"When I was a kid, one of my dream jobs was becoming a newspaper cartoonist. By the time I finished college, newspapers were dying and my dream job was dying along with them. But at the same time, the internet was growing. I kept drawing comics and putting them on the internet for anyone to see. A few years later, I was able to quit my day job and live off of just my cartooning income. I stopped chasing my dream job but it came back and found me," the hero of this article, Chris Hallbeck, first introduced himself on Bored Panda.

I used to think time was the most valuable resource in the universe. Since becoming a parent I've realized it is in fact sleep. Extra time doesn't do me any good unless I get extra sleep as well!

My goodness, if I could stop time to sleep, I would do two things: 1) get a lot more done 2) never tell my employer
Chris started cartooning back in high school. He used to draw a character named Biff to entertain his best friend, which later turned into single-panel comics during college. Later on, the artist decided to share his work on the web, and having experienced some ups and downs, he is now a very well-known artist.

Chris has been publishing comics on the internet since 2006 with his single-panel comic The Book of Biff, followed by his multi-panel strip Maximumble. He's also the co-creator of Library Comic, which for the time being has more than 75k followers on Instagram!

One of Chris' earliest influences was the classic Peanuts, which he read hundreds of times. As he matured, he read Bloom County, Calvin & Hobbes, and The Far Side. He has many favorites in terms of webcomics, like Chainsaw Suit, Broodhollow, Gunshow Comic, Nedroid, Invisible Bread, and Left-Hand Cartoons, just to mention a few.

One of my twins (almost 2) has started waking me up around 3 am: "Get up! Mama!" she won't accept that it's still night time. I can calm her down by putting on animal documentaries on my phone, but she usually won't go back to sleep until it's almost 5... I've tried everything, but I guess I'll just have to live with it...

Take a friend, who's got no short term memory, out to lunch at a tea room style cafe. When the coffee and cake arrive first (whilst they are preparing the main course) and are eaten, then forgotten, you get second dessert

I actually prefer it when other people don't like my favourites... I sat down with my 70% bitter chocolate one afternoon, thinking my then-1-year-old twins wouldn't like it anyway after they'd try a bite... Welp, I had to split every piece of chocolate into three pieces, and they just wouldn't stop! Now I have to eat my chocolate in secret... They also love eating grapefruit, raw garlic, spring onions and marzipan. Nothing is safe!!!

This is why I never listen to reviews. Movie studios pay critics for good reviews. I thought Meet the Spartans was going to be a great movie based on the reviews, but it turned out to be a 2 hour homosexual joke. People were bashing the female Ghostbusters movie, but I liked it.
