Only People With Rare Body Features Joined This Thread And Shared 35 Of Their Body Anomalies
We all have our little quirks... some are more astounding than others. While most humans tend to have commonly shared features like 12 pairs of ribs, or eyes that are typically brown, green, or blue, sometimes features diverge a bit more uniquely. Much like all species on this planet, it is not impossible to encounter variations that simply blow our minds.
In a recent Reddit post that discussed weird body features, Redditors shared some of their most striking peculiarities. As each commenter shared their individual—oftentimes confounding—anomalies, a shared community began to build and others helped to offer a bit of insight on the possible 'why' and 'how' their quirks may exist. Some (possible) explanations were given, while some still remained a mystery.

Insane hearing. I can tell when a car starts a block down the road. When the army base is doing artillary drills 30 miles away. When there's a mouse running through the kitchen. When a squirrel is running through the driveway and crunching leaves.
It makes sleeping a bit difficult. But going to a casino is like a freaking acid trip.
I don't think mine is as acute as this but I can hear the sound of bubbles popping in a can of soda from across the room - while the TV is on. I'm constantly playing a game of "what's making that noise?' and most of the time people think I'm nuts cause they don't hear anything. I can be so distracting. At one point I was convinced it was auditory hallucinations and I was worried I might be losing my mind but I guess it's just really good hearing. Great for eavesdropping, not great for getting to sleep without earplugs!
Load More Replies...I’m autistic, and the mere thought of such elevated hearing already makes me anxious. It might be pretty interesting in some circumstances, though!
For my son, who has ASD, the sound of metal on metal (like a fork in a pot, or sharpening a knife) is like nails on a chalkboard.
Load More Replies...I once heard a caterpillar chomping on some leaves and I swear I felt like a super hero. lol
My mum didn't believe me that I heard our pet hermit crab make clicking/chirping noises. She thought I was full of it (I mean I was a kid with ADHD and a super over-active imagination). Well, as a full-grown adult I can wholeheartedly say that I was indeed correct: https://www.hermitcrabanswers.com/what-does-hermit-crab-chirping-mean/
Load More Replies...Please please guard and protect those amazing ears! You will never regret it.
Omg same! I have the loudest family (5 siblings, 2 dogs, 2 cats), and it's pretty good for the most part... but I hear EVERYTHING
Load More Replies...I have slightly elevated hearing, but no where near this good! You’re like a superhero!
Because of a blood disorder I have extremely acidic tears.
My face swells, burns, and I get hives or an allergic reaction.
A couple tears is annoying. Serious crying will eat away at my contacts, I’ll have to use cold compresses, and take antihistamines
Wow! My sister can shoot her tears up to around 8 feet. If this was combined with her power, it could be super awesome
If you make me cry, you'll regret it.
Load More Replies...I have the same problem. My ophthalmologist thinks it's connected to a chronic medical condition I developed about three years ago. I've always cried at the drop of a hat, and now I dread it. I have to immediately rinse my eyes or it's agony.
How does that work? Aren't one's eyes lubricated by tears all the time?
This can happen when your bodily fluids contains too much acid, known as acidosis. It is usually due to an underlying medical conditions.

I have two different ears. One is wide enough for ear buds, the other isn't. My twin brother has the mismatch on the opposite side.
My Daughter has one pixie ear and one normal round one, my Mother has pixie ears i.e. the top shape of her ears are slightly pointy ( they look amazing I was gutted growing up as I wanted Fairy ears ) :)
isn't everyones ears different though?? They're never really the exact same in every way
I know my kids both have one ear hole bigger than the other.
Load More Replies...Same... left rar developed normally, right side didn't grow since I was 8 ish
Ever since my brain surgery to remove a tumor I can't feel any temperature
Oh wow. That can be dangerous. What about surface temperatures? Like a hot pan; can you feel that?
Yeah I wonder if they can't feel temp but they can feel pain from a burn or severe cold? Very interesting and also sad.
Load More Replies...What unfathomable challenges that must add to everyday life. My heartfelt sympathies go out to OP.
My mother's tumor left her without a sense of *smell*. It's crazy-sad, b/c she loved flowers and such. Now... :-(
My grandma couldn't smell and there are more challenges in every day life than people think. Especially dangerous with food and also if there was any gas installation around.
Load More Replies...Adds unfathomable challenges to lose everyday life. My heartfelt sympathies.
My body temp runs 2 degrees lower than normal. So 99 is a fever for me; but doctors don't consider it a fever until you're about 100.5 or so. I ran 102.5 fever for 12 days (despite ibuprofen and acetaminophen) and the doctor refused to do anything.
I am brutal cold all year round. On one hand I can handle hot pots on the other end it makes actually having an actual fever near impossible because a “normal” temp IS a fever for me. Same with my blood pressure. When it registers at anything 110/80 it high for me (which makes going to the doctor difficult).
