At any given time, the average person has about 12 secrets. They don't have to be extreme; many people keep their political and religious views to themselves, especially when they believe others will agree with them. Some also choose to hide their finances if, for example, they have a lot more or a lot less than it appears.
Point is, we possess a wide variety of personal classified information. So Reddit user Zippping got interested in the most colorful chapters. They recently made a post on the platform, inviting folks to reveal the strangest secrets someone has ever told them. And replies didn't disappoint!

I was 14, a female friend told me that her uncle was molesting her but she was too afraid to speak and asked me to please not say anything. That same afternoon i went to the police station with a friend, anxious asf, and told the police everything. The next week police came to my highschool and took my girl friend. A few days later her mother called mine to thank me and a few months later the uncle was in jail, and still is to this day. I don't know how i had the balls to do that but i'm very proud.
I'm proud of you too. I'm sure the girl ended up grateful and knows she has you to thank for putting this abomination where it belongs, in jail for hopefully a long long time.
When someone finally find the courage to tell, even if it's under "do not tell", it's often because they want it to stop, and do want it told to someone else who does have the resources to stop it. I say that as someone who was told the secret, and convinced her there was NOTHING she did wrong or should be ashamed of, so I helped her to approach an adult who could get things going forward for her.
You are a great person! I could have needed you around!
Load More Replies...I wish I had a friend like you when I needed it. I'm so proud of you ❤️
My uncle should be in jail. Mike P. McElree, die a slow, painful death, you piece of excrement. The physical and emotional scars you caused still burn.
What you did probably ended up saving your friends life, or at the very least saved her from who knows how many more years of her uncle. You should be proud. I hope your still in touch. Prisons have standards with regards to prisoners, as to what is acceptable, what the uncle did, puts him at the VERY bottom - he would and hopefully still is - having a nightmare in there....
As someone who's BIL has served as a Correction Officer (CO) at various Prisons for several decades for the DOC. I can honestly say that you are 100% right! Anyone that has committed an SA on a minor are on the BOTTOM of the Prison Hierarchy, that's not only with the other Prisoners but with the Guards/CO'S as well. Depending on the severity of the crime increases the chance that a Guard will look the other way or be slow to respond when a Prisoner deals out "Prison Justice". Also, sometimes the REALLY bad offenders are a victim of a paperwork "mix up"so they end up in " Gen Pop" while CO'S work on fixing it. Some people will scream and cry that it's not fair to do this to those POS, but if you heard about what some of these MONSTERS have done and sometimes even BRAG about what they did. You would understand that a prison sentence is the VERY least they deserve for what they did to those kids.
Load More Replies...According to Dr. Justin Lehmiller, a research fellow at The Kinsey Institute, the host of the Sex and Psychology Podcast, and the author of 'Tell Me What You Want', our secrets can be "about something positive and exciting, such as a surprise party you're throwing, a new job offer you received, or an engagement proposal you’re about to make."
"Positive secrets like this are the kinds of things we often feel the urge to confess," Lehmiller told Bored Panda. "We want to share the good news and find a way to channel our excitement."
But "at the same time, most of us carry negative secrets—that is, we hold information that could potentially make us look bad to others if it got out. This is the kind of information we're often afraid to share because it makes us vulnerable; however, we sometimes still want to share it anyway. For example, someone who is having an affair might confess this to a close friend, perhaps because they want to talk through the complex and mixed feelings they have, or perhaps they just want to share their excitement about doing something taboo."
When people confess their negative secrets, it's usually a means of facilitating intimacy with another person. "Disclosing information you wouldn’t normally tell other people can be a powerful way to build closeness," Lehmiller highlighted.
Friend of mine pulled the plug on his father. Was very illegal to assist anyone where he lives but his father asked him to do it.
I will never understand why we can legally euthanize animals when they are in distress, but we cannot euthanize humans when they are in distress. SMH
I agree, but initially it was to do with religion (playing god etc), more practically it's about trying to avoid people hastening an inheritance.
Load More Replies...My mother was in hospital at the end of her life, When she started crashing, they were going to put her on life support. I stopped them. She died 2 hours later. There was no hope for her recovery and it was more merciful to just her go. Not an easy thing to do, though.
Get a Do Not Resuscitate agreement. That can save a lot of worry.
Load More Replies...The unfortunate problem is that it's his word that his father wanted this, the father isn't available to say anything. I'd take it that it was true if I knew the circumstances clearly but I'm not a court of law and there are reasons why the law would disagree that can't be ignored.
