33 Couples That Failed At Social Distancing And Revealed These “Quarantine Baby” Announcements
You've probably heard this joke a million times when the quarantine began: there's going to be a baby boom by the end of the year. Some laughed while nodding their heads and others thought it was impossible for couples to bring a new life into the world after seeing each other all day every day with no end in sight. But families are expanding. And creative parents-to-be are coming up with the funniest ways to announce their big news.
From saying they got the wrong kind of protection to little kids claiming their parents weren't good at social-distancing, its evident that some didn't lose their sense of humor during times of such great uncertainty.

This dude didn't listen when scientists told us corona was bad for you.
According to Dr. Melissa Richards, an OBGYN at Olmsted County Medical Center, the hospital is expected to hit 1,000 births in 2020, which is something OMC hasn't done in more than five years.
That being said, she believes the "boom" won't be as drastic as some predict. "I wouldn't call it a boom, but maybe a bump," Dr. Richards told KTTC. "In 2019, we had 58 deliveries in December," Dr. Richards said. "This year, we are tracking to deliver 80 patients."
My husband made that face when the ultrasound tech told us it was twins, lol.
Load More Replies...Lyman Stone, a research fellow at the Institute for Family Studies, pointed out that “events that cause a large increase in deaths tend to cause a large decrease in births nine months later.” Which is the complete opposite of the popular belief that a major natural disaster would inspire Americans sensing their own mortality to grow their families.
The researcher cited natural disasters such as hurricanes and famines, as well as previous pandemics to support the claim, saying that would-be parents may be traumatized by fear or concerned about how they would care for children during difficult and uncertain times. Still, such declines are often temporary.
Look out - we have a whole new mass of boomer babies circa 2021 Congrats!
You two were rewarded for staying in and wearing masks like bandits. You lucky, life enjoying people.
Your's is the best one! Funny , just a touch of blush! Wish I could give it more votes!

Load More Replies...Wait, how did you get those supplies? I haven’t been able to get those since March 2! Like 100 days! And your pic is adorable too. : ) I guess this isn’t unlike all the October birthdays: folks got busy when snowed in, I guess! Hahaha!
Lock them up for being irresponsible and not having an Abortion. More Corona spreaders.
I love your name, it reminds me of a card I used to have above my desk, saying "I never make mistrakes".
Load More Replies...Just hope Baby #2 is born early in December. Having a birthday close to Christmas/Winterfest sucks.
I sincerely hope Kucera is the last name of the family and not the first name of the baby.
I was just thinking the same. But I guess it must be a Czech family name .
Load More Replies...Large families are a lot of fun, there's never a boring moment. BUT we have gone from one billion to seven billion in only a century and a half. With modern medicine (yes, do read vaccines!) almost all children survive that childhood that used to be so treacherous. Queen Anne saw only one child reach eleven years of age and she had seventeen pregnancies.
Love in stock !Best one yet! Just how long have you been quarantined?
"Not a quarantine food belly?" Wow, I didn't know a guy could get pregnant.
If it is real cat, it should be afraid. Not immediately, but in 2 years.... Nothing scares the cat like an excited toddlers' shout "kitty!"

I don't know why you were downvoted. It could be the opening of a baby-walking park, or the birth of a baby. And maybe I'm superstitious or a big worrier, but isn't it a little eerie to not announce the pregnancy at just 3 months with a name? I guess it's like tempting fate, in a way? Ingesting too much sci-fi/horror maybe...

