23 People Who Didn’t Think Before Posting On Social Media And Ended Up Losing Their Jobs
Our time is the time of social media. So many of us can't imagine our day without at least glimpsing at the likes of Twitter or Facebook feeds, scrolling through Tumblr dashboards or staring at the colorful photos on Instagram. And while for the most part posts on social media just seem like a minuscule part of our lives, sometimes a single message at the wrong place and wrong time can start a horrible domino effect that can topple entire lives.
Unfortunately for the people on this list, all it took for their lives to be turned upside was a single (or more) post on social media. Either a rant about their job, a misplaced joke or a distasteful photo, was all that was needed for things to go south really quickly. Be it your boss or an angry mob online, if your posts get seen by the wrong people, there's no turning back from the consequences. So learn from these examples and pay better attention to what you post online, as one can never know who might see it.

Glee Extra, Nicole Crowther, Ended Her Career In The Entertainment Industry By Tweeting Spoilers Of The Show
Nicole Crowther was a one time extra on Fox show Glee who became known for posting spoilers of the show on Twitter. Unfortunately for her, one of the spoilers was a nail in the coffin of her career as she spoiled who was Prom King and Queen in the second season of the prom episode. This prompted Brad Falchuk, one of the show’s producers and creators to tweet “Who are you to spoil something talented people have spent months to create? Hope you’re qualified to do something besides work in entertainment.” Nicole later admitted that the tweet basically ruined her life as she was blacklisted as an extra, so instead of pursuing her acting dreams she had to go work for her family's roofing business.
Pretty sure she had to sign a NDA...she might as well have shot herself in the foot.
Why would anyone do that unless they wanted to end their show biz career?
But why spoil it for everyone, then complain you got fired? Madness.
I think they found it more satisfying to squash her dreams of working in entertainment. A more fitting punishment in my opinion.

A daycare worker from Mesa, Arizona posted some questionable images on social media that got her fired back in 2016. The woman shared a series of images and videos that included one where she is flipping off the kids she was looking over with a caption that said 'swear i love kids!' Once the owner of the Kid's Play Learning Center received messages about the incident from angry parents, she terminated the employment.
well- this one needed to happen- if you can't do your job- then- DON'T!
Death threats needed to happen because someone has a different sense of humour than you do? Remind me not to get on your bad side.
Load More Replies...She should not gave recorded and shared anything. Kids ! Private! In this case sacked is right.!
Yup!! Here on spain they need to send a consent to the parents and take it back signed. Schools cannot make a single photo without that.
Load More Replies...People trust you with their kids and you do this? Getting fired was not enough punishment.
It was exactly the appropriate punishment. What more do you expect?
Load More Replies...So stupid it's hilarious. On a serious note- good for any child who would ever be near her.
I don't ñike kids that much but I do respect them, I think it's not that difficult? In the end they are also human beings... Tiny, but human
Just a guy having so need fun people need to chill out
Cheerleader Gabriella Pasqualotto Was Fired For Posting The Details Of Her Squad's Life In An Online Diary, Which She Was Hired To Do
As surprising as the fact that cricket teams have cheerleaders, the reason for Gabriella Pasqualotto's termination is just as baffling. In 2011, pro cricket team Mumbai Indians fired the cheerleader for blogging. Which later came to light was what she was hired to do. The team was aware that she could write, so they encouraged her to keep "The Secret Diary of an IPL Cheerleader". Reportedly, Pasqualotto was too honest on her diary and wrote who was flirting with who and the way her squad was treated by players during parties. After being given the boot, the South African cheerleader reported that she felt mistreated and thinks that it was one of the Australian cricketers who became upset with what she wrote about him and complained to get her fired.
I have no idea who idea who I should yell at so... truck whoever is responsible for something!
Load More Replies...It's a different country so maybe reporting it won't help at all. It's a shame really that wasn't right at all.
Load More Replies...and they still boast of scoring one with these poor girls on prime time shows.. S****y ppl.
Why is she in this list? If that's what she was asked to do, it's not a lack of thinking before acting.
Having cheerleaders for any sport at all is too pathetic to get past. If you’re not excited enough to cheer as a fan, then it must not be very interesting. Gyrating women shouldn’t have to coax anyone into cheering.
I am Australian. And this comes as no surprise. Australian cricketers are the most disgusting representitives for their country. A lot of people are embaressed and ashamed of them. And here is another story of what spoilt brats they are.
Hairdresser Is Left Unemployed After Posting An Angry Rant Over Staff Deciding To Save A Dying Woman Instead Of Serving Her
After spending a New Year's Eve dinner in Kilroy's Bar N' Grill in Indianapolis, one hairdresser wasn't too happy with the experience and decided to take to Facebook to express her feelings. Holly Jones posted an emotionally loaded message back in 2016, but it probably still haunts her. After complaining about staff's reaction to saving a "junkie" who "overdosed", the lady received a reply from the restaurant manager who explained what really happened. Turns out, the person who Jones referred to as 'dead person' was actually a 70+ year old lady who suffered a heart attack and had to be taken to hospital. Luckily, the woman survived, though the same couldn't be said about Jones' career. After public outrage and personal attacks, the salon where Jones was working was bombarded with negative reviews and threats. The woman was soon fired from her job and has since disappeared from social media.
