In Spider-Man (2002) Peter has a radioactive spider bite the size of a golf ball but instead of going to a doctor he decides to sleep it off. This is because Peter lives in America
He didn't want to wait 12 hours in the emergency department waiting room and then get charged $3,000 to have a doctor tell him to go home and sleep it off.
Yep, the ever skyrocketing price of healthcare in America is why I Google symptom checkers and at home treatments
What is some BP users obsession with America? It is not the only country with bad medical in the world...
In Home Alone 2, Donald Trump tells Kevin to get to the hotel lobby by going down the hall and to the left. However, Kevin gets there by ignoring his directions and taking a right. This is a reference to the fact that you should never take advice from Donald Trump
He even told the directors he’ll only allow them to film in his hotel if he was given a scene
I'm not defending him at all, the point of this scene was idiotic, but it is common practice, especially in the past. A lot of business owners wouldn't allow their buildings or company to be used in movies unless they got a scene in the movie it was going to be used for.
Load More Replies...The man claims to be a Jenius, even though he's got a brain smaller then a quark (the smallest thing in the universe)
And then he got all bent out of shape when he found out the movie was being aired with his part cut. Claimed it was censorship because of his political career. The cuts were made in 2014, before he even declared he was running. And it was on Canadian TV.
How is what you're saying even true? The movie was made in 1990 and released shortly after. So the timeline doesn't make sense with what you're claiming he said. The cuts were already made back in the 90's. Even if it was being played in Canada. There would be no need for cuts, as it had already been done prior to being released in the states. I'm just trying to understand what you're saying here.
Load More Replies...To learn more about hidden movie details, the significance behind them, and why we feel so entertained making fun of our favorite films, we reached out to Michael W. Boyce, Ph.D., a Professor of English and Film Studies at Booth University College in Winnipeg, Canada. He told Bored Panda that he believes Easter eggs in motion pictures are great: "The most passionate fans get a chance to show off their arcane knowledge and feel like they’re in on something special, secret."
On a purely business basis, it also demands multiple viewing for movie buffs to try and catch everything, the professor added. But still, even the most loyal fans can miss Easter eggs. Sometimes the view of the egg moves on screen so quickly, that "it can only be appreciated with high resolution pausing," he said.
In Iron Man (2008) Tony Stark pledges to shut down the weapons division of Stark Industries after his convoy was hit by a Stark Industries missile in Afghanistan. This is a reference to the fact that billionaires don't care how much harm they cause until it affects them personally
I prefer to think of it as he finally saw first hand what was happening, not so much experiencing it, but seeing with his own two eyes what he was doing to innocent people. He knew he wasn't helping the good guys, he was hurting them, and he still had his humanity to do the right thing.
Substitute ‘billionaires’ with ‘people in general’ and you’re not far off from the truth. Everything people get mad at the rich about are things they do, just with less resources.
In their movies from the X-Men universe (2000-2018), Deadpool and Wolverine are Canadian-born superheroes whose powers are unlimited free healthcare
I don't think deadpool would see it that way. He looks like an avocado had angry sex with an older uglier avocado and had a hate baby.
Hugh Jackman is Australian. Doesn't change the point about healthcare, though.
Wolverine is born in Canada. Hugh Jackman does t play himself in the X-Men films.
Load More Replies...We also managed to get in touch with Melanie Williams, film historian and professor at the University of East Anglia. "I think Easter Eggs are mostly quite a fun thing, rewarding viewers' vigilance," she told us. "But sometimes when elaborate fan theories are attached to certain motifs, it can get a bit close to conspiracy theory territory when everything has a hidden meaning," the professor added that the documentary about The Shining, Room 237, treads that tightrope.
"The idea of the Easter Egg hunt is that someone's hidden them for you to find. Or that they're an in-joke for the makers of the film, which may have been the case in older productions: When you could only see a film at the cinema (like initially Star Wars), it would be very difficult to spot the THX reference," Williams is talking about the hints to the film THX 1138 by George Lucas. "But ever since playback technologies of various kinds from VCR onwards, it's become a game that more people can participate in." However, she believes that Hitchcock's cameos were a kind of prototype for this — "something to look out for in every one of his films."
In The Big Bang Theory (2007-2019), Elon Musk is shown working at a soup kitchen, presenting him as an individual that cares for the less fortunate. This is our first indication throughout the entire show that its events are in fact fictional
You mean there is a universe where Elon is a decent guy?!
Load More Replies...Musk is weird and maybe even a bit crazy, but I don't think he's completely uncaring.
When his first child died from SIDS he told his ex-wife to quit being "emotionally manipulative" and get over it.