I have a body mole in my eye, like inside of it and near the pupil
My aunt has a mole within her iris in addition to having heterochromia, so it looks like her eyes are 3 colours. Yours is so neat looking though!
I do too and there’s a tiny vain running through it that’s visible. I also have a friend with the an eye mole.
I have Aquagenic urticaria (water allergy)
Sorry… but does anyone else notice they’re not actually washing their hands in this picture?
Our bodies are made up of like 75% water sooooooo how does that work? Lol
As of yet, because there are currently only around 100 known cases, it isn't known. It's theorised that it could be something that is broken down in the water that effects the person. (which is hard to determine, since worldwide, water may contain different things) or that it is something on the skin that reacts to the water, producing the rash/hives.
Load More Replies...They use a straw according to another comment. I guess it only effects their outside, considering how much of our innards are water.
Load More Replies...I have it too and I used to be a competitive swimmer and I got diagnosed with it when I was 12 and I wouldn’t accept it so I would sneak out at night and try to swim and I also have P.O.T.S ( a.k.a a fainting disorder) so I passed out while trying to get in the water and started to drown. Luckily I have a life alert thing that I can press in case of emergency’s, so I did and it just so happens that while it alerts everyone it makes this loud noise, and the life guard was there trying to do something idk but he was able to save me and when I woke up in the hospital my skin was on FIRE
@Alexi I’m really curious, how does that work with drinking water?
Load More Replies...It's not the water it is what is in the water. Have a friend like this and they have to purify it. Yeah, your body is made up mostly of water so this post is very deceiving.
I have alopecia but it doesn’t affect my head at all, have a full head of hair at almost 50…but my legs are bald as a baby’s a*s and I’m a dude.
not all of us. some of us are trying to break the beauty standard of hairless legs etc.
Load More Replies...I have what my mom calls "alopecic tendencies". I get random bald spots on my head, but they're no bigger than a fingertip. I have really kinky, thick hair so you can't see them unless you are braiding it. However, my bald spots started migrating downward. A few months ago, my entire left eyebrow fell off. it's grown back except for a small chunk that looks like a shaved a slit in my brow, so I don't mind it. However, the hard part was when a large chunk of my eyelashes fell out. I have beautifully long, thick lashes, so that was a blow to my vanity. If any of you have a better term for this condition, let me know : )
This happens when people take meds for the heart. My dad has also lost most of his leg hair, while his hairline is still intact, his hair thinner
I have that too!! I had psoriasis a while back AND also alopecia...but luckily, thankfully, just only a small patch of my hair was lost at the back of my head at the hairline.
I have Arnold's cough reflex. Anytime I stick a q tip in my left ear it triggers my gag reflex. Supposedly it only affects 2% of people
Edit: maybe I shouldn't have used the term gag reflex as I've never thrown up from it. Rather a very aggressive cough like I'm trying to hack something up uncontrollably. Sorry for any confusion. My fiance always thinks it sounds like I'm throwing up that's why I went straight to gag reflex.
I have that too and I didn't know it was an actual condition!
Load More Replies...I've always heard it as "nothing smaller than your elbow."
Load More Replies...Yea, when I get Q-tipped I always cough aggressively but I thought it was normal.
Woah, I thought this was just normal for everyone, gee I feel special
My eyes are symmetrical to the thousandth of an inch. My optometrist said it was rare. Everyone varies a little bit.
While it’s tough to get perfect head rotation towards the camera, I hope being off a pixel or two is good enough.
Yep, this is unusual. Perfect symmetry is only in textbooks as a rule!
Aren't symmetrical faces considered the most pleasing to the eye? You're beautiful!
If you really look, most people have one eye lower on their face than the other.
I have visual snow, it sucks. Basically I see a bunch of dots all time.
Floaties? I see them often, like bacterias and other semi-trasparent debris.
Load More Replies...I thought that was normal 😱 When I was a kid I used to wander why I couldn't just faze through things if everything was just made up of these tiny little dots. 🙈
Look up Blue Field Entoptic phenomena , it’s nothing to worry as it’s your white blood cells moving through the veins at the back of your eye and making the “ light Receptors “ react
They are called floaters. I've had them since I was very young. On bright days, especially in winter when snow covers the ground, I can't go outside without sunglasses; as they ALL become visible at the same time. They can be a sign of retinal detachment. If you notice a sudden increase, you should see a doctor.
I have/had them, too. But had them removed from one eye, which was the really bad one. It is a complicated surgery, but if done well, with a perfect result. Absolutely worth the time and pain. The procedure is called vitrectomy

I have a bifurcated uvula. That teardrop thing in the back of your throat? Mine is shaped like a butt.
Don't blame it on your little you. We all know YOU are one laughing! ✌️
Load More Replies...At first glance, I read "I have a butt-shaped vulva. And now my mind's eye can't unsee it.
