Basque Artist Bought A Land Plot With Build-In Ruins Of An Abandoned For Decades, A 16th-Century Church. After 3 Years Of Renovation, This Is The Final Appearance Of His New Home In Northern Spain
Can we take a minute to appreciate the dedication that went into this? It looks like it was a ruin before, only the chapel was still intact, there is a new roof on the main part and the top of the walls had also crumbled.
Just noting that the lounge chairs with ottomans are €7500 each. So even (especially) if made from ruins, this home is extremely expensive.
Load More Replies...Anyway to include the past just makes our 'now' more meaningful...
I love to see the thought that went into this space, taking advantage of all that remained to create this beautiful home.
A Minimalist Hotel Room In The Mountains Of Turkey {design By Selami Bektaş}
It's just the tub though, not the toilet etc. It's so you can relax in the tub and take that view in. I absolutely love it!
Load More Replies...Linda Merrill, the owner of an award-winning interior design & decoration firm Linda Merrill Decorative Surroundings, said that function is the first thing we should be looking at when designing and decorating a room.
"A kitchen can be pretty - but if it's not doing its job of helping make kitchen work productive then it's not a successful design no matter how pretty it might look," Merrill told Bored Panda. "Examples of bad design might be: too many steps to take between appliances, too many barriers like a dishwasher or refrigerator doors that block walkways, no safe place to put a hot pot down, no place to put grocery bags to easily empty them into the fridge, surface materials that are hard to clean and maintain. A bathroom where we might shave or put on makeup needs appropriate lighting for those tasks."
Municipal Law Library (Juristische Bibliothek) In Munich, Germany
Stunning. I absolutely would love walls of the books. Spiral staircases. And hot chocolate. Where is the hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate, and candles or lamps on all the tables. The staircases are the most beautiful things, even if my knees are complaining when I just look at them.

Load More Replies...It's -35º C with -46 wind chill where I am right now. Can't get excited about winter, I'm afraid.
Yeah it was -21 here this morning and I simply cannot get warm.
Load More Replies...Beautiful, but I've lived in snow... I just can't look past the work... But, a gorgeous room
But as a designer Merrill highlighted that aesthetics are equally important. "We want to be excited by our spaces - whether in our own or in our clients' homes. A modern minimalist may love a perfectly executed kitchen that solves all needs but is plain and stark. However, even though it is functionally perfect, a minimalist kitchen won't be attractive to a maximalist person who loves traditional forms and lots of colors."
Conversely, a minimalist will probably hate a maximalist kitchen loaded with stuff, even if it's functionally well-designed. "Basically, the balance between form and function is like a dance. Too much focus on one may leave the other sadly lacking. But not speaking to the owner's aesthetic vision will also be a disappointing endeavor."
A Little Garden In The House Of Small Wonder In Berlin
The room is beautiful but I don't get why there's a ladder on the floor.
Now this looks like a place where I could cuddle up with a good book, a steaming mug of tea, and a fun art projects.
I absolutely love the way this looks, but I would exchange the ladder for a very comfy place to sit and read.
Pool At The Landa Hotel In Burgos, Spain, Photographed By Ana Himes
That window is absolutely stunning-- I love the iron work.
This is beautiful, even if I am not a huge fan of indoor pools. Those windows would be breathtaking in ANY room.
An important addition that can enhance both function and form is comfort. Like comfortable seating (which, according to Linda Merrill is worth spending more on) and a comfortable layout.
"Don’t fall for every trendy and especially don't try to shoehorn in all the currently trendy things into one design - because trends come and go and they don't always all go together!" she added.
When looking for inspiration, Merrill advised thinking of a room like a haircut. "The best hairstyles fit the hair texture as well as face and lifestyle of the wearer," she said. And when you think about it, the same applies to rooms.
"Their architecture, the way the light hits them, and how much regular work do we want to do to keep it looking great; it’s great to take inspiration from magazines or Pinterest, but remember that photos are only a snapshot of a space and don’t usually show the full context of a home. Finally, just have fun!"

The Pool Area At Riad Yasmine, A Private Boutique Hotel Located In Marrakech, Morocco
I feel I am getting a little too overexcited at some of these rooms with houseplants haha! This is exsquisite.
This is exquisite-- I adore Moroccan architecture. I could spend hours lounging by the pool and reading on a hot, summer day.
This would make an absolutely stunning home. But that would be for the Uber Rich so I’m glad it’s shared with the public.
Nice architecture but look at these mattresses or sofa. Dirty as hell.

