Most of you are probably familiar with that world-renowned saying that claims that money can’t buy happiness, but is that actually the case?
According to a piece from LendingTree, an online loan marketplace for various financial borrowing needs, including auto loans, small business loans, personal loans, credit cards, and more, 33% of Americans say money makes them happier than love does.
A decent percentage, isn’t it?
It all varies from person to person, of course – however, one thing we know for sure is that money does make us happier, but only up to a certain point. You know, before you go mad like a fair bunch of those A-list celebrities.
Nevertheless, every single one of us has thought about having all the cash in the world, and a Redditor that goes by the name u/GrouchyResolution974 has given us the opportunity to lurk into other people’s dreams.
“What’s one thing you would treat yourself to regularly if money was no object?” – this internet user approached one of Reddit’s most informative and thought-provoking subreddits, inviting its members to reveal the go-to things that they would constantly splurge on if money wasn’t an issue. The thread managed to garner over 22K upvotes as well as 12.4K comments containing some pretty intriguing answers.

Travel. No big plans around trips but just deciding to spend a week or two in another country because I saw it mentioned somewhere and it sounded nice. With money as no object airfare hotels food luggage and all that wouldn’t matter as expenses to plan or save for and it would be so awesome to feel that freedom to just go somewhere whenever the idea strikes you.
First class flights, hands down. There are a few countries I want to visit more than once in half a decade.
Yes, this. My father served in the U.S. Air Force and we traveled a lot. I loved going to another country or another state for a visit. I really miss being able to travel. I’d love to be able to fly out to visit my brother and immediate family for a three day weekend or holiday. I’d also ONLY travel First Class. I hate being over crowded and unable to move. It would be so nice to fly First Class and have more room to myself and better service.
Travel for sure -- by railway to reachable destinations on whatever continents we have sailed to. We are tall folk who dislike the tribulations of air travel, so planes are only options of last resort. While traveling, we would likely accumulate more musical instruments. We have little shelf- or wall-space for further craftworks and art but if we see prize pieces of indigenous pottery, we could be sorely tempted. Hmmm, might have to expand the house to fit such stuff. 8-) Meanwhile, here in our mountain home, we could use a snowplow. And bear traps.
Massages
Definitely, my wife and I love doing this for date night when we get a chance.
Now that I do have money, the one thing I treat myself to is getting whatever I want on a restaurant menu. If I want appitizers, I don't try to get the cheapest, just what sounds good.
I’d buy a house…so tired of how I’m treated as renter but I mean…I CAN’T buy so I don’t get to choose my own paint or have pets or whatever other rules that come up with. THEN your rent is twice what the mortgage would be if you owned. Less ownership MORE restrictions. Blows.
Paying for people’s prescriptions at the pharmacy without them knowing.
High quality food, with actual nutrition.
Having someone else make it for you. Even if it's just a peanut butter sandwich, everything tastes better when someone else makes it.