I have a friend with a fully-bifurcated uvula (two separate dangly bits). We used it as a fundraiser for our guild at the Renaissance Faire one year: 25 cents to see it. IIRC, we raised about $30 over the weekend - might have been a little less; it was a long time ago and my memory is old and grey. Anyway there were a lot of disappointed guys who apparently didn't know what a uvula (an uvula?) is.
My cousin has one too! His looks like balls tho lmao I guess his bifurcation is more prominent lol
Don't tell anyone about his prominent bifurcation, people might worry
Load More Replies...Why censor "butt" and not "balls"? Just wondering.
Load More Replies...I have no uvula. It was removed when I had my tonsils out 55 years ago. I guess it ws infected as well as my tonsils.
My sternum is concaved, so there's essentially a divet right between my breasts (I'm a guy)
EDIT: sure have learned quite a bit from this thread. I get asked my name a lot, it is Ian from Nebraska.
Apparently it's has an actual medical term (Pectus Excavatum) which is most definitely not a spell out of Harry Potter and way more common than I realized. It even has it's own subreddit (r/pectusexcavatum)
There's an opposite condition where the chest convexes outwards (Pectus Carinatum). If the 2 hug, they fuse into one superbeing.
There are surgeries to repair them but hurt like hell and have a long recovery time. Only recommended if it is a problem in your daily life.
Common uses include cereal bowl (not that I have done it), cell phone holder, candy dish, cuddle spot.
I have severe Pectus Excavatum (girl) and am looking to get a surgery for it soon - it affects my lungs and breathing so I feel for you guys!
Load More Replies...My goodness my chest wall is uneven. Left side grew normal but right side didn't. It's super weird and I hate it. I know from being here a while I'm not going to be judged 🥰 you all are amazing! 34 now, more comfortable in my own body but still SUPER weird lol don't know name of it
I have it too. But I’m designing a surgery that is less invasive, painful, uncomfortable, or risky. I hope it works.
Woah really?! That’s amazing! Even less than the Nuss procedure?
Load More Replies...I had the carinatum type. Operated when I was 18 to correct it, because as a teenager I was so embarassed of that to the point that I would keep my t-shirt on at the beach. Now I'm 36 and have a big scar in my chest. Sometimes it itches and sometimes it kinda hurts when I spend too much time with a bad posture. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have done the surgery, because today I guess I would eventually stop caring about what other people think.
I may be peculiar but I think scars are respectable
Load More Replies...My brother had this. His was actually so severe that the tool they used to measure how close the middle of his rib cage was to his spine came back with infinity (his rib cage was apparently touching his spine). He just went through surgery a few months ago and I’m happy to say that hems recovering quite well!
My ex had the one that pushes out (Pectus Carinatum). His doctor warned against being hit there if he could help it. It could cave in and go through his chest cavity
I can move my eyelashes left to right!
I have a cousin who can vibrate his eyes so it links like there are two pupils in each eye.
My grandfather could wiggle his ears. I spent a good portion of my childhood trying to figure out how to do it too. :)
I can vibrate my eyeballs and it freaks people out when I do it.
Two uteruses and two cervixes (AKA: Uterus Didelphys)
So you can get pregnant in both at the same time ... scarey stuff :o
My mother was born with two uteruses. She carried my older brother in one uterus, and two years later carried me in the other uterus. She also has exactly half a thyroid, an extra bone in her foot, and one kidney. It’s how she was born. Crazy lol
Does that mean 2 separate periods? Get pregnant with 2 separate babies at the same time that are not twins?
it has happened. Though usually the two uteruses are smaller than a normal one so often the pregnancy miscarries.
Load More Replies...No, it is the result of a failed fusion between the tubes that makes the uterus during development. Many mammals have two uteri.
Load More Replies...For those who suffer this, May God bless, and please be careful with your health.
At some point I gotta sneeze when I‘m very hungry….
It’s your vagus nerve!! Give it a Google, it’s fascinating :) I sneeze when I’m hungry or about to vomit
OMG - thanks! This has been driving me crazy - thought there was something seriously wrong with me. Only recently, like in the last year, most mornings before I've eaten and I'm a bit hungry I start feeling really nauseas - then I sneeze and the nausea goes away.
Load More Replies...I sneeze when I pee a lot, but I think I conditioned myself to do this... A few years ago I had a nasty cold for about a month, followed by a chest infection and then the flu, I was ill for about 3 months with a crazy runny nose the entire time so I started blowing my nose like crazy every time I went to the bathroom. Now no matter what I always end up having to blow my nose whenever I use the toilet and sneeze like crazy if I don't do it straight away! (I basically conditioned myself to sneeze and have a runny nose whenever I use the toilet!)
I wonder if this is somehow related to my husband's reaction? He sneezes when he has to poop.
Load More Replies...When I’m tired and need to sleep, like if it’s late, the tip of my nose gets really itchy like I rub it and rub it to make it stop but it doesn’t work, one time it cause a bloody nose bc i don’t want to go to sleep but I didn’t want my nose to itch
My knees makes a lot of noises when I'm crouching down.