In order to prepare for his role as the broody and depressed Batman, Robert Pattinson spent 14 years being known as the guy from Twilight
He played Bruce like a moody teenager. Bruce Wayne did not have his mum around to curb his teen goth years.
"It's not a phase mom, it's who I am!" (goes to batcave and slams the button to close it) (idk i haven't watched any of the movies)
Load More Replies...I feel sorry for the young actors who played the main 3 in those films. Thinking it would be a great career boost and it turned out to be awful for them and they are still judged so harshly b/c of those films and the press surrounding them.
I think it worked out well for them. Pattinson got to play Batman and many lead roles. Kristen Stewart is being praised for portraying Princess Diana.
Load More Replies...Nah, I still remember him as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter franchise.
He'll forever be the guy from Twilight who was murdered in Goblet of Fire.
In A Quiet Place (2018) the kids are able to stay quiet for more than 5 seconds at a time. This is because they are not my neighbors' children.
This is soooooo funny, i think it is one of the few times i can say lol and actually mean it.
Yup. I legit giggled at this one. Except I substituted "my kid" for "neighbors' children".
Load More Replies...I'd say that seeing their younger brother brutally killed by a 10ft tall monster would be a pretty good motivator to shut up.
There is a reason why their familly is the only one left in the neighborhood. All the loud children were eaten.
Since everyone has their own traits and takes notice of their surroundings differently, it’s nearly impossible to create an Easter egg that every single person could uncover. However, it turns out that when fans sometimes find a secret note in the film, it comes as a surprise even for the filmmakers. "We’re story people — we like to make links and connections, even when they’re not intentional. If you meet someone for the first time and discover you have a mutual friend or both attended the same summer camp, you start to project a narrative — you were somehow meant to meet," Boyce explained.
"I am aware of some Easter eggs in films that the directors/writers have said, 'No, that wasn’t on purpose.' Does it mean that it’s not an Easter egg? Not necessarily," Boyce continued. "We can be influenced by things subconsciously, or secondhand. Even eggs that are purely coincidence can still produce meaning."
Christopher Waltz played a racist guy in Inglorious Basterds, and a not racist guy in Django Unchained. This is a nod to the fact he is an actor
Turns out I used to be friends with a lot of actors . The past two years on social media have revealed they are in fact closet racists . No thanks
Both him and Kate winslet have both portrayed Nazis in different films…and then played a married couple in Carnage
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus was the only Roman Emperor to achieve the rank of Jedi Master
this is the most hilarious detail ever, also what movie is this from
Marcus Aurelius is famous for his writings on stoic philosophy so does that mean jedi masters follow stoicism?
But Palpatine was more "Jedi? Whatever, dude. Sith is where the action is." I believe that's a direct quote.
Beauty and the Beast (1991) opens with Belle’s entire village singing a song about how beautiful, funny and unique Belle is. Belle, in turn, sings about how pathetic and simple the villagers’ lives are. This establishes that Belle is a stone cold b**ch who thinks she is better than everyone else
Yes, saying they're singing about how she's "unique" is purposefully putting a nicer spin on it than the song intended. They say she's a "funny girl" as in weird, they don't mean having a good sense of humor. And "behind that fair facade, I'm afraid she's rather odd," "peculiar," "dazed and distracted," and "nothing like the rest of us." Belle barely sings about the people. Mostly just about how she loves her books, every day in the village is the same/not exciting, and how there must be more to life than living in a small, country town (with people who don't accept her and judge her, by the way).
Load More Replies...🎶Look there she goes that girl is so peculiar, I wonder if she's feeling weeeeelllll🎶
There's a lyric in the film during the song where the townspeople are going to kill the beast. It goes: "we don't like what we don't understand in fact it scares us and this monster is mysterious at least." So yeah. The townspeople were not good people. Also, they cut that part out of the live action movie. I wonder why????
Don't let it. Some miserable person wrote that. Belle is only singing about her books and how there "must be something more" than living in a small, country town. Meanwhile, the villagers are singing that yeah, she's pretty, but she's odd, weird, peculiar, probably mental "is she feeling well?" All sorts of rude stuff. All belle wants is to go somewhere she is accepted, not outcasted.

"It's an archetypal movie nerd activity to comb over tiny fleeting details from a film and then interpret all kinds of things into them," Williams noted. "The filmmakers obviously love that anybody is paying such close attention and therefore perform this fan service to reward their loyal followers."
"As long as nobody takes it or themselves too seriously (and sadly, often they do!), I think it's a great way of introducing people to what you can get from paying close attention to the details of a film's mise-en-scene so it can be a nice gateway to film analysis," the film historian added.
In the movie Don't Look Up, Leonardo DiCaprio is shown married to a woman who's in her mid 40s. This confirms that the movie is sci-fi because it's impossible for DiCaprio to be with a woman if she's over 25.
Did John Oliver write this? it definitely feels like something John Oliver would say
I wasn’t a big fan of his, only seen him in pics when the paparazzis has him at a beach or yacht with some young model, fast forward, saw in him this movie and man…..
Let's not ignore the fact that those glasses are too small for his face.
Or did his face get too wide for those glasses?

