Hey, my name is Adam, I'm 35 and I'm a Polish social media manager in Berlin. I've been drawing funny comics for a couple of years now, which helped me deal with my depression.
My protagonist is my alter ego, Depression Chicken. Chicken is a fluffy, yellow creature who often has a bad day and feels misunderstood by society. He is single and trying to work on his self-confidence. He is accompanied by Birdfish, his best friend, who often has good advice for him, and by the cute Axolotl, with whom he can have a lot of fun.

I wish society would just agree that it is completely acceptable, not to mention much more realistic, for one to reply like fluffy yellow chicken did.... I mean, America is on the brink of a civil war, inflation is the worst it has been in 40 yrs.... And you expect me, or anyone, (other than the billionaires) to have a nice day? HA! I hope a trend starts and we all start answering in earnest lol.... We might just enjoy the comedic relief 😏
The artistic process behind the creation of my comics has helped me a lot in dealing with my depression. When I addressed my problems in this form, I was able to get to know myself better and accept myself better. But what impressed me the most was the feedback from the community. Many people who follow me on Instagram received my comics with great gratitude and could relate to them. This gave me the feeling that I am not alone with my problems.

I generally find the feedback from my community super. Most of my comics are based on very short dialogues with sharp punchlines and seem to be received by my community exactly as I intended. Apparently, there are many other Chickens in this world who understand my thoughts well and deal with similar issues.

So far, I only publish my comics on the internet on my profiles on Instagram and TikTok. My big dream is to write a book - a mix of a novel and a comic in which I write about my depression. It would be more personal than my Instagram content, but the Chicken would certainly not be missing there.

What sucks is... as an adult, and having come to the understanding that the world is full of a*s#oles whose life purpose is to just be the biggest a*s out there, it's easy for me to dismiss them (and tell them to f-off if I need to lol).... Yet the damage was done for me at least in middle school. I was bullied really bad... I really haven't been the same since.

Still going through this. I have covid and either can't taste or have a nasty smell/taste. It's my birthday in a day and I had to tell everyone not to get me a cake cuz I can't even taste it or have people over.

I'm so sorry, that really sucks. I hope it gets better. Sometimes it gets better on its own without any help. But if not, there are some therapy places that offer smell training or you can try to do the training on your own. Maybe it could help but it'll take time

I caught covid late last August (July of the following year as of posting this) my sense of smell is still not normal. I can't smell a lot of things at all, and nothing that I can smell smells like it used to. You wouldn't think this would bother most people, but imagine putting on clean-smelling deodorant and it smells like a bag of sour gummy worms, or walking into an ice cream shop and instead of vanilla you get punched in the face with a strong alcohol/chemical scent.
