The world has been really testing us the last couple of years, and it's easy to end up in a toxic news cycle, overexposing yourself to negativity. So in an attempt to remind you that life's not all bad, we at Bored Panda decided to show you the Facebook group 'Wholesome Memes.'
Yes, it's young even by the internet's standards (the group was created in April 2021), but this community already has 566,000 members posting everything that makes them happy, and has become a real safe haven where you can rest from infuriating headlines.

Load More Replies...Five years ago next month I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. And if my child grows up to be a woman, I'll be happy my child grew up happy and loved and healthy.
That was my same answer for the longest time. But with friends and family members having had babies that weren't perfectly healthy I have changed my mind about saying this. Any baby is a good baby. Any baby is so very welcome. I was lucky with 2 healthy babies, but my friend who had a premie and spent many months in the nicu was also very lucky to have his baby. My other friend who had a baby who desperately needed a transplant (and they got one!!!!) was also lucky to have her baby. My parents who had me 6 weeks before due date in the 80ies, a very sickly baby that gave them such worry and sorrow over not having a cure, were also lucky to have me. My other friend who had her baby and then lost her baby within a month was unlucky, but also lucky to have had her baby (not wanting to downplay the loss, please don't misunderstand, from her own words "my baby was a gift and I'm grateful to have met them even if it was for such a short time). Any baby is a perfectly good baby
Nobody is born a racist but can be taught to be as beautiful as this. Good parenting makes good people.
My family has always been very anti racism . I just assumed everyone was that way. I almost passed out when this sweet little boy from my daughter's kinder class was sitting in my lap and telling me he loved me. Then he said "but Jason shouldn't love Olivia because she's black", about two kids in the class. I sat there absolutely stunned and was so sad. Who teaches that to a three year old ? I told him it's ok to love people no matter what color they are. I hope he thought about that , and I hope some day he was able to outgrow those beliefs
We managed to get in touch with the creator of the group, Pritam Singh Rathore, and he was happy to tell us more about it.
"I started it because I want to spread positivity all around," Pritam explained to Bored Panada, adding that he has been working with social media in one way or another since around 2012, and this experience helps him run the project.
"The members are amazing, and they share awesome content, but the biggest topics, in my opinion, are animals and relationships," Pritam said, admitting that he also has other niche communities.
Doing something for others without wanting a thankyou is the best kindness.