Sunken Living Room Under A High Vaulted Ceiling Surrounded By The Tropical Greenery Of Bali, Indonesia
Oh this is wonderful. It's so lush and full of life! I would love to wake up in the morning and walk down the stairs to trees and foliage, so inviting!
Stunning, but it doesn't look like a home. More like a hotel? It's so... curated and pristine. Wish it was a little more wild and had more personal touches from the people who live there, like personal decor or pictures on the wall or something.
Load More Replies...I love this. But yet again... stairs with no railings. Has no one ever had their knees pop when they go to stand up?
It's very faint, but there are glass railings if you look closely.
Load More Replies...I bet Indonesia does have some big ones... but it looks like the house is all enclosed, so maybe there aren't a lot of bugs inside.
Load More Replies...Love almost every bit of this- just not those hanging grass lamps, although they probably look cool at night when lit.
I love the sunken sitting area, the plants and the walkway, but the stairway without a handrail is a no-go and with these oh so popular vast open spaces I always feel as cozy and at home as in a train station or a stadium.
love love these seating pits. Such a pity they are so very inpractical and need so much space (i.e. money) to create.

This is so cute! I love the climbing vine over the window, lovely!
They converted an old woodworking bench into a brunch island, or that's what I'd call it; anyway it all looks fantastic.
At #31 presently my favourite by far! Not too big (I dislike open floor plans - all the cozyness of gymnasiums), not too sterile (i.e. all black/white, not lived in) and actually about the room, not the view (though there were some fantastic ones there!)
I love how the dining table appears tobe an old woodworking table (judging by the vice on the side!) and all the plants and natural light.. its perfect. x3

Looks empty. Does anyone live there? They need some plants and colorful artwork.
Warning: side effects include spontaneously breaking into Logan and Hammerstein tunes
I don’t know if it’s the same in Chile but here in Florida have houses on the beach or right on any body of water is kind of a way of flaunting your richness. Like “I don’t care if my house floods or gets destroyed because I have the money to fix it”.
Hey! That's not at all the case in Chile. Lost of houses were in fact destroyed by a tsunami in 2010. Thousands of people scaped literally with their clothes on and nothing else. Most of them build their houses again in the same place, but after a long time and through enormous effort. Truth is people who live by the ocean really love it :).

Minorca or The Azores, this is where I want to live. Good people, kind people, giving and sharing people. I'm so tired of all the American greedy lifestyle. All you need is a roof over your head, medical care, room for a garden, and your family, all safe and sound from the morons.
The Canary Islands (Islas Canarias) are also stunning and quite affordable if you enjoy the great outdoors and an active lifestyle that includes a lot of hiking, swimming, surfing, and boating. The only downside is that you have to have some expert driving skills as the islands' unique topographys make for some pretty spectacular hills and switch-backs. I would love to visit the Azores in the future though.

It has a breakfast nook! I love nooks! I swear I've seen this in my dreams.

What’s with all the black in some of these rooms? I know grey has been very fashionable and I wasn’t fond of that, but I find black walls oppressive. It draws my eye too much and makes the furnishings seem secondary to the slap in the face of brutalist black wall.
I like light greys because they make the wall art pop, but black/dark rooms just look like people want to be vampires. Especially when the walls and ceiling are classically decorated and instead of painting the trim a complementary color they just cover everything in black.

Freestanding Tub Under A Skylight In The Bathroom Of A Renovated Victorian House, Hackney, East London, UK
Hackney used to be known for how poor it was and how virtually all the people who lived there were on benefits. It was also known for it's vast array of cultures and food. Then gentrification happened and so many people lost their homes to expensive housing (standard rent was £1000 for a tiny unfurnished room in a small shared flat, it was mad) Now millionaires live there and they even have a Michelin star restaurant. All the struggling families have gone. It used to be so vibrant and have food markets from all over the world, some of the families had lived there for 50+ years. That's all gone. It's all vegans and Masterchef now.
The floor tiling makes me think of waffles. If I stare at it for too long I start to feel dizzy.
The pigeons and seagulls on your skylight will have a fantastic view xD
Apartment Kitchen Clad Entirely In Black Tiles With An Eat-In Banquette, New York City
$2.5 milliin for tge same lack of counter space I have in the midwest.
I love dark colours but this is a bit too much.. especially for a smaller "galley" kitchen, it makes it seems really cramped..

No to the niche in the shower. No shower door or curtains just isn't great. Trust me.

The whole house is gorgeous! Built in 1904 by Samuel Newsom in a Classic Revival style and it's located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. From the roof top patio who have unobstructed views of the bay and Alcatraz. Price tag is around 25 Mio Dollars.
What's the house called or how do I search for it?

I just keep thinking that people who put these Persian rugs in their kitchens and bathrooms are not really cooking or showering in them.
I'm hoping it's a half bath with no shower, no one in their right mind would put that gorgeous cabinet (with books!) in a full bath where the humidity would ruin it (I hope anyways!)

Where can I sign up for the lottery win it would require me to pay for one of these houses?
I'm glad I can afford to look at the pictures of these, b/c I can't afford any of them.
Haven't played in year but I need to. That's the only way I'll ever be able to afford anything like this lol.

There's just something about the greenery that adds a whole new level of charm and freshness. Houses are great, but please, more plants! They bring life and vibrancy that's hard to beat.
