Back in 2018, an 83-year-old man named Ali Meşe thought he'd lost everything. His house had burned down in a terrible fire, leaving him homeless and without possessions. But one very important thing was saved — his tiny, blonde-furred cat.

if you guy want to feel better, do a read up on the story, He got a new home for him and ofcoz his lovely kitten
Michelle, thank you for saying that. I googled the man's name and learned about all the support he was given and it was so heartwarming.
Load More Replies...Posted last month, the only pic you need to see today, Ali and his kitty, talk about a glow-up! *SNIFF!* From here: https://www.reddit.com/r/blessedimages/comments/zz7wkm/blessed_83yearold_ali_me%C5%9Fe_lost_everything_except/ 2023-01-24...9905e4.png
Hooray!! Too overcome that tragedy takes a lot of heart, strength and courage.. good on them..
Load More Replies...We were standing outside, barefoot, as our home and belongings burned in a fire. But, we were all safe, and our two dogs and cats were safe. And neighbors brought my son shoes and a few toys, one brought extra cat food, one brought coffee and breakfast. Quite often, I've found people to be truly wonderful.
Tamra, this happened to you? Holy Sh!t. I'm sorry. Must have been traumatizing, especially for your son. And I guess the photo's and family memories were burnt. Hugs Tamra.
Load More Replies...So beautiful. When we had to move at first I couldn't take my kitty and she went to stay with my grandparents. Bonded with my grandfather right away. Grandmother went to ask if she could stay and I told her I could already tell he was just as attached to her as she was to him and I couldn't separate them. A year later my grandmother passed unexpectedly... I feel my kitty, now his helped to get him through some of the worst bits. Thank goodness for companions.🥺
Great photo---tells the story in one image. Poor man. Glad he and his kitty got a new home.
Bored Panda got in touch with Alicja Posłuszna, a hobby photographer from Poland, whose photograph of a kitty looking into a mirror through a window recently went viral after it was featured on the "Street Photographers" Instagram page. The photograph, which depicts a cat staring into a mirror, has a deeper meaning rooted in the famous Schrödinger's Cat thought experiment. As Alicja explains, "The context is the famous Schrödinger's Cat, the association is quite obvious. The role of the observer is taken over by the cat; it decides whether I am alive or not."

Solves that age-old question-- why did the dog go to the center of the road?
Alicja's photograph was selected to be featured on the Instagram page, which serves as a platform for up-and-coming photographers to showcase their work. As Alicja states, "My style of photography is an expression of my sense of aesthetics, imagination, and courage to be myself through what I show. Thank you to all the observers, as you also create with me through your reception. Together, the meaning emerges."

Really funny but really dangerous at the same time. Hope he knows when to duck.

I don't know who won, but I bet the fish hoped they would call a truce.
When asked about her favorite type of photograph, Alicja expresses her love for black and white photography, saying "I love black and white photography for its rawness and depth. The absence of color is what draws my attention and curiosity. Without the distractions of color, the important content can truly shine through."

I put a mirror by one of our cat trees, they love to stare at us in their mirror 😂
This is ABSOLUTELY my favorite pic. Great in black and white. Color wouldn't have the same impact.

I'm hoping it's the last one, I forgot to do my biology work
Load More Replies...Finally cats showing the true colors behind their infamous stare downs.
Alicja's passion for photography is evident in her words and her work. She never feels burnt out, as she explains "I don't take photos out of force, unwillingly, or boredom. Photography is my passion, and I am constantly surprised by the moments when I feel compelled to take my camera in hand and embark on a photographic journey, both outside and within myself. My inspiration doesn't force me to do anything, but it whispers softly in my ear, guiding me in the present moment."

This isn't fat, its ascites. As other pandas have pointed out, it's a medical sign of several things, including organ failure.
If it's ascites, the condition would be painful, and chances are you'd know something is wrong. The man in the photo just looks obese to me, not sick.
Load More Replies...I'd feel like running up to him and patting his bump and ask 'are there twins?' Then walk away. Just on behalf of all pregnant women who've had strangers do this to them.
Then you are into body shaming, this even without knowing the mans background..
Load More Replies...I‘ve just recently read a story about just this scenario and now I just cannot stop thinking that this guy probably has a tumor in his belly. It looks too firm for a beer belly.
For Alicja, the most rewarding part of the creative process is sharing her photographs with others. As she states, "Each stage of my photography process holds its own value for me, but the most rewarding aspect is sharing my creations with others. It's truly beautiful to see my photographs come to life in the eyes of others, as it's through their perspective that the image truly comes alive and photography truly comes to life."

