Pixar has its roots as part of the Lucasfilm computer division back in 1979. It was only in 1986 that it became a corporation with funding from Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. While in 2006, Disney bought Pixar for a whopping 7.4 billion dollars.

In “Toy Story 4,” Mr Potato Head Is Voiced Posthumously By Don Rickles (Who Passed Away In 2017)
The Pixar team mined through more than two decades of Rickles’ voice sessions, outtakes for other films, theme parks, toys,...etc. to piece together the performance.
There is an unwritten Aretha (as in Franklin) law that states one can never misspell R E S P E C T. :D Just thought you should know.
Load More Replies...Wow, that is actually pretty cool, especially the time and effort it would have taken to do that.
At a small fraction of the price they could have hired a voice imitator to do it seamlessly, so yes a crazy effort/tribute.
Load More Replies...In The Pixar Logo After The Credits Of Wall-E, Wall-E Replaces Luxo Jr.’s Lightbulb With An Environmental Friendly Bulb After His “Round” Bulb Goes Out
Cute, but also fitting for Wall-E, since that movie was about saving the eco-system!
Load More Replies...This bulb is not environmentally friendly. It is only energy efficient. It contains electricity, mercury and phosphorus and is difficult to recycle.
Wanted to upvote this, but then I got to the part that says "it contains electricity". Also, CFLs are covered with phosphor, not phosphorus.
Load More Replies...Luxo jr was actually the first animation they did (With the ball) and it was very (VERY) early internet -- but I found a clip of it on the website back then, when it got an award for best short (I believe). I have loved that little lamp ever since.
In Up (2009), Dug Is The Only Dog To Successfully Track Down The Tropical Bird Because He Is The Only Hunting Dog (Golden Retriever). All The Others Are Guard Dog Breeds
I love how these movies are actually paying attention to facts! Keep it up, pixar!
When I was small, I wanted a toy of that doberman so bad. Never did get one.
The animation studio likes to make constant but subtle references in its movies. Not only does it sprinkle little hints that help tie each film in with all the others, but it also likes to refer to the real world. Not to mention all the metaphors hidden throughout!
It’s because of these hidden details that there are plenty of people out there who believe that every single Pixar movie happens in the same universe and that each film is connected. In fact, hidden details have inspired some fans to try and piece all the movies together into a single, coherent timeline.
Whenever Characters Play Guitar In The Movie, Their Hands Form The Actual Chords Corresponding To The Music... Even Though It Would've Been Easy To Just Fake It
Actual actors don't do this bollywood movies.. they simply moves hands up and down..
Load More Replies...Just look at the neck of the guitar. The animator put enough attention to ensure that the frets are realistically spaced, so I was already expecting that they would pay attention to the chording hand.
This is quality.
I noticed this and loved it! I used to play guitar, and it always lowkey OFFENDED me if the characters faked it, haha.
yep, because he practiced 40 hours a day for 8 days a week.
Load More Replies...Damn. I didn't pay nearly enough attention. Then again it IS a movie about music.
In "Up" (2009), Ellie's Things Are Rounded While Carl's Things Are Square, Matching Their Respective Character Designs
Wow, that´s a really cool detail. It also shows their personalities, since Carl is more rigid and Ellie seems more well-rounded and like an out of the box thinker.
To your point, a person with Bruxism (jaw clenching) will have a square jaw as the masseter muscles get stronger and stronger. Carl is most definitely a jaw clenched.
Load More Replies...Also read somewhere that when Ellie is still alive there is always some red item/light around her, and that disappears after she dies. But the color slowly comes back after Russel becomes more important in Carl's life
Just the thought of the two of them tears me up. I can never watch this movie without taking a break for crying
I'd always noticed this and thought it was really funny that their chairs were shaped like them
Everyone: he’s rigid while Ellie’s is outta the box! Me: so that’s why his fingers look like thick French toast
Incredibles (2004) Elastagirl’s Original Suit Was Red And Mr. Incredible’s Suit Was Blue, Their First Child’s Name? Violet
I still don't understand how a redhead and a blonde could have a black-haired child
Might skip generations - if their parents had black or dark hair it's possible

Also she was a Shrinking Violet at the beginning, so very shy. So many hidden meanings
For example, Jon Negroni has painstakingly outlined just what happens in this universe by creating the so-called Pixar Theory.
Others have even created websites like this one based on that theory. (Spoiler alert, apparently, Monsters, Inc. happens sometime between the year 4500 and 5000, and involves time travel because humans have, supposedly, been wiped out.)
For Monsters Inc. (2001) Due To Mary Gibbs Who Played Boo Being So Young, It Was Difficult To Get Her To Stay In The Recording Booth To Perform Her Lines. So They Decided To Follow Her Around With A Microphone And Cut Her Lines Together Using The Random Things/Noises She Say Whilst Playing
I'd assume it IS pretty darn hard to get an actual kid to memorize or say certain stuff
My wee factlet. While I am not related to Mary (Boo), my aunt Jo is also her aunt! My kids loooove knowing this!
This is one of my favorites, because Boo looks just like my granddaughter Chloe when she was about 3.

I wish it would have shown them free too! That always bugged me😂

For A Scene In Ratatouille (2007) Where Linguini Is Wet From Jumping In The River, They Got A Member Of Crew (Kesten Migdal) To Jump In A Swimming Pool In A Chef's Uniform To See Where The Uniform Would Normally Stick To On The Body When Wet

In One Closeup Shot, You Can See That Andy Marked The Height Of His Various Toys Against The Door Jamb
if you pay attention, this is in (i believe) toy story 1 where andy is marking off the toys' height after his mom marks his height. im glad that the animators remembered to add this into toy story 3 where this shot is taken
I think that was actually the opening scene of "Toy Story 3" when this happened, but it was a video showing Andy when he was the same age as he was in the first movie.

In this bit when the arrow is loosed in slow mo... it's 100% accurate. It demonstrates the "Archers Paradox" in perfect detail.
They had anyway a "little" help from Nvidia Hairworks technology, that was used as "middle interpreter". "Brave" was the field test for it. The software developed then by Pixar is called "Presto" and is hardcoded on specific Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000 GPUs (48GB VRam) in use at the studio itself.
And I mostly noticed absence of the brace... Although archery is quite well done here.

After Cars (2006) Lost Out On The Oscar For Best Animated Movie To Happy Feet (2006), Which Utilized Motion Capture, Pixar Placed A "Quality Assurance Guarantee" At The End Of Their Next Movie Ratatouille (2007) To Remind The Academy They Animate Every Single Frame Of Their Movies Manually
Motion capture doesn't have less quality. Animators still have to go through each frame to refine. It's simply a way to get realistic expression and movement, similar to how some drawn Disney movies used actors and even live sets to give animators realistic models to work off of. Clearly Pixar puts a lot of detail and effort into their animation. But saying that motion capture is of lesser quality is like saying that computer animation is of lesser quality compared to drawn animation, which is of course not true, they're simply different methods. Plus a movie is judged by more than its animation. Instead of recognizing this Pixar acts like a sore loser.
It's not the same thing as using live action references. While yes, animators still have to tweak the motion capture, it's still faster and cheaper to use, and it often looks REALLY uncanny, as it did in Happy Feet, which did NOT deserve the Oscar.
