24 New Uncomfortable Illustrations This Artist Created About Animal Cruelty
Interview With Artist"Milk Dong Comics," created by Taiwanese artist Milk Dong (pseudonym), has gained popularity on Instagram with over 74,600 followers. The artist addresses serious topics like animal cruelty, environmentalism, social injustice, etc.
By tackling these sensitive issues, they hope to amplify the voices of the voiceless and encourage compassion and action. Therefore, that's exactly why the artist's unique blend of visuals and narratives creates some rather thought-provoking content with a powerful message about the plight of animals and the need for change in our current society.

They should make one like this for unhealthy breeds, like all the smashed-face dogs with bulging eyes
Most brachycephalic breeds REQUIRE caesarian sections to birth their puppies, as they CANNOT give birth naturally due to the size of the puppies' skulls vs the mother's birth canal. These breeds CANNOT give birth naturally any more. Without a C-section, mother AND pups will DIE. One study showed 93% of Boston Terrier bitches required C-sections, 86% of Bulldogs, and 81% of French Bulldogs. These breeds CANNOT REPRODUCE NATURALLY. We need to STOP breeding brachycephalic breeds.
Load More Replies...Some ppl try to bred more healthy variants of brachycephalic breeds. Like retropugs (pugs + jack russell terrier). At least they can breath, I am not so sure if they do still have problems with giving birth. https://www.thegoodypet.com/retro-pug-a-complete-guide-to-this-pug-breed
I think they're working on making the breed healthier as a whole, it'll probably just take a long time to breed out the worst of the issues
Load More Replies...I feel like being pure blooded for dogs wouldn't be so bad if they would actually do the breeding from outside of said dogs immediate family circle.
Given the chance, once again Bored Panda reached out to Milk Dong, the artist behind the powerful and thought-provoking comic/illustration series "HEY HUMAN, SEE WHAT YOU DO!?"
When asked about his process and how he decides which issues to highlight in his illustrations, he responded, "For the 'HEY HUMAN, SEE WHAT YOU DO!?' series, my process starts from a deep dive into news, research papers, and documentaries. I'm always learning about new issues facing the animal kingdom and our planet. I feel a surge of emotion - anger, sadness, frustration - and that emotion fuels my art. I decide what to highlight based on the urgency and relevance of the issue. I hope to give voice to the voiceless in real-time."
Anyone who looks up actual wild Orca information would never think that they should be an animal we steal as babies and make perform tricks in tiny tanks with not nearly enough mental stimulation! Orcas are TERRIFYING! They are rightly called "wolves of the sea". They are smart and CALCULATING, their favorite pastime is violence, and it's surprising that there hasn't been MORE human death by them in captivity.
One sunday, a pod of orcas swam up to my brother's ocean swim team, leaving after a few minutes. They were only a few metres away in their black wetsuits, looking pretty seal-like and no one was attacked. I would say they are smart and curious but I would not say they love violence. It is horrible that they are performers in some terrible people's shows and the worst part is, there be a demand for show's like that.
Load More Replies...This is a viewpoint I haven't heard and I can't tell if you are joking. Maybe dolphins DO love playing but staying in a tiny tank for the rest of their lives? Being held prisoner? People standing on their heads? Being taken from their home and families?
Load More Replies...This needed some context for me, so I went and searched. Seems like a pregnant elephant was wounded a few years ago in India, by a pineapple filled with firecracker. As a result she couldn't eat anymore and starved to death... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-52918603
Sometimes I wish "an eye for an eye" was still a thing, and animal cruelty was judged as if it were human.
Load More Replies...Don't mess with elephants they NEVER forgot. They will kill them find your funeral and trample u again.
Regarding personal experiences with animal cruelty, the artist revealed a painful incident that ignited his advocacy. "Yes, I have witnessed incidents of animal cruelty that deeply affected me. Once, I saw a stray dog being ill-treated by some boys in my neighborhood. I felt so helpless and angry. I think that moment sparked the idea of using art to raise awareness about such issues. My drawings are my protest against injustice."
ok this one makes me sadder than i should be because my cat got run over with a car yesterday.
This brings back far too much trauma for me... I've lost so many cats to cars and other things 😭
I've hit an animal in the road twice while desperately trying to brake and swerve to avoid it. Sometimes they just move too unpredictability for a good driver to handle. :'( One turned out fine (I stopped and tracked down its owner,) and the other, a wild bird, sadly was clearly killed on impact. I still feel terrible every time I remember what I saw in my rearview mirror. Just saying this to remind people that not every roadkill is the result of an evil or negligent human. Some of us are still feeling guilty about swerving the wrong direction to this day.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately, the lack of warning is part of the point trying to be made.