And this is why we have advanced directives now. I know people dont kike to think about it, but healthy people get hit by cars, etc.
Load More Replies...In many countries, tying the string would count as helping, same as pulling the plug yourself.
Load More Replies...This is why ppl (who are able to consent) should have their own voice in their life. Im sick of the syst demanding someone else speak for a person! If your suffering and on the edge of death? You shouldnt HAVE to have someone ELSE decide if you can pass peacfully or suffer for MONTHS. You shouldnt HAVE to have someone ELSE decide if you can get your tubes tied/whole thing removed. Only YOU should make that decision cause its YOUR body NOT anyone elses!
when my grandmother was at end of life she was given the choice of them continuing to treat her kidney failure or for them to make her comfortable until the end. she chose the latter. my mom & aunt were upset with this decision while i would have assisted her if the choice would not have been given. several years later while discussing her passing i mentioned this to my mom. she was surprised that i would admit to such a thing.
When I was little, whenever we drove past nursing homes, she would shudder and say to just take a shotgun to her before she ever had to go into one of those. She had to watch many family members age with dementia and she was so scared of it...until it started to take her over too. Now it's my turn to be scared of future deterioration
Not saying that what the friend did was wrong (I support that people should be allowed euthanasia), but I’m just wondering how they got away with it?
I don't know where this is, but sometimes things are not pursued.

My HS girlfriend told me her stepdad had been showering and sleeping with her since she was 13. I started dating her when I was 17. She was extremely experienced and very sexually active, which a young guy would enjoy, but it was over sexual and I knew something was up. I asked her and she told me all about it. I tried to handle it, but could not. Her little sister had also just started to be molested. I told them they needed to tell their mother or I would. Well they did and guess what? I was basically kicked out of the relationship. I became the bad guy. I wish now that I could have helped her or dealt with it better. But I hadn't dealt with anything like that. We broke up and their family carried on. It wasn't incest, but it was wrong. She did marry and have children and it looks like a nice situation. Unfortunately her younger sister died of an overdose when she was in her 30's. I'm now in my 50's and this whole situation still bothers me.
I'm so sorry for both these girls, and for this boy too. N'either the girl or the boy are to blame, the only one to blame is the piece of scum who abused the girls. Kids who get abused often get threatened that they or their other parent/siblings will get killed if they ever tell anyone. Or manipulated into thinking that if they tell, it will be their fault that their parents break up and that the other parent will be heartbroken. The girl was probably way too terrified of what would happen once their mom would know, we can't blame her for panicking and pushing him out. And sure, the boy could have gone to the police, but he was just a teenager who didn't know what to do, so I can't blame him either.
Idk, I also blame the mother for not getting her girls out of the situation once she knew about it.
Load More Replies...Don't blame OP, please. Let's see that he did what he could in those days as the kid that he was
Load More Replies...It was rape and I can't understand why you didn't report it to police ot at least other adults. Or perhaps you did but just didn't mention that here?
OP was a kid, thirty years ago. Please put the story in that context and don't judge him
Load More Replies...Back then, a woman reporting sexual assault was just as likely to be dragged over the coals in court. If this is the way our law enforcement and judicial system treated adults, you better believe a child didn't stand a chance. No one would take the word of a child over an adult's denial. The mother is the real piece of work in this situation for allowing both her daughters to go through this just because she needed a man in her life.
He probably did a number on the mother too, but dear lord, protect your children!
Load More Replies...Lehmiller said that we're drawn to hearing other people's secrets for a variety of reasons.
"One is that it can make us feel normal. Almost all of us are carrying around at least some information we don't want to share because we're afraid of being judged, such as having a 'deviant' sexual fantasy. When we hear that other people are having the same thoughts, this can help to reduce feelings of shame, embarrassment, and anxiety because we realize we aren't alone," the psychologist explained.
When I was like 10, my father bragged to me about basically torturing another kid in his highschool. They called him names, locked him into lockers frequently, laughed at him crying in there.. and one time, drenched him in gas and pretended to light him on fire with their cigarettes. He thought it was funny that he cried and pleaded for them not to light him on fire.
He told me about these stories at dinner to "calm me down", after I cried and screamed like hell when he forced me to extinguish a candle with my fingers.
I hope your dad enjoys the flames of whatever hell you believe in
Hope OP is NC fully with this f*ck. Psychopath of a "father" amazed the man wasnt arrested
That’s torture. I hope you’ve found yourself a good therapist. Getting over being raised by abusive parents is no easy thing.
