There actually is a Japanese live action series of Sailor Moon, and the actresses don't look like this. This picture is beautiful and skilfully done, but a pair of narrow eyes does not equal real. ♡

I really like this one. If the buns were drawn like this, it would have saved me hours Getting ready.

Probably how she looks in the artist's imagination, more or less :-)

My favorite. This is so beautiful, and makes me wonder why the original had to "whiten" up the characters.

Ever seen a "white" person with natural blue hair like Sailor Mercury? Those characters were not "whitened", they're just magical, it's the imagination of Naoko Takeuchi and her style. Please, let's respect that.

this is it, this is an authentic asian (japanese) look, everything else is just more so caucasian looking with bog eyes. this is the image manga artist should be drawing instead of the bubble eyed people.

An artist "should" be drawing whatever inspires them. Don't patronise Japanese comic artists.

Come on. Really? Caucasian coloring, Caucasian blue eyes, BLOND HAIR, Asian eyes. Why? Yeah, I know Asian created character. She was never designed to look Asian. I don’t like it when they whitewash Asian characters in movies, so why make a Caucasian character look Asian. Stupid.

The true problem here is not the ethnical face features of the character, she was not designed to look like a real person to start with. The picture itself isn't a problem either, unless the artist had certain motivations (which, apparently, isn't the case). The real problem here is the perception of the audiences. The plain "narrow eyes = east Asian" mentality, no different than the blackface thing, really.

No wonder this character design challenge is so popular. People are reliving their childhoods and recreating one of the most iconic female figures in anime. The fun part is that everyone is creating artwork in their unique style: some create cute, some funny, some go all out and create an image fit to be in a remake of the anime.

Artists From Around The World Challenged Themselves To Draw The Heroine Sailor Moon In Their Own Style

GTcockroach Report

This challenge celebrates everyone's unique drawing style as well as the classic TV show that we all know and love. Some artists even put other well-known characters instead of Sailor Moon into their cool drawings. That includes Goku from 'Dragon Ball,' Saitama from 'One-Punch Man,' and even Sonic The Hedgehog.

What do you think about this challenge? Maybe you would like to participate? If you want to see more recreations, go to the hashtag and enjoy! Don't forget to vote for your favorite ones and leave a comment.

I hope this never becomes real, lego needs to make more original ideas instead of just turning everything lego.

Oooh I like this one, especially the broken heart choker. I don't know why this reminds me of Blood the last Vampire but for some reason it does. Probably the red.