"The manager said someone dying was more important than our business" yeah she's definitely going to hell
I'm sure the staff was rude to this woman and her group because they were the a******s, not the other way around.
I remember hearing about this. The manager yelled at them because they were complaining about the service while he was trying to move chairs and tables for the emergency service to get in. Then they demanded a discount on their bill because of the "crappy service".
Load More Replies...I remember when that first happened. I had a hard time believing it was real, that someone could be *that* selfish, arrogant and entitled. She sounds like a textbook psychopath.
I thought it was fake when I first heard about it.
Load More Replies...This is a huge incident, but on a smaller scale, customers display this sort of entitled attitude a lot. People really need to think before they talk to hospitality workers as if they aren't human.
It was real. An old lady had a heart attack and this terrible woman said that was no reason for disturbing their meal. I wish Bored Panda had included the managers response to her. It explains the situation better.

Back in 2012, one Taco Bell employee, Cameron Jankowski, decided that it was a good idea to tweet this image to a controversial internet figure and a now-convicted criminal Hunter Moore with hashtags #pissolympics, #nacobellgrande and captioned “guess where I work”. While Moore declared Jankowski the “winner of the piss Olympics”, the public only had outrage to offer. While plenty of people sent him angry messages, the 'vigilante' internet group Anonymous released his personal information. While the young man claimed he never served the food in the photo to anyone, some Twitter users claimed that putting human waste into food by a food handler could be considered a felony. While no charges were pressed, Jankowski had to find a new job as Taco Bell didn't share his carefree way of thinking.
That is f***ing disgusting, he should never be allowed to work in the food industry again.
Because jail isn’t the solution to every problem. They doxxed him, which was way more appropriate and probably messed him up worse anyway.
Load More Replies...heard he works in fast food today, different company but.....why would taco bell not press charges, why can't the health dept. press charges?
This was seven years ago. He's no longer a teenager, so I doubt he's ever done anything like this again. He is, however, a bartender now, so take your chances!
what people do for followers... damn right he shouldn't be in the fast food industry
I heard about some creep who used to p!$$ in the fryer at the burger place he worked at until somebody mopping accidentally bumped into him (didn't see what he was doing) and he got deep fried naughty bits
New England Patriots Cheerleader Caitlin Davis Was Fired From The Squad For Posting This Image Online
Over a decade ago, this New England Patriots cheerleader was kicked off the squad for posting a photo online. The picture showed her posing next to a passed out guy with a sharpie in hand. While Caitlin Davis found the situation amusing, her management did not and she got the boot. Reportedly, what caught everyone's attention was the things that were drawn on him, like "I'm Jew" phrase and a penis. Davis defended herself saying that she's only to blame for poor judgment for taking this photo as she wasn't the one who actually drew on the guy's body. Still, the photo posted and the scandal that followed was enough to get her fired.
Christina Sersif; No, Not ok and Not everyone has ever done such a filthy thing to any one, much less to a friend.
If she didn't actually do it, then why did she pose front and center with the crayon as if she did?
One of the only country you can elect a crook for president and get fired over a simple prank. Go figure.
Actually that would apply to almost every country on earth. Plus I don’t think she got fired for the prank, she probably got fired for the racism.
Load More Replies...Every one of her judgments was poor in this case: the permanent markers, the phrases and pictures, and their location, taking the photos, the sitting and posing for the photo, and then posting the photo. So there was a whole cascade of really bad decisions here.
Racism is in the blood of some people. They just can’t be any other way. I couldn’t be less surprised that THAT chick is racist.
ok where's the swastika? Because I can see the penis but no swastika.
What ever happened to just drawing a swirly mustache and glasses, or a goatee, or an "L"?
Zoo Worker Posted A Comment On Social Media That Received So Much Backlash Online She Was Forced To Quit Her Job And Change Her Name On Facebook
In 2015, Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo employee Rochelle Robinson decided to complain about being ignored by visitors at the zoo. Naturally, the woman took to Facebook, announcing that she's serving "rude ass white people". A situation that, according to Rochelle, made her quit her job. Robinson received many complaints and comments about her post that all resulted in a wave of negative attention. Brookfield Zoo representatives issued a statement on their Facebook page that said this: "Yesterday, we became aware of the actions of a single employee which we agree are unacceptable. This employee's statements in social media are in violation of our policies and do not reflect our institution's values. We have zero tolerance for these kinds of divisive behaviors. We treat all employment matters confidentially but please know that we took prompt action to remedy the situation this morning." They also later confirmed that Rochelle was no longer an employee at their zoo.
