, but possibly your professional life. However -- that said, the pentalties for said changes I imagine grossly outweigh them. I've never been beyond the gruntwork tier (yet), but I've also worked with women who got pregnant and became completely useless at their jobs. If there was no other position for them we simply had to replace them -- if your job can't use you, it cant use you. My shoulder's right buggered and I know that if I get a job with lots of manual labor (lots of lifting or repetitive motions) I wont be able to do it.... I wont be working there long. Again, though, This is what I've seen on the bottom rungs of the ladder. I'll be totally honest I've almost never seen what a lot of people complain about (the various *isms, aside from the general public -- people truly *love* shitting on the common worker); It's always been fair where I worked.

When he first became my friend, I had just hit puberty and my family was going overboard with the whole "ooh they like each other" stuff. Everything from movie scenes to love songs. I was so, so scared to tell my parents he was my friend because I didn't want to deal with my family teasing me about someone who makes me feel valued and whole.

The INSTANT the human race no longer requires the BIOLOGICAL IMPERATIVE to procreate, on THAT DAY, we can all be platonic friends. People will openly compliment you on your level of attractiveness and you will gently reciprocate with a polite thank you! PS, men are firm friends with women they do not find sexually attractive more often that your wildest imagination can handle.

@Soyexfox "Rediciless", "Terrifide"? Just a heads up, maybe don't litter comment sections with rubbish like this if you don't support a feminism thread? I don't believe that your comment was meaningful in any way to any user. You should probably reflect on why you have such a problem with some women, and feel the need to borderline vent into a feminist post. Seems a little off, don't you think? I can't say that some women won't make false accusations, but if your brother has had so many experiences with women accusing him of rape, maybe you need to stop and think that your brother could be a rapist.

Yep, this makes sense. Men dont have women parts, so they have to learn what women like. Add that to most women needing more time to reach that magical moment means low O rates. This is just my personal observations but men are like bottle rockets.Light the fuse, "fweeeeeeeeeeeeep ...POW" and their done. Women are like diesel engines. They need to be preheated, brought up to proper operating temp, and there can be a little turbo lag, but when everything is done right, they go all day and pull a house off the foundation. So a little advice...Women, TELL your partner whats working, what isnt and guide them. Men, LISTEN to your partner. They arent trying to put you down if they offer some guidance in what they like and dont like. Listen and remember. Everyone will be happier if yall do.

Women need 11 minutes after penetration to orgasm on average and men 4 minutes. Women also need more emotional stimulation than men, who are more sensitive to physical stimulation. Knowing such things in combination with patience and anatomical knowledge helps a lot in satisfying the partner.

Even when masturbating I dont orgasm 95%. There is a diff between ejaculating and orgasming. That said I agree that communication is key. The best sex iv had as been with women who would talk with me before, during, and after. Especially if we were able to laugh as well.

Yes and no. Communication is so, so, SO key to achieving sexual pleasure for ALL parties. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of times in heterosexual hookups that communication is lacking (based on casual observations of my friends and their relationships, nothing more). Lesbian hookups I'd expect to end up more frequently in orgasm because, well, both parties are (typically) female and understand the anatomy involved. But my question is: Is a lack of communication in expressing sexual wants and needs, and also the desire to fulfill a partner, a direct consequence of sexism? Personally I'm inclined to think so because of how women are shamed, bullied, and otherwise put down for having any kind of confidence in their sexuality or desire to explore it

Women need to stop tfaking it and give their man pointer. Men need to be open to these pointers and not get offended. It's not surprising that women know their own bodies, and those of other women, better than men do, that's kinda common sense. Too many boys learn about sex from the internet and movies, and think it's supposed to last 5 minutes...until we're told otherwise!

P0rn sells a misleading story, and it's never addressed that it's a *fiction* - I believe age appropriate sex education should include a full discussion on p0rnography. Because boys will find it, and need to told about it *correctly*. And stress the importance of consent in the adult film industry - she is ACTING because that's her JOB. Stop setting up unrealistic expectations that mean men end up *punishing* women for not thrashing around like an excited dolphin the way they saw it on the small screen.

Also, I genuinely don’t know what “ugly” is supposed to mean here, or why it’s so imperative to tell one’s friends that they are.

I think the expectation of telling one's friends that they're ugly comes from men trying to pit women against other women. It's like there's supposed to be a competition among women to find out who is the best, to establish the pecking order. Really, women should pull each other up, not break each other down.

Seriously, people do that? I once got pushed against a woman's butt with my hand on the subway and felt a lot more ashamed than she thought I should. She was cool, I was in puberty, translates to not cool at all, and not calm ... touched a grown woman's ass on accident, I thought she was gonna slap me or so ... she just laughed. I could see her face change from anger to amusement when she turned around, which, when I think of it, tells a different story about what she might have expected to see (a terrifyed 14yo thinking he'd done a serious crime...).

Fine, i'll slam my bear-claw hand down on your shoulder like a dude and cripple your collar bone for life because i have asked 5 times to please take your drink and get away from the bar. Seriously ladies, a firm, flat, intentional hand slightly harder than gentle is universal code for the most polite way to send the "excuse me please, now" message in a club with a crowded bar and music you can't even scream over. guys do the same to each other, total strangers mind you, but on the "lats". Take note next time. We don't do it on the "lats" on you because of the proximity to boobs, THINK!!!. the middle-lower of you back is literally the furtherest from any risk-locations on your entire body. furtherest away from shoulders, lips (top or bottom), boobs, belly button, shoulders face ears, hands, arms... This is UNIVERSAL ETIQUETTE: GET USED TO IT.