My doctor tells me it's normal, but my girlfriend thinks I'm breaking a bone everytime.
Me too actually. And anytime it doesn't make noise it's like it didn't click right and really hurts
Same thing happens to me. I learned that this can happen to people with hypermobility, which sure enough I have most of the symptoms.
Aaaah, the joys of crepitus! That's the medical term for the crackly poppy noises joints make when moving. When I start walking down stairs in the morning, my dog will start running to me from wherever he is because I sound like a walking treat bag
i cannot imagine that is normal at all. i was told the same thing for years and was eventually diagnosed with degenerative bone disease. no soft tissue between any of my bones now which is incredibly painful. finally had my right knee replaced in may and am one week out from getting the left one replaced. recovery is insane but so worth the diminished pain.
I have to wear socks at all times, otherwise my feet start sweating, which makes my hands sweat for some reason. Having sweaty feet is annoying, but sweaty hands are the worst.
I have a friend who has severely sweaty hands and has to take treatment for it
Sounds like hyperhydrosis. I had a girlfriend with that. She can make her hands sweat by thinking about it.
Load More Replies...I heard that rubbing deodorant on your hands will help to tone down the sweating
And gorgeous - I love the way the colors pooled. Socks were one of my favorite things to knit, but alas carpal tunnel has put my knitting days behind me I'm afraid.

I have massive calf muscles. It looks like every day is leg day despite not doing weight lifting.
My dad had the same.
Yup my family too. My sister theorizes that our ancestors were peasants laboring in the fields. We’re all short and stocky with freakin huge cafes. I always imagined us as dwarves living under the mountain.
I have the same thing. I am a petite woman with an athletic build who enjoys working out and playing sports. Having massive calves is a huge advantage in sports like riding, rowing, bike riding, and kayaking. However, sometimes I feel like the incredible hulk when it comes to buying trousers. I remember when skinny jeans were all the rage and one of the employees at a clothing store was helping me find jeans in my size. They gave me a small because I'm petite. I couldn't even get the damn pair of jeans past my massive calf.
Also mine! Which is why he can rock a kilt (can recommend)
Load More Replies...A woman at my uni had that- I felt horrified that grown adult classmates made fun of her because of it!
Mine are the same, taken after my dad too. I've always been paranoid about halving such big calves, but some guys have praised them as they're bigger than theirs.
One of my ribs is not connected to my spine
I have no cartilage in my ears. Flaps like dumbo.
Does your ear look much different than the average? Must be nice when getting your ears pierced lol
Ha i have so much cartilage, the thing inside the outer ring of ear is huge for me, it sticks out so far
I knew a girl when I was a teenager that didn’t have any cartilage in her nose. Initially I didn’t believe her so she said ‘press my nose’….. Sure enough, her nose flattened against my finger tip!!
My belly button is significantly off center.
This happens to somebellydancers because of the focus in one direction movement.
Your belly button is where the umbilical cord was attached to your body in the womb. A doctor cannot move it no matter how they cut the cord.

I can flex a muscle somewhere in my head and it will produce a buzzing/rumbling sound in my ears. I've told this to people in my social circle but no one can do it.
Me too. I thought everyone could do it? It feels like a muscle right inside of my ear, but not part of the ear maybe? I can only hold it for like 3 or 4 seconds at a time and still hear the noise. For people this doesn't happen too, the noise is just like being on a plane that just landed and is slowing down, but a bit quieter.
I thought this happened to everyone? Even happens when I close my eyes.
Load More Replies...That is your tensor tympani muscle! It is located in the middle of your ear and is in charge of dampening loud sounds or sounds from within your body. Apparently it’s very rare to be able to control this muscle. I didn’t think I could control it but recently discovered I can if I close and scrunch my eyes. Pretty neat.
That makes sense. I always do it when I know something is going to be really loud straight off the bat, like fireworks or something like that. It helps it not hurt and not make me jump as much if I do it beforehand. Also, if I do it where there's really loud music playing, I can hear the "true" sound of the music...if that makes sense.
Load More Replies...Yoooo me tooo I can even stretch and it sounds like a frickin earth quake
It can't be that rare since everyone who has commented (including me!) can do it. I can do it voluntarily, plus it happens when I yawn. (In fact, if I do it on purpose several times in a row, it triggers a big yawn!)
Tensor tympani muscle. Some people have it under voluntary control (I do) and can flex it to pop their ears without having to yawn. Flexing makes crackling, popping noises or a dull kind of hushes roar.
That's me! I also flex it to get water out of my ears.