And here I am still haunted, 50+yrs later, for calling a girl fat back in high school.
Not told to me directly— My evil ex-roommate was laughing about how stupid her boyfriend was because she manipulated him into paying for an abortion that wasn’t his. She thought it was absolutely *hilarious* that he never asked, and was *truly* concerned for her health and wellbeing. She was loudly bragging about it on the phone and I could hear her through my bedroom wall. She’s genuinely one of the worst people I’ve ever met. .
At least she's an ex roommate...and it's probably for the best she didn't have that child I can't imagine it would have a good life with someone like that :(
From the Onion: "Man Who Thought He Had No Faith In Women Now Trusts Them Even Less"
I had a friend do this in High School also. She was cheating on her main BF and got pregnant by the side piece. She told guy #1 she spent the tuition money and didn't want to tell her dad. 40 years later and I'm still pissed at her. Not friends with her anymore but I am with the #1 guy.
I despise people who manipulate and then laugh or smile to their victim, acting like it didn't happen or it was a joke.
But we also understand the burden that comes with it. "When someone volunteers a secret, we may also be reluctant to hear it because we then bear some responsibility for keeping the other person's information secret," Lehmiller said.
"For example, let's say your best friend tells you they cheated on their spouse—but you're friends with their spouse. Now you're in a pickle. You might feel the need to keep your friend's secret, but you might also feel the need to disclose it because someone else really needs to know it. And no matter what you do in this situation, someone will get hurt."
This girl told me she spanked her daughter until she threw up because she wet her pants when she was 18 months old and then she had no trouble going to the bathroom. This her advice when I said my daughter was just over 2 and not quite ready for potty training. I didn't take her advice.
geee was the advice giver my mother? Not only did she spank me every time I had an accident, I had to write a whole 70-page spiral notebook front and back full of lines, each time. Find out almost 2 years ago, that my whole spine as a collective is considered a spina bifida, I should not have ever learned to walk and it's surprising the amount of bowel and bladder control I do have (It's not much)
So sad and infuriating that your mother couldn’t look beyond her own discomfort. Hopefully you are surrounded by people who care and love you. Because you deserve so much more.

She was aware that one of her children were being abused by his 2 brothers and did nothing.
Her mother and mine would get on like a house on fire. Now if we could just get them into that house...
Our neighbors were like this. The parents were in and out of jail, so the kids were raised by grandparents. They said it was fine that the big brother beat up the younger sister, so she could learn to be tough and stand up for herself. He was 8 or 9, she was 4 or 5.
The OP says in the post that they were told this 20 YEARS after the fact.
Load More Replies...One of my brothers sexual assaulted the younger brother for several years. My mother made the victimized brother go to therapy not to work through this horror but because he was the one who obviously had the problem for allowing it to continue. Yeah, she was a real peach of a mom.
So wrong. I can speak from experience having helped my mother raise my nephew who ended up having severe ODD. We had to make the most difficult decision to place him into the foster system 1. It was the only way we could get him the mental health care he required and 2. We had to for the safety of the rest of us in the house, including his younger sister he did far worse than beat up on. He tried to choke my mom on multiple occasions. Even though he was in the foster system, we had weekly visits and continued in therapy with him. We didn't just give him up. He just couldn't live with family. He is fine now as an adult and we all have a fine relationship with him. Couldn't be prouder of the work he did to get there. He has since said we made the correct decision for him.
Your mom should have had your back. Let me know if you would like to be our son.
Guy told me he and his cousin had hooked up at every family get together since they were 9. He's almost 40 and married.
Every now and then we hear someone say they lead completely honest lives and do not keep any secrets. According to Lehmller, there is a chance they might be telling the truth, but we will never know for sure.
"Sometimes we lie to keep our secrets hidden. And, sometimes, the information we keep secret is the information we've lied about. As a social psychologist, I suspect it's the rare person who never keeps a secret. The ability to keep a secret has a certain power—as does the ability to selectively reveal a secret when it suits your purposes. Humans are reluctant to voluntarily give up power, and the ability to keep a secret (or choose when to reveal it) is one power that everyone has."
Guy told me he’s sterile. His wife doesn’t know, nor do her 3 kids.
