30 Screenshots Of People Who Caught Others Shamelessly Spreading Lies On The Internet And Stepped In To Shut Them Up
There’s only so much nonsense one person can handle. And just because the internet is not guarded by BS-detecting police, that doesn’t mean one can share it without hesitation. Especially if it misinforms, spreads fakery, or takes advantage of a situation.
The corner of the subreddit “Quit Your Bull,” which is home to 1.6 million members, is dedicated to collecting such bittersweet examples. From Elon Musk busting his alleged “brain coach” to the American Kennel Club calling out a false ad that claims that a particular type of dog breed is recognized as dangerous by AKC, these are some of the screenshots that got karma restored.
And next time someone claims you can say whatever you want online, tell them to try and see what happens. Hint: nothing good will ever come of this.

Someone Is Awfully Busy With So Many Careers!
And even then, this person had to come up with working 72 hours a week (which is highly illegal), to make the numbers work :'). Just sad.
Exactly -- everyone can live on minimum wage if only they work nonstop.
Load More Replies...Besides, If a boss can't pay a proper living wage then he deserves to go out of business because you can't run a business when you sack the staff
You must always keep track of your lies, so you do not contradict yourself... Or just don't lie, it works too.
And also... they haven't raised the minimum wage, so why is the boss firing him?
That's pretty common, actually. When Obamacare was enacted, businesses began rapidly shedding workers before it could take effect. Its a shyte thing to do.

Anyway, because of this TikTok, too many of her followers went on the restaurant's page and left bad reviews to support her not realizing that what they were doing was not just wrong, it's utterly unethical, even illegal maybe?
I hate this sort of person! There is one on our area that leaves rubbish Google reviews for every food business in the area that isn't their own. Now they've started on other businesses.

Maybe the person who posted the original wasn’t technically full savvy. So I can cut them some slack. I for one didn’t know about the 100mbs speed, but I have just double checked this information and they are not wrong. Although in ideal conditions you could go up to 300mbs.

Nobody was born BS-proof. We've all lied, said nonsense, regretted it, or maybe not. Sometimes the nonsense we shared did no harm to us or people around, and sometimes it really paid off. Like, white lies. These incredible little lies hold half honesty, half false chaos that spins the world around us.
It's a whole different story when we encounter serious lies. Like anti-vaxxers spreading false beliefs against Covid vaccinations on social media. In such cases, a lie targets the most vulnerable people of society who, for the lack of better information, find themselves in genuine belief that what they’re reading is pure truth.
Bored Panda reached out to Scott Berkun, the author of eight popular books on creativity, design, leadership and public speaking who was happy to share his insights on dealing with someone else’s BS. According to him, the first thing to tackle it is to expect it. “Fire alarms are good at detecting fires because they are always expecting them. We say some people have good BS detectors for the same reason. They’ve seen it enough times to sense it before the rest of us do.”
Idk How Restaurants Deal With All The Anti-Masker Bs Right Now
Having a person with lung cancer working 12 hours is not a cool employer. She should be on medical leave, like we have in 1st world countries.
Load More Replies...I am incapable of understanding why in "america" is optional to wear a mask. Why do people put up with morons who don't wear a mask in a pandemic, and even more so, if you have a "health conditions" that makes it uncomfortable for you to wear a mask, what are you doing at a bar in the middle of a pandemic? Some people should just die.
I would say I'm comfortable enough to refuse to wear a mask. I get panic attacks from claustrophobia when I feel my own breath against my face and masks make me extremely uncomfortable after very short periods of time. I still wear them, I go outside and take it off and breathe deep if I have to. So discomfort in the issue, its refusal to wear it at all
Load More Replies...K but I'm sad that I'm america someone has to work 12 hour shifts when battling cancer.
Even if you couldn't wear a mask or didn't want to, they don't have to allow you to shop or dine there. Rights go both ways
Doctors have said there is no condition where you would be unable to wear a mask
There is a condition where skin is extremely painful by the slightest touching. So it can be.
Load More Replies...Such serious health conditions this person finds itself at a bar, demanding to be served alcohol, presumably. Ohhh-Kay. Just did a quick Google search - people with lung, breathing problems can and should wear masks properly. All they need to do is to do some research. For people with severe conditions - of any kind - they need to consult a physician. What people should never do is put others at risk.
Anti Vaxxers Never Change
I will never understand why antivaxxer troll away claiming this nonsense. I remember when the Salk vaccine for polio was perfected. Polio was a terrifying disease that affected everyone but it seemed to my second grade brain the children were targets. Let's not forget really young kids in iron lungs. We were vaccinated in school. The vaccine in the beginning was a live virus (I think) and some kids actually caught polio.

