I Spent 10 Years Photographing The Romanian Countryside Which Looks Like A Fairy Tale (New Pics)
In the past years, I have taken stunning pictures of the sunrise and the sunset from different corners hidden from circulated roads or modern cities, in the beautiful region called Transylvania situated in Romania.
I chose to use some photography techniques and post-processing to emphasize the feelings and moods I personally felt in these places. In this series, I photographed fortified churches built by Transylvanian Saxons, mountain pastures, beautiful nature, villages where transport is based on ox and cart, portraying the pastoral idyll of Transylvania.
It’s not hard to see why the beautiful landscapes of Transylvania have sparked the imagination of so many writers. As English travel writer Patrick Leigh Fermor wrote in 1934: ‘Transylvania had been a familiar name as long as I could remember. It was the very essence and symbol of remote, leafy, half-mythical strangeness; and, on the spot, it seemed remoter still and more fraught with charms.’ With this quote in my mind, I made a selection of last year's interesting photos, and I hope you will feel the magic from these nature photography shots too.
The hard work of the last 10 years was rewarded with a Sony World Photography Awards 2019 – National Award and the effort to promote my native county worldwide got me the title of “Tourism Ambassador”. Also, if you're interested, you can see my latest landscape photography posts on Bored Panda here and here.

It's more like van Gogh as the previous one characterised as such...
I'm seriously wondering what filters and settings were used to create this masterpiece.
will be fair if you write in a corner, where was each picture taken! Just a suggestion :)
Just say the view is beautiful. Just beautiful! I am throwing a blessed kiss to the universal Creator of things. I want to cry now.

I can actually feel the calm and sweet sense of enjoyment that stems from being in a beautiful spot and taking a little time out to contemplate the moment. Mmmmm...
I love everything about this picture, and have one question. What are those stacks? Is it hay?
Lovely, I want to be the woman in this image at that moment,,,beautiful.
I was thinking about Portugal or Spain at first. The view is ancient and gives me a feeling of time traveling.
capturing the spark in time, when the comm-link with other realms is active
Yes, it’s messing with my head. I was expecting to see a model railroad at first glance.

Obviously God was focusing His great light from Heaven on a meeting place for His people.
The subject is perfectly in focus. The foreground is not, and it’s on purpose.

In China this would be pollution, whereas this photo depicts a misty morning in the countryside. Thus, no pollution! Stop trolling, you are not amusing!
Load More Replies...Breathtaking. Any moment, a lilting song will fill the air, and a moment later a wandering minstrel will appear playing a whistle as he joins the morning birdsong.
if there is the need for ghostly sceneries, they can use these for real, no special effects needed
We have these beautiful towns also. You just don't look for them. How come people don't look in their own back yard anymore?
I wonder why people feel they HAVE to comment, even if they have nothing meaningful to say?
the fight of the powers, no mortal allowed at the scene, only the glimpse of the power caught on camera
i can imagine myself living in this quiet village and loving it.
Do you see the eyes on that cloud? Now that is something. How many faces do you see?
they moved faster than the wind, and we're seeing only the dust left behind
This gives the John Cougar Melloncamp song a whole new twist!! Love it!!
Including the graveyard invokes thoughts of the history of life, faith and death in this village.
Hard work, by hand and muscle strength. This is probably what we are going back to, out of necessity, after a century or so of abusing the land instead of using it, working with it, not against it.
what's left after the battle (the right side was victorious, the left is still on flames) :) The silence.
My love of mountains and with the cabin, I believe I would be content living here, lovely photo !!!
This is simply wonderful, thank you ever so much for sharing these stunning pictures of a stunny region of Romania. My family hails from Targu Mures and Bistrita, these pictures made me think of all the wonderful summers I got to spend there!!
Extraordinarily beautiful photographs. I had no idea that the Romanian countryside was so stunningly gorgeous. I feel like I would just like to walk into your photos and become a part of the landscapes. They felt so alive to me.
I'm a neighbor from Bulgaria and i really love Romania; such a beautiful country!
As a Romanian, this collection truly makes my heart sing and my eyes water. We have such a beautiful country, not only in Transylvania, but everywhere. Mountains, hills, rivers, muddy volcanoes, thermal springs, and lots and lots of history. Ancient, medieval and modern architecture, castles and churches, good food. Please visit. Thank you for sharing the collection!
These beautiful photos make me want to go to Transylvania! In most of the photos, the obvious lack of constantly hearing motorized traffic noise as a backdrop adds another wonderful dimension, as does the absence of a lot of light contamination.