Is it possible he's wrong? If he had a vasectomy, men who've had have them have gotten people pregnant. It's very rare but if he had one and it didn't take that'd explain the kids. If he was tested years ago and been told he was sterile his sperm could have increased and he isn't aware. Hopefully it's one of those and not that his wife has cheated.
Similar thing happened to my dad. Doctor told him he was infertile but he had three kids with my mom. And my mom’s no cheater.
Load More Replies...Wait, were they kids from the same marriage? So he knows they are not his kids, but she thinks that he thinks thery are his??
Perhaps he accepted the cheating because he wanted children?
The wife could be cheating on him or he isn't sterile. But if he honestly thought he was sterile, why no paternity test? How many more does she need to pop out before raising his curiosity?
You also HAVE to follow the Urologist's instructions and have no sex until after the post op appt.. I worked in a Urology office for 6 years.
You can have sex, you just have to use protection, and take a sample back after so many ejuclations..... my husband got one

Dude straight up said out loud in class "idk what the big deal is about sleeping with a cousin, it's no different than a FWB"..... The silence after that was sooooooo loud.
What's up with the incest??? We know it happens it's really gross in my opinion and can result in birth defects more so than a pregnancy from two non related adults...
Did you know that first cousins can have a baby together with little risk of birth defects?
Load More Replies...First of all, of course it seems gross to me in this day and age (and location), but it's weird to me that people don't know that 1) All societies have taboos against mating between very close relatives 2) A large number of societies that anthropologists have studied do NOT have a taboo against first cousins marrying 3) Many societies actually appreciated cousins marrying, because the families already know each other, and 4) While the entire society needs outside genes as a whole, there is only very slightly higher chance of recessive issues with first cousins offspring.
And at least in earlier days, it served to concentrate (or conserve) wealth.
Load More Replies...Been happening since people started mating. Close cousins are great for experimenting and that’s what young people do. Experiment with their emotions and body’s. Hopefully there are no problems.
In India it is societally acceptable among some communities and quite common. They have "rules" though. Children of two brothers or two sisters cannot marry. It has to be children of a brother-sister pair. One reason was to keep the family wealth/property in the family but I also know one community where they marry their uncle, mother's brother specifically. I have always and will always find it creepy and weird but yes it is a common thing.
A coworker told me that his son had been molesting his daughter. They were 10 and 8, or somewhere in that range. I gave him some phone numbers to get help.
Wondering where they learned it. Something's even more wrong in the family than OP is presenting.
Not necessarily. Kids have different levels of curiosity based on instincts. What's "molesting" to adults aren't necessarily the same to children. Either way it's wrong and should be stopped, obviously.
Load More Replies...Better investigate the son's history. They are quite likely both victims.
Helloooo? CPS? The dad was aware of this and did nothing? Plus, why and how the af his 10yo want to, much less, know how to m0lest someone? There must be other things he’s not telling you…
From the looks of it from the OP, the coworker (the dad) got in touch with the authorities.

A classmate at her old school had a deadly peanut allergy so she put peanuts in her food to see what would happen….
I think that the person who did this was a child at the time, so not to kill, just had no idea what would do.
Load More Replies...Kid sounds like a sociopath...and like this is the start of her villain origin story.
There was a no-peanut policy in my daughter's class (because of her). This guy brought cookies his mother made for his birthday. My daughter had a cold and couldn't smell. The mother used peanut oil (she didn't think it made any difference). My daughter injected her epi-pen and ended-up in the hospital. The principal brought her over because waiting for the ambulance would have been longer than getting there by car. My daughter got pumped out and injected again. She passed out in my husband's arms. After that, my daughter was no longer permitted to eat anything brought by others so parents told their kids in advance and I would give my daughter whatever would be presented that day, i.e. I would make cookies or cake and she would eat her own stuff and the rest of the class would eat what the b-day parent had brought. Now she has her own child and she's bringing her to an allergist next week.
I did that. I regret it now as it could’ve killed him. I didn’t even know what exactly allergies were but I still did it. His allergy was thankfully not very severe but I keep thinking about how things could’ve gotten worse
I can believe it. This isn't too far from thinking it's funny to put a spider on a classmate who's phobic, you just thought you'd make him squeal a bit
Load More Replies...They they gave their 5 year old step daughter spoiled milk because the little girl “is a b***h”.
I had to tell my sister to stop calling her 2 year old names like"brat" and "b***h", because the child would grow up believing that's how her motther thinks of her.... and it would explain why her adult son hates her so much.
They don't deserve to be parents, I mean seriously, what kind of people would do that....??
