Simple carbs like those that are found in junk and unhealthy food absolutely do not keep you fuller for longer, complex carbohydrates and protein do, these are found in vegetables, fruit, meat, meat substitute, legumes, grains and beans in varying degrees. Where I agree SOME junk food can be a lot cheaper, that's not the case for all. e.g a 1.5KG bag of carrots is 65p in the UK & 2.5KG of red potatoes is £1.50, that would last a family of 4 just under 7 days with correct portion sizing. I agree meat can be an issue, but there's no need to eat meat with every meal. If you were to reduce your meat intake by half you would be substantially reducing the size of your food bill every week. I'm not a Vegetarian\Vegan but we were struggling with the increasing price of meat products so we decided to make a change. I love meat but I can tell you some Vegetarian\Vegan meals are so much more delicious than a meal with a slab of meat on the plate, the flavour is outstanding and we're always full & it costs so much less.

I agree with you in theory, but if you live in a neighborhood where the stores don't sell fresh veggies, and you don't have the transportation to get to the stores that do, then it is hard to eat healthy.

If a child will only eat sausages and crackers, that is because someone is buying her sausages and crackers. Take those away and the child may get upset, throw tantrums, etc but that child will not starve. When she gets hungry enough, she will eat.

She is right. I understand a kid can be a fussy eater, but only sausages and crackers? There aren't enough vitamins and nutrients in them. Sounds as if the parents prefer to let the kid do what she wants instead of teaching her to eat other types of food.

How old is she? Sausages have no nutritional value, so she might develop serious health problems. What kind of parent lets a child live on sausages and crackers?

5. I exaggerated of course, she eats vegetables and fruit but she simply doesn't like them. And rice, she loves rice. Life with kids doesn't seem so black and white to me, I mean parents get tired of tantrums, which can be BAD. I know, ppl could say that if somebody decided for a baby, they should be responsible blah blah blah... we cannot know if we can handle sth until it happens.

Just to be clear, vegan and fat free are not indicators of healthy food. Corn syrup, pure white sugar and bleached flour are fat free and vegan. Oreo's and potato chips are vegan. Hard candy is fat free. They may be choices for a specific belief (anti-animal cruelty) but they are not at all indicators of how healthy something is.

They're right, but some brands bend the rules a little, like Bimbo, they kept the little bear, but only to advertise regular or healthy products, nothing for kids anymore

Basically, that market started a standing rule in their company in 2013 that any marketing that was aimed directly to kids was to be covered. In this case, Buzz Lightyear. Not long after this started, though, the company got threatened with a lawsuit because they were only covering the characters on "bad for you" foods. So to avoid lawsuit, they agreed to cover licensed characters on any, and all foods, regardless of if it was good or bad.

I think it's probably just that they block out marketing to children across all their items, so they wouldn't make an exception for any single product, otherwise where do you draw the line, I guess.