Restaurant Owner Smacks Down Bs Review
Classy and straightforward response to a jackass. Not always easy to do. Kudos for demonstrating TRUE integrity.
Never lie about a company in online reviews. It can take them years to build up a positive average rating again. Some small businesses rely heavily on visits influenced by good reviews and they miss out big time because of bad ones. If you genuinely have an issue then take it up with the manager there and then if possible but if not then at least have the grace and decorum to do it behind closed doors later on.
I agree because their, their family's and children's lives depend on money from their business which depend on good reviews.
Load More Replies...Gods, I hate people like that. Always looking for a reason or angle to get comped, and they get abusive when they aren't.
Scott believes that it’s not hard, but “it just means you need the habit of asking good questions before you accept what you see or hear. And learning what sources to trust more than others.”
Due to the rise of social media fake news, bogus claims, and lies, both little and big, seem to be spreading faster than ever. “Someday we will learn that technology accelerates everything, the good and the bad. Today is not that day. 300 years ago Jonathan Swift wrote that “Falsehood flies and the Truth comes limping after it” but everyone at Facebook at Twitter seems to have only recently figured this out.”
According to Scott, “Everyone should be taught media literacy like this.” Meanwhile, many seem to struggle to find ways to politely tell a person to quit their nonsense. Scott suggests “asking “how do you know what you know?” as it often does the job.” “It sets you up to say ‘Thanks, but I don’t think you know what you’re talking about.’”

Load More Replies...Being ignorant and arrogant to this point is impressive. There is almost no link between ethnicity and nationality in African countries (except for Ethiopia maybe, which was never actually colonized). Nationalities were completely made up during the last century by colonization and decolonization, in terms that, very often, didn't have anything to do with the complex diversity and geographical distribution of ethnicities with thousands of years of existence. And Nigeria is one of the most significant example of this, with great cultural wealth indeed, but also huge political problems - which are complicated in thelmselves but could certainly not be solved by imposing some sort of fake ethnical homogeneity. That's just an awful, racist and totalitarian idea which deserves to be disregarded as such.
Most successful country...what!!!! That isn't even 20% true ND I'm Nigerian
People like O.D.I.N. would support ethnic cleansing. Comments like that are unforgivable and those that make then need to be banned from social media and any form of public speaking!

Vegan Lies About The Benefits Of Being Vegan. Another Vegan Calls Them Out
Not that this person wasn't dumb as a box of rocks, but the tree loss is about deforestation to create grazing land. There are many places in the world where rainforests are being torn down to create more land to raise cattle on. Though this original poster might very well believe they eat trees

There is no correlation between using paper and saving trees. The paper industry literally plants the most trees out of anyone yearly. And uses their own "crops". Never mind that pretty much all paper has a % of recycled content these days.
Leave this poster alone. They obviously have a very low protein level and it's affecting the brain.
i like the idea of beef cattle being in the same food circle as deforestation. thsuper thsilly
Most deforestation is to grow soy to be used at cattle food. Only a small percentage of soy is used for oil or human foods.
Load More Replies...Hmmm... that guy who answered calculated 1 beef per person which is huge and give a wrong answer... nevertheles, besides this mathematical error, I agree with him :)
Look at this dude, thinking cattle can’t down a tree and consume it whole, what a l o s e r! (I’m joking, of course)
Load More Replies...Not directly but most deforestation is for the growing of soy which is then turned into cattle feed. Only a very small percentage is used for other things. So indirectly, yes, cattle eat trees :) :)
Load More Replies...Not saying the meat industry is particularly eco friendly or anything, but the reality is that most pasture-land is unsuitable for crops. Just google 'mesquite + africa' and you'll see how trying to force trees to grow where they don't belong actually has a very negative impact on the environment. Trees need lots of water, and forests can only grow in wet environments. Trying to grow trees in an already arid environment sucks even more water out of the soil. Not to mention, if they don't grow in a place naturally, they're invasive. Invasive things tend to not have things that eat them in their new environment, and can quickly crowd out native species. Meat, on the other hand, is a way to utilize these more arid environments that wouldn't have been able to produce much human food, anyway. And if you really want to be a stinker about it, you could even argue that crops growing in wetter environments are probably located on the sites of old forests that had been cleared for cropland.