In Frozen (2013), Anna sings about how she is so alone, despite having dozens of servants that work in the castle daily. This is because royalty don't see staff as people, but more like a kind of mobile furniture. She would rather talk to paintings than to speak with Kai, her lifelong valet
Even the servants probably wouldn't dare talk to her since y'know "rules"
In fact, it was quite common a few centuries back that servants would not respect the masters if they were treated too well, and especially if they were treated as equals. They wanted to see themselves as belonging to a powerful, proud (meaning arrogant) master. People are weird.

When asked why it is so rewarding to find or learn about hidden tidbits in films online, Boyce thinks it comes down to an expression of a person’s fandom. "We like to feel special, included. This is a small way we can do this," he explained.
"For some, simply knowing they’re aware of something most people aren’t is more than enough to feel special. Others will attempt to share their knowledge with others (usually people utterly uninterested in that level of detail) by pointing out all the details." Then, there's a whole other category of people who "use this to gatekeep fandoms and exclude fans who aren’t in on the eggs — if you don’t know then you’re not a 'real' fan," Boyce stated.
In Silence of the Lambs (1991) the FBI cake in the finale is cut in a way so that justice is served
Or at least so that justice is 57% served, which is more than we usually get.
In Free Guy (2021), multiple characters comment on how physically attractive the main character is. This is a reference to the fact that Ryan Reynolds was not only the lead actor of the film but also the producer
It's also a reference to the fact that Ryan Reynolds is good looking enough to pull it off.
Or maybe it's a nod to Ryan Reynolds being listed as the "sexiest man alive" in people magazine in 2010 and having a sense of humor about it.
If you notice in the marvel series Moon Knight Oscar Isaac plays 3 leading roles and also references how handsome he is, to himself. He produced the series.
In the early days of the MCU, many actors had to go shirtless in order to save costs on the wardrobe budget.
Is it just me or does it look as though "dad heads" have been photo-shopped onto "dude bods" in these pictures?
These guys spent lots of time getting these bods. Might as well show them off.
If I was this magnificent I would go shirtless too! Well, maybe a bra, but that’s it!
I used to be a fitness trainer, and I can tell you that getting bodies like these requires an incredible amount of discipline and hard work. Having a team of professional trainers, cooks, and dieticians doesn't hurt, either. 🙂
Why the hell are they all so buff, I get it's a requirement, but can't there just be one marvel character whose just a middle aged dad who just wants to take a nap but he can't but his super power is the ability to make all his dreams come into the real world
Is it just me, but in this scene Chris Pratt looks like a human Cheeto 😂
That's because they'd just given him a tomato soup bath

As it turns out, masses of film enthusiasts on the internet love it. "I think some people poke fun at this because it's really easy to poke fun at something you’re passionate about," Boyce guessed why we’re so eager and entertained to read these made-up facts.
"We’re vulnerable to the things we love," he continued. "Most people poke fun in a lighthearted manner, but because some people take their fandoms so seriously, it can sometimes lead to hurt. But then we’re always hurt by what we love, right?"
In Captain America (2011), a defrosted Steve Rogers stares in confusion as to why Nick Fury is giving orders, this is a nod to the fact that Steve Rogers came from a racist timeline

In Pacific Rim (2013), the opening monologue states that humanity threw aside all past political and social rivalries to stand united against a world-changing disaster. This is proof the movie is a work of fiction
Probably would have been different if they had to wear a mask or were asked to use their cars less.
After the past two years, we will never be able to look at disaster movies again without laughing sarcastically
It probably wouldn't be if everyone would just get there heads of there asses
To be fair, this is a sci-fi trope that goes back at least to Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan and was also at the center of Watchmen.
Encanto (2021) is a classic magical realism movie. It blends realism, like a traditional Colombian village, with things that are impossible, such as an abuela admitting she was wrong about something.

In Morbius (2022), there's a scene where Detective Rodriguez tries to lure a cat by shaking its litter box and saying, "here kitty kitty." The idea that you can attract something by shaking a box of s**t in front of it is a reference to Sony promoting this film to us for 2 years
He should have started cleaning it. Cats will run to use a freshly cleaned litter box just to ruin your work.
It’s true… whenever my boyfriend scoops the living room box, both of our cats will sit there and WAIT IN LINE to poop in the freshly-scooped box. It does not matter what time of the day the box gets scooped or how many times a day it gets scooped… the cats both somehow have poops in the chute ready to go.

In The Batman (2022), Selina's electric bill is $492.64 for her small apartment. This explains why the movie is so freaking dark since no one can afford to pay their light bills
Oh, I heard Batman is missing payments on his electricity bill, I guess its gonna be a Dark Night.
Those strays got the AC going, the fridge open and the dryer all day long.

