UberFacts says it shares "the most unimportant things you'll never need to know" and I have to admit, that's a pretty accurate description of its content. Launched in 2009, the Internet project provides people with random facts on all kinds of topics.
From the number of janitors in the US with PhDs to the genius way Swedes protested their government classifying homosexuality as an illness, these titbits of information will make you an expert on trivia in no time. So grab yourself some broccoli (random fact: the vegetable is rich in vitamin K, and a few studies in older adults have linked a higher vitamin K intake to better memory), continue scrolling, and upvote your favorite entries!

As it turns out, there are some biological reasons behind people's desire to "store" trivia in their brain and the rush of excitement they feel when they get the chance to use it. According to psychologist John Kounios Ph.D., it's a lot like playing roulette, too.
"You get a rush or a neuroreward signal or a dopamine burst from winning," the professor of psychology and director of the doctoral program in applied cognitive and brain sciences at Drexel University in Pennsylvania, told Healthline. "I think whenever you're challenged with a trivia question and you happen to know it, you get a rush. It's sort of like gambling."

He said the benefits can also be similar to those of playing video games. However, unlike gambling and video games, trivia is generally not a potentially dangerous habit, Kounios said.
"I don't think there are any pitfalls. Like anything else that's fun, it takes up time."
Moreover, retaining information about things we're interested in can be like an exercise for the frontal cortex as the brain ages.
"That's the first thing to go with injury or with age if we don't use it," Deborah Stokes, Ph.D., L.P.C., B.C.N., a psychologist in Virginia who focuses on neurotherapy, said.
So there you have it, folks. Browsing trivia isn't a waste of time. It's a mental workout!

Trump has studied Hitler for years. He had "My New Order”, a printed collection of Hitler's speeches, as bedside literature. That's how he came up with his "fake news". He also used the same tactics as Hitler did: find scapegoats to blame, tell the same lies over and over again and incite to violence without being too obvious about it.

And sadly to this day people in Germany march through the streets shouting this while distrusting the world that there is a global pandemic. Sure enough, there are valid reasons this must be true... The economy of many countrys struggles endlessly, many many people are suffering, dying, losing ther jobs, homes and health. So yes, I bet our governments all had nothing better to do than make up an pandemic so they can plan something in secrecy. Obviously....

A kid steals a candy bar from the grocery store and man goes into a bank and steals everything in their safe and all jewelry and money from every customer in there. Both are thieves, however one is MUCH more impactful than the other. They may all "do it", James, but one has been proven to "do it" WAY more than the others....and only ONE side sued for the right to lie to their audience. That may sound great but I watched a doco where a woman orgasms countless times every day. It was awful, it is exhausting, she had to quit her job, doesn’t leave the house, and sometimes the orgasms cause her pain. Not a life I would want to live, I will stick with what I get.

The man who developped the BMI was a statistician, and statistician are heavily involved in all part of sciences and even more in medicine. Every clinical study to get a new drug on the market involved a lot of statistics. To dismiss Quetelet's work because he was not a doctor of medicine shows a misunderstanding of how science works. He was working on obesity and population growth and developped this index as a growth marker, not an health marker. It was adopted as an health marker years after some studies in the 60's showed its reliability.
