If our civilization suddenly perished for some reason, and archaeologists from the distant future began excavating the first quarter of the 21st century, what would they be able to say about our culture if most of it is on the internet and, to be absolutely precise, in memes?
Memes do permeate our lives literally everywhere, and if you remember the notorious Rule 34, then today there should be a version of it that says: "There is a meme of it. Thanks for the warning. I've never recorded myself sleeping but I have been recorded sleeping, while I was partaking in a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. I apparently don't stop breathing enough times per night to qualify for a CPAP mask, which is fine with me because I never wanted one in the first place, lol. I suggest you never work in that field if your own noises you made while sleeping disturbed you.

To be honest, I don't quite agree with the very name 'Sadistic memes' - after all, most of the memes we selected for this list don't have anything downright horrifyingly sadistic. But, well, 672K followers on the Instagram page have a weighty say - in favor of proper naming and hilarious memes.

My husband came in the room the other day looking really pensive and said, "I think I did something bad.". I turned into that cat immediately. Turns out, there was a stunned squirrel on the side of the road from a close call with a car (I think it got knocked around) and my husband was concerned he'd wander into the road, so he brought him home, made him a nest in a milk crate, gave him some water and peanut butter and let him rest up. Squirrel slept all night, we were going to bring him to a small rehab place in town the next morning, but he was frisky, rested and ready to go by then. Hub brought him outside and he happily hopped out on the wood pile, seemed to say thanks, then left. But that whole, "I think I did something bad" really made me clench, lol.

Yes. After 70 years on this earth, I finally realized it is no the cold that depresses me about winter. It is the short daylight hours. Say what you will about daylight savings time. I prefer the days that the sun does not set until 9 PM.

I need that for all my horses. Horses might look sturdy, but they have a very sensitive digestive system and they can't throw up so if they eat something that doesn't agree with them they can easily die.

Of course, this is not so. Each person has their own, completely unique and inimitable sense of humor (and some do not have one at all), and you still need to focus on some average level of humor. The resulting meme should not be too highbrow (many folks won't get it), but it should not be frankly dumb (then hardly anyone will like it). A well-balanced idea is the key to success not only in life but also in meme-making as well.

However, guessing the viral potential of a meme is as hopeless as trying to throw a hail mary in the last seconds of a football match. Why, for example, did the meme about a black and blue (or still white and gold?) dress become popular worldwide, while thousands of other, no less interesting and funny memes didn't? I think science has yet to figure this out - and when it does, a Nobel Prize for this discovery is almost guaranteed!

Spent 30 years in wildfire. Every fire season when we get even a small fire in the area I avoid talking to people or change the topic when it comes up. Man! Oh, I love that radioactive sweet & sour sauce. S&S chicken is my favorite Chinese meal. I get such a craving for it, but my local place constantly burns tf out of the chicken. It's very strange. Waiting for the comments about how science has debunked sugar affecting kids in this way. One of my grandkids absolutely got more hyper (and often more destructive) after sugar. We didn't have to see him ingest it to know he had - later confirmed by him or his siblings. The others, not nearly so much. Seems to vary by kid.

Was he possibly ADD/ADHD? My daughter was/is ADHD and certain foods would set her off. Also, different sweeteners affected her differently. White sugar was bad, but she could have Raw Sugar (although in small amounts). Son is almost 7 years older and suger never really affected him, but corn syrup made him emotional and angry.