It is strange that some people think that it is OK to be racist against white people. All racism is bad.
Ive worked in retail and the food industry, and I got rudeness from all races. That's just what happens when u work with the public.
Exactly. I've worked in the food industry for 20 years. If you can't handle ignorant, rude people, then you shouldn't work with the public. One thing I've learned; what you might see as someone being an arsehole, might be someone who just had to put their furry baby down, or just got the news they have a terminal illness. You don't know what's going on with people, so you just do your job to the best of your ability, and move on.
Load More Replies...I've worked customer service and I got very rude customers of all races...I'm Hispanic but look very white so it really is just that PEOPLE are rude!!!!
Yeah, it's the bad attitude ppl have against food service workers and the service industry in general. Don't forget to tip your waitress/waiter!!
Load More Replies...I'm baffled by the double standards people using here. If this had been a white girl posting a similar remark about black people, everyone would be yelling "Racism" on the top of their lungs. Now it's a black girl and people write that it isn't racism because she doesn’t condemn all white people. I guess that in their eyes it's ok for a white person to use the N-word to a rude black person too., because not all black people are condemned.
This always amazed me when I moved to the U.S. I hear racism against white people all the time and it never seems to be an issue. I understand that some white people did bad things, but I shouldn’t have to pay for it.
Considering the backlash this woman received I would say that people do consider it an issue.
Load More Replies...Well, if a white worker had posted something along these lines, they would have received the same punishment.
The zoo explanation and actions sound pretty canned..... like so many other companies that have had stupid employees doing stupid stuff.
IAC Exec Justine Sacco Was Fired From Her Job And Online-Shamed On Twitter For 'Satire'
While on flight from New York to Cape Town back in December 2013, Justine Sacco made several tweets to her 170 Twitter followers. Among some of them was the unfortunate "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just Kidding. I'm white!" which Sacco claimed to be a satire intended to mock American ignorance of South Africa, as she's South African herself. Despite her comments, people on the internet weren't happy with the original tweet and started #HasJustineLandedYet hashtag, referencing her loss of job. Sacco's case became one of the most prominent examples of how a vigilante campaign of public shaming can affect and even destroy a person's life and career.
What was her thought process? That white people coudn't get aids? That only Africans can give aids? What???
Well she said it was satire, that she was making fun of what white people say because she’s South African herself, if you read the summary you would have got all that. HOWEVER, satire or not, what she did was stupid and not right since she should have wrote in a tweet right after that she meant that as satire. But she didn’t, and she came across as a racist a*****e.
Load More Replies...Just recently I've watched a TED talk that discusses this particular story very thoroughly and it made my perception on a lot of these posts different. I highly recommend you watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAIP6fI0NAI The thing is - as much as what she did was wrong, what followed was most definitely not justified up to the level that it got to.
You should check out the book 'so you've been publicly shamed' by Jon Ronson. great book that really opened my eyes to the 'stacks-on' of online 'justice'
Load More Replies...I heard about this on the news when it was all big, people must feel bad for the woman. She was visiting her South African family and posted that as a joke, thinking people wouldn't be offended because of the situation, but not enough info was given unfortunately. Literally her entire life for 2-3 years was ruined because she used a bad choice of words.
I think when her tweet backfired, she claimed it was satire. She’s probably so stupid, she thinks only blacks can get AIDS.
Reality or satire, this was a monstrously stupid thing to put on Twitter! She deserved all the shaming she got.
It may sound bad at first read, but the intent was satirical. "Isn't it messed up that white people think they are immune to AIDS?" "isn't it sad that such a racial disparity exists?" That's what was meant by the satire, if you read between the lines and know her history. I'm sure this will get downvoted by people who have a gut reaction, but I'm posting for those of you who are genuinely curious about wtf this lady meant. She actually isn't a racist, she just has a kind of sense of humor that's a few levels deep. The funny part isn't that she's calling attention to a stereotype, it's that she's calling out society for being f**ed up. So it's different than saying something offensive and then saying "jk lol!" There was a deeper meaning to begin with. Anyway I hope this makes at least one person understand this controversy better- I listened to a podcast about the issue and now I really feel for the woman.
Rashard Mendenhall Lost His Endorsements And Eventually Retired From Professional Football Career Because Of A Tweet Relating To The Death Of Osama Bin Laden
On May 2, 2011, observing the American reaction to the death of Osama bin Laden, the a former NFL running back posted his thoughts on Twitter. His criticism on the celebrations resulted in a backlash and soon afterwards Mendenhall lost his endorsements and was traded from Pittsburgh Steelers to the Cardinals. In 2014 he retired from a professional football career.
The man conspired and orchestrated the death of many people. He was a terrorist. Who gives a F what "his side is" ???!!!
