30 Of The Worst Work Safety Examples Ever, As Shared In An Online Group Dedicated To Them (New Pics)
There are many things that can go wrong at work. But as far as your health and safety goes, your employer has to protect you and tell you about health and safety issues that may affect you. Workplace risk factors include but are not limited to chemicals, biological agents, physical factors, adverse ergonomic conditions, allergens, and psychosocial factors.
From making sure there are enough first-aid resources to minimizing potential risks at all costs, these are the least employees can do. And if not, the chances are they will get busted on the r/OSHA subreddit, which is entirely dedicated to reminding people to stay safe at work. Borrowing its name from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the community's description says “Safety First!” and its 745k members mean it.
So let’s see what kind of workplace disasters waiting to happen they came up with right below and make sure to check out our previous posts on r/OSHA here and here.

Just Started As The Safety Guy Of A New Plant. We've Got A Little Ways To Go...
Previously, Bored Panda reached out to the moderator -eDgAR- who was happy to share some insights on the r/OSHA community. The mod said that the online community is meant to be lighthearted, where everyone can come for a laugh at how ridiculous some people can be.
"It's not meant to be a place for serious discussions about safety, although oftentimes comments can actually get into great analysis about the issues shown in posts, which is great," they commented. However, unlike other subreddits, "we don't get a crazy amount of posts and have seen days with only a handful of posts. If you're one of the lucky first, chances are you'll get to the top," -eDgAR- explained.

Too bad if a spark hit the paper and lit it on fire. Your whole face could get burnt.
What Not To Do
No chips, heavy surface rust on the machine surface. I wonder how long that mill has been out of service.

The whole set up is terrible, but then you scroll down and see the forklift driver is also holding a baby. o.0
I know, right? And they even put a hard hat on the baby as if that would keep him safe. *facepalm*
Load More Replies...And I am certain the infant assisting in the operation of the forklift is OSHA certified.
The main problem with this is that the box does not appear to be strapped down. If it were strapped, or built on a pallet I wouldn't be quite as worried. The bigger concern is the baby the lift-diver is holding.
Load More Replies...Umm how about the baby being held by the "responsible" adult driving...🤦♀️
Take a step back and consider the existence of BP itself and ask the same question - you gotta admit that it's existence is pretty f*****g nonsensical - then carry on doing stupid s**t and lamenting that stupid s**t happens.
Load More Replies...The guy driving the fork lift has a baby on his lap. The stupid is strong in this family.
OMG... And is that the DAD doing the driving.... Oh Lord - you can't fix stupid I guess.
Absolutely no way they are gonna survive this unscathed 😱 Bonus points gor the forklift driver having a baby on his lap. I hope they have cute, matching caskets picked out for the funeral 😝
All the girls in this thread trying to make their own dreams of marriage and how it will happen which has been obsessed over for decades seem rational and something to be valued by comparison...
You just gotta love the decoration on the forklift. And the guy driving it holding a child. I wonder who had this brilliant (not) dream of a wedding.
People just don't realize how dangerous these machines are, IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. Oh, its so cute, it's small as a go-cart - but it weighs more than your car, has multiple blind spots, is top-heavy, will tip over if someone facts in the machine's general direction, has NO traction - so many f**king ways it can murder you.
Imagine them looking back 10 years from now and say “ what were we thinking “ heck I give them 2 years
Funny idea, poor execution. And possible execution for bride and groom
And the driver has a baby in his arms, like he doesn't have enough to worry about...
The inevitable blood and screaming will ruin the illusion though.
What about bubs being held by dad on forklift, he wont look good if his run over !!!!

Load More Replies...These all look like things my boss would do. He seriously believes safety regulations are a political thing that liberals invented to hurt small businesses. He's had his brain rotted by right wing "news" outlets.
My theme song for 98% of these is "nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, heey, goodbye!"
Oh, there are big hefty fines in the U.S. too. A few of these do appear to be in other countries tho, and a few are DIY jobs.
