It's no secret that our society has its flaws - dependence on technology, taxes, obesity, devaluation of workers - to name a few. Some people may not even want to think about any of these problems in society but illustrator John Holcroft, on the other hand, he looks them straight in the eye and depicts them in a satirical way.
Though not all of us have to deal with such problems, it is a great reminder to pace yourself and to familiarize with the society today. Who knows, it might make you a better person in some way.
With a style based on 50's advertisements and a vintage feel - Holcroft perfectly captures today's social issues and modern behavior. Also, his illustrations do so in a brutally honest manner. Keep on scrolling to check them out, and you just might realize with what social media problems you have to deal every day.

Ego Boost
Sending this to everyone who complains of my nonparticipation in Facebook.
Facebook is just an example. You can easily substitute it with an account on Disqus or whatever platform you have used to publish this comment.
Load More Replies...Facebook is ridiculous, it just gives people a reason to be in everyone else's business. I'm glad I don't have one.
Is it really bad tho to get some likes on a photo when you don't feel so good ? Sometimes your ego needs to get some food
It's a slippery slope. It starts with just one then spirals out of control in your hunger for more approval from others.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately a lot of people must have such a low self esteem to feel they have to broadcast their whole life and judge themselves by social media acceptance is tragic! Personally I'd rather enjoy my life have human contact and live it!
True. But you will not be safe of superego if you are not on facebook. You will still have to balance your ego. So you can on facebook.
I see this more from the POV of the one giving the thumbs up to others, to express agreement and appreciation.
Hmmm... People who have my back when it feels like the world is against me; people who understand without having to explain it, people who make me feel that everything is going to be OK, someone I can trust my heart with, or 1400 likes on FB... tough choice? Mine is simple: Control, Alt, Delete, and create your own network F2F.
Facebook and Twitter in particular, but all other social media in general have revealed an awful lot of needy insecure people out there, and unashamedly cater to them.
The Original from the Tree of Knowledge as a sources of being like a gods and goddesses knowing good ego and bad ego, turning to the paradise lost of the world and the first Mother Eve and Adam the Greatest 666 Progenitor, The Human DNA is a ''666-deoxyribonucleic-satanic-acid'' These are the results from the Rules & Ruins Policy, some say Survival for the 666 Wild Beast Kingdom!
But also a powerfull tool to citizen activism... You just have to use it the right way...
Isn't this the truth...Their are people that feel emotional hurt regarding likes on Facebook.
Ego that makes you criticize the other....even the one who acuses you of having ego for using fb.....
Ahem... *cough cough* From the point of view of someone who manages a buisness FB site.... Uhm.... Likes bring us.... Salaries...? Not directly, but it's a part of it anyway.
...and you do not see anything weird about the fact that 'fb likes' feed people...?

I like. This states it very well. This is the image I see , having lived through the technological advances in electronics as they've evolved over the past 30 plus years. Especially since I started in IT when it was a pioneering work just to build a PC. And being one of the first women in my state to own her own electronics business, it speaks on other levels. Good job.

As usual. Some are ingenious, others are exaggerated. All in all, although repetitive, these images are always interesting and thought provoking.

Load More Replies...You know what's really wrong with society? Simplistic pictures criticizing complex problems.
Sometimes to make something stand out and/or reach a wider audience, complex problems have to be oversimplified or a specific point highlighted... Don't see anything wrong if it brings the main point across. :)
Load More Replies...It's kinda ironic how there's a lot on social media, while this is shared on social media, and agreed with on social media. Not saying that I'm doing any different, but it is kinda funny to think about.
Would be nice to get something good about society out of these artists for a change...
I'd like to see that man depicting what he thinks could be good for society
Pretentious c**p. The "artist" thinks they're being all edgy and cool when in reality they're a pathetic bullying loser.
#44 Actually it would be more fitting if the UK buffalo would be sitting on an island while the other buffalo stick together and invite the predators into their group...
More pretentious a******s making a big deal out of non-issues such as likes and the 'death' of literature, but the Trump one made me chuckle pretty easily.
Mind sharing some of that fruit? They seem to be low-hanging so you should be able to get a lot
Trump came after the democratic screw ups he is not responsible for the tripe he inherited.
These were a good effort. Thoughtful. Showing it to be more difficult than apparent.

To be really honest, it seems to be missing drug and porn addiction
Looking over them all, basically, modern life or rather how we live in the modern age is based around consume, breed, be ignorant, be greedy/jealous, be shallow/superficial. Its a trap to drain you monetarily and emotionally dry.

A lot of these are just surreal rather than illustrations of "today's problems." Nothing wrong with that, but there isn't always an interpretation.
Change the title to: "What’s Wrong With Today’s Society as Seen by Someone Who Has No Idea How Society Works".