It's never that simple. I'm not saying I want to "hear his side" but if you're talking about orchestrating death - 31,000 civilians died in Afghanistan because the US waged war there. 10 times as many as died in 9/11. And that's not simple either, so don't hear me drawing conclusions I'm not. But your statement ignores the fact that "terrorism" takes many forms.
Load More Replies...American sanctions on Iraq killed half a million Iraqi children. This was before 9/11 but this was Iraq's 9/11......and yet Osama is the only bad guy here. No, he wasn't. And btw, Saddam Hussein was supported by the Reagan administration despite the former's human rights violations against the Kurds. Go check it out.
What is your implication here? That the US doing bad things somehow excuses murdering innocent civilians?
Load More Replies...Don't get me wrong- I'm not a fan of Bin Laden- but I don't celebrate anyone's death.
Same here. I also believe this man has a right to his opinion, no matter how unpopular his view may be.
Load More Replies...America the land of consequences bro. That was not ok to post plain and simple.
Load More Replies...Mendenhall was an absolute idiot for posting that tweet, but he didn't lose his job because of it, he played another three YEARS and made a few million bucks and is now a successful writer for the TV show Ballers.
You agree that you can’t hate a man you haven’t heard speak (even if he killed thousands of people)?
Load More Replies...The many heads of the Hydra, Americans were so happy when Bin Laden was killed because they watched to many films where the bad guy dies and its the end of bad stuff but fundamentalism does not work like that, the world is no safer there are always followers, leaders, murdered and terrorists. Killing one wont end it sadly.
Were are the bio weapons, in iraq? Let's free Libya by empowering people, and then leave them to the fare of civil war. The same in Syria, afheganistan, and iraq. Let's free Costa Rica and Panama from dictatorship and make them ours to rule... meanwhile, each of this result in the death of hundreds of thousands of inocent bystanders
What is your point and how does it relate to whether or not it’s ok to hate Bin Laden? Are you suggesting that the people he killed deserved to die because of what country they were born in?
Load More Replies...I agree with this guy that no one should celebrate death of another human being.
A Toronto Based Sportscaster, Damian Goddard, Was Fired For A Homophobic Tweet
Damian Goddard lost his position as a sportscaster for Rogers Sportsnet after he decided to express his solidarity with Todd Reynolds and take a stand against gay marriage on Twitter. Although it was 2011, it was also the time right after the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010, so many people had a lot to say. It all began with Sean Avery's support for same-sex couples which started a gay marriage debate. After Todd Reynolds, an agent with Uptown Sports, decided to criticize Avery's stance, Damian Goddard thought it's a good idea to join on with his homophobic views. Soon enough, Rogers Sportsnet representatives issued a statement that simply said that Damian Goddard is no longer with them.
It's like that saying goes: respect their existence or expect their resistance
To feel that way privately is one thing, but when you're a public figure your freedom of speech isn't so free anymore. Your opinions have consequences so it's wise to not share them out loud.
If Goddard chooses to be a monster, he should keep it at home.
Load More Replies...I disagree with him, but I'm tired of people getting fired for having different opinions than ours. What's next? Will I be fired if I disagree with Oprah ?
There is no "true meaning" of marriage. Marriage is not a religious union, it's a civil union.
Wow! Nothing homophobic about that. It wasn't mean or anything, it was just an opinion...
Having a homophobic opinion would be homophobic so....
Load More Replies...What's wrong favouring against gay marriage? You believe in something, I believe in another thing. Is it hateful now to be disagree on a subject?
doesn't sound anti gay, is pro straight now wrong? why can you believe a way but anyone believing different is wrong?
How would one be pro straight without being anti gay? People that believe straight marriage is the only true marriage don't want gays to get married. While he didn't actually say he was against gay marriage, he is against it. He avoided using the term "anti gay", but that was his message.
Load More Replies...Then quit getting divorced and quit cheating. You ruined the sanctity of marriage, not gay people.
There is nothing inherently wrong with divorce. People shouldn’t have to stay in miserable marriages.
Load More Replies...Wait...what...he wasn't allowed to express his support for traditional marriage?? Don't people support gay marriage? How can one be a firing offense while the other is celebrated?
Apple Legally Fired An Employee, Samuel Crisp, After He Posted Numerous Rants About Apple Products On His Facebook Page
Back in 2011, one Apple employee decided to post all the issues he had with the company on his Facebook feed. Unfortunately, one of Crisp's friend on the platform was also an Apple employee who tipped a manager off. Long story short, Apple terminated their contract with Samuel Crisp, well within their right, apparently. Samuel didn't want to give up and took the case to an employment tribunal in Bury St Edmunds. Too bad for him, the tribunal agreed with Apple and dismissed Crisp's complaint, stating that Apple was acting within its rights to fire their employee on the grounds of breaching business conduct policy.
