I Found This In My Local Woods
This is a memorial for loyal companions that crossed the Rainbow Bridge. So many good boys and girls. So much unconditional love.
One of the reasons your lungs feel refreshed when walking through a pine forest is because of an anti-inflammatory compound called a-Pinene, found in conifers. It is used as a bronchodilator in the treatment of asthma and abundantly present in marijuana.

My Brother Found This (Missile?) In The Woods In Tennessee
Have you reported it (to the police or such)? Here in Germany undetonated ammunition/missiles/guns from WW2 are found all the time - they are still dangerous as they could accidentally go off. Probably no that much of a problem for you since I guess Tennessee isn't near as densely populated as Germany, but still. There are people out there who make a living removing stuff like this safely - let them know there's a job for them!
In the area around my hometown (Ypres, Belgium), it's a very normal thing to call the demining services. A century after WW1, 250 tons of unexploded ammunition (5% of which is chemical) is still found every year in an area of just over 1000 square km. It's a serious hazard for construction workers and farmers, as the ammunition becomes more unstable over the decades.
Load More Replies...Apparently it is a fake. Read something about it on Reddit a while ago. Lots of comments about the obvious spot welds on the "tail fins" where they are secured to the "body" being nowhere near substantial enough for it to be real among other things.
Dare your friend to kick it. Then run like hell! Oh, and don't forget your beer.
Load More Replies...It's an old septic tank that someone put fins on. Either way, dare you to hit it with a hammer.
Hit it with a hammer. It’s probably just an old shiter tank some punks slapped a radioactive sticker on
Hmm.. You may want to notify someone about that. Let's say the authorities.
It's probably prop from the movie October Sky... about people building rockets there.
It's not a missile, just a dart got lost from nearby Highland Games...
Every backyard should have one to remind themselves of the stupidity of governments
You need to call the authorities to remove this safely. This kind of stuff becomes more dangerous when it starts rusting.
if I was in that position I would call the police and after they there i would run home

As people pointed out, this is upside-down and in farsi: she's asking for forgiveness and for the forces to give these people: American Airline's CEO in 1990 and a driver she spat on, stealing wine from an Armenian guy in Pasadena, little girl that liven in number 9 Saadi alleyway in Javadieh neighborhood (it's in Tehran) which she spat on, to be given dignity, wealth, complete physical and mental health in this world and the next.

An Old Piano Found In The Woods Under A Tree Trunk
Legend says you can hear it playing when the sun sets down, and the sky turns rose. 'Twas described as a melancholic yet beautiful sound. However, nobody managed to reproduce that mellody yet. Countless musicians have tried, from professors and prodigies, to enthusiasts and students, but none could manage to capture those notes. As they'd write them down or touch the keys, like a dream, it would just fade away.

Some finds are super creepy or interesting, but it makes me cringe how many people find the woods as a personal trashing space :/
I would like to think that the folks that find the items that could be taken out and either sold or trashed did so. It pisses me off when humans dump their s**t in our forest.
Yes I agree, too bad we are unable to find the idiots who ruin our forests !!!
Load More Replies...I can make a threat with a whole bunch of pics of the weird and cool things we find when we go hiking in the woods of Pennsylvania.
I love my Friday mornings going through threads like this one. But I wish they'd give a location!
Agreed. Doesn't even need to be specific. 'Southern Germany', 'Eastern Pennsylvania', etc.
Load More Replies...Heartbroken at this level of littering/pollution/disregard... I've seen crazy things in the woods, no doubt, but when it's obvs just trash? *argh*
Some of these need to be brought to the attention of the authorities, some are too cute to remove, and some need to be explained! (Like the pile of carrots, dishes, and toilets.)
Most of these things make me wonder how they got there. And I don't mean the trash, but the other ones. There must be a story behind them, and I wonder about the people who put them there. That's why I also like to see photos of abandoned places.
I live close to a former motorcross track in Belgium that's been closed for a few years now. Passing by one day I noticed this tree. Looks like they threw used tyres over it when it was still a very young tree and now they're part of it. Knipsel-5d...ec4d3f.jpg
Inexplicably, I found a kayak graveyard in the middle of a forest in Wellington, New Zealand. At least 100 old kayaks, many kilometres from the nearest body of water. High and dry, growing moss and mould. kayaks-5d1...2d80f1.jpg
I live in a fairly mountainous region... I'm getting some seriously sinister ideas!