If you had a million dollars, and you spent a dollar per second, you would run out of money in 11 and a half days. If you had a billion dollars, and you spent a dollar per second, your money would last nearly 32 YEARS.
Okay - I just checked. I also want to point out that when people on the internet are talking about billionaires and millionaires, they might mean different things to what *I* think about. because I'm from Europe, and Europe uses "long stack" while USA and most English-speaking countries use "short stack". Meaning that for the US, a billion means thousand millions, while a Billion over here is a MILLION millions. (For the US/ESC that would be a trillion). And our trillion equals a billion millions! Damn... I'd rather be a billionaire in Europe.

Load More Replies...The flu vaccine doesn't provide more than a year of immunity -- and the flu mutates. Yearly shots are needed to be immune. Not all vaccines provide life long immunity. Scientists do not know how long the immunity from the COVID-19 vaccine will last. There are many reasons we should keep wearing masks, Google it.
And not everyone gets a flu shot. Imagine if they did during a year when the shot is very effective!
And the flu vaccine was also never mandatory so that the illness could be "eradicated" as he proclames. It's simple logic, but who am i to judge?
Now the fun begins. Can we vaccinate fast enough to prevent COVID-19 variants from coming to the US? Or do all get booster shots for protection from them.
We can't vaccinate fast enough to stop all of the new mutations because it's not a race between the USA's vaccination rate and COVID, but against the entire world's vaccination rate and COVID. And many areas of the world are far lagging in vaccinations. So even if the USA vaccinated everyone tomorrow, new mutations would still happen in other parts of the world and make their way here.
Load More Replies...flu is also zoonotic. to completely get rid of it, we would have to vaccinate all birds and pigs (or kill the infected) and also vaccinate all humans. This would be impossible. What we CAN do is prevent infection in humans as much as possible by distributing vaccines, but many people choose not to get the vaccine, and the vaccine isn't the most effective, and vaccinated people might get the flu still (particularly strains that aren't the most prevelent)