I work for a major bank and that is too our policy that if we see something on social media where a coworker is bashing the company or saying things they shouldn't, we're supposed to "raise our hands". The thing is...I'm not a snitch so....
Better employee. Basic rule - don't talk s**t about where you work. It'll probably get you fired.
Load More Replies...In the USA, you can mostly say what you want about your employer without legal persecution, but you will probably get fired and no one will defend you. Even when employers are in the wrong, there’s very little protection for employees. Don’t ever expect to have any power or indemnity over your employer in the USA. They hold all the power. Apple is particularly powerful and particularly arrogant. I’m saying this as a former fan of their products. I know enough about the company to know I would never want to work for them or anyone like them.
The Principal Of North Miami Senior High School Lost His Job Over A Facebook Comment
If you remember the "McKinney pool party" incident, then you probably remember the outrage and discussion that followed as well. If you're not familiar with the case, it was basically a racially motivated American civil disturbance that occurred on June 5, 2015, when A McKinney police officer was recorded restraining an unarmed black 15-year-old girl on the ground. The police officer, Eric Casebolt, later resigned. It didn't stop the principal of North Miami Senior High School, Alberto Iber, to drop his two cents on Facebook, expressing support to the officer fighting unarmed teenagers in swimsuits. The Miami-Dade County school district responded to Iber's comment by removing him as a principal.
He was afraid for his life? What a coward! If you think violence like that is ok against kids, you should not be responsible for them.
American police officers use that as an excuse for their misconduct. 6 policeman shot a guy who was found sleeping in his car because they were afraid for their lives. It took them 20 bullets from up close, but they killed the guy.
Load More Replies...He should be fired for being dumb enough to think that, at least.
sure.. she could take off her bikinis and slap him to death with them??? That could totally be life threatening!
Notice how few comments there are on this thread? The wrong comment could literally cost you your life. Incidents like this are the result of employing a police force that is afraid of the job. Afraid the ppl they are supposed to protect and serve. I for one am terrified of the police & any person that still believes that they will better any situation by calling their local P.D. really needs to rethink dialing them digits. Parents & neighbors, stop calling the police when your children act up.
Yeah if you're mentally ill family member or friend is doing bad and needs professional help, DO NOT call the police because there's a chance your family member or friend might get shot.

The comedian who has a history of making controversial jokes managed to turn another one out on Twitter back in 2011, when he posted a rather insensitive tweet on his page. The joke referenced the earthquake disaster in Japan that took over 15,000 lives and resulted in $360 billion damage. He was quickly dismissed from voicing Aflac's duck mascot which was unsurprising as Aflac does 75% of its business in Japan.
They knew what sort of person they were hiring. If they don’t like these sorts of jokes they should have gotten someone else in the first place.
That's really s****y way of excusing someone's bad behaviour

In 2013, Alicia Ann Lynch had no idea that her life would become a living nightmare after she posted a photo of her Halloween costume on Twitter. Unfortunately, she decided to dress up as a Boston Marathon bombing victim and people noticed. People noticed and people were outraged. They sent Lynch death threats, vile messages and some even went as far as to dig up her old provocative photos, despite Alicia's apologies and attempts to delete the initial photo. Her Twitter account was suspended and once she got access to it again, that's what Alicia tweeted: "I have been fired from my job. I am paying for what I thought was a simple joke. I know it was wrong now. I wasn't thinking".
That's on poor taste but why death threats? How does that make anything better?
Costume: unacceptable. Death threat response to costume: also unacceptable. I continue to be sadly amazed at how little sense of taste and proportionate response people have...
Virtue Signallers are a binary system. On or off. The same vitriol for a child molester goes for someone who made a halloween costume.
Load More Replies...It is really bad taste to wear such a costume, but most of those people mortally offended probably weren't personally involved in the Boston tragedy. It's as if it has become a race to find the newest thing to be offended in. It's as if the "offended" thrive on the positive resonance they get from other "offended". Death threats and someone losing their job, is that really a reasonable punishment?
I mean, very VERY poor taste. But not worth any death threats/firing from job due to a bad joke
Death threats no, fired yes. She should have known better.
Load More Replies...It's not creative, funny, or sexy. It's insensitive, repulsive, and mean.
What would really be funny is her wearing the costume as a caregiver helping groom some of the runners or spectators who were impacted immensely ie amputations or burn victims etc and see if anyone finds her joke amusing?! Food for thought.

A Social Media Strategist For Chrysler, Scott Bartosiewicz, Got Fired After Tweeting A Personal Message On The Official Twitter Account For Chrysler
Mr. Bartosiewicz had the misfortune of mixing up his personal account with the one that he was managing at his job. When he expressed his personal opinion in a tweet that said "I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to [effin] drive", Scott didn't mean to post to it to the effin official Chrysler account. To no surprise, Chrysler officials didn't take too kindly to someone dropping the f-bomb to their customers and promptly ended the contract with Bartosiewicz's employer, New Media Strategies. Oh, and Scott was fired, which also didn't surprise anyone.
