I appreciate Keanu's desire to not have his name attached because that seems to be his nature, but surely it would attract far more donations and positive publicity if he did
This brings up quite a conundrum for me. While the man's act was incredibly selfless and should be praised for that, I wonder if perhaps some of the people who donated to his crowdfunding might have been doing so specifically because they knew and loved him and wanted that money to help him personally. I mean, on one hand, you can say that it's his money and his decision what to do with it... but in a way, it's also their money, the people who donated. It'd be like, if you gave a few hundred dollars or more to a crowdfunding campaign to make a movie that you really wanted to see, but then the producers decided to donate the money to cancer research instead. It's hard to be 100% upset about that, because you'd be a monster if you were, but it's still not what you initially intended when you donated.
