40 Random And Fascinating Facts About Our World You Might Not Have Heard Of, By UberFacts
UberFacts says it shares "the most unimportant things you'll never need to know" and I have to admit, that's a pretty accurate description of its content. Launched in 2009, the Internet project provides people with random facts on all kinds of topics.
From the number of janitors in the US with PhDs to the genius way Swedes protested their government classifying homosexuality as an illness, these titbits of information will make you an expert on trivia in no time. So grab yourself some broccoli (random fact: the vegetable is rich in vitamin K, and a few studies in older adults have linked a higher vitamin K intake to better memory), continue scrolling, and upvote your favorite entries!

This girl is typical, of many dogs, they have a deep sense, and are helpful !!!
This is one of the greatest things I have ever heard, I so hope its true.
It is, I heard an interview with the owner sometime this year. She's since passed and he is now guided by her descendants. P.s. the podcast host's voice is amazing. https://thisislovepodcast.com/episode-20-roselle-and-michael

As it turns out, there are some biological reasons behind people's desire to "store" trivia in their brain and the rush of excitement they feel when they get the chance to use it. According to psychologist John Kounios Ph.D., it's a lot like playing roulette, too.
"You get a rush or a neuroreward signal or a dopamine burst from winning," the professor of psychology and director of the doctoral program in applied cognitive and brain sciences at Drexel University in Pennsylvania, told Healthline. "I think whenever you're challenged with a trivia question and you happen to know it, you get a rush. It's sort of like gambling."
"I feel like I might puke rainbows, boss. The cute doctor, said some side effects may include glitter and fabulousness."
Load More Replies...I’m sorry if feeling a bit gay at the moment.. I may be a bit late.. my apologies
I applaud all the participants in this- way to go! I can't imagine a superior's face as they hear the news. Hilarious!
"Sorry boss, can't come into work today. I'm feeling gay right now. The doctor said I'll probably have side effects of fabulousness and rainbows."
Load More Replies...Fantastic! I hope they had ABBA playing in the background when they called in x
In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) removed the diagnosis of “homosexuality” from the third edition of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4695779/
He said the benefits can also be similar to those of playing video games. However, unlike gambling and video games, trivia is generally not a potentially dangerous habit, Kounios said.
"I don't think there are any pitfalls. Like anything else that's fun, it takes up time."
Moreover, retaining information about things we're interested in can be like an exercise for the frontal cortex as the brain ages.
"That's the first thing to go with injury or with age if we don't use it," Deborah Stokes, Ph.D., L.P.C., B.C.N., a psychologist in Virginia who focuses on neurotherapy, said.
So there you have it, folks. Browsing trivia isn't a waste of time. It's a mental workout!
Mark Hamill is such a good guy. I appreciate him as a voice actor as well.
I was just gonna comment that he is such a good dude.

This time it was a child but it is usually our own parents or grandparents, or maybe elderly neighbours with some form of dementia. Please, try to remember that they never keep asking the same question because they want to drive you nuts. They just want to hear the answer. Be kind.

Actually was a compromise between all the delegates. They removed a part where Jefferson wrote of the injustice of the slave trade. Now he was undeniably a slave owner, and probably not a good person, but calling a slave 3/5 of a person was radical thinking for that time.

Unless it meant updating the Constitution to give rights to anyone but well-off white educated property-owning males of a certain status...
Aw, I got downvoted for pointing out the Founders were white men of property who intended to keep power.

