This is reality. Look at people's social media accounts. People post the best parts of them online and try to hide the negatives. Denial is almost built into our systems. It's disgusting. There's no need to share every private thought and event that goes on in your lives, but don't make your life seem like all fairy tales and happiness. It's a lie then...

My little ones watch a lot of funny age appropriate stuff on YouTube, but the other day one of them drew a picture and they put a square around the picture and below that was a subscribe button and the number of current subscribers 1.7m. I am gonna have to make sure I work with them as they grow older to make sure they don't fall in to the new trend of internet based validation. Such as number of Likes, subscribers, or in our case Up Votes. I really only participate online on Bored Panda in small chunks of time. From my own experience I can see how easy it can be to become excited when a post get 10 upvotes. Or disappointed because my Post was taken out of context and received down votes. No one should use this system to validate their worth, or social acceptance. It is a neat thing but boy could it hurt a person who is not strong or confident in themselves.

She's alone with her stuff, surrounded by bills but nothing that has truly made her happy, nothing of real and lasting value.

For me, this reminds me of a child and his fading memories of his parents.

Death is inevitable. You've seen others go through it, you should know your time is coming. But I don't think you should live with a noose around your neck. Instead, take it off and use it as a swinging rope into death when you've full and well completed everything you've wanted to and lived life to your fullest. Your hands aren't tied for a reason. Take control.

Sometimes.. the depression has blinded you to much and the pressure of anxiety and the will to stay hidden away blocks you from the relief of freedom from your chains, so close.. yet so far away

We do this to ourselves. Its the insecurity and self doubt that we don't show anyone that is our biggest enemy.

I see this as the memory of a lost loved one chipping away at your sanity.