Load More Replies...No brains,no morals (commonly mistaken for bollocks), rotten fruit of the rotten tree.
Load More Replies...They invade villages to get easy meals. Also, population control to limit the deaths of rhinos, gazelles and other creatures. It's like killing bears when they're attacking people and causing destruction of the ecosystem by bears overhunting of endangered animals. Hunting lions provide funding for poorer countries in order to compete with richer countries in order to be able to buy foods to feed the country, and that is why when we're dealing with shortages, poorer countries suffer more, because they need the money to compete in the bidding.
For the funding part, I'm sure that other ways existed, even if harder to do. About invading villages... The villages are on their natural habitat! Humans can move to another place, they can't! For population control, nature does that without the help of humanity. If it can't now, it's surely because humans messed up the food chain (yet again)! Before humans, their ancestors weren't hunted and there was no overpopulation, because nature made sure of that! In nature, everything has its purpose, that is, until humans intervene.
Load More Replies...Despite having worked in various industries for survival, the artist never gave up on art. He discussed how these jobs influenced his work. "I have worked in various jobs, each job taught me something different. For example, being a waiter taught me patience, being a fishmonger gave me insights into commercial fishing. All these experiences broadened my perspective on life and society, and this definitely seeped into my art. My varied experiences have helped me illustrate the connection between different aspects of our society and their impact on the natural world."
Y'all dissing on fireworks saying it's stupid and s**t but it's really a form of art when it's done well. Have you ever seen asian fireworks performances? They're a sight to behold. In the same way a music show would hurt animals' ears a lot, but I don't see anybody complaining about those.
Or wind turbines killing birds but no talk of that also.
Load More Replies...Shoulda been a bat. I was just wondering last night like how do they cope and how does it affect them?
Because big sparkle sky boom make monkey brain go brrrrrr. Humans are....annoyingly odd and stupid.
It's not Just animals but sufferers of ptsd and anxiety such as veterans who have trouble too
the dress is making me wonder if the bird got anxious and starting plucking out its own feathers.
Sea turtles are biologically programmed to return to the beach where they hatched, to lay their eggs. Sadly most beach these days are open for tourists, with lots of lights & noises which scares sea turtles. So it's difficult for the to find a place to lay eggs safely
Load More Replies...When baby sea turtles hatch at night they head for the brightest horizon which ought to be moonlight reflecting off the ocean next to the beach they hatched on. Except these days it is often the city behind them, so they get lost, get eaten, get squashed, etc. Some cities near sea turtle beaches have made low-light ordinances for hatching season. In some places volunteers stand out at night with barricades and try to redirect the baby turtles. And in some places, the baby turtles just die by the hundreds.
AHA SO FUNNY HOW WE DESTROY THEM LETS KEEP F****N UP THE PLANET AND ANIMAL ALL HAIL SATAN
Well we won’t die if we turn the lights off, but they do because we wont
Load More Replies...The artist also shared about his love for animals, particularly dogs, and how their mistreatment impacts his work. "I feel a special connection with all animals, but dogs have a special place in my heart. I own a couple of dogs, and they're my companions, my friends. The mistreatment of dogs, particularly in puppy mills or as part of the illegal dog meat trade, deeply distresses me and has influenced my work."
@Malfar we all do all of those things and we shouldn’t be stealing from nature
@Malfar they are animals. And humans are jerks half the time. Leave the poor animals alone.
Load More Replies...These superlative illustrations break my heart and cause my to breathe funny (not good 🥺).
and destroy the ocean and eventually the whole planet while you're at it.
Really good point. Oil tankers don't deliberately spill their oil-- that's just lost profits for them,so believe me, they do everything they can to prevent it. It's our demand for oil and all the comforts it powers that put all these transport ships in the oceans. And our decision to vote against green energy at elections .
Load More Replies...Finally, when asked about what he hopes his followers will do after they see his illustrations, Milk Dong said, "I hope my illustrations will make people pause and think. I want them to question their actions and choices, their consumer habits. I hope they understand the message behind each illustration and take steps towards change. Be it adopting a vegan lifestyle, stopping the use of products tested on animals, or even reporting cases of animal abuse, every small action counts. I hope my art sparks that change."
We find the words 'dog or cat owner' quite normal. We love them, take good care of them, look after them. But when you think about it, it's kind of weird that we're the only species on this planet that keep other species captive for our own pleasure and entertainment. Of course dogs and cats like to stay with us; we give them safety, love and food and drink. But other species, we don't know. They can't talk. (No, my cat can't talk!) We have to look at ourselves. And see what we do, instead of putting our pleasures first.
