I did read ages ago that Snakes On A Plane was going to be called something else and Samuel L Jackson said the film has to be called Snakes On A Plane otherwise he won't do it. Because it's about m***********g snakes on a m***********g plane.
So this is about movies. Tolkien's opinion about Samwise is certainly not referencing a movie!
