Oh, the sweetness of sheer unapologetic laziness… Is it just a lack of willpower? Maybe it’s a state of mind, a hedonism-inspired lifestyle, a rebellion of modern kind. All jokes aside, calling someone “lazy” is somewhat an insult, especially in societies where hard work and productivity are valued highly (we’re looking at you, America!).
Having said that, a 2019 Pew survey found that a majority of Americans think people are lazier now than they used to be. But we can all discuss what being dubbed lazy actually means.
For some it's a lack of physical activity, for others it may be lack of will to do even the most routine and boring tasks. And while it’s totally normal to have a brief episode of idleness, if it lasts too long, you’re suddenly playing dangerous games.
So today, we’re diving deep into real-life examples of people succumbing to their laziness, by choice or accident. The result is an uncanny collection of pics that may make you laugh, infuriate you or give you a moment to reflect on your own lazy side.

Super frustrating to see this. My dad is a paraplegic due to a car accident. We both nearly died, no exaggeration. This type of c**p happens all the time. I’ve seen two healthy 19 yr old dudes park in a handicap parking space at the bank. Most folks excuses are, “oh I’ll only be one second”. NO ONE is ever just one second. The laziness & sense of entitlement is brewing rampant across the globe. This is not something unique to one race or moral beliefs. It’s a complete lack of common courtesy.
Laziness can lash out at us at every corner, especially at times when we need to be at our most productive. Think of work deadlines, important meetings and calls, bills to be paid and things to be done. Sometimes it’s little things that we can’t force our bodies to push through– from household chores to dragging ourselves to the gym.
And while we all have brief moments of idleness (which may feel pretty indulgent!), at some point it becomes a genuine problem. So to find out more about what’s actually happening in our minds when we’re lazy, how to cope with it we reached out to two experts: Christine Mitterbauer, a licensed and ICF-approved career, and life coach and serial entrepreneur, as well as Dr. Audrey Tang, a chartered psychologist, media spokesperson and author of multiple books, including "Be A Great Manager Now", "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness."

Dr. Tang argues that laziness becomes a problem when you are either no longer contributing fairly to what you are receiving and requiring others to take the strain (with little thought to their wellbeing and efforts), or it is standing in the way of your own achievement of personal goals and desires.“In the latter case (and sometimes in the former) - this can speak to a lack of motivation, and, sometimes, the lack of desire to do anything can be a symptom of depression. In which case it can be helpful to ask yourself why this is happening,” she explained.

So here are some important questions to ask yourself, according to Dr. Tang: “Think of a goal, have you got it?” and next, “Think of all the things you need to do to achieve it.”
“Small manageable chunks, with focus – you should be achieving that in no time – go you!”
“Seems straightforward, doesn’t it?” Dr. Tang asks. “And this is a goal you’ve had for some time, plus those steps are probably quite easy…”
Dr. Tang invites us to think about everything we did yesterday–”how many of those things contributed TO your goal or simply distracted you from it (Netflix binges, scrolling mindlessly through social media, any psychodramas you got caught up in)?”

I was walking through my neighborhood and saw that someone put their poop bag ON TOP of the trash bin. The bin wasn't even full. The bag of poop was just sitting on the lip of the bin, mere inches from the opening. I don't think I have ever seen more astounding levels of laziness.

They can fall off the fence/tree/wherever, get stepped on and the bags split. I know because I've seen it happen. The bags are nowhere near as biodegradable as poo is either. Local council where my sister lives have even said they'd rather people didn't bag it if they're going to do this as it's causing far more of a problem. No idea why these people can't accept that if you have dogs (as I do) you pick it up and bin it properly.

This! WTF is this??! If you don't like the feel of holding fresh poop in a bag, hold it by the tie end! Everybody (responsible dog owners) understand that this comes part and parcel with a pupper. All I can hope is that as they're farting around with tying a bag to a tree is that it somehow rips or comes undone and Voila! Idiots!

To be honest, I don't understand dog waste bags. Dog excrement will decompose in a matter of weeks, why do we have to put it into a plastic bag that will survive a nuclear explosion?

To add to Melissa's comment, small children are also far less likely to dodge poo in time. I don't understand why these people can't accept that with dogs comes responsibility and one of those is picking up and bagging poo and carrying it until you come to a bin. It is part and parcel of dog ownership.

This is just plain rude. If you don’t want to pick up and dispose of dog sh*t then don’t get a dog. The ONLY caveat with leaving bags of poop is if you’re dog did their thing at the beginning of a long walk/hike and you don’t want to haul it around and there aren’t disposal sites along the trail.But YOU HAVE TO PROMPTLY GO BACK AND GET IT!!!

Actually alot of ppl do this to see the bag when they leave so they don’t have to carry it around in the closed off park. Often times owner will grab both even if they only own one too. I used to do this when I lived in the uk cuz there was no bin inside the park but outside. And sometimes you would forget a bag on the ground or not be able to find it. This is a great hack if it’s the norm in that park

To be fair, if there is no can nearby and the walk is a loop I will do similar and pick it up on the return loop so I don’t carry a bag of poo on my entire walk.

I've seen people do this in the way into a trail and take it on the way out because they don't want to carry poop the whole way. So I'm not judging here because I'm deciding to have hope for humanity today and thinking it's that type of situation.

It depends on if these are permanent hangings or temporary. I used to walk my dogs to the beach and would hang the poop bags on trees on the trail. Then on my way back I could pick them up and take them to a trash disposal.

I left a bag on a walk to a pub once as there were no poo bins on the way, but I was worried I'd forget it! I didn't but I also hid it from view (marked so I could find it) so it wouldn't p**s people off if they saw it. Nowadays I carry something that I can put the used bags in so I don't have to carry them in my hands or leave them somewhere and make it unpleasant for others. It is still littering, even if temporary.

Actually this looks like one of those idiot car parks with the pillars right where you want to open your door. They leave almost no room to get down the side of the car with shopping. You might say that she should have gone in nose first so the tailgate is facing the aisle, but frequently you then can't get out of the driver's door for the pillar or next car. This gets worse as car get bigger. Car parks built 20 years ago and often no longer suitable for purpose.

I have done that. When you are in chronic pain, and getting the groceries was all you could manage that day - barely, and your handicapped wife is in an even worse state. Then, who cares if the toilet rolls are not stacked up until the next day? There are more important things in life.

They once threw a mattress over our security fence while the sprinklers were running. At no point did they ring the bell or tell us our package was outside. The delivery picture shows the box being sprayed by water. Thankfully, Amazon gave us a refund and sent us a new mattress for free.

I feel like a lot of these could be clearly be explained and are just posted without context for rage bait. Also as someone with a disability who has done a few of the things in the list it honestly hurts that default assumption is lazy for things that could clearly be caused by disabled people trying to live in an abled world.

There was some sad examples of laziness, that I almost forgot how good it is, that humans are lazy. That gets us to invent washing machines, vacuum cleaners, lawn movers to use instead of tubs for washing by hand, brooms and scythes for the grass.

I can't understand the logic behind hanging poop bags on trees and fences and I see this everyday, so this is pretty common practice. Why? If you're really too lazy to take a bag with you, just leave the c**p on a ground and rain will wash it off. I'm not saying people should leave the poop, but putting it in the bag, and hanging it on a fence is extra work, and it's even more disgusting.