Load More Replies...I can do this, too! I’m really happy to learn that others can as well. I’ve never even tried to describe it to anyone else because it sounds so strange! “I can do something inside my head that makes a noise in my ear but I can’t really describe the noise.” I’m so glad to know I’m in a group! I shall call us The Mighty Ear Flexers 🙂
My fingers can bend backwards & i have a weak muscle in my eye which is when I create suction in my mouth my eyelid goes up fsr
EDIT: Eye thing is called Marcus Gunn phenomenon :)
DOUBLE EDIT: I don't have hyper mobility or anything like that, I'm just built different so my fingees go backwards in a u shape
TRIPLE EDIT: ok i do not have EDS or whatever i just have bendy fingers damn
Trust me, it is! I can bend my pinky finger all the way back so that the whole finger touches the top of my palm. I couldn't count the people I've pranked with it...
Load More Replies...Yeah. I have hypermobility EDS (relatively mild by my standards) and what was a cool party trick as a college kid is now a debilitating issue as a mom of two. My joints slip and slide everywhere. Not fun anymore. But it is a weird thing and fun thing when it isn't painful. My legs bend funny. My thumb looks alien. My kids think I'm the coolest and weirdest human ever lol
Hi OP. If your fingers bend back in a u shape then you have hypermobility. It comes in stages so some people have just hands, others have 2-3 joints, some are full blown contortionist. I can also bend my fingers like this but can also hyper extend my shoulder and my knee caps float.
Oh, I also have clinodactyly in my pinky fingers and middle toes.
Load More Replies...Did you miss the bit about these being copied from Reddit? You're not replying to the poster.
Load More Replies...I can bend my fingers back so far they touch my arm. Freaks everyone out😆😆😆
Omg finally someone who has fingers like mine! I can do it with my toes too. People's reaction is always funny to see
my brother can do this {he cant now since he hurt his wrists bad } he used to go up to people and "shake there hands" with all his fingers backward
it might be hypermobility syndrome, I have it. I'm weirdly bendy!
Um actually you do have EDS. If you search the criteria you’ll see . . .
I have 4 nipples
Oooh... I think you're right. Yet I'm not a doctor either!
Load More Replies...I'm pretty sure it's genetic* too. My friends son has 3, as does his dad and great grandma (dads grandma); noone else has confirmed yet cuz they find it embarrassing. I think it's pretty cool (*edit for typo)
Sorry if this seems mean and picky, but it’s genetical, not generic. Generic means general not inherited through genes
Load More Replies...That's so Interesting!! If this isn't a polite question, just tell me lol, but can I ask where they are on him? Like are they all in a straight line? Or scattered? Sorry, just so interesting!
Load More Replies...I have a theory on this. My brother has 3 nipples, and he was a twin, although the other was miscarried. I had a work friend many years ago, whose second child was also a "parasitic twin" with an extra nipple. She believed that all parasitic twins left their mark on the remaining, surviving twin. Would be interesting to find out if OP and the other commenters here were the same.
Really, really high bone density. X-ray images look like cartoon skeletons. No one can tell me exact what’s going on.
I have grey eyes. No color. Like a black and white eye.
I also have, if I understood the cardiologist correctly, 20 pacemaker nodes? Which … could be good? Or bad? The doctor didn’t offer an opinion one way or the other.
Edit: this is popular. To FAQ here:
Eye color from a little while ago: https://imgur.com/a/T1XvSM0
Grey to Grey-green to blue. To me, in the mirror in my bathroom, they just look grey. But that could be just the way I see them. AFAIK I’m not colorblind. (I pass the tests).
Swimming: I can swim. I cannot float - not even when I hold my breath.
I don’t have any x-ray pics - and hopefully I won’t have the occasion to get any anytime soon. But in the off chance that I do, I’ll post it.
The Game is going to flag me for talking about my bones - and I’m going to break everything, all at once.
Update 2: a few of y’all have mentioned Wolff-Parkinson-White and after reading up on it a little, given that I had some premature ventricular contractions in my late teens, (much older now) and my heart rate has always been a little higher than average, regardless of how fit I was - it never seemed to go up or down much - I’m going to go get checked out. Better safe than sorry.
Wow! The no floating part must be really hard! But since you have high bone density does that mean they don’t break as easily?
I've always wondered if I had high bone density. I too have a hard time floating. And as many times as I probably should have, I have never broken a bone. I also do not look as heavy as I am. Especially when standing next to someone of the same height & weight. People are always shocked when I tell them how much I actually weigh. But I'm not sure if that is also related to high bone density.
It must be. I also weigh much more than l look. I was also told by a doctor l had really dense bones (he called them heavy, actually)
Load More Replies...My husband didn't get diagnosed with WPW until his thirties. Quick ablation surgery all good. Even though how they do it is craziness.
I have WPW that was diagnosed when I was a kid. I've never had the surgery because I don't have symptoms. And yes, the procedure sounds crazy as hell - I have no desire to try it. :)
Load More Replies...My wife has these eyes. I call them "mood eyes." They go from blue to grey when she's in the mood.
I also have green to gray, gray to green eyes. I like it when they're gray.
So your eyes are gray or have no color... Mine are gray and they are sometimes changing color to blue or green.