To be honest, that is dumb from the company. I can understand if you fire someone who did something like that intentionally. But this was really a mistake. Give him another job inside the company, thats enough punishment.
Seems kinda excessive to fire him for that. So worried about a word..
Nah he shouldn’t have been fired for that. That s**t is hilarious and not bigoted or anything. Also it was a fun mistake, not even intentional.
A Pastor And High-Ranking Crossfit Employee Was Fired For A Homophobic Tweet
Less than a year ago, a pastor at a local church and a CrossFit employee was fired for taking a stance on Twitter. Russell Berger, who was the company’s chief knowledge officer, tweeted in support of a CrossFit gym in Indianapolis, Indiana, where owners decided to cancel a workout in honor of Pride Month. While many employees and coaches decided to quit the gym, Berger only had words of encouragement for such a decision and went as far as calling LGBT pride celebrations a sin. It didn't take long before CrossFit announced that they fired Berger on Twitter.
Act like a bigot, get fired. This is not rocket science, kids. The guy acted like an a*s and got what he deserved.
He's srsly calling LGBTQ for intolerance...I'm blasted at how far some people can go in stupidity and intolerance for saying such an insane thing...
Load More Replies...In the LGBTQ ideology, it's acceptable not to tolerate intolerance. How terrible!
Yep. Who do they think they are? Wanting tolerance and equality and respect and all that? Outrageous!
Load More Replies...Why do these people think their view is just "an alternative view"? It's an alternate that says someone should be stoned then tortured forever simply because of who they love. How do they not see how terrible a view it is? How do they not see a god who would have this view is not loving?
My thoughts as well. If we are going to go by the Vocal Minority (a.k.a the loud-mouthed a******s) of most religious practitioners then most gods are actually a******s themselves. Though I believe the main reason they don't see it is because in their mind they are exactly what "God" wanted them to be and do.
Load More Replies...Much of what homophobes say is similar to what racists said 60 years ago. Hatred based on arbitrary, inherent traits is idiotic: it's like hating someone based on their shoe size.

Math Teacher From Colorado Was Fired For A Series Of Tweets And Racy Photos Online
Carly McKinney, a high school math teacher in Colorado came under fire after her social media posts caught the school board's attention. The photos shared on Twitter page "Carly Crunk Bear" showed the former teacher in some provocative situations, like smoking weed and appearing to be intoxicated or semi-nude. The social media posts got McKinney suspended at first, and later her employment was terminated. McKinney went on to defend herself, stating that the Twitter account was a parody and she never had drugs involved in her professional life. After her suspension, many students demanded her to be reinstated as many found her relatable and the board's decision unreasonable.
I think it is weird that a teacher can't do any stupid things at her/his spare time. When I was at school some teachers at my school did some really stupid things (like had a bar fight where one of the teachers got his rib broken, also one teacher had a serious gambling broblem) but still they were allowed to continue their work.
I agree! I don't understand this b******t where a teacher has to be a saint in every aspect of their life just because they work in a school. What someone does in their free time is entirely up to them, regardless of profession, as long as they don't endanger or hurt anyone in the process and as long as they keep it separate from their work.
Load More Replies...I don't mind what my teachers do in there free time but posting stuff like this is not smart
Before I started high school, a teacher was fired for spying on the girls changing for Phys Ed., and a couple of years after I left, another one was fired for trying to have sex with young girls. This teacher ain't got s**t on them.
"relatable" - "hey, she does drugs, just as we do!" most probably.
what kid says "just as we do"?
Load More Replies...Here's the thing- we have zero privacy now- I could not run for dog catcher and I am an average citizen. I have never posted naked, drunk fighting pix of me publicly- but guess what? what ever you EVER did- it is out there- you don't believe me, google your name - Some companies ask for your social media info- personally i would say screw you, i don't want your job that badly - but some folks accept it - And seriously- as a teacher- she should have known better-
To me, this isn't (at least just) about what she does on her own private time. If you are some kind of working professional, what you post on social media can go directly to your credibility as a professional. I am a lawyer. If you saw me post about going on half-nude weekend benders, would you hire me as your attorney? A few might. Most definitely wouldn't. And if you work for an employer, that lack of credibility will likely be attributed to your employer as well. And that can be incredibly embarrassing if you're trying to run a company or organization. But none of this means that you must be absolutely squeaky clean, flawlessly moral, and never make a mistake in your private life. JUST KEEP IT OFF SOCIAL MEDIA!!!! The whole world doesn't need to know about every goddamn thing you do, think, or that happens in your life. If you are a private individual as most of us are, it is still possible to have a private life. Just don't self-report it!
I live in Colorado and am a student.......hope my teachers aren’t like this!
