These are the people targeted by conservatives in Australia's last election. They can still be seen on social media talking about 'The Voice'. It was just one reason among many there was a wipeout on the right.

Good intentions I'm sure but I don't like to be watched and death is a very personal final act. I have no desire for my own death to be witnessed by anyone and can't imagine what the trauma of watching her mom's death throes would do to my daughter. It will be whatever it will be. I hope this is something the patient can opt out of if they wish. To each his own.

Kayal’s first tip is refreshing: “Fashion is not expensive.” She believes that style doesn’t have to cost a fortune; it’s all about how you wear what you already have. “Whether you’re trying to up your style game or just want to feel a bit more put together, you only need to put in a little effort,” she says. Her advice? Start by experimenting. Step out of your comfort zone and try something you normally wouldn’t; you might just discover a new signature look!

He took his sweet time, then, because Morse began developing a code system for transmitting messages around 1836/7, and even then he only used a number system. It was Alfred Vail who developed the letter system in 1840, so it's only known as Morse Code because of the earlier number system. The letters really ought to be Vail Code.

He came up with the idea. Not Vail, he just improved upon it. And why are you judging the timeframe that it took him to come up with this completely new system of communication that doesn’t even use words while he was subsequently mourning the traumatic death of his wife? One of Kayal’s golden rules is to start with your own closet. “If there’s something you haven’t worn in 10 years, it’s probably time to donate it,” she laughs. Clearing out old pieces not only frees up space but also helps you see what you actually wear and love. Once you declutter, you can plan better outfits and spot what’s really missing in your wardrobe. It’s like giving your closet and your style a fresh start.

According to Kayal, the basics are non-negotiable. “Start with basics, keep them, invest in them,” she insists. Think well-fitted jeans, plain tees, classic shirts, or versatile jackets. These staples are the backbone of any great outfit. Once you have a solid foundation, you can build up with statement pieces, bold colors, or unique accessories without feeling overwhelmed.

The US and UK signed too, agreeing that if anyone invaded Ukraine they would send troops to help Ukraine. In 2014 Ukraine asked for help in Crimea, the UK had the Para's ready to go, but Obama refused any US troops and said he assurances from Putin the soldiers in Crimea were local rebels not Russias military. Without US Support, the UK stood down. This set the stage for the 2022 war, as Russia saw Biden had the same foreign policy advisors as Obama had and took a gamble, the US wouldnt get directly involved as per the treaty again. We, the US, sold out Ukraine twice.

This is what's so dangerous if Putin gets *anything* from the invasion and the US doesn't seem to care. We all decided that Europe being armed to the teeth was a bad idea, it led to 2 world wars. WE wanted their security outsourced to us, for reasons of both self interest and world peace. Nuclear non proliferation works on that assumption. If Putin gains from this invasion the message to every other country is clear: without nukes, you're a victim.

He was prominent, fought in battle, was the right hand of his Samurai warrior, but he himself was not a Samurai. Keep accurate to history

How many people know why it’s called Cheddar cheese? Because it originates from the village of Cheddar, in Somerset, UK. It was the combination of local terroire and aging that gave Cheddar it’s unique taste. It’s such a shame that it has now become a free for all and a name for an ‘ordinary’ cheese. If you are ever in the UK see if you can find cave aged Cheddar.

Yes, it's absolutely horrible how no other cheese in the entire world tastes good. They're all just s****y imitations of the only true cheese, from that cave in England. 🙄

Years ago, went to Tillamook, Oregon to visit Tillamook Cheese Factory. We saw blocks and wheels like this and although it was cool...the smell was not. Never crossed our minds this would even be a issue. It was horrendous and we cut the tour short and cheesed on out of there.

But how do you get a gorilla to deadlift weights??? (A female gorilla can deadlift 1,100 pounds) *It is also important to note that these numbers are estimates based on observations and educated conjecture, as it is not ethical or safe to test a gorilla's strength in a laboratory setting. from https://fitnessandbrawn.com/how-much-can-a-gorilla-deadlift/

Snort. "Fitness and Brawn" is your go-to reliable source? Here is a better answer to how they came to these conclusions. Try to keep up with science. Comparative Anatomy: Researchers study the muscle structure and bone density of gorillas compared to other primates and humans. The larger cross-sectional area of gorilla muscles suggests greater potential for strength. Biomechanical Modeling: Scientists use models to simulate gorilla movements and calculate the forces generated during activities like climbing or knuckle-walking. These models take into account the gorilla's size, muscle mass, and leverage. Field Observations: By observing the natural behaviors of gorillas, such as how they manipulate heavy objects or climb trees, researchers can infer their strength capabilities. Force Measurements: Some studies have involved measuring the force exerted by gorillas during specific actions, like pulling or pushing, using specialized equipment in controlled environments.

