33 Couples That Failed At Social Distancing And Revealed These “Quarantine Baby” Announcements
You've probably heard this joke a million times when the quarantine began: there's going to be a baby boom by the end of the year. Some laughed while nodding their heads and others thought it was impossible for couples to bring a new life into the world after seeing each other all day every day with no end in sight. But families are expanding. And creative parents-to-be are coming up with the funniest ways to announce their big news.
From saying they got the wrong kind of protection to little kids claiming their parents weren't good at social-distancing, its evident that some didn't lose their sense of humor during times of such great uncertainty.

According to Dr. Melissa Richards, an OBGYN at Olmsted County Medical Center, the hospital is expected to hit 1,000 births in 2020, which is something OMC hasn't done in more than five years.
That being said, she believes the "boom" won't be as drastic as some predict. "I wouldn't call it a boom, but maybe a bump," Dr. Richards told KTTC. "In 2019, we had 58 deliveries in December," Dr. Richards said. "This year, we are tracking to deliver 80 patients."
Lyman Stone, a research fellow at the Institute for Family Studies, pointed out that “events that cause a large increase in deaths tend to cause a large decrease in births nine months later.” Which is the complete opposite of the popular belief that a major natural disaster would inspire Americans sensing their own mortality to grow their families.
The researcher cited natural disasters such as hurricanes and famines, as well as previous pandemics to support the claim, saying that would-be parents may be traumatized by fear or concerned about how they would care for children during difficult and uncertain times. Still, such declines are often temporary.
You clearly did not follow Mr Presidents instructions with the Clorox
Me: "Why am I the only one who isn't going to be a parent after quarantine?" Voice in my head: "Because you're single, you hate kids, and 50% of your time in lockdown has been given over to Animal Crossing." Me: "I got all the fossils, so it was totally worth it."
Please correct me if I'm wrong but if this baby is 24 weeks old it was conceived well before most countries went into quarantine (Reading July 3). Even if you include China which went into lockdown February 4th. Not to lessen the joy of their announcement.
So as cute as these are.. it’s not as if couples in the same household are expected to socially distance...?
Is this a pregnancy announcement, or just a photo of baby wear that will tell everyone why said baby now exists?
My husband and I were trying for our 2nd BEFORE this whole pandemic thing... Now I am due in November and everyone thinks it's because of the quarantine... 🤦 🤷♀️
Very repetitive. WHAT a bad time to conceive, having to go to hospital during a pandemic is risky for mother and baby.
Well. It's meant for friends and family. And these people aren't looking at aggregate websites like Bored Panda to read the notice :) And then it's just cute.
Not to mention the future...this pandemic reduced greenhouse gases. These babies are going to reverse that. We are truly hopeless. I can't talk too much I have a grandbaby born 7 months ago. I have mixed emotions about the other 8 they want to follow..😔
Looking at some of the pessimistic comments here, I am astounded that the human race has not gone extinct long ago. If today's little fragile snowflakes think this is even in the top 100 of dire circumstances the human race has gone through, they are beyond foolish and misinformed. And, if their ilk had been a larger percentage of humanity in the past, it is likely we would not have persisted.
I so hope that none of these babies are going to be named Corona.
But after abcde I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Or Covid
Bud might be a better name
Uh... it's already happened... https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-twins-born-during-india-lockdown-named-corona-and-covid-11968479
Me eyes rolled so far back I could almost see my brain. Why would parents do that to their child. Firstly they are ridiculous names and secondly those kids are likely to be ridiculed over their names. What were they thinking?
Idiots don't think, they act, and say "to hell with the consequences".
Batman, Pangolin, Wuhan... Many possibilities
Didn't Elon and Grimes name their kid x~§…}}{{$#! ?
Rona wouldn't be too bad
Of course they will!
Sure are a lot of these that are basically "we had sex!!!". I don't get it. I mean I get the joke, but you can surely announce a pregnancy without highlighting how said pregnancy came about.
"Quaratine wasn't boring because mommy and daddy thought they had all the protection they needed, and didn't adhere to social distancing rules!" "We get it. Y'all fucked because you weren't at work."
LOL
Yeah it's low class
You can but they chose not to. Don't be a Debbie Downer. People fuck.
I don't get the making kids wear "my parents had sex" jokes on their clothes. If the adults were wearing them, it'd be funny... aw well. Each to their own...
Later on, in the year 2033-34, they'll be quaran-teens
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It could’ve been funny if people had written their own jokes. Most of these are exactly the same... Also, if you’re a couple living together it’s not really that amazing that you “happened to have sex”. Lol. 🙈
Children of the Quarn.
Makes me more concerned that none of these couples seem to comprehend that you don't need to practice social distance within you OWN HOME (unless one or more of you has symptoms). Plus think of the fact that your kids will no doubt see these pictures at some point and there will be no doubt in their mind what so ever that you didn't want them in the first place...
Exactly. I don't get the joke, but looks like these parents don't get what "social distancing" is.
It's A JOKE. Calm down.
My mom works as a nicu/labor and delivery nurse, and she says the confirmed pregnancy tests are rolling in.
So irresponsible