Too many people in the U.S. treat the Founding Fathers like gods and therefore resist any change in the Constitution.
Unfortunately, people with addictions are not thinking with their brains, despite all the obvious benefits of quitting.
Load More Replies...Smoke breaks accumulate the equivalent of six full days per year? So us non-smokers are doing six more days’ worth of work than smokers? Yeah, we ought to earn SOMETHING for for all that extra work. Let’s hope this idea crosses the Pacific to the US.
I'm gonna make (maybe) a stupid question. How is it that people can go to breaks whenever they want? Depending on how many hours I work I have a certain amount of time for break... and so was in every job I had...
In every place I have worked smokers are free to go out whenever they needed as long as they don't abuse the privilege. Here legally employers are required to give a lunch break and two short breaks to employees, but as long as as person's job is being done no one cares if you go out more often. A lot of non-smokers (like me) will sometimes join too for a coffee while the others have their smoke break. The only exceptions were a couple of places that had shifts and scheduled breaks for everyone.
Load More Replies...This is amazing! Yes US companies should do the same but also offer free drinks for the non-coffee drinkers too.
Where I work, you're not allowed to smoke on the campus inside or outside. You have to smoke after work.
Nevermind Trump making me miss Barack Obama, he even makes me pine for the days when GW Bush was in power. George and Michelle's easy-going friendship demonstrates that democrats and republicans are not mortal enemies, as Trump would have you believe. A good leader unites his countrymen, not divides them like der Drumpf.
Yes. Barack Obama said that he didn’t want to be the Democrat’s president, he wanted to be the President of the United States. The tangerine toddler, who, Lord willing, will be put in his rightful place, insults his political opponents because he doesn’t have enough logic to fill a teaspoon, much less counter their arguments. Of course, the mere fact that Obama was black was enough to divide the country because of the racists, but at least he didn’t actively contribute to it.
Load More Replies...Putting politics aside, some of the shots of Bush43 giving Michelle candy are hilarious, because Barack has the look of a mom who sees grandma or grandpa slipping the kids some candy.
And that is how politics should be. We may not agree on everything, but it doesn't mean we wish physical harm on others.
Proof you can have ideological differences and still get along and be nice.
Ahhh the good ol' days when being a Republican did not require you to want to hate or murder everyone who wasn't.
Love this, the Obama's are such a perfect couple, Michelle is so pretty, and classy !!!
Not fond of him as a president but a wonderful man. Dad and junior certainly had that in common.
YES! I want to be Trump's interpreter now. People will laugh at him and he won't know why.
This reminds me of a moment in, I believe, the United Nations (but could have been the EU). To understand you need to know two things: firstly the origins of France come out of the Normans, the lot that invaded England in 1066; and that in the 50s, 60s, and 70s in the UK there was a much loved clownish comedian and actor called Norman Wisdom. Cue a serious French speaker stating that a complex situation called for 'a bit of Norman wisdom', all the translaters speaking into their delegates' ears, and the Brits absolutely falling about laughing, to the bafflement of the rest of the gathering.
Now we have a complete POS making us a sad joke internationally.
Load More Replies...They are. The other day I saw another mud covered huge truck with a big American flag flowing off one side and a big confederate flag on the other. Makes me sick.
Load More Replies...Yet, people still wave their confederate flags around and are against BLM.
For no apparent reason other than the race version of the domino effect.

Fingers crossed you get a black female VP after today's election, for a start. Are you a US citizen, over 18? If so, make sure you play your part to help that happen & vote Biden today please. Signed, Concerned UK
Load More Replies...Don't get fooled by the appearances, people. I'm going to tell you a true story I witnessed with my own eyes. This young man was wearing a mask, we were all waiting for the lift, in a semi-closed space. He took his mask, sneezed, uncovered (at least he made sure it was not in our direction), and put his mask back on. Yeah, that happened.
I mean I kind of get why he did it, it was a serious asshole move, but I get why.
Load More Replies...It's supposed to, dufus. This is what we call an echo-chamber. Bias confirmation. Stroking the ego. Think Jonestown and devotees of Xenu. Yes. Trump is quite likely a clinical narcissist, but the aim is not to avoid narcissists being elected to presidency but rather to funnel as large a number of people through a particular gate. And who is supposed to benefit, one way or another? You? Cute.
Load More Replies......and don't forget Trump supporters. Oops, my bad. Lil repetitive I guess lol
I'd have to agree with Dorothy on this one- while it's fantastic that Britain might have founded/supported the growth of a country, an achievement concerning 'conquering and ruling' typically isn't a positive one.
Load More Replies...When my country gained independence from Britain we had a LOT of stuff taken from us. Mostly gems and other precious treasures. Very disappointing.
Yeah. It's so mean when they act like people of color, like in my country, are lesser and try to control them.
Load More Replies...kind of explains that meme that came out after britain held the olympics which showed the queen with the caption 'i used to own all these countries'
some people have a very simplistic viewpoint on the British empire, yes much wrong was done and religion was forced but we didn't do anything that the Spanish, Dutch ,French and Portuguese didn't do. In some cases we did good things, wasn't all bad bad, some people wish they still had British rule ask Hong Kong, lives are not better there now.I am not defending colonialism but its not a simple case of us being the bad guys, many leaders after the Empire did much worse like Robert Mugabe.
Just someone being a badder guy does not make good guys out of bad guys. If Britain never subjugated Zimbabwe, Mugabe probably would have never become important. With this way of thinking you are turning yourself in circles.
Load More Replies...I'm British. I have never conquered, destroyed or abused another nation or national. My ancestors? I honestly don't know. However it is interesting these facts, come from someone named Smith for instance....x
The sun never set on the British empire. The British empire ruled the globe and is liable for millions of deaths in the colony they ruled. The native population were kept as 3rd rate citizens. The French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, etc, colonial governments just robbed and destroy the world. Thanks for these God fearing nations we will have wars until the end of time. Slavery on a world wide scale is just abject. This is the legacy left by these European countries.
Yes, so relaxing. I don't even watch the news, because it's so biased. I get my information by other means.
Load More Replies...Really, that's kinda cool. Back when news was news not just gossip or opinions. Real news doesn't take sides, it tells the facts as known. This is why I love Lisa Ling reporting. No matter the subject she can just report it.
Honestly, I would say ignoring 100 deaths in a rebellion against your government is taking sides quite much...
Load More Replies...Reportedly when the Germans reported the wrong number of RAF planes shot down by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, the BBC corrected them by adding two.

