Developed a rapidly growing mass in my left eye socket. Multiple doctors said it was an infection and would go away on its own. Left my last doctor's appointment to get dinner and happened to sit next to a retired orbital surgeon visiting from another country who told me I would need surgery ASAP. She connected me with the best surgeon in my country and I’m recovering now ❤️

I, a lay person, hear the term 'mass in eye' and definitely do not think infection! Mass = tumor, right? Why would a doctor think a growth in an eye was an infection????

Not unusual to refer to an unidentified abnormality on imaging (like in x-ray, CT scan, MRI) as a mass. But very unusual to assume it is infection without further investigation, and even more unusual to assume a mass of infection (which makes me think abscess) will go away on its own! I donated 2 book ends of wooden teddybears my daughter had as a child in Christchurch, New Zealand. I had inscribed the bottom of one. 44 years later in Tauranga, New Zealand (1000kms away), browsing in an op shop I was gobsmacked to see the inscribed one for sale.

I still can't solve the mystery of who returned my son's hunting license to my house. Son lost it during a fishing trip to his favorite lake about 170 miles away. During the trip, the weather turned to rain and high winds, so he packed up to head home. While packing, he saw his license blow away in the wind. He decided to let it go since his trip was the last of the season. ____________A year later, after he had moved to a neighboring state, I found that someone had left his license in my mailbox. Who knows where it was eventurally found? I really wish I'd been home when they delivered it. I'd like to thank them and learn where they found it and how they found me! So kind to have gone out of their way to return it.

The night I met my BF we were talking and figured out we lived in TWO of the same childhood homes, and had the same rooms. My family moved in right after he moved out each time.

I had the same thing with my bf. The first 2 times his family lived right next door from my family's home, both times they moved away just a few months before my family moved there. The 2nd time they moved away they stayed with family for a few months then moved into the house my family had just vacated! We were both extremely freaked out when we discovered this!

Met a guy at a bar in a different state than I lived in. Started talking & realized not only were we from the same state, we lived at the same apartment, same floor, and in fact were next door neighbors. We are now in a relationship lol.

I grew up in Greenspoint in Houston, TX. Greenspoint mall used to have this big, tall, triangular sculpture of a sort with holes all through out that kids would crawl around and play in. One such afternoon while crawling around, myself and this other kid just paused, looked at each other, said, "HI!", and continued on our way. We kept bumping into one another and would repeat the same, "HI!", and continue to crawl around. It was like a silly little unspoken game we had going on. Many, many years later, I meet this fellow and we both knew instantly that we were those kids, I have no idea how. That was pretty unique, especially for Houston, TX.

I travelled to Italy in 2017. I ordered a cab to get from my airport to my hotel. The driver was really nice. We had a great convo the whole way there. I got laid off in 2023, so I signed up to drive uber. My friends told me to go to the airport for guaranteed money. My first customer was that cab driver from Italy.

I used to run a comedy show in San Francisco with a few friends. One of them did a 10 min bit about how bad Third Eye Blind was. Then she was like “ok I feel mean. But it’s not like Stephen Jenkins is here.” From the audience a man goes “yes he is.” And it’s Stephen Jenkins.

I named my middle daughter Courteney- spelled like Courteney C*x. 'Friends' was on at the time I was pregnant, and when I was a teenager I used to watch 'As the World Turns' and a girl whose character I LOVED was named Courtney Dixon, wife of Andy, alcoholic and son of the beloved Dr. Bob. That kind of sounds dumb when I read that back, lol. But the story above is so cool!! Someone set that up😇

One day I was walking through the city when I saw my doppelgänger across the street. That’s not the weird part. Although seeing one’s doppelgänger is uncommon, it does happen sometimes. Where it got into “glitch in the matrix” territory was that she was wearing the exact same dress that I was and her hair was styled in the exact same way.

When I was a young teen people my parents age who knew them and me, would stop me about a conversation I had with them a day or two before, or, how I had ignored them when they tried to wave or say hello. I had not seen them. It went away but it’s still freaks me out.

I once went to a job interview where they did an icebreaker with all 14 applicants. We were challenged to line up in order of our birthdays, we weren't allowed to speak or write anything down. After about 10 minutes the boss went down the line asking everyone their birthdays. When he got to me I said 2nd of April, the next 5 people all said the same date, the next 3 said the 3rd of April. In a group of 14 people, 6 had the same birthday! 9 had birthdays within 24hrs of each other, I don't know what the odds are of that happening but we were all stunned. (One of the guys was also literally born at the exact same time as me, at the same hospital!)