How would she know? You don't go to the NICU do take a pregnancy test...
Sorry, I don’t know why people are downvoting you. I didn’t word that great, but the hospital she works at has all pregnancy/delivery stuff in the same space.
If you're in the nicu...you're in a hospital in the baby ward. That's how.
You know, I'm glad we have regulations about baby names. Wuhan and Batman wouldn't be possible at all and I think they would not allow Covid and Corona either.
All babies are beautiful! If parents got pregnant during COVID who are we to judge? It’s a happy occasion.
Hopefully ppl have income to take care of the new ones. This world is getting dark
Edward, what the hell are you talking about? First, there is no such thing as "toxic femininity", and second, what the hell does that have to do with this post?
Aww! These were cute (although some were repetitive). Congrats to all of these people! Wishing happiness to all of them and their coming bundle of joy!
These people seriously just be advertising that they smashed.
Social distancing doesn't apply at house level, so this makes no sense even as a joke. It literally means that those people didn't respect social distancing when going out of the house. The only funny one is the Lego one, bonus no corona mention whatsoever.
These people are all dumbasses and idiots. And royally screwed. Pandemics don't just end, it takes up to 2 years and the young are the most vulnerable. So screwed
Well, would you rather abort? Kill that baby that you had been waiting for?
Well, that made me and my useless uterus sad.
It will be interesting to see, once the data gets tallied, if the number of Coronials born represents a statistical anomaly — up or down — over what would normally have been expected for that time period.
“Coronials,” tho! 🤣
More like: which ones will survive
I love it. My baby is due in December too! 😊
I got pregnant just before Coronavirus became a thing. For our announcement I photoshopped an ultrasound of the baby to have a mask on and Clorox wipes in his hands lol
Not funny... :( Peoples DIES because of corona... THIS would like (and prevention) the first, not the idi.t jokes.
Yawn. Baby announcements are stupid.
You gotta say though, having your dad and mom showing up at a hospital cause you told them you broke your spleen or something only for them to find out that you had a BABY- kinda awkward.
Sorry but these posts were not up to your usual high standards. Extremely repetitive. It looks like the same idea over & over again with different names. Almost like an ad for someone's business. Even the typeset is the same from post to post????
All of them are the same. How sad and boring.
It strangely makes sense, the urge to procreate after tragedy.... (though I don't think I'd want to be pregnant with the Threat of Covid in the air) My son was a 9/11 baby... the trauma of the event shook us out of the complacent "one day" starting our family. Took a little while to get the bunni in the oven but he's now 18 years old. Now that I think about it, much of the class of 2020 was 9/11 babies!
Most of these look like generic ads of clothes printing companies, literally from "haha funny t-shirts" product collection.
Some of you guys have no humor. It's just meant to be a funny or cute way of announcing an upcoming edition to their families. It's not for all of us here anyway.
Oh good! We were just turning this around! Seriously tho...we gotta teach this generation to refuse plastics and fossil fuel whenever possible and we'll all be just fine. I'm a new grandma..can't see her much because of the virus but they're great and so are we. Congratulations new parents! And good luck! Raise em right. Teach them to stand up for what they believe in.
An unplanned and possibly unwanted baby. What can be more beautiful xD
Larysa Bondar Good response!
four basic formats of quarantine pregnancy announcement: Mom and Dad thought they had all the protection they needed. . . or, mom and dad didn't say six feet apart! or "well played, quarantine" or a picture of the ultrasound with some clever little saying on a bulletin board behind it