"Let's eat Grandma," vs "Let's eat, Grandma." Commas are important (especially to Grandma).
Load More Replies...There is something wrong with them grinning like maniacs while she vomits...
Aw, poor Mama. Don’t laugh at her! Hold her hair! Better treat her like a queen for the rest of the day. C’mon man.
I feel extremely sorry for the mom..sitting there all nauseous and the others are grinning
Everyone knows this is a comic right? Not real life? Just checking
Load More Replies...Me: "Why am I the only one who isn't going to be a parent after quarantine?" Voice in my head: "Because you're single, you hate kids, and 50% of your time in lockdown has been given over to Animal Crossing." Me: "I got all the fossils, so it was totally worth it."
This one is confusing.. two babies? you've had multiple opps babies? Though I am guessing friends and family probably understand it.
"We've done this before, what's one more?" - we've had kids, we got this!....oops it's twins
Load More Replies...They said what's "one" more. So I'm pretty sure not twins...
Load More Replies...My bad , It's" Bun in the oven." And that's not much better. My apologies to all the women in the world.
Load More Replies...Please correct me if I'm wrong but if this baby is 24 weeks old it was conceived well before most countries went into quarantine (Reading July 3). Even if you include China which went into lockdown February 4th. Not to lessen the joy of their announcement.
Some women do this type of weekly photo thing which compares the size of the fetus to a common household item (ex: At 24 weeks the baby is the size of a roll of toilet paper or at 30 weeks the baby is the size of a watermelon). Thank don’t think she was claiming to have gotten pregnant during COVID, just think she used it as a cute photo opportunity.
Personally, I would not want to be compared to a roll of toilet paper.
No, but its a play on the whole, my bab is the size of an orange... which actually makes less sense because oranges are all different sizes.
Load More Replies...Many pregnant moms do this kind of weekly picture thing comparing the size of the fetus to common items (Ex: At 24 weeks the baby is the size of a roll of toilet paper or at 30 weeks-size of a small watermelon). She isn’t claiming to have gotten pregnant during COVID, she was just using what was going on in the world and made it into a cute pregnancy photo opportunity.
The baby is probably safest inside. The parents may want to extend the pregnancy beyond the usual 40 weeks depending on how bad the outbreak is when she's due. The reference to toilet paper is apropos. I hope that the shortages ease by the time she gets to the 3rd trimester and baby starts using mom's bladder as a trampoline.
It isn't usually up to the mother how long the pregnancy lasts. If the baby is determined it's time, it's time.
Load More Replies...So as cute as these are.. it’s not as if couples in the same household are expected to socially distance...?
I guess it depends on each family. My husband and I were both going to work each day, and because we were working with different people, we did in fact social distance as much as possible to keep each other and indirectly our coworkers safe. I have three autoimmune disorders, so we just decided to be especially careful, even within our own homes. We’re from MI, and in the beginning, one of the hardest hit states. Live just outside of Detroit, so one of the worst hit areas as well. We literally didn’t even give each other a kiss until maybe 3 weeks ago. Sit on opposite ends of couch, all of that. I can understand if people were staying at home and working remote, etc... but we just did what we felt was safest for us, and our coworkers.
Load More Replies...but you did social distancing,,nobody said you need to have 2 bedrooms
Agreed, I don't know why anyone wants to put those silly things on their babies
Load More Replies...Although it should be covering his nose AND his mouth, and not just his mouth! Xp
Load More Replies...Sorry but that bear needs to cover his nose... supposing he sneezes. Gee
What are rainbow babies? I came out blue (cord choking me) then I was yellow (jaundice, then I was red (I forget why). Is that what you mean?
Load More Replies...Them parents are gonna have their hands full with# babies, At lease 2 for sure in diapers. Busy, busy!!
Oh yes Iam sure those 2 babies lose sleep at night wondering why the word "fail" was in the EXACT same room as them. They will no doubt endure horrible hardships and suffer from sleepless nights and PTSD all because their careless, mean parents used this foreign word "fail' in the SAME room on the family chalk board. Should I call for help or are you gonna call for someone to save these unwanted gifts of GOD from torture.
Load More Replies...Viral virus babies. All this took a wrong turn somewhere. Babies are a gift, a blessing.
My son knows he was an accident, but he was definitely not unwanted. We told him he's our best accident ever!
Load More Replies...Is this a pregnancy announcement, or just a photo of baby wear that will tell everyone why said baby now exists?
My husband and I were trying for our 2nd BEFORE this whole pandemic thing... Now I am due in November and everyone thinks it's because of the quarantine... 🤦 🤷♀️
Congratulations to you and your husband blessings to you guys
Load More Replies...Very repetitive. WHAT a bad time to conceive, having to go to hospital during a pandemic is risky for mother and baby.
Well. It's meant for friends and family. And these people aren't looking at aggregate websites like Bored Panda to read the notice :) And then it's just cute.
Load More Replies...I so hope that none of these babies are going to be named Corona.
Sure are a lot of these that are basically "we had sex!!!". I don't get it. I mean I get the joke, but you can surely announce a pregnancy without highlighting how said pregnancy came about.
"Quaratine wasn't boring because mommy and daddy thought they had all the protection they needed, and didn't adhere to social distancing rules!" "We get it. Y'all f****d because you weren't at work."
Load More Replies...Makes me more concerned that none of these couples seem to comprehend that you don't need to practice social distance within you OWN HOME (unless one or more of you has symptoms). Plus think of the fact that your kids will no doubt see these pictures at some point and there will be no doubt in their mind what so ever that you didn't want them in the first place...
Exactly. I don't get the joke, but looks like these parents don't get what "social distancing" is.
Load More Replies...My mom works as a nicu/labor and delivery nurse, and she says the confirmed pregnancy tests are rolling in.
All babies are beautiful! If parents got pregnant during COVID who are we to judge? It’s a happy occasion.