Load More Replies...That's easy, if someone from a different country makes a movie, they are just looking at the culture in it's purest form and not weighed down by politics
Fun fact, some people who are not from China, really really love Chinese culture and they love it so much that they write stories.
The 2020 version! Sorry, I know what you meant, but the original film holds a very special place in my heart.
Load More Replies...Der Drumpf... I wonder what - or who - you might refer to!
Load More Replies...Can't wait for this election to be over with. Each side trying to demonize the other. Fake reports flying everywhere.
Load More Replies...Trump has studied Hitler for years. He had "My New Order”, a printed collection of Hitler's speeches, as bedside literature. That's how he came up with his "fake news". He also used the same tactics as Hitler did: find scapegoats to blame, tell the same lies over and over again and incite to violence without being too obvious about it.
That's nothing Hitler came up with. Every dictator does that to keep up his political strength.
Load More Replies...I get what people are saying but if the news is wrong then it should be called out. And the news is wrong a lot. They tend to publish their retractions at the very bottom of the page so that no one sees it but it happens aaaalll the time.
Yes, this is true, which makes it even worse when I see Trump quite literally imitating what Hitler did. BTW, I'm German
He can't, he's probably the one doing the harvesting on Deadpool...
Load More Replies...Yeah...this seems more like a plan for very slow mass murder than a good deed...which knowing Deadpool might actually be the point.
Load More Replies...This is actually really sweet! He knows his body can reproduce organs fater, so he helps out. Just think about how many comic book kids have Deadpools kidney. Thats cool.
Not calling out either side here because i completely support peoples right to protest. But 7% of thousands of protests can still do quite a lot of damage and at least 25 people have died from protests / political unrest.
Do keep in mind that many of the shots were started from ‘trigger-happy’ (irrational) police officers. Literally a female photographer got shot in the eye by a police officer who willingly targeted her. She lost that eye (you can google it to check). (I am white, btw).
Load More Replies...To the person "not calling out either side" here: for a group of people hung from trees until 1960s, maced when trying to vote (NC 2020), and terrorized across the nation on a daily basis to "keep them from getting uppity," 7% seems low.
Yeah there are always a few bad eggs in every group. Unfortunately a group is usually judged by their weakest link. These good protesters are trying to change America for the better, and the bad eggs tag along and take advantage of the situation.
and the opposition always talks about the violent minority.
Load More Replies...To @scyth. You are so completely wrong. I sat in Kenosha and watched several very peaceful protests from my front step. Not once did those protestors get out of line. But there were certainly a lot of trump supporters there to stir up things and make people think they were. I saw a number of trucks where people broke off, and changed their license plates once they left the protest. And then threw their trump stickers back on their vehicles. You're just a complete racists. I've seen your comments here before and you sicken me.
Peaceful protests really showcase a group's dignity. Personally, violent protests don't make me want to hurry to support that cause. Kudos to participants in peaceful protests/rallies!
Whereas almost 0% of white supremacist rallies were peaceful. But please remember BLM and antifascists are supposedly the real danger to society folks! Pesky people trying to stop lynchings and police murders...!
Peaceful protests aren't exiting and do not sell well. Riots and looting on the other hand make excellent news that can be used to divide the country even more.
If dreams are that medically reliable, the evil purple minion inside me should be born soon

Unless he went private with his celebrity money? Not any good for the rest of us tho, as u said we wouldn't be given a test :(
Load More Replies...There's a well-documented case in British Medical Journal about a UK woman who claimed to be hearing voices that told her she had a brain tumor. She did.
I heard on the history channel that a conspiracy is that dreams give us hints or a chance toward prosperity.
Wow. I never dreamed about my brain tumor but I had a big one and it was cancer. :\
I don't have a pet, but I'd rather talk to a dog for emotional support.