Off topic, but how much cost the internet in US? Because in Slovakia, you can get unlimited, without FUP, optical fiber internet from few bucks, like 10-12 dollars/month 🤷🏼♂️☺️
There is a monopoly in my town and we only have one internet option. It costs me $80 a month.
Load More Replies...See!!! If the world had more of this we would all be better off!!! We can all win if we help each other. Super love this!
Pritam also told us something very similar to what we've heard from the creator of 'Humans Of Marketplace' which is that Facebook itself makes it incredibly hard for the community to properly function.
"Managing the group, you and your admin/mod team have to be active all the time," he said. "A group on Facebook is totally different from a page because people might have malicious intent and litter the comments with abuse. That means people who are in charge of it have to spot and delete such comments before someone else does and reports it directly to Facebook or else the violation will be recorded."
Isn't it sad when things that should be commonplace are so scarce we cry when they happen?
Load More Replies...wholesome that people are watching out for her, scary that people might have to actually do that for real situations
This made me tear up, too. Made me think of how my dad used to walk for exercise with me before school even in the freezing cold, because I thought I was fat. I wasn’t. He’s still with us and I’m so thankful.
This is sweet and wholesome, but I wish a person would ever have to say no…
Mine have learned it means breakfast. They come snuggle with me after the first alarm because they know we will get up when it goes off the second time. I love kitties.
It’s not a dumb post it’s a beautiful one now excuse me I need to cry a bit
Nothing dumb about it, hope you're both always this beautifully happy!
my grandparents bought a similar chair for my dad when he was a child, then my older bro was born and he took the chair. then i was born and i took the chair. now he has a child of his own, so the chair is his now. that chair is about 60 years old now.
Not dumb whatsoever! This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen/read!
On my landing, next to the stairs is the tiny little rocking chair my husband used as a very young child. It's a bit of a nuisance really as I have to move it to vacuum every time but we'd neither of us ever get rid of it.
Fans didn't forget them..
Fenerbahce have paid tribute to famous fans Mumtaz Amca and Ihsan Teyze, who have both passed away in recent years, by placing cardboard cutouts of the couple at their seats. The pair rarely missed a game at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium during their years as fans before Mumtaz sadly passed away a few years ago, his wife Ihsan also died recently. When the club played behind closed doors, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, they were able to pay tribute to the pair. Their pictures have been made into cardboard cutouts and placed in the seats that they often took up to watch their team play.
Did the husband pass away? He’s missing in the 2016 photo and the wife looks so sad.
They both did, but yes, he passed away first so she had to go to the game without him.
Load More Replies...This is both sad and sweet. Look at the difference in the difference face from 2015 to 2016. All of the light is gone after the passing of her Husband. It's sad to learn that they're both deceased now, but at least they are together again. I love to see how this team has memorialized them. Beautiful story end tribute ❤️
Sorry for the typos. I can't edit my post. " Look at the difference in her face from 2015-2016". Beautiful story and tribute.
Load More Replies...The same applies to posts. As you can imagine, when there are more than half a million members, the amount of content they want to share with each other is huge, but just a few slip-ups and the group is done.
"If you have approved a post and it then got removed by Facebook, your group might be at risk. 2 or 3 such violations will get it banned," Pritam said. Thus, at least one moderator must be online at any given time and make sure that everything is going according to policy.
Oh my god that's so cool! It's like when my father gave me a videogame console so my mom could rest a little bit and now I am a game developer.
My school did something like this once cep it was not the school who did it it was Mother Nature and instead of coin we got fire ant😓
Used to do this w my daughter w fairies. We'd leave food and clothes out for them in the fairy garden and they'd leave notes and jewelry and handmade new furniture or whatever else I could think of. It was a magical little 4 yrs. She still loves fairies at almost 20 and we have a pretty extensive handmade and bought fairy village all throughout our koi pond waterfall mini ecosystem garden
When I was a kid, my dad would set up little treasure hunts for me and my sister. We had to follow each clue we found to find the next clue, until eventually we got the treasure (a lunchbox buried in the sandpit, with sweets inside!). Those were good times. I was lucky to have such a great dad. :D
For years I watched my moms hands as they created amazing garments and art with fabric. When I was little, She encourage me to make things with the scraps.. When I got older, I designed clothes for my little sister, and she’d make them. I just finished 30 years in costume design and wardrobe for theatre and film.
I did this once for a little one's birthday party - buried coins, shells, & decorative stones. They loved the treasure hunt!
finally someone knows the movie also im not crying you are

My grandpa had Alzhheimer's, too. He said almost the same thing to me. Even when he was on his death bed, he retained his love for classical music. When asked what song he wanted played at his funeral, he immediately responded: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. I will love you always, Grandpa Jack😭😭😭
I was holding back the tears like a champ, but abuelita opened the floodgates
I miss my lola (grandma). I used to lie down beside her and listen to her stories before going to bed. I didn't care if it was on repeat. I would trade all the things in the world just to hear her stories again. ❤️
Just today I learned my dad's diagnosis. Heading the same direction, although road has different name.
The identical expressions on all of their faces are so serious - so funny!

I'm so glad their co-workers went along with it, too. Everyone's trying to find ways to laugh and boost morale, and it ain't easy.
But groups like this are needed as mainstream media isn't always working in the best interest of its viewers. "Unfortunately, a lot of the news we consume today isn’t so much reporting as it is a way of keeping people addicted to the news cycle," said licensed psychologist Logan Jones, PsyD.
Yep or hear me out just hang out with the cat and ignore everything else
We should all have our social comfort zones on t shirts to save people being made uncomfortable. Mine would say “I’m the person who makes people uncomfortable by talking to strangers, but I find it difficult to stop myself. It’s a nervous thing.”

Since sensational headlines get more attention, Jones says media outlets often end up focusing on disaster reporting—and rarely any positive news.

Please tell me you know the song "How Do You Talk to a Little Baby Goat" by Tom T. Hall? If not, I feel like you could get a great deal of use from it.