Mine are grey also & my daughter's, I think I read something that the reason they change is to do with the current given ambient light at any given time.
Load More Replies...Are you my husband?! He doesn't float either, definitely hates swimming (especially since I'm all about water), and has very light grey eyes, they become white in the light so he wears a lot of sunglasses.
I can't float. Bf tried to tell me it's a learned skill. XD Also, I wish I had gray eyes. Mine were ice-blue when I was a little kid and now they're a gray-green-blue hot mess XD
I developed arthritis at 16 years old, also I have a massive a*s for a dude. Double cheeked up.
I developed arthritis as a teen too. Unfortunately, I did not get a massive butt too. I'm a woman and have a bony flat a*s, lol. I'll take some of this guy's please.
My ears are asymmetrical, and I didn’t realize it until my late teens, after which it caused me great angst.
My husband has a similar thing. One ear has extra cartilage and sticks out and the other is smaller and flatter. I like to push on the one with extra cartilage to make it go "pop pop" lol
I have extra in one ear, causing it to be thicker than my other one. The thicker one curves back, making the center curve stick out further than the upper section. It also has a tendency to hurt if I sleep on it weird.
Load More Replies...My breasts are two different shapes and sizes... it makes you feel like something is wrong with you 😔
Mine look very dissimilar. I think one of them didn't develop right or something? One has an extra bit of cartilage at the tip that makes it look like an elf ear, but the other doesn't.
I just noticed that one of my ears is higher than the other, and I'm a senior. Now I wonder if they were always like that, or if one of them floated up.
I have ultra low heart rate. It was in the 50s anyway, but with some endurance training its in the 30s now.
Ive been multiple tested by cardios, 24h holter, all good no pauses or irregularities im good to go. When im in good shape im at 35-36bpm while awake, and down to 30 during sleep.
Maybe if i get in a good shape again, i ll ask for a new holter to see if i break 30bpm during sleep and touch 29 or so.
Some More info: I don't take any meds that affect my HR. I have a very mild Hypertension that is controlled with (ARBs). Not beta blockers. This is the only med i'm taking. This hasn't affected my HR in any way. My HR was already ultra low before starting the meds. In fact now in the summer, I'm completely stopped the meds because BP drops naturally. I don't have any other health condition (appart from orthopedic injuries). I'm 41m and as far as i can remember my HR is as described. I am mainly a runner but i also swim as secondary or recovery. I do some strength training now and then. I'm not super good runner, just a 40:00 at 10k, but with very little training and i'm always battling with orthopedic injuries. My max HR is around 175, i always use a HR strap when running (it measures electric signals), i dont trust the wrist optical HR monitors, they are not very accurate. Needless to say i have never ever taken any other substance-drugs-steroids-hormones etc.
Meanwhile my heart rate goes up to 140 when I stand up lol I’m willing to bet it’s some condition but no one in my family cares about it so we’re just gonna roll with it because I’m a minor *jazz hands*
Same! I have a resting heart rate in the 100's, even when I was in great physical condition. Weirdly, my blood pressure is actually way lower than normal, too.
Load More Replies...This reminds me somewhat of my late childhood: I was in such good shape you couldn’t get my heart rate above 100 and, if I relaxed and focused on lowering my pulse, it could easily dip below 50.
How do you lowers your pulse?? I struggle with my heart rate. It’s always super high like 140’s.
Load More Replies...I am like this, when I was younger and in shape, I could set of the low limit on our pulse oximeters we were developing, which defaluted to 45 bmp. Now older and out of shape, I am closer to normal. My core temp is lower than "standard" as well, always has been. If I am over 97.0, I have a "fever"
Yeah, I had 42 bpm when I was younger. Even my heart would think "this is slow…" and would enter an extra beat sometime. BOING! The heart has circles of electrics around it and they are all back up systems, as you go down. So when you beat too slow the first back up system puts in a BOING! The very lowest and last one beats only a few times per minute and keeps the brain alive. Like when you're in the water or something. Is what a heart specialist told me but this was 30 years ago so knowledge has probably changed. I'm now post-viral diseased and have 60 - 80 resting bpm and a too low BP :(
I wonder how it effects the lungs and the brain (due to oxygen supply)
my heart is about 45BMP while under anesthesia, i have to let my doctors know prior to surgery because as long as that drug is in my body the machines will scream as if I am crashing
I feel ya same here. Very low HR. Not quite as low my daily ist 40 and sleep 34. When I run I reach 170.
I’m 6’6”, but I have a 7-foot arm span.
As another short person, I have trouble with stuff on the top shelf at the grocery store. Always have to wait for a tall shopper to help. When I was younger I would climb on the lower shelf to get what I wanted but not anymore (I'm 75).
Load More Replies...You are 'ape positive' (as am I - 5' 11" to 6' 2") - my father and one of my daughters are the same, my mother, brother, son and other daughter are normal, or 'ape negative' (i.e. their span is the same as their height).