Load More Replies...Honest? Or just rude? I mean, I do my fair share of cussing, but not excessively. I mean, honesty isn’t always the best policy. Sometimes you have to filter what you’re thinking before you open your mouth to say it.
I curse a lot and am *admittedly* not very honest... Or was I not being honest about that? Do I not curse a lot? Or was that a lie too? IS MY WHOLE LIFE A LIE?!?!

Supposedly Marlon Brandos last words were "what the f#$k was that all about?" Kinda wondering myself Marlon.

Someone once reacted to this story by saying “this just proves Hawking throws lame parties.”
In his universe, yes. In alternate universes that party was raging.
Yes, if I could travel thru time, Stephen Hawking's party is definitely on my time travel bucket list.
What if the time travellers decided it wasn’t yet the time to reveal the secret of travelling in time..?
I tried burying a time capsule with instructions on when exactly to meet myself if I ever gained the ability to time travel. It obviously didn't work. Maybe because I buried it in a cardboard box XD
There are more terrorist attacks/threats on US home soil than terrorist threats/attacks from other countries. This is why their gun laws are pathetic, you are more likely to be accidentally shot by your own gun than by a terrorist from another country.
Indeed - or deliberately shot by police for making them "feel threatened" while they scream at you with their weapons already drawn.
Load More Replies...and they feel more and more justified with the moron they are as "president"
@Dori Krutzinger Have you looked closely at the two photos you posted? Obviously you are trying your best to make black folks look like the enemy of society, but did you actually look at them? The man with the Target cart is certainly 'looting.' There is no doubt of that at all. Stop and look at what he has chosen to steal; Ordinary mundane household items, and a handful of children's toys. Criminals steal jewelry, electronics, alcohol, tools, etc. People who simply have nothing left to lose are the people who steal ordinary necessities. People feel they have nothing left to lose when they find themselves in a society which labels and excludes them practically from birth. Changing that society is what we must do.
Since 911 there have been over 200 terrorist attacks in the U.S. Only 11 of them have been by Islamists. The rest have been almost exclusively by white supremacists.
Hey I know white supremacists still frequent this site I’m curious if the department of homeland security labels you a threat, are you still going to call it fake news?
I agree with this. Look at what Trump Jr did in Texas just a few days ago. Terrorism at its finest.
Unfortunately, for the longest time, DHS ignored them in favor of foreign terrorists—-who, after 9/11, targeted other countries way more than the US. I worked for TSA from 2012-2017. Even after one TSO was killed and another wounded—-on the job!—-whenever I would bring up domestic terrorism to the terror “specialists” making their frequent presentations to us, I’d get the deer in the headlights look before they plunged right back into talking about how Al-Quaeda and ISIS (and their cohorts) were out to kill us—-even though they had to cross a continent and an ocean to get here, while the homegrown terrorists just had to get in their pickup trucks and drive a much shorter distance.
DHS the furniture store?? Wow, sorry they let you down. 😁 Sorry, shouldn't joke but in the UK that is the lot those initials conjure up!
Load More Replies...Her grandchildren are probably trump supporters.
Load More Replies...I still go into stores where there are unmasked people. It is a state law, and all stores have a sign at the door telling people to wear masks. It's not a jailable offense of course, but there are no fines enforced, so there is no incentive for these people to comply. I try to keep my distance, but sometimes these idiots walk right up to/ past me. They give me dirty looks when I back away. I have the right to go out and shop once a week. It's the only place I ever get to go. (Thanks for listening to my rant, fellow Pandas.)
I feel you, and your frustration is justified. To see people take this pandemic so lightly makes me very upset. If all of us were careful from Day 1, we would be in a better state now.
Load More Replies...The parallels between the current pandemic and that of 1918 are fascinating. Fortunately, the mortality rate of infection has (so far) been lower for this one, but the attitudes, strategies, and preventions have been remarkably similar.
1918's pandemic went on for two years. Here's hoping it's still lower in 2022.