Name is based on T.s. Eliot poem "The Wasteland.". The line is "who is the third who always walks beside you?" It's in reference to the fact that there's two people present but 3 shadows. This poem, in turn, was based on Shackleton's antarctic expedition. I find this fascinating and fitting for the name.

He wasn't found. Ever. And the mother was beset by consistent hoaxes from people claiming to have either found him or BE Bobby. Curiously enough, an adult man later visited her along with a strange man. "Bobby" kept looking to the man as if waiting for permission to speak and claimed that he had been taken into a human trafficking ring, but that he was fine, and she should stop looking for him. Obviously, I'm quite skeptical this was Bobby. In general, the mother's story is fairly tragic, as she spiraled off the deep-end pretty hardcore trying to find him, likely not helped by all the hoaxes making it a constant reminder.

Every time you go on a dive boat, strike up a conversation on the way out and get to know, and be known by, your fellow divers, if you're strangers. The dive boat crew "forgetting" a dive pair (always dive in pairs) is more common than you'd want.

It's so realistic that many mistake it for an actual sleeping passenger. The sculpture is made of bronze, polychromed with oil paint, and includes details like real hair, clothes, and luggage. If I recall, and I could be thinking of another incident, they DID notice. The first time he tried to jump earlier in the day. The second time he did so they didn't catch him. Part of the reason is that the backpack a sky-diving cameraman wore was incredibly big and looked like a parachute in-and-of-itself. They probably thought the first incident scared him straight regarding it and let their caution lapse. At the time there was an investigation into whether it was s*****e, but obviously the camera footage was a pretty big indicator it wasn't, and it was chalked up to sleep deprivation.

If I remember correctly it wasn't arthritis, it was an old injury to the vertebrae. The error was only spotted because a paleontologist (whose name I forget) doing field work was sheltering from the heat beneath the wing of his light aircraft. The heat caused a tyre on the plane to burst, the plane dropped to one side and the wing hit him on his head, causing compression damage to his spine. Months later as he was recovering he noticed that he was stooped in the same way as the Neanderthal fossil, and when he compared his X-rays to the fossil bones he saw the same kind of damage. If the first Neanderthal fossil found had not been damaged, the idea of the stooped posture would never have happened, but as it was damaged, all subsequent undamaged specimens were assembled wrongly.

A pity it happened, but research now shows Neanderthals to be an intelligent subspecies (H. sapiens neandethalensis) of modern humans. The did walk upright, they had language, art, music, and some very interesting adaptations to their environments. This is a really interesting field in anthropology. Tells us more about ourselves and shatters a lot of old notions about us being the ultimate species.

"The Thing" was the first ever Radio Frequency device (like RFID) ever invented. It was invented by Léon Theremin (yes, the same guy who invented that wacky instrument). The reason it was not discovered for years is that it could only be powered up by a magnetic field being passed over it, so detection devices, which were looking for electrical signals, showed nothing.

The top dog is how Bull's-eye, Bill Sykes' dog in Dickens' 'Oliver Twist', would have looked. Because of the association between Sykes and the Bull terrier, it's the more modern appearance of the breed that gave rise to the expression for an ugly person - 'a face like a robber's dog'.

Maybe so, but that has nothing to do with bull terriers. Brachycephalic refers to squished-face dogs, which these guys are not. The muzzle stop was bred out of them, resulting in a dome-shaped muzzle. Brachycephalic dog muzzles can be seen a having such a severe stop that their muzzle is all a muzzle stop. ~ edit- included thoughts on muzzle stops.

One of the reasons why a phone shouldn't be used is that you're supposed to use 2 hands (obviously exceptions for disabled) She's still commiting an offence. In the UK, you can be fined for eating an apple, a sandwich or taking a drink from a water bottle.

If you read about it on Wikipedia, you will see that he was railroaded - he was tried, convicted and executed within 80 days. "the rumored culprit came from a well-known, prominent white family. A member, or members, of that family had served on the initial coroner's inquest jury, which had recommended that Stinney be prosecuted." Stinney had an alibi.

Even if he were completely paralyzed, physicians of that era knew enough to recognize shallow breathing and how to detect a pulse. In any case, Alex couldn't have survived six days without water. If he was "buried alive" they must have at least kept him hydrated somehow.