I want this. I started learning to cook as soon as I could reach the counter standing on a stool. By 10 I was making most meals. As an adult I’ve taken Nutrition and cooking courses. I am quit good for a non professional. But if I won the lottery this would be in the top 3 things I’d do. I am so tired of cooking. And yeah, hire a cleaning service is right up there too.
Staff. Just staff.
Housekeeper, nannies, chauffeurs, personal trainer, personal chef, personal assistant, etc..
I would LOVE to have a weekly maid service. Nothing extravagant--just a basic weekly cleaner. Would make my life so much better.
Leisure time. More of it.
Is 'leisure' merely not being forced into paid employment? If so, and you haven't hired household servants, your 'leisure' time is rapidly devoured by chores. No, genuine leisure demands that minions handle necessary but tedious duties. Do many zillionaires do their own laundry, de-flea their dogs, and push a manual lawnmower over their green-grass acreage? Did Bill Gates paint his own office? One close to me was personal chef to a prominent software zillionaire (who saw no reason to cook for himself). Yes, leave tedious chores for the minions. 8-)
When I was a younger man, I once won $500 in a local raffle. Not enough for anything life-changing, but enough that I wanted to do something memorable. So I spent it on several dozen pounds of meat, sides, briquettes, beer, and a permit, and threw a neighborhood BBQ. About three dozen people showed up across the 4 hours we were allotted, and we all had a great time eating, drinking, and playing Hammerschlagen (hit the nail into the stump).
I'd throw a neighborhood party once a month if money was no object.
Helllll no, i don't like people that much, i would buy a big, really big warehouse, then put hardwood with radial heating on the floor, make a few skylights, buy c**p loads of cat beds, and cat toys, hire a vetirinary and a veterináry nurse, and make a Stray cat sanctuary, i like animals ( especially cats ) a lot more than i like people, cats may be a******s, but they don't pretend to be your friends when they dont like you.
Art classes. All of the art classes, all over the world.
Practice. Classes give guidance but unless you practice outside of class, you will never excel at something. Music, cooking, woodworking - it doesn't matter. keep doing it and develop a muscle memory for it and you'll become better than you ever imagined.
Sleep
True, if you don't need to work and have someone else do your chores you have much more time for 💤
Whatever I wanted. A little treat at the shop, a cute but impractical piece of clothing, a dinner out maybe.
I'd just like to be able to buy something I want for no other reason than because I want it, without having to do all of the mental gymnastics and algorithms about whether it's "worth it" or what I might need that money for later on as I regret the purchase. It must be a really liberating feeling.
You would still feel guilty lol, because there you go on your Balenciaga clothes, and your Chanel bag and your Prada shues, getting in to your Bentley, and you see a homeless person going thru garbage.... Don't think that having money doesn't make you feel guilty, especially if you're a decent person and come from nothing.

There is a consortium of Over 20 countries working on that in France ( ITER ) but they are trying to get a Fusion reactor working, Americans managed that, but the American version of it, is not practical, the ITER version is, but they are yet to achive results. Basicaly they want to cteate a sun ínside a reactor, cheap clean energy.

First, a nice, modestly sized house with central heat and air, a driveway, and maybe a small pool. Second, driving class to get my license. Third, a nice vehicle (preferably something with all-wheel drive for bad weather) with wraps in a style I like. Fourth, classes for a variety of skills (mainly culinary ones). Fifth, a proper computer and gaming setup and art studio.

I would try and get on top of my health issues. ME/Fibro. Ensure blood and chosen family are comfortable. And animal rescue.
After sharing money with family, I would start anonymously donating to charities. I would also set up a system where the teachers in our states would not only get higher salaries but would have a place they can go to get free supplies. I would pay to get art teachers, music teachers and shop teachers into schools that want and need them.
It is NOT the money that stops me, It is getting obese :-( Chocolate, Good Quality dark chocolate. On the other hand I would like a gardener in my dotage -- back, knees and paper thin skin makes it difficult for me.
Buying a house with the back yard completely closed in with chicken wire, wisteria covering the sides and top, with a cat door so the cat can come in or out of the house..
We had to replace our furnace a few years ago- wish we had spent a bit more in monthly payments for a furnace with humidifier for the whole house. We have hard water, and the benefits of a humidifier are amazing but purchasing distilled water, replacing humidifiers and everything makes it a no brained in hindsight. ALSO I'm too old now and it's time for a proper pillow. Ouch.
I love my apartment, but I want more greenery to block the view I have to a busy road. I would also, with other residents' permission pay to redo the landscaping on a pretty courtyard area to have all the agapanthuses removed and replaced with different flowers and pay for a regular gardener (I have the opposite of green thumbs). Don't know why, butI hate agapanthuses!

A great big open top floor loft in the Soho part of NYC with huge arched windows and of course a private elevator. Eating whatever, whenever, wherever. Only the best coffee - maybe each morning at my favorite Soho café. An absolutely ripping 1972 Chevelle securely kept in an exclusive garage within walking distance, kept gassed, cleaned & waxed and looked after by a specialist. This is just for starters, and it expands from there.

A daycare on site and a cafe where you can get 3 meals a day for a cheap price. And all homes would have fast Internet access. All bills, heating, electricity and water will be included in the low rent. No one should have to choose between heating or eating