ANd nothing is wrong with your relationship if you argue. Not arguing is unnatural. You will fight.
Yup... and it has to go both ways... not "Hey, I get to poke fun at you... but if you poke fun at ME... you're DISRESPECTING ME!!!"
We do that a lot. But a lot of people have told me they can't tell if I'm telling the truth or not in these situations. Oh well, works for me.
I once read about this big study done on long-married couples who claimed to still be deeply in love. The common denominator? Each thought the other was a better person than they actually were, as in smarter, better looking, more talented, funnier, etc. Basically, they saw their loved one through rose-colored glasses. I thought it was sweet.
married for 32+ years and i can agree with this. we always had an agreement that we could laugh in any circumstance - we just couldn't point and laugh. however, dishonesty does exactly the opposite; hence, i left.
Goes to show that just because someone is a janitor doesn’t mean they aren’t educated and also just because you have a PHD doesn’t mean you will get a job in that field. I am curious to know how many refugees also have PHD’s that aren’t recognised in their new home.
I wonder how many of these are former refugees with an unrecognized PhD because it was obtained in the old home country
Load More Replies...I have a PhD in Religion from Marquette University and two master's degrees in Church History and New Testament. I left academia to be close to family and to start a nonprofit urban farm to feed food-insecure people in my community. I had to take an entry-level job to pay the bills and keep my family fed while I build our movement and run a nonprofit with no pay. There are many, many compelling reasons that highly-educated people choose to work at jobs that do not require their education.
Wonder where those PhDs were from? It's ridiculous to know that a PhD isn't a PhD... depending on the country... and that there doesn't appear to be a system in place to make a PhD or Master's transferrable. I knew at least 2 couriers who had PhDs... one was a honest-to-jeebus Rocket Scientist (yes. Fully qualified Engineer/Physics/Tech post-doc)... BUT... the qualifications were from another country. Another was/is a Fertility specialist, MD AND PhD with ... genetics focus? I asked about what happened... and apparently there is no equivalency test... or a 1 year "This is how we do things in this country"... They were told "You have to *re-do all of your education from the ground up* if they wanted to practice here. THAT... is a problem.
My kid sister is working as a janitor to the tune of $25.00 an hour. She gets significantly more when she fills in for coworkers.
This is an absolutely true story. I work for a nonprofit and business development. We have several associates who have talked about their refugee and immigrant folks who are janitors and cleaning ladies and construction workers, simply because their education doesn’t transfer to the United States.
I worked for a Janitorial Franchise Company. 80% of Our franchisees fled to US for "A Better Life" before realizing the US systematically keeps people of color down. A Russian doctor can get certified easier than an Argentinian doctor. Oh & Btw, those "Janitors" made more than most doctors. Blew my 6 figure salary away.
I teach English to a Brazilian who has a law degree and a PhD in chemistry. He believes he would have to 'go back to school' to be able to work in his professions in the US, but not in Europe or Canada.
Censoring a town name is next level stupid. It's the town name! That's the whole point of it.
Same with street names. When I first moved to Raleigh, NC in 1979, there was a street just outside the city limits called Jackass Road. I always chuckled when I’d see the street sign, and liked the non-conformity of it. By 1993, when I moved away, the name had been changed to some banal thing that I don’t even remember. Don’t know why, since jackass is another name for a donkey—-the word ass is even in the Bible (and NC is firmly located in the Bible Belt).

The city of Pula from Croatia, translated in a formal way, in Romanian is penis. Do we want the Croatians to change the name of the city because we find it offensive? No! But humans are also helping with overpopulation of certain animals (not that I like the idea of animals being killed on a daily basis). And I'm just now realising this comment is kind of off topic
Humans need food, water, etc and if all those are extinct what makes you think humans would survive? We are the instruments of our own extinction.
Load More Replies...Maybe that is the real reason for COVID-19. Nature is mad as hell, and She's not taking any more crap from humanity.
Interesting name. You are nature, and you can be as enraged or as celebratory as you choose to be.

Sad but true. That’s why we MUST address global warming now, and with a massive effort. We are already at a point of no return, but maybe we can slow the warming enough to adapt and survive as a species.
That's why I'm not worried about the earth. We may create an atmosphere to toxic to sustain our lives, but the earth will keep right on spinning.
For those who may not know: This concept is named after the film "Gaslight", with Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman. He's an abusive spouse who is trying to drive his wife mad by telling her not to trust her own memory and senses. His ultimate goal is to gain her inheritance.
To add: the reason it's called Gaslight is because one of the ways he gaslights her is by changing the brightness of their gas lamps, and telling her she's imagining that they're changing.
Load More Replies...And our current president is the king of gaslighting. And it works for him, too, regardless of how insane some of his lies are (COVID is on its way out when we have record numbers? Come on ppl. Look at the numbers and don't believe that just because you want it to be true. )
Consider myself gaslighted by my anti-mask family vs health officials
As Rick and Morty succinctly put it "Gaslighting doesn't exists. You made it up because you're f*cking crazy".
I agree, but I say the same about Republicans. I'm a true independent. I have voted for both major parties at times, and also 3rd party many times. I rarely like anyone, and I always distrust all of them.

