“She’s not like other girls!” We’re all familiar with this phrase that became an internet phenomenon in the early 2010s. Girls who love eating pizza, who drink beer but never gain weight, girls who look like models without wearing makeup and girls who are just “one of the boys” because women never want to be friends with them.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with being unique, and we all have special quirks that will make us stand out. But the idea of claiming that you’re “not like other girls” doesn’t just celebrate one person’s uniqueness, it also implies that all other women are a monolith. And it perpetuates the idea that interesting women who may not like stereotypically feminine things are rare.

And as a woman who's getting her masters and doesn't want kids, f*ck you I am better than you. Read a f*cking book.
Obviously, women didn't like being slaves trapped in the house. If you want to play frontier-mom, go for it. But women are just like men, we all have different talents and skills. I can rebuild an engine and code. I prefer to be a member of the 21st century not the 6th.

A few years ago, the posts may have been more focused on girls who want everyone to know that they don’t wear makeup, don’t like “girly” things and don’t ever plan on getting married.
Today, however, there seems to be an influx of women posting online about how they’re not like other girls because they’re not feminists. Trad wives are becoming increasingly popular online, and today, lots of “pick me” girls seem to be conservative, anti-abortion and really into drinking raw milk for some reason.

If you play it on something with a screen, it's a video game. Computer chess is a video game. Computer solitaire is a video game. Those educational games I played as a kid were video games. I do a lot of work with seniors & folks with traumatic brain injuries. We focus on exercising cognitive awareness & enhancing neuroplasticity via gaming. 1/3 of them are finishing up BG3, another 1/3 are finishing or new gaming Elden before June, the remaining 1/3 are all over the board playing everything from mobile tap games to Fortnite to platformers, dungeons & VR. Many had never played a video game until they joined our group. Many more hadn’t played since Atari 2600. They’re all very proud of being gamers, but they’re so nonassuming. There are no qualifiers of what it means to be a gamer other than they, indeed, play video games.
How tf is Mario not a real game it’s one of the earliest video games series and still one of the most popular collections of games of all time. Same goes for Pokémon.

Pokemon and Mario are some of the most recognizable gaming franchises out there, so stfu OP. They are part of the 90s kid gaming starter pack. (I still have the OG Pokemon games for the Gameboy I had when I was 10.) And the Ninetendo 64 was fun! It had 007, Mario, Perfect Dark, and Resident Evil 2. (N64 RE2 was great because it had additional files you could collect which provided more backstory and a randomizer mode, so the items were a surprise, but in a fun way.) I guess this is an old post since they keep mentioning PS4. Get a PS5 and install the extended storage OP so you can finally be a real gamer. And you haven't even play nearly 600 hours of Horizon Forbidden West like me? Loser. BTW your dad is my new sugar daddy and is taking me to Greece and is going to kick you out of your basement. Internalized misogyny is a powerful and insidious thing that women need to be aware of to be able to break. Society tells us that women are one-dimensional beings who should love the color pink, taking care of the home, raising children and being submissive. And while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with any of those things if you genuinely want and enjoy them, the problem arises when girls are told that if they’re not like that, they must be super special and unique and quirky.