CNN Fires Host And Author Reza Aslan For Calling Trump A "Piece Of [poop]" On Twitter
Reacting to Trump's response to 2017 London Bridge attack, producer and television host Reza Aslan took to Twitter to express his outrage. While many people, famous or not, have very strong opinions when it comes to the current President of the USA, CNN didn't take Aslan's descriptions of Trump too kindly and fired their employee. The news network wanted to make it clear what kind of speech, on or off-camera, they tolerate and approve off. Unfortunately for Aslan, calling Trump an "embarrassment to humankind" and "piece of [poop]" wasn't exactly welcome and had his documentary series "Believer" dropped from CNN.
CNN were afraid that the piece of [poop] was going to tell his followers that a certain news channel could do with a few lessons in respect if they hadn't fired him.
Lloyds Bank Worker Stephanie Bon Compared Her Salary To The CEO's In A Facebook Post That Had Her Fired
Stephanie Bon was an HR assistant for Lloyds Banking Group when she heard about António Horta-Osório's pay deal, a whopping £13.5million in salary. She aired her grievances in a Facebook post saying "LBG's new CEO gets £4,000 an hour. I get £7. That's fair." While it might not be fair at all, it also wasn't exactly smart to complain on a social media site where people could see it, especially your coworkers... or your boss. After the company became aware of the post, Bon was promptly escorted from the office and fired. The former employee thought their decision was ridiculous, saying that "[she] can't believe [she has] been treated so appallingly for what essentially amounts to a chat with [her] mates outside work".
How is this legal? She did not do anything that hurt the company, this is just mild criticism, she should be allowed to speak her mind about this.
Some information is confidential. If she breached that confidentiality clause, they could not only fire her but sue her as well. As an HR, you have access to a LOT of personal and confidential information, you're abusing of your position if you disclose that information.
Load More Replies...How dare she point out that the CEO makes almost 600x more than she does..
Please explain who the boss is and why his character is out of line. Be specific since you seem to have inside information.
Load More Replies...If the general public also knows about the CEO's pay package (and Stephanie's not releasing confidential information), then she shouldn't have been fired. Her post is simply stating the fact.
Nope- unfair- her page, her content- they were being nosey - I hope she sued them
I actually think she did nothing wrong. When these comparisons come up in the press, who could they fire? No-one. She didn't even put in enough cynicism for it to be critical.
Look me in the eye and tell me you truly believe the post wasn't critical. Sheesh.

Hayley Geftman-Gold was a vice president and senior legal counsel at CBS in New York when she wrote a comment on Facebook expressing her dislike for the Republicans — whom she called “Repugs”. While everyone's allowed to have their opinion, a lot of people felt Hayley crossed the line when she expressed lack of sympathy for the victims of the deadliest mass shooting committed by an individual in the history of the United States, by saying that they don't deserve it as most of them are 'Republican gun toters'. Following the public outrage, CBS responded by issuing a statement, declaring that Geftman-Gold was no longer their employee. Later, Hayley herself issued an apology, stating that she's “deeply sorry for diminishing the significance of every life affected”.
That was harsh, heartless and unnecessary. I don't blame CBS. I'd get as far away from her as I could too.
Yeah, I don't want someone like involved in big decisions at a media company. These young idiots posting every goddam random thought that comes into their heads online...hopefully the new generation will learn from their elder's mistakes and show a little restraint and decorum.
Load More Replies...That was a sick, heartless comment she made. First of all no one deserves to be murdered due to their politics, and second, she's judgmental. How the hell does she know if they were republicans?
The stereotypes are the problems. What do you mean 'all country music fans are republican gun toters'? Just because you like a certain type of music does not say anything about the rest of your personality. That was just rude.
She's right though. If they're not going to make any changes after six-year-olds get gunned down in their school, they're never going to do anything, ever. Everyone who supports the GOP just needs to be f*****g honest with themselves that their support does, and will, mean the deaths of countless innocent people.
Nah I can feel that. If those are the people that died then I’m cool with it. But you don’t know for sure that all those people that died felt that way.
You are ok with people dying if they have different political views from you??? People aren’t “sacks of s**t” just for having different opinions.

A Security Guard In A Florida Hospital Was Fired After Posting A Video Of Himself Farting On Instagram, Turned It Around And Became An Internet Fart Star
Last year, a Florida security guard known as Doug filmed himself farting over 75 times while at work and posted some of the footage to his Instagram account "Paul Flart". The account's description labels Doug as "The Fart Authority", though authorities at the hospital didn't take too kindly to the man's footage. Avid fan of immortalizing his life on video, he even filmed the moment he got fired, as a supervisor declared that he has violated company policy which prohibits using phones on the job and by filming himself wearing his security guard uniform on hospital grounds. Though while his security guard career was over, Doug didn't give up and starter a fundraiser where he said that his "goal is to be the first person to make a living off farting after getting fired from [his] job in a public manner". With his 104k Instagram followers, it seems that Doug is doing just fine!