I worked hands on with this particular kind of cruelty (parrots being stuffed into water bottles or pvc pipes and smuggled) . It was heartbreaking
By that you mean worked with the police or something... Right?
Load More Replies...What's really sick and twisted? I read about a decade ago of a test done in Britain. They took jackets with fake fur and tested the fur. Wasn't fake. Cat and dog fur if I remember right. Used to be happy buying jackets with fake fur. Not anymore. It's cheaper in China to use the real stuff, apparently. I don't buy real fur clothing. Leather yes because it comes from critters I eat. But killing an animal just for fur? Unun. But pretending it's fake? Insane.
Their fur was no good for clothes but used for shaving brushes.
Load More Replies...🥺 I didn't know cute little badgers were used for fur coats! That's awful!
Also minks and ermines. They are all cute fellas. Unfortunately for them with a fluffy fur.
Load More Replies...While I have phobia of some insects, I know that they are valuable to nature. And it's not their fault that my brain sees them as a threat anyway.
Honeybees are vectors, and they should be removed from US, because they're native to Europe. They're like the Europeans giving smallpox blankets to American Indians: every flower a sick honeybee touches spreads the disease to the native pollinators, killing them off. They are also mediocre pollinators... Flies are better pollinators than honeybees. When you talk about native pollinators like beetles, bats, bumblebees and solitary bees.... Yes we should use the IPM and use beneficial insects to reduce the pests.
Without flies there would be dead stuff rotting everywhere, animals don't eat everything and flies help with that. Spiders eat flies so there's not too many flies, wasps eat spiders so there's not too many spiders, birds eat wasps so there's not too many wasps. Every animal and insect has a purpose.
Let’s give people the taste of their own medicine by skinning them and use it for “fashion”.
We shouldn't give rabbits and hamsters as gifts. Especially not to young children who get bored easily and, don't know how to take care of them.
THIS. I asked for a dog for years. My parents finally decided to give me one. On Christmas morning, I looked under the tree, and there I I saw the best Christmas gift I'd ever seen-- a leash and a bowl. The next week, my parents took me to shelters to pick out a dog. We all knew the level of commitment we were getting into, and we didn't stress out our new pet by shoving her into the middle of Christmas celebrations. She lived a good life for many years and it was after many visits to the vet that we finally had to say goodbye. Remembering that bowl and leash under the Christmas tree fills my heart and makes me tear up just as strongly as it would have if a living dog had been under there. Plus, I got to pick out exactly the dog I wanted, and I got to meet her first so we knew she liked me. Please do right by the animal-- if you want the Wow factor of an animal gift, present a leash or a cute cardboard doghouse or something.
Load More Replies...Rabbits are not the easiest pets--and they often get turned into the SPCA after Easter. If your family wants a rabbit, make sure you understand the implications and care required.
I can agree with this. My ex had rabbits that I ended up taking care of medically because they got sick and he couldn't afford their bills. One of the rabbits cost me damn near $5,000 in vet bills in the three years I knew her until she died at 13 from cancer
Load More Replies...I heard that these "Easter gifts" are often fed candy and carrots by ignorant and or spoiled kids. The candy backs them up and carrots are actually really sugary and should only be fed as treats
No it's not the ignorant and or spoiled kids that are the problem it's the parents who allow this.
Load More Replies...I got a guinea-pig for my 8th birthday, second a few months later. Guess it was no good idea as 25 years later I have thirteen of those, never been without one ever since. I'm fine with parents gifting their children a pet - as long as they teach their kids responsibility and watch them taking care for it in a proper way.
I’m ashamed to admit it, but my parents made this mistake with me, twice. We had two rabbits, couldn’t afford the space they needed, so we just used the tiny equipment we had leftover from hamsters…I was less than 10, so I didn’t know any better. But never again.
Pets stores in my area halt sales of rabbits during Easter. Some people are cruel because they're too stupid to know better; others are cruel because they don't have basic compassion. Buying a rabbit for that picture perfect Easter without thinking it through that you will have to care for this animal for 7 year requires both of these failings. What kind of stupid, heartless person do you have to be to do this?

I love Beluga whales. No, they should not be kept to “perform” they should be free.
You also seem to like attention. But would you like to be imprisoned and conditioned to perform in order to get it? Maybe they like the attention because they are not in their natural habitat and are bored out of their mind
Load More Replies...I recently learned that a wolf's territory is naturally 10 square miles... Almost no area of American wilderness is left that is 10 square miles without being interrupted by some kind of road, building, or town.
Woods or rain forests plowed/bull dozed down without second thoughts.
On another note... that lioness is absolutley stunning! Shes so beautiful!!