Reading out loud to each other. Bringing each other a coffee. Saving something to watch together because you know they'll laugh hysterically at it. Absently sharing a bag of snacks. We're celebrating 25 years of "boring" this year!
Just the same here. We can sit for hours on the sofa, reading, holding hands, and not saying anything more exciting than “did you let the dogs out?” We’ve been together for 47 years, survived heart attacks, cancer, and heartbreak, and say to each other each night, “We are so lucky!”
Load More Replies...I have this!! People don't understand how powerful this kind of love it!!! My hubby and I have the best time just being with each other. I wish this for all of you!!!!!!!!
Right? Like even on the rare moments we have an offer for someone to babysit so we can go on a "date", we usually just prefer to ride together to get coffee and talk. No stress, no dressing up, just us and some caffeine 😂.
Load More Replies...I feel a lot of people need to understand this. Many people seem to think the flame has died or there are no fireworks and leave a solid relationship. People things do not have to be all spark all the time. Learn to be content with just okay. There are many times where you will float along in your relationship and just be okay together. In these times of okayness you will find happy moments that will forge your love more. Be it a warm glance, a soft embrace, a witty remark - these moments are wonderful and bring back the rush of feelings that bonded you together in the first place. Just remember it is okay if things are just okay.
My husband and I have always had similar ways of thinking and processing information. So the thing that lets me know we are doing great is when I hear him say what I'm thinking, I know we are talking enough and listening to each other enough that we are on the same page. It warms my heart every time to find we are still in sync, even with the increase in busyness and responsibilities as we've gotten older.
Load More Replies...That's not boring love. That's comfortable love. I married my best friend and 34 years of love that allows us to read each other's minds. No drama please!!
I knew a nice kid named John who was the only popular kid who didn’t bully me
We don't really have that same school culture where I'm from. We might have one 'bitchy' group, but they aren't outright mean to anyone, just like to gossip. We do get bullies, but if you are bullied you usually still have a close group of friends as well, and it is getting easier to stamp out bullying when it occurs. We don't have cliques either, just friendship groups, many of which people move in and out of over the high school years. It's not a utopia, but seems a far sight better than American high schools are, if media and personal stories I have heard are accurate.
My husband did this with my ultimate comfort food, polenta. He slow-cooks it for hours, whipping in mascarpone cheese. Sometimes if he leaves on a trip, I'll find he made polenta the night before and portioned it out for me to have little dishes of it every day. These kinds of acts of love are the things that keep us going. (I get him weird t-shirts and the various lemon-scented toiletries.)
Told my daughter, no more "relationships" for me, unless he can fix a PERFECT (white cooked, yolk liquid) soft-boiled egg - she rolled her eyes. 😉😉
Annie Miller, MSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, explained the process like this: when we experience a threat, our brain activates the fight or flight response, and the systems in our body react accordingly.
Consuming the news can activate the sympathetic nervous system, which causes our body to release stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Then, when a crisis is happening, and we are experiencing this stress response more frequently, physical symptoms may arise.
Plus they rush to comfort you when you are sad. I was crying after my 18 yr old cat died and my two dogs saw me from across the backyard and came running.
It is one of the best things. I mean they act like that when you come in from getting something from the car. Who doesn't want an appreciation parade when you come back in the house?? lol
I met a dog named “fizz” (very apt!). She was completely untrained but SO HYPED for literally anything that to get her to do what you want all you had to do was act really excited.
There was an elderly gentleman who lived down the street. His wife was wheelchair bound, but he built a "sidecar" type attachment to his bike frame which allowed him to connect his wife's wheelchair to it. They biked together every afternoon. She was always smiling and laughing. Everybody drove very slowly past them and she always waved; he kept both hands on the handlebars and smiled.
Truly remarkable what love can accomplish, no matter the struggle, the roadblocks ,the downfalls life can bring sometimes heavy and often.. the human beings ability to love and truly make life better is just remarkable. This is what life is about. Adapting to everything with positive solutions.
This is the Australian way. Helping out a mate no matter wife, husband, friend, stranger. Makes me proud to be and Aussie
There was an Australian teen/older child a couple of years ago who made something similar for his brother who was disabled too.