"A Florida man..." Just from that information alone, you already know it's something super-stupid! LOL!
What is it with men and passing gas. Or any other body function for that matter?
like its not morally wrong but its just so gross....and irresponsible
Jesus no wonder he was fired. Massive privacy violations for the patients around him. This world is going to the idiots
Sociology Professor At The University Of Tampa, Kenneth L. Storey, Was Fired For A Tweet That Blamed Harvey On Gop Vote
In 2017, as the the costliest tropical cyclone on record, Hurricane Harvey, raged over the Southern states of the USA, Ken Storey shared some of his thought on Twitter. At the time Storey was a visiting assistant sociology professor in the University of Tampa, though as soon as the university higher-ups learned about his hot takes online, the man's time at the school was over. What exactly got him the boot? It was public outrage over his tweet, where the man expressed that he believed the people of Texas deserved the devastation that Harvey brought simply for voting Republican. Well, Harvey might not have been instant karma, but Storey surely received a good taste of it. Later, he issued an apology on his Twitter: "I deeply regret a statement I posted yesterday. I never meant to wish ill will upon any group. I hope all affected by Harvey recover quickly."
You know what the dumbest part about that is? Houston votes Democratic. So many people were saying stuff like that during Harvey.
How is that any different than Christians claiming “homosexuals are being punished with earthquakes, etc”???
I took his meaning differently. The GOP regularly underfunds and undervalues all natural disasters. This one is no different. People are still rebuilding. Congress has not sent it's aid. And tRump has slashed FEMA's budget. He's right.
I don’t think that anyone is basing their Republican vote off of their desire to see disaster relief defunded.

f*****g idiot. I hope I never meet him/her, because if I do, we gonna have issuessssss. My Grandma lives in Texas, and she has cancer. The only reason she and the rest of my family in Texas are still alive is because they had to evacuate. Their house is completely gone. Almost three years later, here we are and they still haven't finished their house.
It's like this idiot doesn't realize that Houston is Democrat... including myself.
Houston had more Clinton votes, blame rual Texas that is still mostly red, and dry. Or better yet, dont link weather with politics.
I mean, it's true. Republicans are now the deniers of climate change and increasingly supporters of pollution, considering the EPA is now headed by someone who doesn't want to protect the environment, but wants to protect companies from having to spend money to protect the environment. Anyone who has voted Republican in the past 10 years gets what they deserve wrt climate-related disasters.
Really? People deserve to have their lives and homes destroyed for being incorrect about climate change?

2011 was truly the year when people first discovered the dangers social media could have for your job. Ashley Payne was one of them. She lost her job as a high school teacher after some parents complained about her photos on Facebook. In a photo from her holiday to Europe, Payne is holding two drinks in both hands. Seems quite innocent? Well, not innocent enough for the head teacher. She was given a choice to resign or to be suspended, of which she chose the former. Payne later tried to get her job back by suing the school, but ultimately lost the legal battle.
Me n'either. A teacher is allowed to drink alcohol, there is nothing in this picture that encourages alcohol abuse at all, it's just a fun holiday photo. It's not like she had 3 whole bottles of wine or talked about getting totally hammered, it's just 2 drinks.
Load More Replies...This makes me so angry. Unfortunately, she did a few things that eventually resulted in losing this legal battle. First, she friended a student on her Facebook page, this gave them access to these photos. Second, a parent complained and the school board allegedly told Ms. Payne that she could either resign or be suspended, she resigned. Because she chose to resign, she legally didn't have the right to sue the school, so she lost the case.
As a teacher it gets really touchy about what you post on FB. I am rarely too bothered about what I say in comments, but would never post any images that may be misconstrued or twisted against me. Also all of my images are always kept private to friends now. Most of my images also hardly ever include me in them as I am the photographer mostly.
Load More Replies...So the parents of these angelic kids don't drink? They don't like to have fun? They don't ever travel and let loose? Maybe losing her job at this snobby school was a blessing in disguise.
I think it was that the parents realised that they could have had a fun life like Ashley had, if they never had the angelic kids in the first place.
Load More Replies...Wait... she's of legal age... drinking is a legal activity... she has all her clothes on and isn't doing anything vulgar... what's the issue here?
So an adult woman can not post pictures of holding alcohol when she is a teacher? I would understand if the picture was taken at school during schoolhours but really...
I get some of these, but people seriously need to get their heads out their asses and stop being so offended by every damn thing.
Yet our President can tweet about name calling, racism and outright lies, yet he still retains his job... Go figure.

The take-away is don't post on social media. Very few people care what you think, and there is always someone who will find a way to be offended or upset at your post, no matter how cute or innocuous.
Well, not really. I get when people do something bad but now you can't live your life at all? I mean maybe if she was drinking 3 drinks through tube and looked like being on drugs too but come on.
