Since that’s not the case, some unsung heroes have done everyone a public service and are calling out that BS, whether big or small. There’s even the whole subreddit community r/quityourbulls**t dedicated to documenting their deeds and sharing the screenshots that prove we live in a world with that much less BS.
This time, we’re looking at the best BS callouts of the year that delivered the burn straight to the target. Because let’s face it, 2020 has been too much already, and if there’s anything we can’t handle anymore, it’s people talking nonsense while we work our way to survival.

The Reddit community Quit Your B*****it, which shares screenshots of people calling out BS, was created in 2013 and has since amassed a whopping 1.5 million members.
On August 19th, 2013, one redditor titled GreenMagine shared a Facebook conversation in which someone was accused of lying about their engagement. The post has received more than 3,000 points (96% upvoted) and 400 comments in a little over six years. That day, another Reddit user menderslan stated that they "wish there was a whole subreddit for this, like r/quityourbullshit or something." The rest was history.
Meanwhile, r/Quit Your B*****it rose to fame in March 2017 when it made one of its earliest popular posts when someone shared a post by Arnold Schwarzenegger responding to a troll who criticized the Special Olympics. Over three years, it got 41,000 points and 950 comments.The community is still active to this day, calling out any type of lies, fake news, and plain nonsense which happens all too often these days.

White people ended slavery....by defeating the other white people that didn't think blacks should be treated as humans. Now 135 years later, there are white people who still insist on waving the same defeated flag that fought to keep slavery alive, and fought to divide the country. Praise the white people for saving us from the white people! Now the whites must unite again to stand up to the rising threat of whites!

Not just white people. The 54th infantry in the Civil War was a volunteer Black unit. There's a great movie called Glory about it, actually.

Actually, Britain banned the slave trade in 1807, and even then there was still slavery. They stopped it completely later in the 1800’s. But still before the US.

Ironically, at the battle of the Alamo the Mexican army were anti-slavery, while some of the American defenders owned slaves. And the Mexicans did not kill everyone there. But she's even wrong with the who died for it part too. The Confederate War, the war between north and south that was fought by whites AND blacks. It was the war to end slavery BUT NOT segregation, and more African American soldiers had a higher mortality rate because lack of warfare equipment AND lack of field medicine. They even had some of their own (white soldiers) commit crimes against them in the field, such as sabatoshing equipment, not providing payment for them or families. threatening taking their freedom (even though that was why they were fighting, FOR FREEDOM), and/or killing/murdering them on "accident". Boom mic drop. BLM.

That was a partial ban (only men over 21 and women over 18 were to be freed) but it was not strongly enforced. 200 years earlier, in 1574, the Philippines abolished slavery by royal decree.

Why yay? Portugal played a leading role in the Atlantic Slave Trade, which was outlawed by Portugal in 1836, but slavery in the Portuguese colonies was only abolished in 1869. English chocolate makers stopped buying cocoa beans from Portuguese colonies in the 20th century because of the appalling way the "labourers" were treated.

The Civil war wasn't started to free the slaves. It was started because of Money. Money was the driving point and freeing the slaves was lower on that list of driving forces. Lincoln himself changed his view on Slavery when he realized that freeing the slaves would be a good thing. Learn your history, Lincoln's origional idea of freedom was sending all of them back to Africa. A larger percentage of abolitionists than you think had the same idea. The only two presidents in the slave era that never owned slaves personally were John Adams and his son John Q Adams. Yes there were slaves in the white house but both were anti slavery though Q. Adams had a similar thoughts to Lincoln's he ultimately opposed him in politics about it. John Q. Adams is someone more people should read about. In his later years he was lead defense on the Amistad trial.

Well, that's not true. The history of slavery in Europe has been forgotten. I understand that you don't know any slaves or slave owners, and you probably weren't taught of it at school, but slavery existed in Italy right up until the 19th century, and if you look at the Global Slavery Index website under Italy you'll find that it still exists there. Consider reading "Abolitionism and the Persistence of Slavery in Italian States, 1750–1850" by Giulia Bonazza. Amazon has it, I think.

This is one of the reasons I love being a paralegal. I wound up having to actually sue a former landlord because we found out the septic system had been broken since before we moved in and we were living for months with raw sewage in our yard and seeping through our walls. When you are completely factoring out the energy it takes to get the data to all the customers through switches, repeaters, routers and modems, and the energy that all the devices use to show that movie, that's a fairly accurate calculation based on the false assumption that Netflix can serve multiple customers at 1 cent an hour.

Generally only small, indie magazines have the author of the article also the headliner guy. They even tested this one on Mythbusters (well okay, it was Chinese Water Torture, but similar principle). The guy who was allowed to just lie there and leave at any time was fine. The other person, who was chained up and unable to move, became extremely distressed almost right away and actually started sobbing in panic before they hastily ended it. It's never just the water. It's about making the victim feel terrified and helpless.