According to the artist's Instagram, this is a tigress XD But they didn't add stripes, so we can't tell @_@
Load More Replies...There's a great comic that raises awareness about ocean pollution called The Little Trashmaid. It's about a mermaid who lives in an ocean so choked with trash that she's wearing 7-11 bags as clothes, eating cigarette butts, etc. Y'all should def check it out.
A camel can work all day without drinking. A man can drink all day without working. But in all seriousness why is a camel working in the first place 🙁
Ok, actually this one is interesting. If they’re treated well, I don’t object to pack camels any more than I do pack horses or donkeys. Lots of camels are specifically bred as pack animals. As long as you’re not whipping them, and letting them drink and rest frequently, I think it’s ok to use them as pack animals.
Load More Replies...I get what you're saying. While you acknowledge animal abuse is bad, some people take care of their work animals as well as a good pet owner cares for a pet.
Load More Replies...God created the animals for the use of humans. We are to care and protect them, but they are ours to be used as we see fit as long as we take care of them.
God didn't create anything. Much less for human use.
Load More Replies...Apparently people are calling me a liar. Before anyone else gets stupid go look for yourself.Pigs are used in a lot of research. There’s literally hundreds of articles.I’ll even dumb it down for Morgan.Look up PIGS USED IN RESEARCH and see what pops up.I’m a lot of things a liar ain’t one of them.Pigs are used often for “replacement”of a human body for experiments for seeing what happens to a body in a high speed collision.look it up there’s stories about how it works.the pigs are dead so please don’t worry.hope this helps 😊
Load More Replies...Because they're endangered and people don't want them to go extinct
Adding to this, we're also trying to protect them from a*holes who couldn't care less about extinction, only money
Load More Replies...For pandas and ONLY pandas ...they are literal idiots. They unalive themselves frequently because they are so dumb. The would have unalived themselves into extinction if not for breeding programs and such. But I do agree that they should be in sanctuaries, not tiny zoo enclosures
To protect from other humans who would want to kill you because your fur is pretty and your bones ground into dust help with erection.
Okay this one I gotta combat, they're in zoos because they are literally incapable of being an animal 💀 they can't even shag without human help
If that were true, they wouldn't ever have survived as a species and we'd never known they existed. Of course they can mate by themselves. However, humans have destroyed both large parts of their original population and they habitats. Additionally, the remaining habitats are fragmented and mutually separated. That means not enough pandas find each other anymore in nature, so not enough of them are able to mate.
Load More Replies...That's not the reason. Giant Pandas are solitary creatures who only come together to mate. As the HUMAN population has cut down so much of the pandas' natural habitat, they've become so isolated, that they cannot manage to get to another panda in time to mate. A female Giant Panda is only in Estes for 5 days. With the areas of their habitats being so few and far in between, it's simply not possible for pandas to reproduce in the wild. And it's all because of HUMANS.
Load More Replies...Because you're too stupid to take care of yourself. And too homosexual to continue existing
You forgot to say humans are the reason why, but okay.
Load More Replies...Not sure, but I think it is referring to how rats are used to find unexploded landmines and people who are trapped under debris after earthquakes but are seen as vermin and generally disliked
Load More Replies..."A Tanzanian social enterprise founded by two Belgians, APOPO ("Anti-Personnel Landmines Removal Product Development" in English), trains the southern giant pouched rat (Cricetomys ansorgei) to detect land mines and tuberculosis with their highly developed sense of smell. The trained pouched rats are called HeroRATS."
Load More Replies...Rodent testing before human testing. Sad, but who would we experiment on? I guess volunteers or pay people to be guinea pigs.
Why? People can consent, rodents and other animals can't. Human testing always.
Load More Replies...Apopo is an NGO that trains Gambian pouched rats to detect landmines in order to clear fields and allow people to return to the land safely after a conflict. That is what this image is depicting.
Did you know that more vending machines kill humans every year than sharks do? And we sontinue to kill the sharks
Not trying to be a jerk... But nothing will change. People are animals and users. A few try to protect, but the majority are a-holes.
This is unfortunately true. The people who don't care outnumber the people who do

I haven't eaten meat in almost 14 years. I only wear clothes made from plant and synthetic fibers. I don't drive cars. I put a lot of real work into trying to not be a damaging factor to my environment. That said, I can name 100 ways my lifestyle is damaging to the environment, and living in a way that is actually beneficial is basically impossible. Righteous indignation is easy, making your own clothes from fibers you grew, and only eating fruits and vegetables that you grew, or foraged (although foraging is potentially taking food from animal and insect life, so that's tricky) isn't easy.
There are so many of these that i never knew existed, its so sad what happens to these poor creatures, it fills me with so much rage I want to hurt the people that do this to them😡😡