In Wonder Woman 1984, Steve is amazed by an escalator despite them being commonly used in stores by the time he died in 1918. This is a reference to how bad the script is

With all due respect I'm pretty amazed by them whenever I'm on one too 💁
That movie was more of a disaster then justice league and THAT'S saying something
Bored Panda previously managed to get in touch with one of the moderators of this community, Merari01, who explained that the subreddit was created when the top mod "saw an opening in the market." "People on reddit love making silly jokes and puns. There's lots of in-jokes and running gags and that makes a good breeding ground for playfully memeing in the context of movies," the moderator explained the reason behind the group’s success.
Merari01 revealed that many people get mixed up "all the time," don’t notice the sarcasm, and take the posts on the subreddit seriously. But according to the moderator, "It’s part of the fun."

things took quite a turn with the final installment of the trilogy
In RoboCop (1987) RoboCop kills numerous people even though Asimov's Laws of Robotics should prevent a robot from harming humans. This is a reference to the fact that laws don't actually apply to cops
important distinction! if anyone's wondering, a robot is entirely inorganic and AI, whereas a cyborg is part organic (ie. a human with a bionic limb). and by definition, cyborgs exist today! someone with hearing aids is a cyborg. someone with a prosthetic is a cyborg. they aren't all high-tech futuristic and fictional

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry is surprised to discover there are other magic schools in the world apart from Hogwarts. This is a reference to how self centered British education system is, as they haven't mentioned a single foreign wizard in 3 years of history of magic class.
That's because all history of magic classes are based on goblin rebellions
That is, when the characters are paying enough attention to know what the classes are even about. :)

Also all the wizards are racist in Harry Potter, they have all this magic and they won't help humans solve global warming or create world peace

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) in addition to using magic outside Hogwarts, Hermione fixes Harry's glasses but not his vision because she is not as smart as everyone thinks she is
She said that she’d been practicing basic spells, and fixing broken metal is simpler than healing someone’s eyesight
You're aloud to use magic outside of school on the Hogwarts express
She likes men with glasses on, she's got some sort of...attraction to them
I wondered aloud why Harry Potter needs glasses. The best explanation I've heard is that his vision loss was due to extremely high-level magic (Voldemort's curse), so repairing his vision would need magic that was at least as high-level. Makes sense, because mostly people who have dealt with serious s**t wear glasses (Dumbledore, Minerva, Moody, Luna,... I presume Skeeter's are worn as an affect). (Also, yeah, I know Luna rarely wears hers.) THE BEST ANSWER was my then 7-year-old son's: they helped him stay anonymous.

New challenge: Make a new cut of Superman movies, but only show Superman from the neck down - look to see if they get better, since now he could actually be anyone.
In Titanic (1997), there are a lot of similarities between the old lady’s story and what happens to Rose, implying they might be the same person.
Nooo? Huh. Well... That certainly put the events in another perspective. Also explain why Di Caprio´s character ´dies´ when she turns 26...
Yes! It's actually been tested. Rose coulda moved over

In Joker (2020) Joaquin Phoenix had to live in Bulgaria for 2 weeks so he would become depressed and play the role better
Oh but he lived in Trump´s and Tucker Carlson´s America.. I think that made him overqualified for the role anf he had to cheer up a bit. Hence Bulgaria.
If that’s the case, we’re all qualified to play the joker….

Dude watched his bro die in front of him. I highly doubt he needed anything to conjure up some depression.
Before the final battle in Morbius (2022), Dr. Morbius prepares a weaponized anticoagulant, explaining that "to bats... it's lethal. To humans, it's deadly." Who the f**k wrote this s**t
Precisely. It's stupidly redundant. And I quote my husband, the movie nut, on that. I fell asleep.

If you used Morbius' anticoagulant on Kirk Langstrom, would it kill him or kill him?
Morbius was great, though! Maybe I'm a bit biased, since it was a vampire movie...

In Justice League (2017) Superman is seen carrying an entire building. This shows that even physics has given up on this movie at this point
In Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) Doctor Octopus throws a Nissan Altima at Peter. This is actually an incredibly intelligent move on the Doctor's part as he knows that Nissan owners normally drive like that anyways, thus giving him plausible deniability if he was charged with damaging the car
I did a little log many years ago to note what kind of car was involved in stupid mistakes that I personally witnessed. 80% of the time, it was aNissan.
For me, it's been Hondas. If there is ever anyone driving carelessly or even creeping along blocking traffic on a two-lane road it's always been a Honda driver.

He immediately follows that up with "His stuff comes in the mail" or something close to it. Also, Peter is actually IN THE ROOM and Jameson doesn't look at him while being questioned.
