Holy cow! We had to sell “World’s Finest” chocolate when I was in high school. A tuition-based Catholic high school. I graduated HS in 1969! Unless ithat chocolate got a serious upgrade, it was certainly NOT.

Scouts sell popcorn and cookies(that have admittedly gone down in quality) as a way to fund an optional activity. School is mandatory and supposed to be tax funded. Way to miss the point.

Very common in the US. So common some people don't realize it's happening. They think the breeds naturally have short pointed ears.

Just a thought and insight into clipping or pinning dogs ears, a Doberman dogs ears are not naturally upright as some people think they are!! This is done to make them look more menacing. A Dobermans ears are naturally floppy like a labs.

It seems to be quite common practice in the US. Same as declawing cats.

For what it's worth, tail docking in some breeds is typically done to avoid injuries to the tail in breeds where the tail is thin and spindly, as is often the case with Weims, Vizslas, and Boxers, to name a few. This is still 100% due to the fact that, because the tail has always been cut off, breeders weren't concerned with producing puppies with thick, robust tails, so now, an undocked dog is almost guaranteed to end up with a tail injury at some point. You can thank the ancient Romans and their belief that removing part or all of the tail prevented rabies. And given how expensive purebred dogs are these days, it's a bit ironic that a docked dog was a sign of poverty, because tails help dogs maintain balance while running, but poor people weren't allowed to hunt game. Also, for what it's worth, a good majority of American veterinarians have been opposed to purely cosmetic docking (and cropping) since at least the late 1800's.

This. They should be paid their state's / province's minimum wage. Or maybe a certain percentage above that. You'd bet that minimum wage would suddenly become an important issue, with no more excuses of 'but it'll cause inflation!'. That, and they shouldn't be allowed to take 'donations' from big businesses which are essentially bribes.

Make that illegal like it is in Canada and other major countries. We also have a much shorter election period and the amount the parties are allowed to receive and spend is much less than the US as well.