A friend of mine was a line man, he and his partner had met we're both electrocuted. His partner passed away, & he lost an arm with all of his burned. A little over a year or so his older brother in a neighboring state (he was also a lineman) was electrocuted. His brother was need up loosing most of his arms. These men have suffered through sever burns but have the best outlooks on life!! You can go to YouTube and find the No-Handed Bandit.
This guy is very passionate about saving his life would definitely want him to save mine
The dude is giving CPR saved his life after he got electrocuted. This was in the news recently.

Oh wow this photo was taken by Vivian Maier! She was an incredible photographer with a really interesting story. From Wikipedia: Vivian Dorothy Maier was an American street photographer whose work was discovered and recognized after her death. She took more than 150,000 photographs during her lifetime, primarily of the people and architecture of Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles, although she also traveled and photographed worldwide. http://www.vivianmaier.com/
I used to press my face against the glass like that when I was a kid. That’s a lie. I STILL do that. I’m 62, btw…

(Steve Miller Band in background...) I want to fly like an eagle....into the future.....
Wonder how long the kid had to stand up there before the plane came by?

It does have a certain beauty, but overall his eyes are so sad...

There's a lot going on here! Love the "arrow through the head" look on the guy turning towards us (the photographer or the cats, I wonder?), which giku T mentioned. It also has to be a rare shot of two cats with only three paws on the ground between them, lol.
10 points to anyone old enough to remember that song reference.

Only 10 pegs ... less than I would have thought required. However we now need to remove them one by one to find the true minimum. Source - I was the older brother.
I don't know why people got so upset when I duct taped the baby to the wall. Clearly it's a tradition to hang your children.
My brother Told me that thanks to me he can get out of about any kind of bondage. Chewing threw rope and breaking zip ties and untying knots with his mouth

wow, how fast was that bird going to punch a hole in a wire fence?
"For just a skyline pigeon, dreaming of the open, waiting for the day, he can spread his wings and fly away again!" A nod to my fellow Elton fans. Such a perfect pic for "Skyline Pigeon"!

We had a guy in San Francisco everybody called “Ribbon Man”, because he wore different colored, shiny, streaming ribbons on his hat and his beard, and rode his bike up and down a busy street during rush hour. The ironic part is that he obviously did it for attention, but if he’d ride by someone who cheered “Hey, Ribbon Man”, he’d tell them to f**k off! 😂

If they have to advertise 'New clean rooms' you have to wonder the state of them before this??
Worked for TriMet for 2 years a bit over a decade ago and drove the 72 several times then. 82nd is an... interesting area. Seems pretty likely that this motel takes cash, possibly by the hour.

It's likes scene out of a dystopian future, where people pathetically try to have a little fun in the ruins of their smoggy world... Or an excellently timed shot.

This has Toddlers and Tiaras written all over it and I hate every single adult in this picture! Okay, there's only two, but they're both twits if they think this is healthy (the beauty pageant aspect, I mean, not the smokes).
I don't know... The dresses, the big hair, the smokes - my mind went to Irish travelers preparing for a big event.
Load More Replies...I stared at this a while trying to sort out why it feels cringe to me. The cigarettes, the dyed hair, too much makeup, double wide mobile home, the stupid dead space near the ceiling, little kids being made to look like "women". Could be them. Could be the strong late 60s / early 70s vibes that remind me of some c**p from my childhood. Dunno, they might be nice people but the photo gives me 'yuck' vibes.
I was also wondering where and when this photo was taken so I checked the photographers site. The photo is captioned "Final Touch Before Church, Wexford, Ireland, 2022".
Given the quality of the photograph itself (by which I mean the sharp colors and crisp lines) I'm not surprised this is recent, as much as it feels a little shocking that this is still standard in some places.
Load More Replies...Is what is disgusting was your doctors and gov telling you how safe cigarettes were. I remember my dentist smoking as he worked on me. I remember my mother smoking in the hospital, bank, plane in the market. There was even a brand of cigarettes called asthma cigarettes to help you breathe better
Load More Replies...They're smoking around kids how is this beautiful? It is basically endangering kids. Wtf they need to change the title of this article. A lot of these are not beautiful and there is a better word in the dictionary to describe them.
I don't think it's meant to be beautiful, I think it's more of shock value. This used to be standard practice dating before the 60s, 70s in the US. Thankfully laws were passed.