I don't understand how people can be so cruel to little kids like this
When i was a kid an aunty admitted to burning down her boyfriends sisters house with kerosene.
I like to imagine that she just said that casually over dinner like it was nothing.
For sure. Can I have the last slice of pizza? Oh, BTW, I burnt down Martha's house last night so don't answer the door for couple days, OK?
Load More Replies...That is not a nice thing to do. Thinking that jail time ought to have happened.

My grandmother was pregnant before marriage (the father was someone other than my grandfather). She put the baby in a home for the mentally ill. My dad had no idea he had an older brother until after both his brother and his parents died. It explained why we weren’t allowed to talk to certain family members. They knew and disagreed with my grandmother. They were the ones to spill the beans many years later.
How on earth would a BABY be considered suitable for a mental hospital??
I was in one, It was not a "mental hospital" There Orpanages ATTACHED to asylums, and very very messed up,i was 7 when placed it one and saw many "friends" die cause they were there for the "mental" part, including hanging and OD and other {one even forced me to help him, i was 8 and it was horrible i didn't understand why he didn't wake up....} Thank fully the place i was in was over 25 years ago and was shut down.... Load More Replies...My mom worked with a lot of these adults with special needs that once were institutionalized. The thought of things they've seen but are unable to communicate scares to this day when I think about it...my mom told me stories of things she read about in their records. The abuse they suffered and their behaviors as a result. Not to mention how the medical community basically experimented on them as there was no way to tell the potential outcomes in various surgeries, ect because of their underlying conditions. Truly horrifying how the most vulnerable in our society are treated. :(
depending on the age of the poster this could have been way back so yes this is a very valid thing. remember women were sent to mental institutions until relatively recently (mid 60s) by their husbands even though nothing was wrong with them but they talked back or smoked or drank "too" much. Mental institution back in the day was not the same thing as it is now. it was a place to hide things you didnt want people to know about. Hell the patriarch of the Kennedys had his own daughter committed because she rebelled by dating and smoking and having her own ideas, she was then lobotomized which actually ended up damaging her brain so much she couldnt function and became what we call special needs. Then her sister started the Special Olympics. So yes sending a secret baby (of probably a prominent family in there town) away to a mental hospital to hide it away is absolutely a thing.
She put the baby in a home for the mentally ill? First of all, not an orphanage, foster care, a family that wanted to adopt? And second, the mental institution took the baby? If I’m missing smth, sorry, let me know, but how can a baby even be tested for a mental illness?
She may not have had a choice about giving the baby up. Also mentally ill in those days included things like Downs syndrome, which would have been identifiable at birth. Not that any of those explanations are good.
Load More Replies...Why must there be such pain over a child, who is in no way responsible for being here?
My aunt on my mother's side, was born with problems, but even though my grandmother and I did not get along, she kept her home and raised her like her other kids were being brought up. This was in the mid 1930s so it was very rare to raise a child with development and mental health issues at home. My aunt had a wonderful life and died in her early 70s.
My mother worked in a hospital for kids with severe mental deficiencies which often accompanied physical deformities. Most were institutionalized since birth. She had to quit after a few years because it was just too painful. Most of them lived short lives.
Thought I caught my gf cheating. Turns out she was selling her urine to some internet pervert. So I guess I did, but not what I expected.
I would be willing to bet you a tenner the "internet pervert" used it for a d**g test.
Is it though? I mean, we sell blood and sperm to hospitals etc, if some idiot wants to pay for urine then a fool and his money are easily parted imo.
Absolutely. I donated both for free to the NHS. Partner didn't complain of infidelity over it.

When I (63m) was in my middle 20s a friend came over and asked me to pee in a flask for him. When I asked, "Why me", he said that out of our entire friend group (some 15 of us), I was the only one he knew that didn't do any d***s! That was true and I'm still unsure how I feel about that revelation.
I had a friend who got routinely d**g tested using his sister's urine. I would have loved to see the look on his face when they told him he was pregnant.
I had to do a d**g test once where a dude watched me pee. He literally watched me to make sure the urine came out of my penis!
It's how every test was done when I was in the military. Sucked when your name came up to do collection watch. Nothing fun about a front row seat to 100 dudes peeing in a cup. Especially the ones that needed more water, the smell was awful

In college our biology lab was about five benches, with four to five people working at each one. My bench had three girls on it, one of whom would tell the others stories about how she was dating her uncle. The stories were all graphic, horrific, and weird. She did not have an inside voice, and the entire lab was fully aware. Not sure if its a secret? But it should have been...