My Dad died in 1978. The kids and I were out for a walk, a block away was this old dude standing on the corner by the funeral home. He looked at his watch, put it up to his ear, tapped it, repeated this several times. We got to the intersection, old dude started across as we did in the opposite direction, passed each other in the street. It was my Dad. Freaked me out, but kept cool for the kids (4&8). Walked another few steps, oldest daughter said "Dad...where did that old guy go?" Turned around...gone.

When my aunty Linda got married, her and her husband Tam (short for Thomas) moved into an apartment where they had their son Mark. About 6 months later their elderly neighbours moved out and a young family moved in. My aunt went over to introduce herself and welcome them and was stunned to find out they were also called Tam and Linda and had a 6 month old son called Mark. The funny thing is the dad's didn't make any effort to get to know each other, the mum's became best friends and the 2 sons were friends as kids but grew up to hate each other (they're now in their 40s and still can't stand each other.)

My mother in law (now 100 years old) married on April 21st, which happenes to be the birthday of the late Queen Elizabeth. She lives in Edinburgh, and every year, there would be a 21 gun salute to mark the occasion. One year she was in hospital, and gaily told the wifey in the next bed to her that if she listened carefully she'd hear the salute to her wedding anniversary.....

My mom worked at the hospital as a nurse when she was pregnant with me. I worked with one of her coworkers 24 years later, same hospital, pregnant with my first baby.

I grew up like 45 minutes away from where I was born and I went to school with someone who shared a bday with me. He was born in the same hospital, in the room next door to me, 4 minutes before me.

I met my first girlfriend at 17 at summer school in St. Andrews, Scotland. We lived in Ohio in the 1970s when we went. Turned out that we lived two blocks away from each other for years and never met previously. She died at 22 and I have never forgotten that I got to live (so far) 46 more years.

I'm a retired RN. One nightshift, I floated to the Ortho floor. Every staff member had the same first name. No, we didn't write our last names or initials on the white boards. Which led to an amusing night for us, but an incredibly confusing morning for the Docs that made early morning rounds.

First year of middle school I made friends with GeGe, who was the only person I'd ever met who was white than me. I added white professional face paint to my foundation because back then Ghost wasn't a foundation option. She literally glowed in the dark. Second semester we make friends with Alice, also incredibly pale. Turns out they live in the same apartment complex with their single mothers. We mostly hang at GeGes, but finally ended up at Alice's one day. We piled into her mom's room to ask to go swimming and GeGe asks why Alice's mom had a picture of her dad. Alice says that is her dad, here's where we see the power of recessive genes. Pic is of a black man. Alice and her mom get upset and tell GeGe that's not a funny joke, she says I can prove it. The 3 of us go to GeGes and she pulls a pic of the same guy out of her dresser drawer. Guy cheated on his wife with both of them at the same time. Both moms found out he was married and ditched him, but didn't find out about each other.

Closest I had was a few years ago while on military training exercise, I was helping guide a truck to back into a spot. I looked down and saw a watch, a watch I lost the year prior. Had my name on it, was still on Zulu time and worked perfectly. Didn't even know that was where I lost it.

My Mother who our whole family misses passed away on June 10 2015.. fast forward 7 years later my First grandchild was born on the same day and the exact time of my mothers death. This day is incredibly bittersweet for me

We went to Egypt and had this really fun bartender on our boat. Five years later, we walk into a restaurant in our home town in Virginia and he's the bartender. I also went to school in Buffalo NY and fifteen years later started to date a guy in my new job in LA. He seemed familiar. Turns out we were classmates and had never met. 950 in our class.

Dated a guy from another high school for about 3 months. Decided we weren't a match and broke up with him. Several years later randomly ended up with a roommate at college who went to the same high school he did. I asked her if she knew my ex. When she realized who I was, she said, "Oh, your THAT girl..." Turns out he didn't take the breakup well ... 😐

I, US Air Force and deployed to Iraq in 2007 made friends with a nice Army guy like a week before my deployment ended. I deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 and ran into the same freaking Amy guy, days before that deployment ended :)

Freshman year of college, I knocked on a random guys door in my dorm to help me move some things. We'd smile and wave when we'd see each other after. But nothing deeper. 4.5 years later, while I was flying home from a military deployment in Europe, we were seated next to each other. He was coming home from his graduation trip. Spent 6 hours talking about our Alma Mater and people we knew in common. Haven't seen him since the luggage carousel after that flight.
