Embracing yourself and coming to terms with your appearance can take years. But some people are born with genes that make them stand out even more than us regular folks. Because of this, getting through the day can be a lot harder. That's why it's so awesome to see those who aren't hiding and are confident in their skin.
So we at Bored Panda decided to expand on our earlier publications (this one and this one) and compile a new list of pictures posted by folks with unusual and rare body features. Like pear-shaped pupils. Or abnormally long arms. Despite the challenges these people face, they choose to live their lives with a positive attitude. And that's something to be celebrated.

I have that. When I joined the army they went nuts trying to make my hair look "normal". After boot camp I could wear my hair a bit longer and it solved the problem. I also have them in my beard on my neck. When I shave I have to shave in all directions.

I am Chinese and we have a belief that if you have more then one cow lick then you are super smart. If that is true or not I don't know but it is interesting that there is that belief in my tradition. Or at least my family.
That is interesting. The two out of 3 of my kids that have it are both neurodiverse and are actually quite clever.

😵 I have something like these right at the front of my head, two whorls and they both rotate out from the centre. My face shape looks a thousand times better with a fringe/bangs but I gave up because hairdressers constantly cut it too short, which meant I had to straighten it with a straightening iron to get it to sit flat, which mean burning my head a whole bunch because I had to get it right back to the roots or else it still sat weird.
I have that, but things have settled down some since then, and I don't often comb my hair anyhow. My mom used to glue my hair down with Odell's Hair Trainer for church and pictures, but as soon as it dried I'd start cracking it free again. Useful to have an occupation during sermons when you are nine. Started getting by head buzzed at ten or so when my mom finally relented.
My nephew was born with a mohawk. Sparse hair except for a stripe from forehead to the nape of his neck. It lasted a couple years, but is gone now.
If they'd be at the same location, it would only be one cowlick, wouldn't it.
It says directions, not locations. Could still have two going the same direction. Also have two going different directions nearly on top of each other and still be able to tell it's two different ones.

My physical weirdness is that I have hobbit feet. They're an EEE width. Also, one is an inch longer than the other. I often wish I lived before the industrial revolution so that I could easily get handmade shoes that fit.
OMG, I have every kind of large foot proportion; wide feet, high arches, long toes, and one foot longer than the other. I have bought shoe stretchers and made several types of my own. It takes several months (or up to a year) to gradually stretch a shoe to the size I need.

I was born with a condition called craniosynostosis (premature fusion of the skull in utero). The specific type I have is trigonocephaly (premature fusion of the metopic (forehead) suture resulting in a triangular shaped skull. This scar goes all the way across the top of my head from ear to ear. Other symptoms include short stature and other bone deformities (follow up picture of my hand - both pinkies and index fingers are bent). I also have a lot of eye, ear, nose, and throat issues. 35 years old and just had my 29th surgery in January. IMG_202209...a04ab3.jpg

I was born without cartilage in the first joint of my left thumb. The two bones are fused together with the end part of my thumb at about a 45 degree angle.

I was born with 2 extra ribs, bilateral cervical ribs. They can cause nerve issues and I just so happen to have nerve damage near them (unrelated) so they make that a little more annoying.
As someone with Vitiligo and seeing how many on here have it, I would like to see more people on TV with it exposed and not covered by make-up. We should be celebrating our differences and not be all trying to obtain 'perfection' which doesn't exist.

Also two of my brothers had a severe degenerative neuro-muscular disorder (similar to muscular dystrophy) that is so rare it has no name (our paediatrician called it Hudson's syndrome and only knew of one other person, a girl in the US who likely had the same condition). When they died we had tissue samples submitted for genetic testing, but the human genome project was still in infancy at the time and no more was really done. The rest of the family is only now (12 years after the youngest died) going to get genetic counselling done. After the eldest was born, my parents were told there was a 1 in 4 chance of other children having it. Just so happened that baby 1 and baby 5 were the only ones with it.
Not me but my brother. He was born without the thing underneath the tongue that keeps it down. Some of the things he did as a teenage were weird. He could swallow his tongue, put his tongue in his nasal cavity, put his tongue in his nostrils, he can lick above the tip of his nose and he can lick his elbow. So far, we know that he's the only one in the family with this.