How does someone even come up with the thought: " hmm, i think i'm gonna date my niece".
To be fair, uncle and niece could be around the same age (if niece's parent was much older than their brother). Still weird, but at least without an element of pedophilia
Load More Replies...No it shouldn't be a secret 🤔 I don't know how old they are but dating your uncle...who approached who, how did it start? Definitely a power imbalance, not to mention the incest lol
I went to school with a girl who was older than her uncle by a few months, they were in the same class. So power imbalance is not a given. (They weren't up to anything, I'm just giving an age example)
Load More Replies..."Not sure if its a secret? But it should have been..."No it should have been reported to the police,by the teacher.
I know someone doing this. Moved in with her uncle as well. Thinks the family believes they are just roommates. Everyone knows.
The stories in this post are mental. What's going on with people?
Girlfriends brother pretended to go to school for 3 years and made fake school reports.
He probably did it for family, but not to get into a university.
Load More Replies...D-I-L did this, prior to the marriage into our family. Lying to a parent is one thing, they were paying.., but lying to your BF then Fiancé that was just cruel, in my opinion. There have been so many issues since...So Many
That she was now married to the man her ex-husband caught her cheating with - his father/her kids' grandfather.
My uncle's first baby mama left him for another guy, had a kid with him, and then left that guy for the guy's father and had a kid with him. What makes it even better is my uncle, new guy, and new guy's dad all had the same first name.
I had a friend come home to visit and during a lunch out he told me he had messed around on his wife. But he didn’t stop there, he went on to tell me that he had slept with over 100 women since they had gotten married. He then broke down and cried in a crowded restaurant and sobbed for like ten minutes. That was like 5 years ago and they’re still married.
I wonder how many sexually transmitted infections that poor wife has had from that POS cheater?!?
It sounds like the husband had a problem, based on how after admitting it, he broke down and cried. Sex addictions are just as serious as other forms of addiction.
Load More Replies...Don't think so. If just were a cheater he wouldn't break down and cry. I think he's got an addiction and knows that he has a problem. A friend of mine had the same problem, hid it well, then some day, she broke down and spilled it all out
Load More Replies...Love how people on here jump to defend a woman who had 3 kids when her husband was sterile (most likely she cheated, multiple times) but call a guy who cheats a POS. Pot, meet kettle.
I think it had more to do with vasectomy not always being 100% effective. It could be cheating or it could be that. In this case, the person admitted to cheating.

Less depressing one: A friend told me once that they use a hairdryer to dry their whole body off after a shower... not friendship ending but it made me realize that people truly have completely different perspectives.
This isn't weird, this is the healthy thing to do! My daughter has sensitive skin, so I have hee dry all her little nooks and crannies with a hair dryer. Especially her armpits. Poor baby gets horrible rashes if she doesn't make sure she is completely dry.
But you don't do their whole body with it, right? You can pat dry the larger areas with a soft towel
Load More Replies...As long as they were out of the shower while using the hairdryer, I honestly do not see a problem with this.
I don't see where that would harm anyone, other than the electric bill. Not something I'd personally do, but I can see reasons someone might.
Well I mean if I'm cold sometimes I use my gecko's heat lamp (when it would normally be off for her so it doesn't effect her anyway) to warm me up a bit.
My gynecologist actually prescribed blow drying to avoid infection when I was in highschool.
Girl I used to go to school with would wait till her parents got drunk and nick cash from their wallets.
This doesn't seem that odd. When I was a young miscreant I would steal a little cash from my folks now and then. They weren't even drunk.
We probably all went through this phase. My parents had a store and there was a hiding place for coins for the till. I would take some to play at the local arcade. Probably a lot less, overall, than the staff stole from them.
Load More Replies...A lot of children who grow up with parents who drink a lot do this. For a lot of kids who have d**g addict/alcoholic parents this is essential for survival.
All of these answers are really really sad, both the drinking and the money theft. My parents let me sip their drinks when they were drinking, I never stole liquor from them and although I have drunk at times in my life I am a very moderate drinker. I also never stole money from them, my mother was very proud of my honesty, and the fact I took a nickel from her purse and left her a note telling her so. Honesty is much easier than sneak theft.
