It is not unusual to see celebrities getting in several relationships, breaking up, getting married and getting divorced in short periods of time. For us it may seem like they're playing just another role and entertaining their fans but it’s their real life and they go through real emotions with long-lasting consequences.

We may often not see the pain they go through, but it’s not the case with Johnny Depp’s and Amber Heard’s relationship as the defamation lawsuit the actor filed against his ex-wife went to trial and is broadcasted in its whole entirety for people to watch and have a glimpse of what happened between the two and what they feel about one another.

The trial is far from over but one of the two most important witnesses in this case, Johnny Depp, just completed his testimony so we will take a look at what are people’s thoughts on what happened in the courtroom so far.

Everyone encourages women to talk vent and share their experiences. Men? Not so much. They say the minimum and are told they talk to much

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard started dating around 2012 and people realized that the couple were in a serious relationship when they spotted the woman wearing a ring that was assumed to be an engagement ring in 2014. The actor confirmed the rumors and the couple married in a private ceremony in 2015.

However, the marriage didn’t last that long as on May 23, 2016, Amber Heard filed for a divorce. Not only did she want to separate from her husband, she obtained a temporary restraining order against him because she claimed that he physically abused her during their relationship due to the man suffering from drug or alcohol addiction. The divorce case ended in 2017 with Amber Heard receiving a $7 million settlement.

My mother and sister are my abusers. My mother started her abuse (physical, mental, verbal, and emotional) when I was maybe 5. My mother abused my father as well - including physically. I’m no stranger to “women can be abusers, too”. It always surprises me when other people seem to not believe that.

Since then, Johnny Depp’s reputation plummeted and if people mentioned his name, they would also bring up the accusations of abuse. Things escalated when The Sun published an article with the headline "GONE POTTY How Can J K Rowling be 'genuinely happy' casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?" and Johnny Depp decided to defend his reputation in court.

In November 2020, the actor lost the case and after trying to appeal, he again got a negative answer. He had to step down from the role as the villain Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series and he lost his iconic role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates franchise as well as several others.

The hashtag is great. This kind of person can, on their own, destroy a noble and just cause, just for notoriety and money. So, yes to #Amberturd

But the current lawsuit has roots in 2018 when Amber Heard herself wrote an op-ed piece which was published by The Washington Post in which she revealed that she suffered from abuse.

The actress didn’t mention Depp’s name but his lawyers and her ex-husband believed that it was a clear reference to their relationship, so they filed a lawsuit against her for defamation in 2019 with the hope of restoring Johnny Depp's reputation.

How is she a victim again? All the audio I heard so far she sounds so aggresive while Depp tries to get away from her.

There is a barber shop where I went to college whose walls are riddled with Johnny Depp movie posters. I can guarantee that any customer that talks about Amber Heard being a victim will be wheeled out of there on a stretcher....

The lawsuit started on April 11 and it is predicted to last for 6 weeks. On April 25, one of the two protagonists of the case, Johnny Depp, finished his testimony after being questioned by attorneys.

In these 4 days, many audio clips, messages and stories were shared, bringing to the surface all the dirt and pain the man went through. They talked about his drug and alcohol addictions, about his questionable behavior and he talked about experiencing abuse himself that came from his mother and many other quite shocking events. He also claimed that he was the one being abused while he was married to Amber Heard.

Many stories surfaced as other witnesses were called to testify, like Depp’s older sister, Christi Dembrowski, Depp’s doctor, Dr. David Kipper, his security guard Sean Bett, etc. There are actually around 120 people on the witness list for both sides. It includes some big names like Elon Musk, Ellen Barkin, Paul Bettany and James Franco.

There is still a long way to go, but it seems that people’s opinions are changing and they are seeing both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in a different light. More and more people are coming to Depp’s side and realizing that actually he is the victim and this lawsuit is his opportunity to speak up about his side of the story that he hadn't had the chance to do before.

Many people are now villainizing Amber Heard and are very amused by her attorneys, who oftentimes ask irrelevant questions and make remarks that a professional shouldn't make while questioning Johnny Depp and witnesses who are on his side.

It is not clear what the reactions will be after Amber Heard testifies and the attorneys question witnesses that believe she is the victim. And it is also hard to judge who is saying the truth or catch when they are lying or exaggerating, so we would like to know, who do you believe more? Do you agree with Twitter’s reactions? Also, let us know your predictions of how this case will end in the comments!

One person in the relationship smashed some inanimate objects. The other person in the relationship said “I didn’t punch you. I was hitting you, I didn’t punch you.” Yeah, there sure is a lot of difference between “hitting” and “punching” when it comes to domestic violence, right? /s

Honestly who hasn't slammed a door or two when you're angry? Not good by any reason, but still millions times better than physically hurting someone...a slap is just an open handed punch with restraint...for now

When you are in an abusive relationship, they push you so much you can easily feel like you are going insane! then they say you are the bad one after you lose it. I lived it for many years.

I know exactly what you mean - I went to a support group for a while and all the people there shared this weird quality that kinda bonded us together as we had shared similar experiences. It's so hard to put into words but she is missing the mark with her sad face and fake jumping at videos being played. It's so obvious that it's all a work of fiction

Proud to admit I never believed her for a second. I've been in an abusive relationship and know many others who have too through support groups - not once has she ever behaved like victim of DV - there are certain traits you're left with, certain things that become a natural part of your daily life, a certain way we talk about traumatic events - it's hard to explain but a very telling sign is the fact she constantly looks at him for long periods of time, if that were my abuser I would be using anything I could to keep myself from looking at him as my body would start to panic at just the sight of him. Her giving JD that death glare is enough to know she has no fear of him, and wasn't victimised by him

Absolutely agree. I too have experienced DV fkr many years. It left me so scared & traumatised. Got diagnosed with PTS. I lived in fear of my life for many years due to the fact that he'd threatened to kill me me if I ever left him. The thought of seeing my perpetrator was frightening. I know at the thought of seeing him caused me terribly fear & anxiety. Proud of JD! He's a hero to me for what hes doing.

As a woman, Amber Heard disgusts me. She is the kind of person that gives the #MeToo movement a bad name and will cause skeptical men to disbelieve an actual victim of abuse who is female.

I’m pretty sure the only reason the defense attorneys keep bringing up Marilyn Manson, is guilt by association, given the recent Evan Rachel Wood doc, and his own slew of accusers.

I would say that it was Amber's clearly b******t accusations that wrecked his career, not his speaking up about being a DV victim. She doesn't really have a career to wreck.