Cultural Appropriation vs. Cultural Appreciation
Yeah I cringed every time someone goes on a righteous rant about cultural appropriation. Look, we Asians don't really care? In fact, we find it amusing and a bit of pride that someone from another culture is exploring ours.
There's a big difference between exploring and exploiting. Buying traditional dress items from traditional or local makers and supporting them is fine, but fancy expensive designers taking those items and putting them on a catwalk for many thousands of dollars is not. Neither is it fine to use semi-forced, subsistence level labor in Asia to undercut local tradespeople in their traditional crafts,
Load More Replies...Exactly. Cultural appropriation is when a person is disrespectful against another culture. Like wearing traditional clothes in mockery. Using clothes or food or items from another culture in a normal way is not a bad thing. Every culture had influence from others, thats how we grew. I am sick of a minority of racist people making a biss fuss out of "whites" doing certain things while they are ok with other people mixing cultures. For example how I would be critiziced by those extremists for wearing a kimono for being european but they would be fine with a japanese woman dressing in my traditional clothes.
I agree. Sadly there’s one very very specific group who makes that stupid argument the most, and you can’t even say who they are or you look awful.
Load More Replies...To appropriate is to take without consent or to set aside for a specific purpose. Cultural appropriation refers to the former. The example here is spot on. Something that has to be earned within a culture is appropriated if it is not earned. It's the equivalent of me, an Irishman, wearing a US Army Distinguished Service Cross Medal because I think it would look cool. Cultural appreciation is sharing their arts and can include wearing their fashions. Most cases of people screaming cultural appropriation are really appreciation, people need to think more and assess before they get involved.
When I was really young and lived in Japan, a bunch of really sweet Japanese women wearing kimonos dressed me and my mother up in kimonos as well. There is a big difference between appropriation and appreciation.
My Native Canadian ex explained it as so: Food, hairstyles, and fashion are fine, culturally significant or spiritual objects are not. Yes to braids and bannock and buckskin jackets, no to war bonnets, eagle feathers, and medicine bags.
What if a white went to a public powow dance where they sell tickets to the public & sell Native American clothes & toys for money? Native Americans sell stuff to non Natives for money. Dream catchers. Animal fur & feathers, medicine bags, items used for religious purposes.
Load More Replies...Also, are you buying traditional dress from a local craftsman and supporting them or are you using a costume to make money off of?
WELL DONE!!! (By the way, even "white people" can get culturally appropriated. Using Dies Irae in movie soundtracks is cultural appropriation. It's for the Catholic mass. It means, "Day of [the] Wrath [of God]." Of course, I put "white people" in quotes because I'm white, but most Catholics are not.)

Someone Doesn’t Have Their Facts Straight
Why would you want to stop funding postal services... do you know how expensive it would be if the private companies decided
You're missing the second comment. The USPS isn't funded by the government. It's the only government agency that is completely self funded. It IS, however, throttled by the government. If you think stamps are expensive, they currently do not cover what it costs to process and deliver. As it is, congress decrees that the postal service can ONLY sell mailing services, supplies, and cards. Go into a UPS or Fed Ex and they offer other services as well. In much of the world, postal offices even have banks, like the USPS used to (1911-1967). Because those banks were government banks, they offered much lower interest rates than private banks and offered greater access to those in rural areas. Between being forced to fund retiree benefits 75 years in the future (the only federal agency to do so) and Congress lacking interest in allowing the USPS to help themselves, they are actively trying to push the service private.
Load More Replies...Sure get rid of more public entities and then cry when private businesses corner the market and gain enough leverage to lobby for legislation to screw you. By then, you would have no alternative but to bend over.
If there wasn't a governmentally controlled delivery service, private companies would have no standard by which to set their prices and the cost would just keep rising!
So that's got to be a trump republican posting that stupid comment. Just regurgitating the crap that came from trump's administration.

You are not immune. None of you. Not me. Not you. but if you want to risk it, please do, and be aware that we're pushing for legislation to have deliberate spread of disease made a felony (assault), expanding from the HIV/AIDS legislation on that.
If my dad, who has copd, gets the virus from someone like this, i will make them suffer.
Congrats On The Graduation Buddy
I just can't help but nearly piss myself laughing at the irony that someone with the name SkullCrusherXxX is calling others edgy...
Hey, SkullCrusherXxX, it’s extremely hypocritical of you to call anyone ‘edgy’. Your username sounds like a 12 year old’s xBox account.

this person must have had travelled into the future to experience 4 coronas
In fairness, if they did have Covid, they could have the classic symptom of losing their sense of smell. Therefore, they'd be unable to smell their own bullshit. 😁
I am going with first person is talking about Corona Beer.
It actually depends on the levels of antibodies you have. Normal levels will keep you (relatively) safe for about 3 months. I've had it twice, the first time was March last year, it wasn't too bad other than the crazy fever, severe aches so bad I spent a whole week where I couldn't even get out of bed to go to the toilet (I had my very own bucket!), headaches that wouldn't go away and complete loss of taste and smell (I was thankful for the the lack of smell because of the bucket issue). The second time was October last year, that time I ended up in hospital. Fortunately I didn't need a respirator and was only in for 2 days, but still, it was scary!
Pretty sure the amount of time antibodies lasts is different with everyone. My aunt has to be extra careful because she tested positive, lost her taste and smell and the whole shebang, and didn't develop antibodies at all. Apparently a small percentage of people do not develop antibodies even after having covid. And I'm not making that up, if it's not possible then she was lol.