My late father was a functioning alcoholic he would be fine through day even worked 3 jobs but on a night he needed 2 bottles of wine to sleep so he would always pass out on the sofa instead of a bed my sister would rummage down sides of sofa once a week and come up with about 20 pound+ dint find out till afew year ago when my dad found out too
My friend did similar, then we’d go to an off license. Ok. In retrospect that sounds unhealthy, but we were at boarding school most of the time, occasionally go to her house for the weekend. Itronically a couple years later as a senior she got involved with the school d**g creep and stole cash all the time. Now she’s the class alumni contact. Needless to say I remain far from that whole reunion thing.
I never stole money from my parents ironically my parents didn't really drink but always had it in the house, so my friends and I would sneak drinks from the bottles and fill them with water. They never knew! In fact, when my father passed away and I cleaned out his house I threw most of the bottles in the recycle bin. Kept a few empty bottles for memories :)
It reminded me of a joke (or maybe a Reddit post?) - one guy did the same to a bottle of vodka his parents kept in a cabinet. When he finally reached the age he could drink legally, parents gifted him the very same bottle and told him to have fun with his friends. i'd bet they knew :)

During a class reunion a high-school classmate admitted that cityscapes turned him on. Apparently he had a skyscraper fetish.
Coming this summer, its a love that crossed boundaries of what it means to be in love. John is a normal man, but he has a secret, he is sexually attracted to skyscrapers. At night he looks at the skyscraper across the street and things about what it could be like is a man could love a skyscraper. What John doesn't know is the skyscraper ( also named John) gets turned on by humans. He is in love with John as well, but knows how they could never live together. Two people ( kinda.), ones a skyscraper, ones a human. In love with each other, but neither of them know. Will they ever find true love in each other? Made by the same studio who made classics like Having sex with a wagon, John f***s a sewage pipe ( Gone wrong gone sexual), and Johnny John and the railing. This groundbreaking film directed by John "Johnny" Johnson shows what it really means to be in love.
This sounds like a Lifetime movie in the making!

Must be nice to have a fetish to Google that doesn't result in computer viruses.
My friend told me he would regularly lurk around hospitals at late hours with his dating apps on and pick up nurses.
Err, no, the dating app is a 2-way tool, willing parties only.
Load More Replies...I would suspect that a nurse getting off a late night shift would be damned tired of the human body and any activity connected with it.
Not if he's using a dating app that the nurses would obviously be using it by choice, too. This is just his way of ensuring he matches to his preferred type...nurses.
Load More Replies...I know it's a dating app and people can say no but it doesn't sit well with me, seems a bit odd. But i could be wrong
One of my coworkers, 6 months pregnant at the time, smoking in the employee parking lot.
“Please don’t tell anyone!”.
Those aren't belly kicks it's her baby coughing
Load More Replies...Oh I won't tell anyone but in my head I've destroyed you and shame on you for not quitting! It's the only time in my adult life I ever really quit...I promptly restarted after miscarriage though...:/
Sorry about both halves of that last sentence. :(
Load More Replies...Had a cousin tell me that she smoked the whole time she was pregnant with her 2nd child (after the fact) because the 1st one was 'too big' & she wanted to keep the 2nd ones weight down....yes, the 2nd one had numerous health issues after birth. yes, she's a pos
Reminds me of a bit from a hidden camera show years ago. They hire an actress to wear a fake baby bump and send her into a bar to down some shots. The bartender continues to serve her despite the fact she looks overtly pregnant.
Working in restaurants we were taught that it is not ok to discriminate. If we refused we could be sued. Only reason to refuse to serve someone is if they are underage. If they appear too drunk then get management, servers / bartenders weren't allowed to make that choice on their own
Load More Replies...Knew someone that did this to both of her kids and both had lung issues from birth. She still didn't think it was a bad thing even after all the issues when they were infants. Ugh.
She and her husband, with whom she has two kids, are first cousins.
I am in USA Tennesse. First cousins is not illegal, but still frowned upon. Illegal incest is limited to siblings, parent and child, and grandparents.
FWIW, unless there's some serious genetic problems already, it's not a health issue. Now, if it's generation after generation of first cousins marrying, then the potential for genetic conditions starts getting bad. Culturally speaking, though, ew.
Load More Replies...Marrying a cousin was, and in some cultures/communities still is, very common. You only share 1/16th of DNA with a first cousin. That's about the same as a random person of the same ethnic group as you. The issue is when you have repeated intermarriage within a small group/community for several generations without any new/outside contributions. Then everyone starts to share very similar DNA and you start to get genetic issues.
