I Challenged Myself To Paint One Painting A Day For 100 Days With Gouache – A Medium I’ve Never Used Before (30 Pics)
In February, I moved back to my hometown and started sketching with ink, because I was in between jobs, and then COVID-19 hit. I thought it would be good for me to do a 100 days challenge to keep a daily structure.
Although I really like ink, I've always wanted to learn more about colors and paint. So I decided to give it a go with gouache, a medium I had never used before.
Now, I'm halfway down the 100 days challenge! I'm in love with gouache. It is such a versatile and forgiving medium. The vibrant colors make me very happy.
For the first 50 days, I used many reference photos (credit is on my Instagram) and for the next 50 days, I'm going to use my own photos or my imagination.
It is a tough challenge, but also a great learning experience. I really hope you enjoy my paintings and that those colors make your day a little brighter!

I love the views of wire and industry- it makes me think of some of the setting shots in anime I like :)
This one evokes a feeling within me which says there has to be a story with it. Perhaps, I am feeling nostalgic. How about I write a piece for each of your painting. Aaah, what the hell, could I do it?
You can take everyday items you see and you make it a price of art (literally)

Do you use rulers or are that talented that you simply do it with symmetry? Ugh, this is why I could never draw, it's requires so much patience and if it's not symmetric then what's the point?
Actually, if you see the individual lines, they aren't straight... It's the whole composition that makes it look good! You don't have to draw extremely perfect lines to draw anything... In fact, some sort of differences makes it look better even

Gouache is as opaque as acrylics but also has watercolour properties. Thank you for your compliment!
Load More Replies... These are terrific. Gouache is definitely your medium. Love the light effects, the bold color in the shadows, and the prosaic subject matter (crosswalk, power lines, cup of coffee). I paint some, and these are the images I see in my mind but don't (yet) have the skill to render. I hope you will come back and show the next 50!

I love how some are super simple and some are complex. These are amazing,captured the simplest things I love it.
