Whether someone makes a flawed assumption about your religion, questions your sexual orientation, or just insults your favorite sports team, being attacked on a personal level really gets our blood pumping. And that's natural. But there are better and worse reactions to it.
People online come together and share pictures of men trying to protect their masculinity in the most toxic and unnecessary ways. The screenshots and pics provide an interesting glimpse into what triggers these insecurities and add a bit of satire to point out some of the most irrational examples.

Many of these, let's call them, statements seem to stem from men's frustration with communicating with women, especially romantically. A majority of the fellas we see in the pictures view it as some sort of power struggle where they must have the upper hand. While this dynamic might be suitable to some couples, by thinking that everyone must acknowledge it they're setting themselves up for conflict as often people are looking for the complete opposite.
"Vulnerability is the key to intimacy," Robert Taibbi, who is a licensed clinical social worker with nearly five decades of experience, told Bored Panda.
"It is about stepping outside your comfort zone and saying what is difficult to say. It is not about the content—what you actually say, but stepping up and saying what is difficult. Often the other person doesn't realize the risk you are taking, so you need to talk about this as well."

Assuming these statistics to be true, the reason behind most of them is that, due to men being told they must be "powerful", "strong", "in charge" etc, they often don't know how to express emotions or get help with their struggles, leading to violence (prison) and suicide. Post get togethers for trips and activities with both other men and to even help younger fatherless children to come play basketball or to hang out. Make posts for younger boys who need someone on their take dad to school day. Make a forum for how to handle marital problems and how to deal with stress and pressure, or how regular guys can meet women and date. Make a great section on the site for how to do certain home repairs or car repairs. These are all super positive and good ideas for a men's forum. But that's rarely what it is.

(and I don't frequent the subs that are known for rudeness/ignorance.) I opened a new account and used a name where you couldn't tell if I was female or male. HUGE difference. I did this 3 years ago and have not received one of those comments since. Quite sad.
And the interesting thing is men automatically assume everyone is a man if the gender is unclear by the avatar/name. They will refer to you as "he" unless proven otherwise. Like, men are just the default in the world, even if there are literally more women on the planet.