I remember the days where you just told your immediate family you were having a baby and that was it.
My friends child is call corina
Babies, pee sticks and banjo music. Ain't it perty? Not directed at the above ones just the whole goofy idea , virus, distance, name brand beer, acting liike babies are an accident when the hospitals are full of people praying for their loved ones. Enough.
High birth rates always happen during times of stress baby boomers are usually ww2 babies my favorite story though is the baby boom in a town in Texas in the 30s that had a spike in births because of a 3 am train that woke everyone up at the same time
Ctrl c, Ctrl v
Lots of December and January babies
These are all cute and sweet, though they did get a tad repetitive on the not practicing social distancing theme.
Always nice for their child to be able to confirm they weren't planned for.
If they grow up loved and cared for what does it matter if they were planned or not?
Being proud of forcing a life into this world during a deadly pandemic, climate change, anti-racism protests and riots, the gap between rich and poor growing wider and wider, the USA descending into madness, etc. Unbelievable.
So no more babies? Climate change isn't going away...so humans should stop reproducing and kill ourselves off? There is also love and happiness in this world, you just have to make sure to show your kids how to love others and how to take care of each other and this earth. I would never say "well the world is going to hell! No more humans!!" We should ALL take care of EACH OTHER.
We are like green lice on a rose bush, and like them, once we become too many then most of us will go away. One thousand years ago, the total world population is estimated to have been around 300 million people, reaching half a billion four hundred years ago - and now there are seven billion of us.

That's right. No more babies. Every human suffers in their lifetime, some (a lot) more than others. This means making a new life, who didn't ask for it, is bringing more suffering in the world. That is inherently wrong. Especially in a time as this.
Not making babies is not The solution tô any of this problems you said. Maybe is the solution. One or many of this babies will maybe make the world a much better place for all the Human kind. At least they are doing already to their family and giving us a little smile with this announcements.
Not everyone lives in the US. And dont get kids if you dont wanna, but why shit on the joy of others?

the worst thing is is that most of the sex that brought about these pregnancies was probably hate sex from being cooped up together for so long.
More likely just boredom sex because there isn’t anything better to do, considering that they all seem to have a sense of humor and feel positive about the situation. Couples that hate each other and then find out they are expecting generally have other plans than cutesy announcements.
"hate sex" shouldnt be a thing. it sounds toxic af

I'm 30 and just got on birth control last Tue for the first time. I've had several sexual partners in the past and a husband now. None used protection or were safe. Lol. My woman parts are fine.. I've never had a baby, got pregnant. Luckily for me that's what I want. No kids. I have a friend younger then me with 7 kids. I sometimes wonder how? You just really bad at pulling out???. . my protection is I tell them ill take it and swallow... bam every man is a pull out king with that 👑.. Works every time.
If you are 30, didn’t use protection until recently, and have never been pregnant, you probably just aren’t very fertile.
It sounds as though you did not have any real sex education at all, neither at home nor at school. It also sounds as though you felt that letting men have sex with you without protection is what you believed was what was expected of you, what 'everybody does', and that you yourself really did not have a say in it. Tiffany Marie, take your life into your own hands and be there for your child, on all levels!
Very repetitive. WHAT a bad time to conceive, having to go to hospital during a pandemic is risky for mother and baby.