Excellent explanation! An example is some of the Amish sectors.
Load More Replies...Did you know that first cousins can have children with little risk of birth defects?
4-5%, same as a woman having a child at the age of 41, iirc.
Load More Replies...First cousin marriage is legal in the UK. Up until the First World War 4% to 5% of marriages were between first cousins, but such marriages are now vanishingly rare, except in certain groups (2/3 of marriages in rural Pakistan are between first or second cousins).
It’s not your fault, and it was rather common back in the day. Still doesn’t make it the most moral decision today…

I reunited with a friend I hadn't seen for a while and she told me she's poly now, she has a boyfriend, but her husband doesn't know.
A poly is in a consensual relationship between multiple partners who are in it together, yes, this is just plain ugly cheating wrapped up to look like mutton dressed as lamb.
Load More Replies...That's not poly, that's cheating. The whole point of polyamory is being ethically non-monogamous.
My nephew told me he ate a Skittle from out of a garbage can, yesterday. He didn't mention who's garbage it was, so...the size of the Eww is dependent on where the garbage came from.
My ex-best friend once ate a starburst from the street. No wrapper - nothing
Nope. Garbage candy all gets the same eww. But TBH being gross is how we get an immune system.
Grandma worked in kindergarden and said the dirtiest kids were never sick.
Load More Replies...My niece came up to me crunching on something, it was a snail. Tried to get it out of her mouth, toddlers have a strength you can't imagine when they want to keep something in their hands or mouth.
I found a cracker in the school sandbox and ate it. It tasted so bad that I ate sand to get the taste out of my mouth
LoL several times. Yep, the size of the “Ewww” depends on the location of said Skittles.
When my brother was 4, we were coming back from the park and he really wanted our mom to buy him some ice cream. She said no and told him it was almost dinner time. He got so mad that he grabbed a popsicle stick from the ground (with a bit of melting popsicle on it) and stuck it in his mouth.
A girl I dated in China told me her mother, who was from Guangzhou, ate fetus when she was a teen. According to her, “back then”, people believed it helped the skin grow beautiful.
Fetus or Placenta? Lots of cultures have the eating placenta thing. Unless she means like dpig fetus or something. That is in a lot of cultures too. But I am worry they mean like human fetus...from a miscarriage or something
I have to point out that it does not specify that it was a human fetus, could have been an animal fetus?
Wait... Dumplings is REAL? (https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/9060-2)
sadly yeah... I go on to point out that in the early 90s' a tiny {now gone} Japanese village killed a woman who had an ALBINO son, all cause they thought "he was a demon"....... Believe me if the old woman that lived near us hadn't overheard them planning it, then I would have been killed too, People that "back then" was super super long ago in the like the 1900's, they still do this stuff, and this was like ....in 1998 or so
This project has been cancelled. But we haven’t told everyone yet. You need to continue going to meetings on how to fix it, while also going to meetings on what to replace it with. For maybe a couple of weeks.
It happens but it isn’t over until the contract is legally cancelled and it has been officially signed off. I’ve seen them come back from the dead too. If you can charge any learning and development time to the project, now’s your chance.
WTAF? WHY aren’t people told? Tell them so they can start USEFUL work on something else! Why continue to throw money at a dead project? I’ve never heard anything so silly!
My friend's bf but complicated (it's always been on and off) told me he got a vasectomy. My friend has 1 son with him she is a single mom, though. She has been tell me about how she wants to remove her birth control and not tell him because they did make a cute kid. Also he does maybe 2% of any child care and doesn't pay child support. It's a weird situation but the bf is long friends with my husband. She and I were friendly but our kids are only 6months apart so we hang out alot.
Lol, I'm less bothered by the incest than I am the constant Alabama jokes.

I'm not knocking anyone if being with your cousin is your thing. It's just definitely not mine lol. I have two male cousins one is a raging alcoholic and the other an overly opinionated loud mouth man-child (think MAGA). The last time we were in the same house he challenged me verbally and lost badly everyone was laughing at him, then he stepped on my foot intentionally and hard grinding his heel on my toes so I punched him in the shoulder HARD and sent him to the floor butt first. I kicked his a** when we were kids and I will do it as an adult if I have to!! Then I get in trouble with my aunt because of course she only sees what I do not what he does...lol gotta love family! : D
Fortunately, I've never fancied any of my relatives, or even their partners. I'm sure it was mutual :(
