I have suffered from depression my whole life and when I was in my 60s I finally found a healthcare professional who prescribed a maintenance dose of antidepressants which allowed me to monitor my depression and increase the dosage when necessary.

I read one recently where an Iraq Vet was put on Ambien and his wife woke up in the middle of the night with him sittin on the bed with his FULLY LOADED AR-15 mumbling something like "This is going to get real bad". She told him he was relieved and to go back and get some downtime. He handed the gun to her and she hid it until morning. Guns are NOT a substitute for therapy folks.

In college I once sat up in the middle of the night and screamed "No, no, get out!". Then I laid back down and went right to sleep. My poor roommate (who was also asleep at the time) nearly wet her bed. I don't do it anymore, but when I was a teen and young adult I used to have some weird sleepwalking/talking behaviors. Which included getting up and getting ready for school at 2am - even going so far as to curl my hair, all while I was still asleep. I sincerely apologize to anyone who had to share a room with me! :)

This sounds like night terrors. I had them as a child and apparently the final straw for my parents was when I woke them up from my screaming, then sat up in bed, pointed near the foot of my bed and said "They're coming." I was put in therapy that week and my family still says the name of the school therapist with reverence.

I'm schizophrenic and on occasion get somniloquy (sleep talking) and "Logorrhea" aka, verbal diarrhoea in my sleep lmao, but I do tend to kind of talk fast and incoherently when it happens. So for this reason, we have a spare bedroom so my wife can still get sleep if I'm like that. It's actually not even all that common among schizophrenics, either iirc, so OPs partner definitely needs a mental health check...

In it, a rich man gets obsessed with flying to a distant planet to find paradise, so he pollutes all of planet earth to build a rocket to get there. if I'm making a cake with several tiers, I'd do this. Gives the cake more support so it doesn't capsize. though normally I use the plastic tubing (poly dowels, I think they're called?) rather than wooden dowels or chopsticks.

In Germany there was once a game show which involved cake throwing at the end. The two hosts would compete against a guest team in different games to earn the cakes, and at the end the losing team would stick their heads trough a cut out and be pelted with cakes by the winners. If a remember correctly the hosts were usually the losers, in like 80 to 90 percent of cases. Edit: After googling the show I learned that the "Cakes" weren´t really cakes, but just whipped egg whites and food coloring.

Everyone desererves freedom. Enough is enough. Whilst I despise what the Israeli Government and a good chunk of its people have done in murdering innocent children especially (and before you argue it, the hamas beheading babies thing was fake), I just want it all to end with a hopefully peaceful resolution. I saw a good youtube video explaining NFTs. They have legit purposes but the stuff that doesn't seem stupid is more related to contract stuff. Again, I'm not explaining it as well as he did, but in general think of a way to make certain agreements public and everyone can see it. So - not all NFTs are art but I agree the art ones selling for tons of money are stupid. And you don't even have exclusive use of the art. the very nature of the public block chain is anyone can follow the link to the art you bought (but I think technically didn't actually buy the art - I get lost in the details)

You have to understand tipping culture in the USA. The 15-20% is considered part of the wages. My son works at a restaurant, when he’s working the take out counter he gets $14/hr. When he waits on tables, he gets $8.90/hr + tips. He works at a high end restaurant and can clear $40-50/ hr. He gets a lower wage because the tips are supposed to bring you up to minimum wage and beyond. But people know to tip at expensive restaurants. It’s the poor waiters at the cheaper restaurants like Wafflehouse, etc. And yes, even bars you have 3 drinks at, where the servers get shafted on the tips. It’s not a fair system, I think everyone should be paid minimum wage, but that’s the reality, it’s the “rules”, so tip for goodness sake. HOWEVER, you don’t need to tip at every freaking fast food restaurant and food stand that has the tip screen come up. That’s getting out of hand.

The price is in addition to them just plain sucking. There are better headsets for less than a grand (well, I think that was the second hand price, no clue about new, still better than the Apple one).

LOL. You've clearly never used one. The only shortcoming for the thing (other than price) is the lack of dedicated apps designed specifically for it.....a problem that will be solved in time. Apple filed 5000 patents while developing the thing, 5 motion sensors, 6 microphones and twelve cameras' there's so much sensor data going into the thing it required it's own dedicated piece of silicon to process it all. Are there better gaming headsets? Absolutely. But that's not what the vision pro is. It's in a segment all it's own, and there's nothing that compares.

That was necessary to the exhibit as an art act though. The legal action was in effect an attempt to prevent the artwork from existing. It was an exploration of gender privilege, entitlement, etc. (If I remember rightly, the works supposedly kept from men turned out to have been faked for the exhibition... It was all about perceptions.)

It was all pure publicity seeking. The exhibit was supposed to include a Picasso or something. Lots of in court fighting and news coverage later, the rich woman behind it all admitted the paintings were fakes and tried to justify it.

This museum is known for its “edgy” and “provocative” installations. It has a machine that generates poop and defecates daily, it has a wall of vågïnä molds etc etc. They are loving this publicity and will probably fight it until the end, then open to everyone the day after.

I'm not very familiar with celebrities myself but I'm pretty sure it's just a last name. Last names don't take genders, for example Johnson does not become Johndaughter. It had nothing to do with her gender as far as I know. I could be wrong though.

The civil rights movement also voted for the best candidates, and didn't wait around for the "Perfect" candidate. The Christian Right voted for Trump, who they hate, because he said he would put right wing judges in the SCOTUS. The Left refused to vote for CLinton because she wasn't perfect, and so we now have the SCOTUS that we have. They still refuse to learn, because they are still making it all about themselves, and how they will feel for voting for somebody who isn't perfect. The left also refuses to try to convince others of the rightness of their cause. All they can say is "it's not my job to enlighten you", leaving the field to the wingnuts and their toxic b******t.

I’m not sure people understand what freedom of speech entails. The First Amendment protects us against government limits on our freedom of expression, but it doesn’t prevent private employers, businesses, organizations,, entities, groups, individuals etc from setting their own rules or policies on what speech is accepted.

And to my knowledge, this first amendment does not give the absolute right to say anything about anyone or any subject (like incitement to hatred etc.). It is rather the assurance that the State will not censor opinions or journalistic speeches that do not go in its direction.

Ok, so Wisconsinite here. The blue areas are places with big cities, such as Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay. Big cities, in general, tend to be more liberal. The red areas have smaller populations. There are "towns" in Wisconsin that consist of a handful of houses, a bar, and a gas station. Also, Wisconsin is a swing state.

But those consequences aren't levied by the government outside of a very narrow set of restrictions which pertain to threats or incitement of violence or advertising or soliciting illegal activity. Which means while you "might" get your a*s kicked for using a racial slur, the government doesn't have the right to impose legal consequences for doing so, nor do they, or should they have the right to COMPEL the use of specific words in pertaining to anything or anyone. The concept of "free speech" boils down to the ability to think, and to express those thoughts in a productive and useful manner. No one else has the right to dictate the terms of those things.