I have grey eyes and a fused tooth
Tooth fusion is what happens when two separate tooth buds grow together and form into one tooth that is literally fused together. Fused teeth may have two separate tooth buds, and even their own pulp chambers and canals, but upon extraction or falling out, they will still be fused together as one solid tooth.
Load More Replies...I guess if they're truly purely gray. For example, my eyes have gray in them, but they're kind of a gray-green-blue hot mess with flecks of yellow here and there (and were light blue when I was a kid). So, I imagine there are many people with gray-ish eye colors, like gray-blue, gray-green etc., but perhaps true gray, like a true silverish gray without any other colors, is unusual.
Load More Replies...My eyes are split sideways between gray and brown. It’s pretty interesting.
I have grey eyes too. Is that a side affect of some medical problem?
The eye above also shows central heterochromia....or basically, a different color in the center of the eye. :-)
All my hair on my body is brown except in my armpits, it's blonde.
My father had dark blonde hair but when he grew a beard it came in red. My aunt said we have some redheaded ancestors.
My Dad has balck hair everywhere, but his beard was also flaming red. His moustache was a mix of black, red and white even at a young age. I've seen the moustache before he shaved it off but the beard he only had when I was only a thought yet. Mom said it looked horrendous so she made him get rid of it.
Load More Replies...When i was born i had a full head of jet black hair 3 inches long. By the time i was 5 it had lightened to light brown with blonde streaks, but then darkened back to a very dark brown by the time i was 18....my beard however is black and red.
I was born with black hair, which lightened to white blond after a few months. Then it gradually became darker blonde until I was 'dirty-blonde' or maybe light brown, though I'm not certain what it is naturally now because I have dyed it so often. My all my sibling had blonde hair when they were born. The boys slowly became darker until it was light brown, but my sister's stayed white blonde until she was late teens when it became more of a honey blonde, which I find so fascinating. My mum's hair is basically the same as my sister's and my dad's is like my brothers.
Load More Replies...Body hair and head hair generally don't match in people with multifactorial hair or eye color. Most blondes have slightly darker body/public/axilla hair than what's on their heads and it occasionally profiles as red or auburn. For many brunettes, if you have a light eye or hair gene, your facial har (men) might be red. This is not at all unusual. I'm blonde and have blonde arm and leg hair; light brown armpits, and red down there.
I'm a calico also. My hair on my head doesn't match my beard and that doesn't match my chest hair. And none of it matches the carpet or armpits.
I had light blonde hair as a kid. Darkened as I got older. But my body hair is black; except for my face. Mustache hair is blonde, rest is brown (and grey).
this is quite normal? My head hair is brown, my beard is black (now that I'm older with a few whites), my chest, pubes, all torso hair is black, but armpits and legs is light brown, like dirty blonde. But I've definitely seen other guys (that I'm not related to) whose body or facial don't match the rest
I've got ten toes but 12 toenails.
I checked OP's post on Reddit and while I didn't see that they linked any photos, they did mention that the extra toenails are on their "pinky" toes, side by side, like a "passenger and driver" in a car.
Load More Replies...On one of my toes I have what seems to be two nails. One grow normally and then there's a slower growing one that tries its very best to grow over/cover the normal nail. Perhaps this is what OP is having, too?
You know your body best and I apologize as I'm not trying to tell you what to do but - have you ever had a podiatrist or dermatologist make sure the nail is okay? My mom has something very similar on one of her toes, and it's given her a lot of grief and issues over the years. She is kind of lax on some of her habits, and one time she got a fungal infection "in between" the nail separation line. She's STILL battling it, years later.
Load More Replies...I have a sideways toenail (it grows diagonally instead of straight.) but not extra toenails
I have that, but it's like two sides of a triangle across the nail bed and along the right hand side of my toe. It doesn't grow out straight along the other edge, it's like one half is normal and the other is a thick callous. It grows that way no matter how I cut it and I have even lost the nail once and it still grew the same after.
Load More Replies...My youngest was born without a toenail on the second toe of his left foot, and it has never grown in. He's 17 now.
Permanently split toe nails are usually the result of consistently wearing tight shoes as a child/infant. Nails will either split in half (usually the big or pinky toe), or another nail will grow on top of one that’s already there.
I’m basically allergic to heat (urticaria) I can kind of „dislocate“ my thumbs without touching them. Idk how to explain it any better Edit: It’s crazy how many of you can relate to the urticaria, I’ve never met someone who has it as well. If you asked me a question and I didn’t reply feel free to shoot me a dm, especially if you asked about medication or think you might have it too
Sometimes I get hives during the first hot week of spring/summer, but we don't actually know if it's heat or sun allergy. Fine the rest of the time, no other allergies.
Load More Replies...I get heat urticaria on the back of my legs and it sucks majorly when doing sports. It can feel either itchy or like little pin pricks. With the extreme heat waves we have been having it has not been fun.