This emotional toll and negative effect on the psyche was demonstrated in a study that found people who watched negative material, as compared to those who watched positive or neutral material, showed an increase in both anxious and sad moods after just 14 minutes of viewing television news bulletins and programs.

If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let Mr. Whiskers go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you."

it's so bad because you know the dog to a point understands what's wrong, my babies are gone. but we can't explain to them what happened or talk to them about it in a way they'll understand to try and help them get through it.

I literally did that when I was 5 and now we're bf and gf. (We're 16)
Man, if I were to marry everyone who proposed to me when I was younger, I'd have 3 husbands. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened 3 times.
Load More Replies...Lol , my youngest had a "boyfriend" in pre-k . They even had a little wedding for them at recess . Omg it was so funny. His mom and I would take pics and be like "can you imagine this being on their wedding invitation some day" . Sadly we moved away. Not that they would've really gotten married , they were just two peas in a pod . They're 19 now and still good internet friends.
My grandson was in the NICU for three months . Having a baby in the NICU is really hard sometimes. The babies are often not able to wear the clothes you bought them . Coming in and seeing these precious hats , blankets , and booties was really special . I kept every item that was donated for him. People know that they're helping when they donate things , but they don't know how treasured and important those items can become to somebody.
I was knitting on the late shift at the uni reception desk on Saturday night!! BUT (a) I'm not a very good knitter so I'm very slowly knitting blankets for the RSPCA (the dogs won't notice my dropped stitches) and (b) I'm female and not at all tough looking so less surprising.
I worked with a paramedic in Wisconsin who didthe same thing when on a 24 hour shift. He knitted neonatal hats! For Easter, he attached bunny ears...ever see a roomful of new-borns with bunny ear hats? Too cute for words!!
I remember him well. The bond between the two of them was lovely to watch, so, yeah, the last bit's a killer. He has his own foundation now to carry on the work and education around parrots: https://alexfoundation.org/
A lot of these posts are making me feel compelled to just go around and start hugging. I gotta go find my cat and give him a snuggle. I need to hug my husband and kiss my kiddo.
African Greys are incredible mimics. Back when landline telephones were still very common, a woman had an African Grey as a pet. She kept hearing the phone ring, but when she picked up the handset she only heard a dial tone. Turned out that her parrot was able to precisely mimic the sound of a ringing telephone.
Thats so saddddd. WWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the hospital one time with pneumonia. I came home to a spotless house because my neighbor and her daughters.

I recently realized in one of my therapy sessions that when I was a kid, because I was considered "needy" and "clinging," every time I asked my mom for a hug, she either refused, or gave it with exasperation. You gave that child something so many desperately need and never get. You made a difference, and, if he feels loved, so will the adult that kid grows up to be.
I'm totally with OP on this. Girl in my class is going through a lot right now. She doesn't want to talk about it yet, but today she came for a nature walk with me, when we got back to class I told her we all wanted to hug her. Me and her best friend sandwich hugged her, 6 other kids ran over to join in. Just to remind her, she is safe and loved in class. Might not solve the problem, but for a few hours after, she relaxed just enough to be a kid. Most of my kids get hugs - I try and encourage them to offer to each other when word fail. Few days ago I overheard one ASD boy tell another ASD boy - if you need a hug, I'm here. Neither like hugs, but the offer ment a lot.
True. I'm 35 and still have all of mine. I would have so much more room in my closet if I got rid of them, but it's more worth it to keep them.

I'm not liking this all so much. You do NOT feed other peoples' pets! Not dogs and not cats. On that note: what kind of owner just lets his dog go with a "well, he obv. wants to be with you so you can keep him" and why the heck did the dog run away that much??

Okay, that one finally broke me. That's the kind of quality parenting you'll, ironically, never learn from books.
i pretended to be scared of the dark for years so i could have a nightlight plugged into my wall, & i used to read by the light of it far past my bedtime.

So, five bucks worth of balls later, no joy, and the guy just handed it over with a big grin. "I think it's found a good home, enjoy!" My kid just lit up and I had to carry a giant stuffed bottle of beer around town, but it was worth it, lol!