Nearly 70 year old white guy here and although I was not really a Marvel comics fan when I read comics, I've enjoyed all the Marvel movies. IMO, if I had to rank them, Black Panther squeaks in at number one... simply because I love the comic book spectacle of the last two Avengers movies. Black Panther is Shakespearean thematically. I'm really going to miss Boseman.

That’s okay the US voting system is flawed anyway, some peoples votes don’t even count because of the state they live in.
Why don't they make it a state already? They pay taxes and they should have the same rights as the 50.
What's sadder is that SO many Americans don't realize that Puerto Rico is not only a US territory, but that their people are US Citizens.
There is no federal income tax in Puerto Rico. PR has repeatedly made the choice not to be a state or become independent. They are voting again this year on that option.... Third time in ten years.
We could use their votes today. I'm sure they'd rather vote than have paper towels thrown at them.
Hawaii gets to vote and Puerto Ricans are american but cant vote? Is this why Trump didnt know they were American? they arent treated like it
Why do you bring up Hawaii? It's a state like the other 49 states.

I don't think so. In the Czech language are sooo many names connected with some kind a nasty joke for years. And no one is about to extinct.
Don't be ridiculous. The whole thing will have died down and we'll have come up with a new misogynistic term for women.
I'm terrible at recognising when I'm thirsty. I always think I'm hungry.
I have always felt that there was something wrong with the signal from my brain to let me know that I'm thirsty. As a child it was a real problem and led to health issues. As an adult, I have to make sure I drink water at regular intervals or I would just go all day and not realise that I'm thirsty.
Load More Replies...By the time your body tells you you're low on water, you're already dehydrated. I usually get a headache but it's too late to do anything other than suffer (sometimes painkillers don't work on dehydration headache, at least for me)
I believe the mouth is part of the body. When your mouth begins to feel dry, drink water.
Load More Replies...Recommended is 91 ounces (2.7 liters) for women and 125 ounces (3.7 liters) for men. If you really drank that much, you would be peeing every 10 minutes.
This is probably the amount of water you need, not the amount you need to drink. Almost half of that you consume in solid form on a normal day. Our food consists of large amounts of water.
Load More Replies...Besides, it was way too generalized. So, a 100 lb woman has to drink the same amount of water as a 220 lb man? Do you know just how hard it is to drink 64 oz of just water, while discounting all other beverages that contain water? Thankfully, we’re now allowed to include other things containing water as helping to keep us hydrated.
Actually, the medical recommendation in the US is now: take your weight in lbs, divide by 2, and that’s how many ounces you should drink per day.
that's a lot. I mean I don't weigh a lot, but it's almost eight cups for me.
Load More Replies...Thirst is often a sign of hunger. If you wait to drink when you are thirsty, it is too late, you are already getting dehydrated.
Well, in fact adult people should drink about 1/20 of their weight in kilos

"100 years old" does not need hyphens. You ONLY hyphenate an age if it's being used as an adjective, eg "the 100-year-old man blew out his candles", or as a noun, eg "the 100-year-old blew out his candles". Stop adding hyphens randomly! You wouldn't say "people in Japan who are over-6-feet-tall" or "people in Japan who like-to-go-shopping".

The secret to alcohol consumption without a hangover, is water. Yes it'll make you pee a lot, but if while drinking alcohol, you keep drinking equal amounts of water, you don't get dehydrated which is the main reason why we get a hangover. Also, food. Never drink with an empty stomach ;)

“Any person or organization can be nominated by anyone eligible to nominate,” the committee states. The Norwegian Nobel Committee has no input into submissions, though it decides who actually wins the prize. “To simply be nominated is therefore not an endorsement or extended honour to imply affiliation with the Nobel Peace Prize or its related institutions,” the committee states. https://www.factcheck.org/2020/09/trumps-nobel-nonsense/
By a Norwegian right-wing extremist. Not by an official Nobel Prize committee. "The statutes of the Nobel Foundation do not allow information about nominations, considerations, or investigations relating to awarding the prize to be made public for at least 50 years after a prize has been awarded."