I have chronic urticaria, heat, sweat, grass, the 'pressure' or friction from my clothes, even rain can set it off. Or just sometimes it starts for no reason. Fun.
I have pretty small hands compared to my body
A friend of mine too. It looks like a child’s hand. First time I noticed was when she put one of her hands close to her face. It seemed someone else’s. It was a bit creepy.
Same. I am not tall anyway, but my hands are smaller than 9-10 years old child. I once bought gloves which were for a 6 years old child and they fit me lol
I have an asymmetrical ribcage
Mentioned in earlier post but my rib cage is uneven. Left side grew normal but right side did not. It's so hard to explain. Hate it
Random question: is only the bone affected or does the muscles on that side also look different?
Load More Replies...I too have an asymmetrical ribcage due to scoliosis. It was really noticeable when I weighed less (100-125), and the left side would protrude when I lay flat on my back.
Scoliosis can do a lot of damage. My older brother ended up having to have rods inserted to correct it.

I can dislocate my thumb for ez and when I open my mouth my left eye lid goes up, because the nerve of the lid is connected to the nerve to my chin.
That´s why I wouldnt go for a dinner on the first date xD
I have a rare heart disease, it's called Wolff Parkinson white, and so when i am attached to a heart monitor my heart rate is different then everyone else - it beats weird
How random that this was mentioned twice here! I have WPW too. It's actually an extra signaling pathway between the heart's upper and lower chambers that can cause a fast heartbeat. It will show up on an EKG even if you are not experiencing tachycardia. I don't have symptoms so it doesn't bother me. You can have it fixed with surgery if necessary.
my kneecap is in 2 parts.
I don't think it'S their knees, there's a flickr link under the picture. So the just got a picture of "knees".´(reaaaally helpful...)
Load More Replies...I think this is called a patella bipartita and it is present in 1 or 2 % of the general population.
Ok, I have a question for the general readership and this seems as good a place as any. Anyone out there in BP land able to twist their foot and make their knee sorta pop out of joint? Mine will do this if I twist them out. In conjunction with my ankles and hips, that means I can turn my feet backwards, the left to the 8:00 and right to the 4:00 positions if 12:00 is dead ahead. Can anyone else do this "stupid human trick"?
I can, but it's not a good idea. Have being hypermobile all my life, I have finally been formally diagnosed with EDS (often suspected) at age 61.
Load More Replies...Um... does everyone not have this? I don't really go around looking at knees, but I know mine look like the pic
No, your kneecap is a singular bone in one piece. It’s a literal cap over your knee bones. It’s not normally supposed to be in two pieces 😅
Load More Replies...Ah yes, I have this. Scared the living daylights out of the er doctor when I had an x-ray for a dislocated knee.
I have occasionally actually seen the OPs from Reddit comment on the BP posts! So sometimes, Pandas' comments do reach the OP. :) And even if they don't, it's nice to see that our fellow Pandas are concerned for the health and wellbeing of their fellow human beings.
Load More Replies...Do you mean your kneecap floats? I thought everyone's did. Or something else?
Oh those scars look bad are you good? Your standing so you must be but ouch!!!
I have naturally huge trap and calf muscles. I didnt think much of them until college and then dudes started asking me for tips. Specifically my calves because well you can see them when I wear shorts. I just had to say genetics when asked.
I have a scar behind my eye. I wanted to contribute. It's weird.
I hear you! They do give you quite the advantage in some sports like horseback riding, cycling and rowing/competitive canoeing. It does make finding trousers an absolute nightmare though. I will never be able to fit into a pair of skinny jeans. I am quite active, which just leads to my things and calves getting even larger.
I have a rare intersex condition known as ambiguous genitalia: I was born with a penis, ovotestes (look like testicles but function as both testicles and ovaries), a vagina, and a uterus. The two systems can operate separately with conscious effort, though by default they work in tandem. Unlike most born with this condition, I was not forcibly reassigned female surgically at birth; they just grafted skin from my thigh over the vulva and left the systems otherwise untouched.
Wow...thats something you don't hear about everyday. Glad that you weren't forcibly assigned anything and can be who you are. Rock on with your bad self.

I have hazel eyes that can turn to blue-green. They can be grey, blue, or teal. Match what I am wearing. I have never heard of anyone else having that color of eyes. People think I'm wearing colored contacts and want to know where I got them. The blue can be regular blue or a brilliant light blue if I get angry.

I can do the nostril flare too, quite quickly, which worries people 😈
Load More Replies...I have heterochromia. My left eye is dark, kind of muddy green, and my right eye is hazel/green. It stands out more in sunlight but my right eye usually appears to be much darker.
I yawn constantly when I'm nervous. It's uncontrollable. At some points I'm not even breathing in or out it's just the yawning motion with my jaw.
Me too. And I have a kiddo who yawns when they sing, and I always yawn when reciting the pledge of allegiance (not on purpose I should add; it’s a reflex).