The problem is man child AND the fact that people get maried way too quickly and don't live together before. I've been with my bf for almost 10 years now and we live together for 9 years. Living together and dating are 2 really different things. How can you be sure you won't live with a "pig" / in a "pigsty" or a complete neat freak if you only see him/her on his/her "best behaviour". Some day to day challenges can put stress on a relationship. For example my bf was really a laid back relaxed guy and i use to be a neat/control freak wich we couldn't possibily know before we got to live together and we both learn to meet halfway. The solutions are 1) don't marry an adult child : live together before marying and adress the red flags if there are, and if he/she doesn't change LEAVE and 2) don't raise adult children, make them learn basic "household knowledge" and teach them respect for the person who does thing they haven't learn

I agree here. Wife now works back at the office. I do WFH (which pays 7x her salary, go figure). For 20 years now i have cooked, cleaned, washed clothing , done floors, fixed things, invented solutions for the home, made stuff, done groceries... Just after we moved in together,y wife quit cooking and stuck to baking because I make tastier food. I can't stand baking, so win-win. I do it because it needs doing. It doesn't matter who does it, just bloody do it.

Adcertising is perverted. "Ladies, you're all beautiful, blablabla, treat yourself with [whatever pointless product aims at increasing whatever pointless property by whatever pointless principle]" - + also, companies who act like hiring a few fat models wipes out all other ethical worries tied with them. Oh, you mowed down one acre of rainforest every day for 20 years? Hey, all forgiven, for you have a fat model in your ads... What you talking about? No one kills babies. nowhere is that even legal, but there are societies that, kind of, turn a blind eye to people killing their female babies, for girls are considered being worth less than boys. Which is an atrocity that could be ended, were there access to safe birth control - or, to begin with, no effed up beliefs that support crimes of that kind - none is worth less, more, different.

I am not sure about this. I had to take some medications in my life, unrelated to gender, and most of them have horrible, even deadly side-effects. I feel like science is not there yet. The last medication I got was for allergy I have and when I saw that list of side-effects, and it was horrific, I just decided not to. Also migraine meds, awful! My mom died from consequences of stupid knee replacement surgery gone wrong! There is really a small number of medications and procedures that can't in some way kill you. Regardless of what your gender is.

My wife doesn't get on with any pill options (migraines, risk of stroke, major mood swings), so they've offered other options. Until she had her coil, we just used other protection, but they are always working on side effects, it's just the balance between risk vs efficacy.

I watch stuff that was made in the early 2000s and I'm always thinking 'why is everyone white?'. The sad thing is, being a white person who grew up in a very predominantly white part of the UK, the thought never used to occur to me. It even happens with modern stuff, things that are set where there would reasonably be quite a few non-white people around, but yet all the lead characters are white and if there are any non-white people they are shoved in the background.

Simple reason: Viewing demographics. If you audience is 80% white, which, given television and the demographics, it was, you cater to the vast majority of your audience. India is literally 99.99% indian-specific content. 1.4 BILLION Potential viewers. 99.9% Indian, are you going to launch a hispanic-casted show there? Same with music. With the emergence of the black middle-class in the 90's in the USA, hip-hop, rap and R&B arrived. You market to your demographic's buying-power.Simple economics. Selling to the wrong market is the single biggest reason an idea fails, be it music, TV, merch, homes, cars, shoes, etc... If you build it for THEM, they will come. "Spaza" stores in RSA make more money overall with cheap low cost food and clothing than ALL OF THE NAME BRANDS COMBINED... because they are selling to a market that can afford and want the products

I saw 1/2 of one episode, it was horrible. I couldn't finish it. How could that show have lasted 12 years? How cold it be a 'hit'? How could people voted for the monster. Must be a Venn diagram of overlapping circles. Just terrible.

IUDs should be free. They're cheaper for the taxpayers compared to babies.

Baby bust? There's too many kids without decent parents/caregivers. Try working in child services. And yet everyone seems to have a problem with adopting. It's infuriating.

The thing is you can and always could talk about men's issues. It doesn't bother anyone unless it's just being said to shut down an existing conversation.

That's not quite fair. I get the humor in it, but there are plenty of lesbians who prefer masculine girls.

Maybe because having a partner that shares interests lead to less conflict in the relationship?

Then say you want a partner who shares your interests and stop attributing that as being “guy stuff” and “one of the guys,” duh.

They do. All the good men are taken, or gay..Sooo basically, taken. There's a reason Kayleesha, that you are 35 and still single. And it's not the men. Rob, single 37 has lost interested completely. Xbox/PS, beer and pornhub is what his life is about after work and he doesn't really care much for dating.

Context is everything and can be lost in short sentences but in this case I think that this post is not the most progressive of comments. Throwing out casual abuse "cowards", "stop playing the victim" is not the way to unite people or engage in educational debate. The criticisms of this post are valid in my opinion and it would be interesting to see what the original poster would respond with.

Cuz the boys have outdoor plumbing. If they were into outdoor plumbing, they'd probably be dating one of the boys already.

So guys want a dolled-up girly girl and they're a pervert. They want a down-to earth girl that's also their best friend and they're gay. Gotcha

A yes, the binary choice of women, because there are only two clearly-defined types and no room for nuance or complexity.

I'm sorry, but owning a device that's sole purpose to to put your stuff on every conceivable platform known to the human race, and then you go and store it INSIDE those platforms and expect it NOT to get hacked and exposed, is a delusion. Rule 1 of nudes: KNOW WHERE THEY ARE AND WHERE THEY ARE NOT. Either on your camera (NOT PHONE) or safely somewhere physical that only you can access.