If I had been born before modern times, I would have fit in a freak circus as a vampire. There are others in my family who have too many teeth, but extra baby teeth are more common. I also have other small things like central heterochromia and dark brown hair grows among my light hair. There are places on my skin that tan more easily. I may be a chimera and joke that I am the evil twin and ate my sister in the womb. (Two fertilized eggs fuse together in the womb).
You want fun? DNA proved the child was the husband's. Both he and his wife were blue-eyed, child had brown eyes. Their kid. Really odd shake-up in the DNA is all. The whole Bb Punnet Square, fun as it is in school, is, sadly, a myth. Granted it's like 1 in 100 or something similar. People get all freaky, but, no, the internet and your high school teacher were/are incorrect. It's rare, but not that rare. You can also have aberrant ABO blood types in the kids. Again, Punnet Squares are for demonstration, not reality.

Idk how common it is, but I have a very mild case of mentalis strain. My lips don't fully close, even in a completely rested position. I say mild mostly because I don't have jaw issues (other than some non-related joint/muscle tensions) and my jaw/chin are neatly defined and not overly "soft" (I have rather soft features, regardless)
The only odd thing I can do is I can put the soles of my feet together with my legs straight (knees not bent). Unfortunately, this makes me more prone to sprain my ankles.
Should I have been the mum of a child with any one of these human conditions, my biggest fear would have been the reactions of most adults. Children would point and ask questions,. Humanity can be so cruel. Be strong young parents, give strength and humanity and humility as life long skills to you children.

All the way from my fingers up to my elbows turn purple sometimes. I also have mild skeeter syndrome. I personally think the coolest one is my arms turning purple. I don’t know what it is, probably something to do with nerves. But it’s usually when I’m cold, anxious, or excited lol
My elbows also bend both directions which I actually thought was normal until someone pointed it out. When I reach to hug people they bend back and I had a friend who tried to copy it and a friend who tried to punch my elbows back into place

I used to have an extra tooth behind my front teeth, but it was removed. It's only now I realize how different that was! All of these people are beautiful and unique.

My dad's side of the family, including my sister and I have little bumps on our neck. In my leg, the bones that separate the ankle from the foot are fused together. I have a birthmark in my right eye. My mom has very small veins and my sister and I have veins that move. My mom and her sister have a gap between their two front teeth.
Seems that this God guy is prone to making a few variations from his plan. He maybe just trying stuff out to see what works or doesn't. I think he refers to it as evolution.

All the way from my fingers up to my elbows turn purple sometimes. I also have mild skeeter syndrome. White patches on my hands, shoulders, and legs, and this one isn’t as interesting but I had an extra bit on skin on my foot that we removed when I was little. I personally think the coolest one is my arms turning purple. I don’t know what it is, probably something to do with nerves. But it’s usually when I’m cold, anxious, or excited lol
My elbows also bend both directions which I actually thought was normal until someone pointed it out. When I reach to hug people they bend back and I had a friend who tried to copy it and a friend who tried to punch my elbows back into place

I guess I have some type of Heterochroma, as my eyes are yellow close to the pupil, and grey on the outer side. I would post a picture if it was possible here
My dad's side of the family, including my sister and I have little bumps on our neck. In my leg, the bones that separate the ankle from the foot are fused together. I have a birthmark in my right eye. My mom has very small veins and my sister and I have veins that move. My mom and her sister have a gap between their two front teeth.
Seems that this God guy is prone to making a few variations from his plan. He maybe just trying stuff out to see what works or doesn't. I think he refers to it as evolution.
