I’ve seen so many of these! Always a surprise to see purple things in the woods. Pretty sure they’re purplish cortinarius
I think it's a violet cort like L3mon_D3mon said, and if so one way they identify different types of these is to lick the top and see if it's really bitter. Of course don't do this unless you're absolutely certain/with a professional

Cyclocybe aegerita, also called Agrocybe cylindracea, Agrocybe aegerita or Pholiota aegerita,[1] is a mushroom in the genus Cyclocybe which is commonly known as the poplar mushroom,[1] or velvet pioppini (Chinese: cha shu gu, 茶树菇, literally "Tea Tree Mushroom"[2]). In Japan, it is called Yanagi-matsutake (Japanese:柳松茸).[3] Thank you Google

That looks like a Calocera Viscosa (Stagshorn) which grows on wood, especially stumps, and has a rubbery texture (it's a jelly fungus). Ramaria tend to grow on the ground near beech and sometimes pine, often in fairy rings.

Amanita Muscaria, Another Beautiful And Dangerous Mushroom!
Noch ein Fliegenpilz ;-). They are so pretty, shame they are also dangerous.
Its medicinal and has never killed anyone. Contains toxins but is not dangerous.
not really - amanita muscaria is only poisonous if you ingest it

They start as a really strange egg-like white spheres (i think it's called a veil in English?) and then break free from it). In amanita mushrooms you can find the remains of it at the bottom, called a volva, which is one of their tell-tale signs actually.

Hygrophoropsis Aurantiaca, False Cantharellus, Very Beautiful And Very Poisonous
The info on whether the false Cantharellus in poisonous is inconclusive, some sources say it can give you food poisoning while in many areas of the world the mushroom is eaten after proper treatment (i.e soaking for 3 days and then boiling for 15 min once or twice). That being said, it's not worth it to try and as a general rule, please don't eat, pick up or touch with bare hands the mushrooms you can't positively identify as edible.
Your last statement is incredibly false and misleading. Mushrooms do not poison you through the skin. You can even do a spit test with a very poisonous mushroom and live to tell the tale. Mushrooms are only poisonous when ingested. Agree with you on the rest though, the #1 rule of foraging: if you're not 100% sure on the ID, don't do it. Also, always cook thoroughly, and try a small piece, wait 15 minutes, before you eat the rest, since certain mushrooms can cause reactions in some based on growing conditions.
Load More Replies...That's the thing about mushrooms: I love eating them, but I would never trust myself to pick them. I guess, I keep going to the grocery store.
You'd be surprised, the most commonly identified edible mushrooms, at least in my area are fairly difficult to mis-id (such as chicken of the woods, oyster, morel, chanterelle). I'd say buy a field guide for your area and just learn to ID! Also usually mushroom hunting or mycology groups in areas that have foraging forays, and that's a great way to learn too! The way you know this one is no good is it's growing on wood, and is in a bunch. True chanterelles, while growing near one another, are spread out and grow on the ground. (In my area, common under poplar trees). The one we have to watch out for is Omphalotus olearius, but they look so different, once you have an ounce of knowledge, and grow very differently. Jack o lanterns are still neat to find though, they glow in the dark! Just rambling now, but I started mushroom hunting about three years ago, and I've never had an issue. It's so worth it because the mushrooms are SO much tastier in the wild. If you can't ID, don't eat.

My favorite, Amanita caesarea, (if I can see well its lamellae are clearly yellow), but it is not recommended to pick them while they are still in the "egg", there are some very poisonous mushrooms that also develop from the "egg" in the same places at the same time of the year.

As we marvel at the diverse types of mushrooms that sprout in the cool autumn months, one can draw parallels to another form of intricate artistry - the breathtaking wooden sculptures that capture the awe of natural beauty.
This list was fantastic. So many shapes and colours and sizes. From the tiniest little hats to mushrooms so big they would feed a whole family. It also reminded me, that scientists say that the biggest living organism in the world is a mushroom. It is of the species of Armillaria ostoyae, and covers about 8,2 square kilometers and is supposed to be 2400 years old. Look it up if you don't believe me: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/strange-but-true-largest-organism-is-fungus/