They really ought to ban these a$$hats from the internet. And stop them breeding.
Per context my guess is they meant to write "You wanted to MAKE an issue...." but either auto fill messed up or they made a typo. That's just my guess, I might be wrong since English isn't my native language.

Says The Art Was Theirs And Gets 5.5k Upvotes Before Admitting They Actually Got It From Pinterest. The Original Artist Even Said “Please No Copying” When It Was Posted To Deviantart Almost 3 Years Ago
Everytime there is an post with incredible art that has a sad title (like "not that great but wanted to share" or "i didn't want to post this but my friends told me to") there's a 99% chance is stolen
Or, "My friends and family don't care about this so I'm showing you..."

Deviantart is a cool site ... or was - haven't been there lately, but will go back there and see if it still delivers.
It doesn’t. They changed a lot about the site so it’s harder to actually find specific stuff, and like 80% of the longtime good artists left.

Hunter Of The Bull**it
An owl hunting deer. Oh my ... well, a very, very, very large owl, and a very, very, very small deer ...
"The Eurasian eagle-owl is perhaps the only living owl widely reported (if not commonly) to kill the young of ungulates. At least nine species have been identified as their food. It is possible that some ungulates are eaten as carrion but this species, like most owls, normally kills its own food, unlike many eagles many of which consume carrion regularly. Among the ungulate prey recorded are three species of deer and five species of goat-antelopes, in addition to piglets of wild boar."

Too bad Haiti ended slavery only to have the country destroyed by France ....
You didn't have to own slaves. Slavery created a class of people who white people could look down on and treat sadistically-----all white people, not just slave owners. That's why people cling to racism today. Furthermore, the entire Southern economy was based on not paying slaves for their labor.
Almost all human cultures have had slaves because free labor is...well, free. It’s not a coincidence that the Industrial Revolution started after slavery ended for most countries (several Middle Eastern countries didn’t outlaw it until the 1960s-1970s, and it’s still practiced in parts of Africa). It’s why we keep creating computers and machines to do work for us. Far from being just a “white” problem, or a problem between any two specific races, slavery has been a constant because humans will literally find any reason to separate from and dehumanize other groups of humans. Greeks kept Greek slaves, Native Americans kept African slaves, the Japanese kept Korean and Chinese women as sex slaves...it’s a tragic, disturbing part of humanity. But it involves ALL humanity, from the beginnings of civilization.

They SHOULD sort non-vaccinated people, though. It's a matter of public health and we should alaways know who are the morons that put us all at risk because of conspiracy theories
We also need to know who's unvaccinated because they can't. So that we can be sure to be extra careful and make concessions for those who health conditions or Medical Treatments make it impossible

The current culture of seeking approval and praise from strangers really need to stop. It has been so toxic to the point I think these people are addicted to it.

Like the time my brother said something about "the mean streets where I was raised" and I reminded him that he was born into a middle class family and literally never had to go without anything and the closest he ever got to "the streets" was when he would go running out to wave at the trash truck.
I wonder how many of these posts were actually posted by real people, rather than by trolls and bots designed to spread misinformation
The neurotic and pathetic people in our society bothers me . I certainly have had my share of embarrassing ups and downs but this is truly just sad. It makes me feel like the nuclear family is not only gone but deaf dumb stupid and slow and in top of that apathetic to whatever goes on in these people's minds that is making them so sad and insecure with being themselves. I laughed but really this is sad.
I sure wish whether you are for or against masks that people would leave businesses out of it... they're struggling to get by like everyone else. The businesses are also subject to whatever law the state passes, so... you're screwing the wrong people.
People will do anything for likes. It’s kind of pathetic. Maybe I’m missing something. Do likes pay your rent? Do they get you a boyfriend? Do they suddenly make you cooler irl?
I find it interesting for the majority of these posts, you never see a response from the OP....
